Toban finishes crossing the pipe. He hurries over to his sister and peers around the corner, eyebrows raised.

Narissiel crosses across the pipe after Toban, then loots the goblins for anything of use.

Jastrokan wipes sweat from his forehead. "Whew! That was close! They put up a good fight! WORK OF ART!"

Jastrokan finishes carefully crossing over then he looks around for clues.

The dead goblin warriors have only the poorly crafted goblin weapons you saw on display. The bard, on the other hand, has several things of note:

- potion of resist fire
- wand of cure light wounds with 24 charges
- masterwork whip
- brooch of shielding
- disguise kit

Taking all these things, the Pathfinders search the rest of the room, but find nothing else of interest here. Moving on, the 10' wide passage continues to the north. After about 40' the passage turns to the east again. Following on, the Pathfinders stop after about another 30' when the passage ends in a "T" junction. You can continue to the north or the south. It appears to the south the passage opens into a chamber. To the north, there are two closed doors on either side and the passage continues on as far as you can see.

Let me know who takes the items, and remember they are only useful during this adventure. Must be bought off the Chronicle before you keep them permanently.

Rosie takes the potion of resist fire and the brooch of shielding. Then she heads on down the tunnel and decides to lead the group... to the south!

Not sure why Paizo does this on their maps, but...

The room to the south looks like it was once a guardpost or sentry position of some kind, but the ruckus of the Pathfinders combat with Versevosh has scared all the goblins away. There is nothing remaining in this room of interest. A long passage leads out to the surface, but exploring it yields nothing of note.

Toban takes the wand of cure light wounds. "This will be helpful," he says as he taps his lip. POP! POP! POP!

Toban follows Rosie. But when it's clear they need to double back he leads the way down the tunnel with the two doors. "This way."

We're back! What do we see?


Opening the door on the left side of the hall reveals a square stone chamber that absolutely reeks of unwashed animal fur and worse smells from caged up beasts. Gnawed bones, rotting chunks of meat, and filthy piles of rags litter the room.

Springing up to attack as soon as the door is opened are a pair of vaguely canine shapes. The beasts are foul-smelling and ugly with a mangy body of a dog and a flat nose, beady eyes and over-sized teeth of a rat.

DC 11 Know Nature:
These are goblin dogs. They are common companions of goblins who use them as mounts, beasts of burden, and sometimes food.

DC 16+ Know Nature:
Besides a painful bite, goblin dogs are known to have powerful allergens in their mangy fur which can make those who have physical contact with the dog break out in a painful and ugly rash.

Leaping towards teh open door with fangs bared, Red Dog snaps at Narissiel. It's vile jaws close around her arm, rending the flesh and exposing the elf to the dogs severe allergens.

Think that takes Narissiel down to zero...She also needs a DC 12 Fort save vs the allergens. All the Pathfinders are up next. New Map is updated on the link at top margin.

Narissiel yelps in surprise as the monster beast bites her!

"Yikes!" Toban yelps as he takes a (five-foot) step back from the dog. He pulls out his healing wand and taps Narissiel with it.

"Oh, I can see it now!" Jastrokan exclaims as he holds up his paint brush. He begins to paint an magical picture in the air. "Oh, we're getting strong alright! Yes! That's how we do it! A masterpiece!"

He 'paints' us all with big muscles.

Controlled Raging Song to give everyone +2 Strength.


Dog Kennels - Round 1 - concluded

Hurt badly by the goblin dog's savagery, Narissiel stands and fights anyway, returning a wound to the beast before succumbing and falling unconscious on the ground.

Toban pulls out his healing wand and taps the fallen elf, restoring some of her damage and returning her to consciousness.

With Narissiel down, Sekell has a clear line of sight on the lead dog and uses that advantage to take a point-blank shot. The arrow flies true, and the damage it does is enough to kill the dog which drops in a heap.

Rosie leaps into the room and attacks the remaining dog with her bare hands, issuing a serious hurting to the flat-footed beast.

Lastly Jastrokan considers a portrait of the fight, with all the Pathfinders buff and strong, and soon their strength is boosted.

The last dog bites at Rosie but cannot catch her in its jaws.

Rosie, since the first dog was dead by the time you acted, I just turned your full attack into a move and attack. Same effect.

Narissiel looks up to see Toban standing over her again. "Thanks," she groans. Then she pops back up to her feet and grabs her leaf blade in hand.

Narissiel jumps to her feet, after recovering from near death, and reaches for her dropped leafblade.

As she does so, Toban taps her again with the magic wand restoring more of her vitality and getting her back to full strength.

With his line of sight blocked by Narissiel and Rosie, Sekell doesn't have a good shot lined up. As such he moves into the room, trying to avoid a bite from the goblin dog, and takes a position in the far corner for next round. The dog snaps at him as he passes by but misses.

Rosie and Jastrokan are up for the Pathfinders.

Jastrokan hurries into the room's corner. "Ah! That's better! Picture perfect!" Maintaining his performance. He throws his iron brush at the goblin dog.

Rosie steps up to the rodent-like dog and unleashes a series of punches, one of which actually lands on the mangy beast, downing it fully.

The room is just a filthy dog kennel, and there is nothing of use here once the dogs ahve been dealt with. The room across the hall is a nearly identical example, except it is empty with none of the fetid dogs present.

Narissiel pats the gnomes on the backs. "Well done."

Narissiel's ready to move on.


The only unexplored section left of this underground area is to the north. After 30 or so feet the passage turns to the west again. Soon the passage opens into a room. There two rows of pillars support the roof of this long hall. At one end stands a makeshift throne constructed from the broken remains of a smashed statue and other cracked blocks of masonry.

Standing in front of the throne is the largest goblin you have ever seen. She stands nearly 7 feet tall and must weigh 400lbs. She holds a long goblin-like horsechopper and a morningstar is at her belt. A pair of goblins lurk behind the pillars at the far end of the room as well.

Know Local DC 12:
In fact, the big creature is not a goblin at all, but their bigger meaner cousin - a bugbear! Whereas goblins are chaotic and kill for the fun of it, bugbears are generally more thoughtful in their approach and kill for maximum pain, not only to the victim, but for those left behidn as well.

The large goblin points at you and says in accented Common speech, "I see my warriors have not stopped your approach. The Nightsoil Marauders resent your intrusion! Leave now, and i will spare your miserable lives!" She does not seem shaken or worried about your presence in any way.

"Don't come any closer!" warns Inkolar angrily. "Or I will be forced to turn violent. For now, I am predisposed to negotiate. Send one of your party forward and I will consider any and all offers. But only one mind you, with no weapons in hand."

Toban tucks his weapon into its holster over his shoulder, holds out his open hands and starts to walk forward. "I accept your offer of negotiations. I will represent us."

He's curious with his sense motive if she seems sincere in her desire to parley, or if she's intending to become violent one he's there and unarmed. Toban's further responses depend on what he thinks about her intentions.

Rosie squeaks in terror at the hobgoblin and snuggles her bunny close. "Please don't eat me or my bunny!"

Rosie takes an itty-bitty step forward.


Toban edges forward acceding to the demand to parley. He studies the bugbear as he comes, hoping from tell or tip that shows what she has planned.

Toban Sense Motive:
The bugbear is obviously lying about a parley. It's your learned opinion that she is just trying to get you within arms' reach to kill you as a message to the others. She seems to be staring at the floor in front of you with unusual interest...

Unable to follow directions, Rosie tip-toes forward just a scant amount, to see what she can get away with. Inoklar and the goblins seem intent enough on Toban's advance, they don't seem to notice.

Toban tugs on his moustache and takes a single step forward, warily. "Surrender now and you'll have the chance to leave the city with what remains of your followers. You have a chance to do something beautiful with your lives," Toban says with passion.

Rosie stands still behind the pillar, hoping the others have forgotten about her.

Toban stares down at the floor, but can see nothing amiss there. When he suggests that the bugbear surrender, she flies into a rage: "Surrender? I will never surrender! The Maruders won't give up! You Surrender, little gnome. You and your companions had all just better surrender, and we'll let you you live."

Jastrokan keeps painting in the air, making tiny little Toban with giant muscular arms and Rosie breaking goblin's bones with her fists! "Oh, I see it now! This won't end well for you! Last chance to surrender!" (Maintaining his performance).

Then he hurries into the room and takes cover behind a pillar.

As the idea for a negoatiated settlement dies, Toban starts casting but before he can finish the two goblins leap into action, moving along the outer walls and closing in the gnomes on either side.

"I've got the left!" Narissiel tells Sekell as she hurries over against the left wall and fires an arrow at the red goblin.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11
Piercing Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9


Audience Chamber - Round 1 - continued

Toban finshes his conjuration and lobs a magical glob of acid at the bugbear which causes a minor wound. The brave gnome then readies his glaive and steps forward in challenge.

From the back of the chamber, Narissiel fires an arrow at one of the advancing goblins, but cannot hit the small, quick target that ducks behind a pillar just in time.

Sekell trusts the others to deal with the goblins so he fires an arrow at the bugbear in support of Toban. But his shot glances of Inoklar's studded leather harmlessly.

Jastrokan and Rosie are up next.
