Viktor nods, shaking his hands of the dust and nodding. "At least the acolyte saw what we carried. Perhaps if the father joins us on the hunt for the others, he will be quickly convinced."

Sitting in one of the pews, Viktor would reach into his tunic and pull out a small wooden symbol of Pharasma. Quietly he prayed for a moment, no words spoken, before slipping it back under his armor and smiling towards Filiana.

"Your gift is powerful, Filiana. Where did you first learn of it?" The mighty warrior's voice is low as he asks, trying to respect the secrecy that she wanted.

Nostro moves in behind Keydas and takes a seat if it is offered, careful not to track mud in. Once Keydas is through with his questions, he chimes in with one of his own, "The children sing a morbid song of murder. Lopping heads and feeding stirges. How did this come to be?" As he speaks of the topic, his jaw tenses and his brow furrows a little, clearly bothered by the situation.

Filiana follows Viktor into the church and also sits in one of the pews. For a long moment she does not answer Viktor, seeming lost in thought.

I wonder if Pharasma would be cross if I prayed to Sarenrae in here... surely she wouldn't mind... I don't know ... Brother Smoot always made the gods sound so jealous... perhaps I should wait ... but .. but ... I feel ... close? somehow ... to her. Ever since I visited that church with Cobble ... I wonder if somehow this ... thing ... that has happened to me is somehow Sarenrae's doing. That might be nice... if it wasn't a curse.

Then she looks across briefly at Viktor before replying...

I, umm... The first time it happened was about six months ago. I was lost, in the woods at night. I had left it too late in the day to set out for home and it got dark, so dark. And then suddenly, my hand was glowing. I never told anyone except my parents about it. Then a few weeks later the white fire burst out of my hands and killed a wolf. And healed the girl it bit. Lots of people saw that and everyone believed I was cursed. Some even said I summoned the wolf to bite the girl in the first place. Even my parents were scared. They didn't think I had tried to hurt the girl, but they didn't know what this was or what it might do next. They were scared for me. And of me too, a bit. That's a terrible feeling, seeing the fear in your mother's eyes when she looks at you.

Filiana hangs her head for a moment, overcome by the memory, then looks up before continuing.

I only used it one other time. I was traveling with my cousin Cobble. He had come visiting, looking for members of the Longsong family, and after visiting with us he wanted to move on to the town of Morcei in Lozeri, looking for some more. He asked me if I wanted to come along, and I said yes - I thought it might help if I just went away for a little while so I went with him. We were traveling through Odranto when we met the Professor. He was being attacked by some zombies and we helped. Well, I did the thing with the fire which was at best a little bit of help and Cobble did a lot of stabbing with his sword. That was months ago and I've never used any of it again since until today.

Viktor listens quietly to Filiana's sad story, letting her take her time as the acolyte passes by mumbling to himself wondering where that old man had disappeared off to. Viktor would frown just a little more as she spoke of her treatment at those who accused her of witchcraft, of summoning a wolf to attack the girl.

"I am so sorry, Filiana. I cannot imagine how painful that is. My own mother was quite sweet, I would not be the man I am today without her love." His smile grew some then, his large hand taking hers for just a moment. "I was right then though, the professor saw what you were, what you could do."

"I didn't see a spellbook upon you nor does your magic seem divine like Ladruca's prayers and skills." He murmured, taking his hand back and rubbing his chin for just a moment in thought. "I have heard of those who are able to call upon arcane power through their blood. Sorcerers, the Professor called them. They have powerful blood in their veins, some great and some terrible." Before she has the chance to be driven paranoid with that thought, he smiles at her.

"I saw your power in work tonight, Filiana. I do not believe something terrible runs in your blood. Your are brave and you healed my wounds with those flames. I thank you for that." He gives a nod, that smile staying strong upon his face. "As I said before, I will help keep you safe. I am certain the others are of the same mindset. They know the difficulties of being strange."

Ladruca leans against the wall scowling as he waits for the old priest to arrive.

Damn this old man, will he not hurry up He thinks impatiently.
I should be out there with Nostro and Gregor helping to dispatch the rst of the zombies.

As he waits he hears Filiana's tale of woe and Viktor's attempt to comfort her. He wrestles internally over whether to say anything or no.
Finally he takes a step towards her.

''Filiana, take it from one man with taint in his blood to another.Wherever your abilites come from, whether they be a curse in your blood or strange magic from some distant relative, what is important is what you do with them. Use them for wickedness or good, it is entirely up to you. Do what you know in your heart is right and eventually the rest of the world will see it too. And if they don't, then they aren't worth your time.''

He lays his hand on her shoulder for a moment and gives it a squeeze, then returns to the wall and leans against it once more.

Father Otto, I might not have lived up to your lofty ideals about good, but I think you'd be proud of me all the same.

@ Keydas and Nostro
Jominda Gestures for them to take a seat. She also brings out and offers a herbal tea she had been making.

Of course not. He knew quite a lot about that particular area of magic. But he was always one to believe knowledge one of the most powerful tools against ones foes. He likely could have been if he so desired. But He was much to good a man for that.

At Nostro's question she merely shrugs.
I can't say. I'm not sure if anyone in town knows where it originated from. Its just been here, accepted now as part of the town.

@ the others.

Eventually Father grimburrow enters the main chapel. His Scowl looking worse than normal.
What is it? Why are you making such a racket? Can't an old man rest in peace!? He blusters as he sees you. He notes you are wounded however, and mumbles. By the gods what have you gotten into? You didn't seek out your own justice against the farmers that impeded you did you?

you notice the acolyte following him has been trying to get his attention to say something, but has clearly not been able to do so.

How disturbing. I hope to make enough of an impact to replace sickening things such as this. Inheritor grant me strength. "Very well." Nostro remains seated and drinks the tea, the steam warming his stiff face after hours in the cold rain. Not as hard a drink as I'd like to end my day with, but it warms the belly either way. As the pair continues to speak, he listens intently, determined to gather as much knowledge about this town and the late professor as he can. There is so much more to be learned about this. How deep does this mess go?

When we are ready to leave...
"Jominda. Thank you for the information and tea. I will return to perform more work later in the week." Now cold, he drains the rest of the tea and places his emptied cup on the tea tray. "Keydas. I will accompany you to our lodging, then assist Gregor in his hunt." Nostro marches out into the rain with Keydas, eyes everweary for more nighttime terrors.

Viktor stands up as Father Grimburrow stood up and nodded towards the man in a show of respect.

"Father Grimburrow." He waits for the man to realize the situation that they seem to be in and he shakes his head, his smile faint and grim. "Not at all, Father. We found the cache within the false crypt. While returning back to the church, we were attacked by undead. Ghouls, skeletons, and zombies. I was lucky to have such stalwart companions with me or tonight could've been my last night."

Crouching down, he would open the bag and show the supplies kept within. All the tools would be put on display, nodding towards him. "I...I heard a voice on the wind. A wickedness in the air. Something sought to stop us. The dead disappeared, even the ghouls dissolved to dust after death." Viktor gestures to the stammering acolyte, nodding. "He saw me bring the body in before it became the dust upon the entrance."

Filiana looks absolutely astounded at the support she has received from the two men. She sits staring, oblivious to the arrival of the priest in the room.

How? How can this be? They have seen what I can do and just like that they accept me. More, they try to comfort me. How can these be so accepting when those closest to me could not. Friends, family, those I grew up with. None of them could look at me without fear or revulsion and yet these men I only met in the last day have accepted me without doubt.

Her eyes are full as she contemplates what has happened to her this day.

His face looks grim as he continues. "The Whispering Way has it's eyes set upon the area. Something...raised the dead within the Restlands this night. Seeking to stop us as we came back from the crypt. The same group who i suspect killed Professor Lorrimor as he investigated Harrowstone."

Ladruca chimes in after his companions are done speaking,

''Father, We came here earlier to get your permission to use certain items found in the false crypt. We have done so at great personal sacrifice to ourselves. Gregor here almost succumbed to a ghoul's paralysis and our companion Nostro was almost killed by a second!''

Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

A little exaggeration to get an emotional response and lower his guard.

As my companions have already said there are necromancers afoot in your town, this is beyond any doubt. They likely murdered Lorrimor, they certainly raised the dead which almost cost two of us our lives. So we come to you to ask that you let us keep what we found in the crypt and if you have any other advice or help you can give us, in the name of Pharasma, I ask for it now please.''

diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

An impassioned speech to stir the blood, call on his goddess to rally him and a little politeness to make the bitterness of helping ''monsters'' go down smoothly

His little speech done, Ladruca sits back and awaits the father to collect his thoughts.

Father Grimburrow grabs his holy symbol and a small light radiates around the room. You all feel restored.
channel: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 3) = 16

He then lets out a sigh.
I hadn't wanted to believe that. Though ever since the unfortunate incident at the prison, things have... Gotten strange. Noises in the night, lights and sounds seen coming from abandoned buildings. Some even claim to see a person or ghost walking around the Prison some nights. I had attributed it to the incident and its... After effects. However, if it is remnants of the whispering way, and I have no idea what they would want from our small town.

He rubs his forehead and sighs. yes yes, you can use the items as you see fit. On the condition that you return any not used to me should you ever leave town. If what you say is true, I would urge you caution. We have seen how dangerous the prison can be if the worst is the case.

Keydas
Jominda shakes her head.
He purchased some things from me everynow and then. But he never let me in on his work. He protected people that way, or so I believe. As for history, I cannot truly say. It's not something I've looked into. Though if you wish, I'm sure you could find more than a small bit of information in the town halls records. The only legend I know of is the fire of Harrowstone. It's now, by local decree, a haunted place. That much death there? It very likely could be.

''Pharasma's Blood!!! That burns like hellfire'' He curses aloud as he tears his hood and glasses off.

''In the future father, kindly DON'T infuse my body with positive energy would you? We Dhampir don't react well to it. He attempts to smirk sarcastically as he says this, but it is obvious to all that it is forced and that he is quite a bit of pain.

''Well I don't know about you three but I am going to return to the graveyard and track down those missing zombies. Gregor,Viktor will you be joining me? As for you father this has been very fun, next time maybe ill fill your body with negative energy and we'll see if you find it fun?

Filiana is torn from her musings by Ladruca's scream of pain. At first, not quite understanding what is going on, she crouches down in her pew, thinking that some undead have followed them and they are now under attack. When she sees what has actually happened she jumps up and rushes over to try and help, but by the time she gets there he has said his piece and is stalking out the door.

Ladruca! Stop! You can't go off looking for more undead to fight when you are so hurt. I can see how badly that hurt you. You're not going to be able to fight in that state. Can you heal yourself? I am not sure if my magic fire works like the priests magic, so I don't know if it is safe to use that on you. Can you drink healing potions, or do they hurt you too?

He hears her and turns his head to look at her over his shoulder. He waves his fingers to indicate she should follow him.

''Don't worry about me, little one, however im not going to let a few wounds top me from killing those zombies. As for your questions, no healing potions will not make me better and if your healing fire heals the living it will only harm me. You see one of the curses of my vampiric blood is that I respond to healing magic the way the undead do. It burns my flesh but im healed by negative energy, it is the opposite for most living creatures. Your concern is noted but im sure Viktor and Gregor will be tagging along and most likely Nostro will be there.''

He waits a moment to make sure she is following him and then continues on his way.

Hmph, I'd make a remark about hiding what you are, but I suppose that is normally a good idea around here. Rightly so. He says as you walk off. He looks to the rest of you, waiting to see if you have anything further to speak to him about.

Keydas

Jominda sighs. No, I can't say really. My advice would be to at least try and become accepted by most folk around here. Maybe visit the tavern, save a cat from a tree. Investigate a haunting or two. Maybe you could ask them nicely, and if you have a good enough reason for it they may let one of you use it.

The cleansing light of Pharasma moves over him, helping soothe the last few wounds that he had suffered during the fight. Yet the scream from Ladruca caused him to jump, his eyes widening as he rushes towards the man with a helpful hand.

"Ladruca! I...I didn't know that..." The man then turned and fled out into the darkness, Viktor swallowing his guilt. He had not even considered the possibility of that happening and silently thought to himself. "At least I now know. If I had fed him a potion to save him? I would've killed him..."

Filiana rushes out into darkness ahead, Viktor looking down at Gunnar and the man would nod before the goat suddenly takes off after the two of them. They would hear the clip-clop of the goat's feet, the goat leaning in close and sniffing the still smoking body of the Inquisitor. Viktor nods towards the Father in thanks, speaking quickly.

"I must ensure he makes it back safely, Father. Thank you for your healing and your kindness. We will preserve the cache as best we can." The man was grim and wanted things to be going well, he didn't know that such a thing could occur after all. Viktor didn't hesitate though, greatly renewed with positived energy and eager to hunt the rest of the wandering undead down.

Viktor would quickly catch up with them, stepping beside Ladruca. With a careful and firm grip, his hand would grab the dhampir's shoulder and he would nod. "We shall hunt them down. However, you are not allowed to be beyond Gunnar and I's side. Understood? The words were stern and firmer, probably firmer than any that the group had heard Viktor had ever spoken before. Yet in the glow of the sunrod, his concern was as apparent as the sun rising over the horizon. "We shall treat your wounds then and we shall research as you heal. Are you able to infuse yourself with negative power?" It was a strange predicament, but it was a situation that they'd have to deal with.

Viktor will be incredibly protective of Ladruca and will even be forceful about it should the man stress himself too much. It seems he had a bit of an issue letting his injured allies be left alone.

Nostro makes his way back to Kendra's home with Keydas. Near the door, he puts his hand on Keydas' shoulder to stop him. "Keydas. I will see you in the morning. I am returning to the Restlands to hunt. Please inform Kendra of our late return." Alone, he moves back into the rain and picks up his pace to steady jog towards the Restlands.

It is late, but we can't let zombies stumble around the town. It is unfortunate enough that they appeared, let alone that it coincided with the arrival of a necromancer as well as the death of an alleged one. The rumors would be our undoing. Approaching his destination, he searches for lights in the distance. Ladruca has yet to prove he is fool enough to hunt undead at night on his own, so the group must have some form of illumination...

DM: Nostro intends on staying out late and hunting the remaining zombies, but only if 2 others are willing to do so. Otherwise he will turn in for the night.

I'll assume enough people desire to return and finish the remaining zombies before returning.

After handily mopping up the last of the zombies, you all make your way back at some point to Kendra's home. She greets you all with a smile. Then notices the tears and grim in your clothes and gear. She opens her mouth as if to say something, then closes it.
No, no I don't think I want to know. Anyway, here. She walks to each of you in turn and mends the fabric with a spell.
There, now I suppose you need to make sleeping arrangements. There's not enough rooms for all of you, so you will have to share two to a room.
She looks over the halfling

However, I suppose if you wish you could stay with me. It may be nice having someone to talk to. Or, I suppose one could sleep on the couch in the study.

Returning to Kendra's home, even with healing, the cold weather and the exertion of combat wears heavily upon Viktor's form. Too many hours in armor, too many hours sludging through the mud. When they enter into her home, he takes the time to kick his mud off outside before stepping through the threshold.

A small smirk stays upon his face as she thinks better of asking what happened, instead taking the time to mend his shredded clothing.

"Thank you Kendra. Your hospitality is very generous." Looking between the others, he looks at the couch and nods. "Gunnar and I will take the couch, it looks quite comfortable after all." He looks between Filiana and Kendra, clearing his throat for a moment. "I, if I may be bold, still suggest having someone to talk to Kendra. You have been incredibly strong today. I cannot imagine what you're feeling right now."

Filiana looks surprised at the suggestion that she share a room with Kendra, but when the others seem keen to sleep on the couch she smiles at Kendra.

Thank you very much umm, Miss Lorrimor, I would be pleased to share a room with you if you don't mind. Before you go off to rest Viktor ...

Walking across the room to catch him just over by the door to the study, she holds out her hand and says A test to see if I can still do this, and hopefully a little more healing for you...

With that she lets loose a small jet of her Celestial Flame on his wounds.
Celestial Healing: 1d4 ⇒ 2 Every little helps

Once that is done, Filiana, doing her best to look casual, whispers to Viktor. It might be best to check that all the doors and windows are locked before going to sleep. We don't know that those whisperers won't come sniffing around. They might not be content just to have killed the Professor.

I totally realized that I had not yet updated his hit points from the healing from Father Grimburrow! Regardless, it totally works for the scene.

Viktor was already getting ready to settle in for the night when Filiana approached him, the warrior's kind smile spreading on his face. The celestial flame spreads over his flesh and the last of his battle fatigue disappears, fading away and leaving just the exhaustion of a long day hanging upon him.

"Thank you, Filiana. I..." She then whispers her suggestion and his face grows a tad bit more serious, though his smile remains as he nods.

"Don't worry. I will guard the entrance here and ensure nothing comes through to bother us. If you can though, take a look at Ladruca for me? I feel the Inquisitor could use a healer's skill and you seem to know what you're doing."

He would then pull off the heavy chainmail, sighing with relief that the armor was now off. It was even more evident, now that he was out of his armor, of the fighter's impressive physique. Muscles that would compete even with a carnival's strongman and a natural quickness to his step, it all seemed somewhat out of place for his calm demeanor.

"If anyone needs me, I'll be in here. I wish you all the best of rest and may the Gods keep your dreams safe."

Smiling, Keydas says, "No, you probably don't. Thank you for patching the clothing up. I may have to learn that spell myself if we keep ending up in similar situations."

Keydas will thank Kendra for her hospitality again before being shown to a room and bidding the others good night, where he will remove his armor. Though not heavy, he wasn't entirely used to wearing it, nor battling in such dire circumstances. Well, it is one thing to read about and study such creatures, quite another to actually encounter them in battle. Keydas cautiously probes his ribs. He'd felt and heard them crack earlier, heard the breath leave his body before Ladruca's healing had saved him. There was no sign of injury now, but he had come close. Death now walks closer to me than ever before in my life. The Professor encountered him frequently, and so often came away unscathed. Have I the same mettle in me? Or will I break before his glare? Wrestling with such dark thoughts, Keydas takes to bed, allowing troubled sleep to enclose him.

"It was a long night. Worth it though." Nostro says as he enters the house. Claiming whatever room space is open, he changes and then hangs his wet clothes to dry. Of the skin that is now exposed, much of it is littered in scars. Even the ghoul's bite marks seem to have left jagged marks across his arm. Without his armor, it becomes apparent that his size and the sound he makes when he walks doesn't quite match up. Almost as if he was much heavier than his build suggests. "A watch would be wise, if we have the manpower." If there is an empty room, Nostro will claim that one. Otherwise he doesn't care who he rooms with. If there is a watch, Nostro will fill whichever slot we need.

Tomorrow brings a new day, should the Inheritor grant it. There is much to do. I must rest now. Finally laying down in a bed after a draining day, he drifts off to sleep as soon as his head hits the pillow.

Ladruca awakes, and takes a moment to examine his burns. His skin is still pink but his night of rest had taken away the last of the pain. Satisfied that he is in good shape, he heads downstairs, leaving his glasses and scarf in the room.

Entering the room to find tea waiting he takes a mug and nods his greetings to Kendra,Viktor and Keydas.

''Morning. Sleep well i trust?''

He lapses into silence as he ponders what to do for the day.

While he is thinking he remembers Keydas' remark about using bows.

''Keydas, last night I remember you making a remark about being proficient in bowcraft. In the crypt among the items we found we a number of arrows. I lay claim to them but have more than enough of my own. I will split them with you if you wish. There are a number of enchanted, anti-ghost and other undead and some silver ones. Come by my room later if you wish for some.''

There are 29 all told. 12 silver, 10 +1, 5 ghost touch and 2 undead bane. Ladruca will offer half of each and Keydas' choice of 2 or 3 of the ghost touch since they dont divide well.

Im not one for sharing but if he is most proficient with a bow it will serve me best if he is at his most dangerous to our shared enemies.

Deciding what he wants to do today Ladruca turn to address Kendra.

''Kendra, I wish to investigate Harrowstone's past a little further. Are there any former guards, employees or prisoners here in town that I could interrogate? And if not who would I be best served speaking with?

As the rising sun's rays peek through the window of his room, Nostro awakens. Sun is out. Time for work. Silently, he begins the task of cleaning his armor and clothes, and sharpening his sword outside.

His intense focus on sliding a whetstone across his blade is broken by the smell of more tea. Perfect timing. Another few strokes should do it. Gathering his gear, he reenters the house and sits down for breakfast, prepared for the day. "Good morning." He says a little flatly, eager for some food and drink, but not necessarily for company this early in the morning. Nostro spoons some porridge into a bowl and begins to chow down. His focus remains on the meal in front of him until talk of plans for the day reaches his ears.

"I will explore the location of our battle. Search for signs of anything useful. Then I'll investigate the perimeter of Harrowstone. Time permitting, the tavern will be next. Will anyone join me?" Easy work to go alone, but with the oddities abound it wouldn't hurt to have a traveling companion or two. Thinking a little more, he eventually turns to Kendra. "Are there maps of the Restlands?"

DM: I know you said there isn't anything to find, but Nostro would investigate anyways. Since we know there isn't anything of interest, we can just hand wave that part of his day if it is all the same to you.

Viktor nods towards Keydas as he enters, sipping his cup of tea before adding just a tad bit more sugar to get the flavoring perfect. "I slept well. That couch is somehow nicer than the cots at the guard barracks, truth be told. I was expecting a little bit of ache but the encounter we had yesterday helped ease me to sleep."

Ladruca soon enters and the warrior nods towards him, watching the dhampir settle in and sip from his tea. He makes no comment upon the arrows, they were not his weapon of choice and his place was to be on the frontline of the battle. He did speak up when their conversation was done, opening up the pack and pulling out the different items. There was the darkwood case with the image of a scarab upon it, within it a spirit board with a brass spirit planchette as well as the four iron and glass vials that were known as haunt siphons. The five potions of cure light wounds was spread out, the two potions of lesser restoration, the scroll of detect undead. the two scrolls of hide from undead, and the scroll of protection from evil was also place out upon the table nearby.

LizardWizard, I notice that you initially describe there being four if them but then say that the six vials were haunt siphons. Just want to clarify how many are there.

"We should also split up our resources. The Father said we could use all of them but would prefer if we return any unused items back to him when we are done. I am also certain that, should the need arise, would could speak to him about any immediate healing. Be able to get us combat ready in case we encounter difficulties."

When Nostro enters the sitting room, Viktor gives the man a warm smile that isn't just politeness. The two of them had spilled blood last night in the pursuit of ending terrible abominations, all of these people had earned a measure of respect and friendship within the guardian's heart.

"I will join you in checking for more dangers there, as well as accompanying you to the tavern. A drink after a successful patrol is always useful." He looks to the scrolls, running a hand along his chin. "Are we simply investigating or are we going to try and cleanse what we find? These scrolls could be useful in that endeavor, a potion as well." Gunnar slowly enters in, yawning and headbutting Viktor gently in the leg. "Of course, Gunnar. Kendra? Do you have some milk and food for my friend here?"

There were 4, the other 6 had already been taken. Likely by the professor. Also, Gregor, where will you be reading/researching at, and what on. Nostro, how close do you plan to get to Harrowstone? Its a very large prison, even comes with a guard tower or two. Kendra nods
Yes, me and Filiana had a good talk. Though it was short, she quickly fell fast asleep. It seems yesterday took a lot out of her.

She offers each of you a token meal, some sliced fruit, a bit of bread and some cheese.
Sorry, I've not had a chance to properly purchase the proper food for so many people. I'll likely go in to town and do that today. My father was a man in more money than I thought he was. She says with a sad grin.

Filiana wakes rather later than she usually does and finds to her surprise that she is alone in the room. The sunlight is streaming in through the window and she is snuggled down under a blanket on a small sofa in Kendra's room.

Goodness, what is the time? How late have I slept?

She glances across at Kendra's bed and see that she is gone.

Hmm, either I was very very asleep, or Kendra can be very quiet when she wants to be... Anyway, time to get up I suppose.

Clambering off the sofa, she does her best to tidy herself up after the trials of the previous day. She washes her hands and face with water from a bowl on the bedside, and then sits for a few minutes humming a tune and brushing out her hair with an old brush from her bag that has seen better days. She looks at the brush for a moment when she finishes and as she puts it away again says Perhaps when I get this money, I will buy myself a new brush.

That done, she will pat down her patched tunic and pants in a vain attempt to make them appear less rumpled and then with a sigh will venture forth in search of breakfast and the rest of the group.

Arriving in the room, Filiana sees the equipment from the crypt laid out and hears the plans for the day being discussed. At first she says nothing, not wanting to interrupt and just listens quietly as she pours herself a cup of tea. Taking her first sip of the tea, she smiles to herself. Then a look of worry appears on her face and she speaks up...

Excuse me... I don't want to be telling anyone what they should be doing or any such thing, but the Professor in his will pretty specifically asked us to stay here to keep Kendra safe. That is why we aren't setting out for Lepidstadt already. Shouldn't one of you be accompanying her in to town to keep her safe?

Ladruca finds himself nodding at Filiana's suggestion,

That may not be a bad idea. It does us no good to save her by defending the town if she gets cut down by herself in town. On the other hand.....

''You may be right Filiana, but on the other hand we are still an unknown element in town. It is just as likely that the sight of one of us, particularly Gregor,Nostro or myself, accompanying her might bring Kendra more negative attention then she needs.'' He turns to address Kendra specifically. ''Do you believe you require an escort? If so I suggest we send Viktor,Filiana or even Gunnar. Until we have more rapport in town it is probably best to send one of our least conspicuous members of our little band.''

He then returns to his breakfast while he considers his plans for the day. After a little bit he stands up.

''I am not sure about the rest of you but I intend to head into town and make certain inquiries. I will also go and speak with the mayor and give him a quick update on recent events. Viktor, afte that I will join you and Nostro at the tavern, as you said it might be a good way to unwind and maybe learn something. And Kaydas would you like to join me when I see the mayor? "Viktor. I will circle the perimeter of the prison. Get a feel for the surrounding land. A healing potion or two for yourself should be enough. Do you know how to use a haunt siphon? Lacking a priest, bringing one for each of us will work to our benefit." Viktor waits quietly though, listening to the others decide what ventures they were going to go with today. It seemed that Lady Kendra would have the escort she would need and between Ladruca and Keydas, they would investigate more into the town. Nostro's plan was tactical and intelligent and Viktor would give an approving nod. "Seems the paladin is not a fool. I heard some strange and foolish tales of the more foolhardy of their ilk."

"I have heard of them but not put them into practice before, your instruction would be most appreciated. I'll grab two potions, just in case things go poorly. We'll fight smart today, not foolishly." He looks back over the others now, standing up and stretching which leads to another complaint from Gunnar. Walking over to the table, he takes another haunt siphon and two potions of cure light wounds. Looking back to the others, his focus resides upon Filiana before he gives a nod.

"Filiana, what is it you are wishing to do today? I would ask you to join us upon the perimeter but I do not want to put you in harm's way more than necessary. Perhaps you can help the Lady with her errands and get more of a feel of the people within Ravengro? Unless...you are alright joining us?"

"A sorcereress is nothing to discount, after all. She may have useful abilities that will enhance both Nostro and I or see something we do not." He thinks to himself, a friendly smile upon his lips as he looks between the group.

"Whatever your decision, I will be fine with it. I need to gather my things and head out."

Taking one haunt siphon and two potions of cure light wounds, only if no one minds. If Filiana joins us, awesome. If she wishes to do something else, please narrate that Nostro and I get going to do the greatest buddy cop movie ever. Gunnar, of course, comes with us.

Upon Arriving, you see two townsfolk gaping at a large letter V written in carefully in blood. Across the statue and ground is splattered blood. Next to the statue lies a dead dog that appears completely bled out.

Keydas, Ladruca,

As you enter town, you all pause before reaching the general store due to a moaning in a small alley. You look over and see a drunken man huddled down half covered with filth and muck. His moans seem to show quite a bit of distress or pain. Kendra gives a small sigh and goes to help him.
