small question for later, possibly. How open to you all as far as character tampering goes? Minor things really, most of it would be for character development but I don't want to do something and then upset someone. I have some fun ideas but just wanted to run it past you guys.

also, all rioters will be shot on grounds of being rebel scum. All your abilities will be stricken from you and you will live the rest of your life as commoners permanently stuck at level 1. All hail the Empire.

Character tampering in what way? I've had GMs with a very different definition of minor than I have, so I'm a little hesitant about this. A little more detail would help a lot. You can PM me if you don't want to post things out in the open.

As long as it improves the story and doesn't go contrary to what I've stated about my character ill probably be cool with it. But as you said we'll wait and see.

I'd be open to it. But I'd be better able to answer that question with an example.


Ehhh. It's normally a on the moment thing. But, as an example, keydas rolled a 20 on his knowledge roll for his ability, I would say he no longer needs to roll for that specific enemy type at this point. Or say he rolls a one, he would believe he is right to the point he would need substantial evidence to prove he is wrong before he can't attempt to learn about the enemy.

It's not so much that I'm changing the character really, I'll just open up choices and it's nothing to be worries for I think. Some players just really don't like GMs touching their characters.

I am fine with critical success and critical failures...except in the vein of combat. If you do it that way, a level 20 tends to throw his sword away more often than a level 1 fighter because he rolls more. Critical Failures in combat bother me and make me sad.

As for knowledges and things like that or interesting results, I'm all for interesting results. Hell, Viktor and Gunnar can become battle-scarred and everything, I'd like it.


.I tend to keep 20s as crits, 1s as misses.
The nat 20 was just a simple mechanical example of something.

That certainly sounded like the Sheriff's intention. However, given that we will be roaming around (and Viktor had suggested he might guard the monument for a while) it is certainly a possibility that we will run into him first.

That's what I was thinking about with Filiana's comment. Given that the Sheriff has said he will arrest him, if we turn up with his corpse the next morning it will, given how crazy suspicious everyone is, look like we killed him to keep the Sheriff from questioning him.
