Unless we spent more than 4 hours travelling and interrogating warmblooded guy, Varanog is still floating using his draconic heritage powers, so he have no problems gliding down there using floating disc


To the North of the cavenis a sturdy wooden scaffold topped with a platform allows access to the edge of a cliff twenty feet above. A ladder ascends the side of the scaffold from the bottom of the cavern.

Varanog moved his floating disc to the stairs and used that to glide over the ladder and check the platform.

In the south east part of the cave is a tunnel. It's curve makes it impossible to determine to see past the bend.

Varanog spend some time tinkering near the portal and then slipped back.

Not entirely sure where you want to leave your runes. Can you mark them on the map? (I left two arcane symbols for you! :-) )


Fazgyn moves deeper into the tunnel which turns into a cavern that slopes upward from its southern edge. Three slopes give the chamber a stark slant. The northern edge of the cavern ends in a plateau connected to various side caverns.

As Varanog has a really close look of the hound he tries to recognize the creature from his knowledge.

Varanog identifies the creature as a Shadow Mastiff. Tireless hunters, stealthy trackers, and deadly predators, shadow mastiffs stalk the dark corners of the Outer Planes, preying upon all beings that stray from the light. These beasts have little in common with actual canines aside from their general forms (although with the notable addition of a long, spiked tail), their bodies being the evolution of countless centuries hunting the most merciless wildernesses of the Outer Planes and the Shadow Plane. On the Material Plane, they prefer to travel in shadow, moving soundlessly and unseen to find prey, hunting in vicious sport just as often as in hunger. Shadow mastiffs stand over 4 feet tall, with most weighing nearly 300 pounds. This one however is only a pup!

It has Shadow Blend, so 50% miss chance! and it can Bay to panick creatures.

Varanog was caught by surprise, and in current situation all he could do is hope to win some time.
