Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

The dog is from the pound. She was abandoned by the local interstate. Vet guesses she's about a year old. She's a mutt, almost pure white, ice-blue eyes so she's got some husky. I see German shepard in her ears and body lines. Some people have guessed bull terrier is in there too. There's a squareness to her face.

Our current joke is that she's the best looking member of our family. People on the street will just say she's beautiful.

As sweet-tempered a dog as I've ever owned, but she needs a lot of exercise, and walking isn't enough.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Neil, glad to have you back. Hope you're fully recovered and met your deadline.

I am. And I did. :-)

Thom, I know you prefer 'core' material for Pathfinder, how are you on APG material? I ask as I have (finally) obtained my copy of it ...

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I'm still confined to core. Post what you want from the APG and I'll take a look and make a decision.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

It's nothing major - although the APG has a fighter variant I could use, I'm already set on course with Emerion anyway. There's one feat I can see that I'd want but I need to get my other features in place before I go there, so it's several levels away.

Spoiler:

Furious Focus (Combat)
Even in the midst of fierce and furious blows, you can find focus in the carnage and your seemingly wild blows strike home.
Prerequisites: Str 13, Power Attack, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: When you are wielding a two-handed weapon or a one-handed weapon with two hands, and using the Power Attack feat, you do not suffer Power Attack’s penalty on melee attack rolls on the first attack you make each turn. You still suffer the penalty on any additional attacks, including attacks of opportunity.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Actually, forget I asked, it's not really going to help much and I'll have better things to spend my feats on anyway.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Jammed at work. May be Monday before I post. Sooner if lucky.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

The swim fin question.

From Wellard's original query:

Swim Fins (1sp for a pair), Source Adventurer's Armory p13 - Swim fins add 10 feet to your swimming speed but reduce your base speed to 5 feet. Donning or doffing swim fins requires 5 rounds.

I thought about adding a +2 to swim checks with them on. It makes sense to me. It could be the cheapest skill bonus ever, but how often do you get to use them? 10' seemed a little fast, but 5 is too slow. So ya. Anyone have anything against a swim bonus?

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

None at all, I think that's most reasonable.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

real life cropping up. slow/no posting today or tomorrow.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

GUys, sorry, words have sort of failed me the last few days.

Travelling for work 3-4 days this week. Should have evening internet. Probably 1 post from me per day.

The Exchange

I know how you feel, TT. My pbp's are a bit lower down the pecking order at the mo.

Cheers

FIred up about posting again. Got stalled on flights yesterday, didn't get home til late. WOrk's messy. Tonight.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Is Neil on deadline again? We haven't heard from him in a while.

Contributor, RPG Superstar 2009, RPG Superstar Judgernaut

Yes. Yes, he is... :-)

I have one on Monday, in fact. And after that, another one before November. And then, December...

Eesh.

Carry on without me. I'll pop in as I can. But, in addition to my freelance deadlines, my day job is also slamming me pretty hard right now, too. It's our fiscal year-end and everyone's trying to cram in everything that didn't manage to wrap up during the rest of the year. And that would include me... :-(

The price of success. Good luck, Neil.

Well done Niel!

Very impressive Neil, a toast to your talents and effort.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping it's a stepping stone to further fiction opportunities down the line. One can hope, at least...

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

While it's on my mind -- Tomorrow (Thursday, I'm leaving for my parents. Mom's 70th birthday.) I might be able to get somewhere with internet once a day, but even that is unlikely. I return home late Sunday.

The Exchange

In a similar vein I will be busy with family and friends for the next two weeks so posting will be a bit up and down.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

No net for a long weekend. See you all Mon night or Tuesday.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Guys, just heard that FW had his appendix out, hospitalized until at least today.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Yesterday work emptied a bag of feces into the ol' ten inch three speed oscillator. I'll be down to one post a day for the next week.

No sweat . . . and I'll level up Keliwyn today or tomorrow. I just need to pick a feat and edit the sheet.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Ah yes, our other rogue ... we have gone from too few to too many!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Well, three rogues add up to a fighter (=-p) so I think it will all work out.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Actually thus far Emerion hasn't done too badly as a front-rank fighter. Deadly Defence has really paid for itself so far, giving him some extended hitting power he'd otherwise lack. Combat Expertise gives him a good AC ... I'd say this 'clever, quick & skilful' fighter concept is working pretty well!

Three rogues moving in concert and sneak attacking should be able to bring most things down fairly fast. Add in Heather's ranged touches into melee and Jeoriks smites and we have a pretty high damage output.

Spoiler:
Well when we can actually hit something

Male Half-elf (Chelaxian) Stalker 6, AC18/14/14, F +3/R +10/W +7, Init +8, Hits 16/38

Kenan is a healer! Who's been talking? Who?

As a non-multiclasser, Keliwyn is the only true rogue.

Just sayin'

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Rogue isn't just a class, it's a vocation!

He's got pointed ears, like Spock. // AC 17, FF 14, T 15 // HP 68/73 // F,R,W 7,11,4 // Percept 14 + // Init +4

Rogue isn't just a class, it's a vacation!

Fixed that for you.

Hey get back to Sandpoint.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Work will continue hot and heavy until Wednesday, then I'll be out of town for Thanksgiving. Single post per day til Wednesday. No posts til Monday following that. Work should return to normal after Thanksgiving.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

You know, when Heather's original player laid out her Dickensianly overly connected back-story I was way sceptical. But, Wellard, I've got to say I really like the Heather-Sabrina flashbacks.

As indeed, I enjoy reading all of your posts. You guys keep this game fresh.

Yes, it's good the way she works it in, isn't it?

I'll have to put in a few flashbacks of my own at some point ... can't have Wellard get away with all the fun!

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Everyone, now that there are so many games going on the boards, our thread can drop off page 1 pretty easily, especially since I'm posting one per day or so. (Which will unfortunately continue Monday and Tuesday next week.) Please check page two. We might be waiting for you.

This IS the internet you know ... Alegedly human Expert (IT) 5/Ninja 3/Witch 7

Easiest way? right-click on 'last' at the top of the page and bookmark the link into a folder in your bookmarks/favourites. That bookmark will then take you straight to the latest page.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

WOrk continuess brutaly. I'll be on reduced posting for a couple days.

Speaking of reduced posting, Neil Spicer! Are you going to be super busy this month judging and advising and what not? Shall we ever see Akorian again? (Just wondering. Your choice. I've got a week of red herrings for the rest of the party before the play starts.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3

Wait, Neil is going to be busy this month? I must have missed something. :P

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Billzabub. Are you still playing Keliwyn?

Hi, Wicht! I was going to go to bed early, but it seems a lot of my PbP friends are on right now. Is your whole family going to try Superstar again?

I think I'll give it a pass this year. Too much other stuff going on.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Expert 3/Cleric 3

Me and the boys are giving it a shot. I'm not sure whether either of my daughters will this year or not.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

That's cool. To some degree I envy you. I put my boy right off gaming with one really awful DMing decision.

Not only is RPG Superstar going to tie me down, but I've got my Carrion Crown vampire-themed adventure kicking my butt. I just got some feedback from Rob and they want to change some things in my outline. So, I'm now further behind than I thought I was. So, unlikely to hear much substantive from me until January or thereabouts...though I'll pop in now and then, of course.

Can you spill the beans before my four-year-old gets interested?

I have an idea for Superstar but design creativity is proving to be a bit of a weak spot. However not entering last year, felt like a mistake during the competition. Its only 200 words after all.

Good luck with the Christmas writing Neil. And 2 kids. And a job. Impressive.

Cheers
