Opening the door you find yourselves in a strange room. The walls of this hall bulge and curve with unsettingly organic concavities. Thousands of sinuous etchings trace their way down the walls, as if the walls were scarred by roots or marred by burrowing worms fleeing some peril from above. Three staircases arch, dip, and intertwine as they ascend dizzingly to a series of hexagonal passageways.

Penith will concentrate her fire on teh one Trevor is trying to end. So she picks up a nice limestone rock from her pack, kind of shaped like Trevor's head, which is odd. The similarity is odd, not Trevor's head.

Penith's telekinetic shield takes most of the piercing pain of the first arrow, just getting through enough to draw a dribble of blood. A happy achievement, she thinks... right before the second arrow slams right through her shoulder.

In a side area of the stairs you can now see a partial cocoon of sorts made up of seeded tendrils. There appears to be a figure inside.

Just looked it up, and the magical breastplate would limit my Dex bonus so much that it wouldn’t actually help me very much, I’ll stick with the Mithral chain for now.

"I can try from a distanct, in case gross stuff pours out?" Penith offers, and if accepted will use her knife and her mind to open up the cocoon carefully.

Using her mind to power it, Penith cuts the figure free. Once released you find that it is a human male. He appears weak and dehydrated and he looks as if he will soon turn into a seedborne creature. He seems to babble and his mind seems to be no longer his own.
