"As far as the drawing goes, it says the subject of the artwork is at the northwestern corner of the asylum grounds. Might be worth investigating," Domeric suggested.

"Do what now?" Domeric asked, shaking his head, "In any case, it can be something to look into when we have a way to deal with the fog. I doubt there's anything further to be found here, where to next?"

From behind the group a vultures cry gives way to and eagles screech as a red haired woman with wide dazed eyes turns the corner.

"I have been following you" she says affectlessly.

She is has tattoo down both arms. On the back of the left hand is a hynea jaw eating bones. On her right is stag with jeweled antlers.

She claws at the tattoo on her left hand and the blood drips onto the flood. As she does this the vulture on he shoulder transforms into a black eagle. Her right hand flashes with bright white light.

She remove the animal jaw bone that sits atop her own jaw and allows it to clatter to the ground.

"Where are we? I think I want to leave."

Domeric looks a little startled at the sudden arrival, and seems slightly more alarmed as she starts clawing at herself, but quickly gathers himself. Her fashion sense seemed a bit odd, but then again, for all he knew, this was the norm around here.

"Well, if you want out, you're in good company," he said pleasantly, "We're in Briarstone Asylum, or so I am told, and it seems that it is well past time that we all checked out. Who might you be? There's been quite a few doppelgangers and other unsavory sorts running about of late..."


So on to D6

Worn old chairs and small tables set with the scattered pieces of simple games lay scattered throughout this room. A serving hatch in the north wall opens into a darkened space beyond. Vast glass windows dominate the eastern walls, beyond which a jaundiced kaleidoscope swirls hypnotically. A coppery smell permeates the room, and to the west stands a wall of red.

Sitting in a wheelchair before the bay windows to the east is the body of an old woman. From beneath the chair runs an endless stream of blood.

"My name is Senn. I don't think I'm a doppelganger, but I don't know for sure."

You can clearly see her blood is red.

"I will see what I can do to help us get out of here."

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Senn, friendly faces have been few and far between here. Name's Domeric," Domeric said.

"I don't suppose you remember anything of how you came to be in this unfortunate place?" he asked, before seeing the woman in the chair, "Well, that can't be good," he muttered, not entering the room but instead scanning the area from the doorway with Detect Magic.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8


There is nothing magical in the room but you do see that the trail of blood is running from the chair.

Her bird does the same.

Atajay nods to th newcomer, admiring the tattoos, relieved to see the red blood. ”We’ve already found all kind of nightmares here. Getting out of here would be great!”

A plain face with tuffs of dull brown hair framing it peaks from around the corner. will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Followed by a gulp at the sight of blood, a quick hand over the mouth, retreating from view, and after many retches later, she appears back again. Her eyes darting to each of the others with more than a little fear in them, "I... I'm Penith, and I've been following her." she pointes a finger at Senn "She's a person, I'm pretty sure. Me too. Please don't kill us."

"I... I think you were focused on trying to not step on those... bodies we passed earlier." her eyes dart worriedly to the others and the various blood / gore general combat flings on a person. "The Not People bodies, which we are not part of."

Penith doesn't mention she is generally quiet and goes unnoticed by most people.

"Well, there were a couple moments where I almost convinced myself that we weren't all going to be eaten by some tentacled monstrosity with too many teeth. Quite silly of me, really," Domeric said with a wan smile, as the exhaustion from all the recent activity and stress started to set in, coupled with the daunting tasks that likely still lay ahead.

Does this seem like a creature or a haunt? In either case what do I know about it?

It is indeed a haunt. It seems to be linked to the corpse. It looks as if the patient died while she was waiting to be given her medicine.

"I'm a little foggy on exorcisism stuff. But when a person dies traumaticly thier spirit binds itself to a location. Healing energies can purge the place or you can help settle the soul. It seems she died waiting for medicine."

Penith stumbles back as the blood moves on its own and charges the people she just met. Senn's words make sense... "Healing energies?" she mumbles looking down at her hands, "I... might." vague memories of touching hurt pets and kniting them back together spike momentarily.

Kinetic Healer has to be done to a willing living target so I doubt it would work.

The thought of touching the charging blood thing though makes her cringe so instead she darts over to the wheelchair to see if she can determine anything else that can be done.

Atajay also has the ability to use healing magic. If he notices it works and the haunt is still present, he uses a cure light wounds spell.
