Sorry if I'm coming off as "rules-lawyerish", which I usually am not, but as a novice PFS GM I feel that I need to stick more to RAW than I probably usually would. That being said, we can just say you took 10 and you achieve the same gold amount, no harm no foul.

Also a note on the Mask--while it is a very good item, flavor-wise it can create some odd situations. The mask literally transforms your face into that of a stone statue and makes your voice an emotionless monotone. So in your example in the gameplay thread, while your bluff result would stand, none of the subtlety of your emotions would be conveyed. You would just sound like a robotic statue saying what you said. Does that make sense?

EDIT: I'd rolled pretty crappy on that, anyway. I have craft at +12 that I would have used if that doesn't work.

Also, I'm a player in a game (Acel is running it) and when it's done (probably in a couple days) I'm going to run The Segang Expedition with three of those players. So I have three slots open.

Acel is out (already played it), which leaves Ma'Huuk, Omar, Faellyn, and Saarai.

Do any of you 4 want to play in this? I'll offer it to Ma'Huuk, Omar, and Faellyn first because Saarai is already Level 3. This will be another step towards Level 3 and the sequel.

Just let me know here if you're interested, unavailable, or you have already run it. I've played it and I thought it was fun, FWIW.

I have run the Slave Master's mirror, but have not played it. It was one of my favorites as a GM. I did not even realize it was a sequel.

I may be interested, but not with Ma'Huuk. I have a Vudrani Sovereign Court gal that would be ideal, though. :)

Out of curiosity, what happens when a level 4 joins level 2's? Do they just get less gold?

Well, I think the most important thing is the players should get to have fun and enjoy the scenario and how they are contributing to it. Everybody got to contribute in their own way, which made it fun. I also think out-of-the-box thinking should be rewarded.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

As for your question: If everyone is level 1 and you are level 4, the APL would still be low enough to be tier 1-2. I believe you would get the lower gold and items. I just think it would be not as fun for you if you used a Level 4 in a Tier 1-2 game because you could easily stomp all the combat encounters, you know?

I did love the out-of-the-box play. Way fun!
