GM Zoomba |

So, barring Lukaas piping in, it seems you are giving the cloak to Sukune and the hide from undead potion to Killia. The cure potion and the swimming elixer do not have a home yet, though once you head out I'd only need to know who's holding the healing potion.
Also, is anyone going to use or bring the bracers or the sword, or are you leaving them behind?

![]() |

Do the bracers stack with the other armor?
"Sukune, you should take the sword. I guess you are the only one who could use it properly. Probably, we will need it later. This must be important, otherwise Kalkamedes wouldn't put an old broken sword in a box with security and hide.""Taking and looking at the sword. Why Kalkamedes is guarding you? Why are you so special? It seems like the other things are his adventure belongings, but you are broken and he is still guarding you." looking to the group. "I'm not crazy fellows, I just thought in loud voice."

![]() |

Therin will hold on to the Cure pot and will carry the sword for a backup for someone.
Well, all we do now is wait for Kalkamedes to start wandering. We could be in for a long night....perhaps someone could make some tea? It might help us stay awake through the night. Therin muses to allay any trepidations anyone might have.

![]() |

Killia attaches the potion to his bandolier when he hears no dissent from the group and nods slightly. He ponders for a moment and swiftly checks over his musket to ensure it is primed, loaded and not damaged with a practiced ease.
"I am ready to go, mayhaps we put the bracers on Kalkemedes? He does not sleep in armour I see. But whatever we do, let us press on."

![]() |

I use lighter weapons than this sword.
Says Lukaas showing his rapier
Putting the bracers on Kalkemedes would be a good idea, it will protect him without hindering his movements. Maybe we should tie his legs together so he does only small steps? That way he won't be able to run away...

GM Zoomba |

The suggestion to tie Kalkamedes’ legs together earns a stern rebuke from Shiela Heidmarch. ”We have no idea exactly how far you will need to travel to get to…wherever it is he seems to want to get to. Preemptively hobbling him only makes it that much more likely you won’t be able to finish your mission before dawn brings us back to square one!”
The venture captain collects herself, then readies her knife. ”So, if you are prepared I wish you the best of luck. Take good care of him.” She then cuts the ties binding the Pathfinder to the bed, careful to duck around the occasionally flailing limb.
Assuming we are all set (and a rope has been loosely looped around Kalkamedes)…
Immediately after Sheila Heidmarch finishes cutting his bonds, Kalkamedes totters towards the door of the cabin, gently bumping into a wall in his way before his sleeping form finds the portal and stumbles outside. The night sky is clear with a waning quarter crescent moon that provides dim light to you as the Kalkamedes’ staggering gait propels him blindly northward. As you follow him, the immediate area ahead appears slightly hilly, but relatively clear.
I will need to know in general how you are accompanying Kalkamedes for now; feel free to let me know if you wish to change your relative positions later. Are you behind him, next to him, all scouting ahead, etc.

![]() |

Before leaving, Baphos jumps from the bed, takes the bracers and put them on Kalkamedes.
Baphos walks next to Sukune who is following Kalkamedes with the rope. I suppose we are 10 feet from Kalkamedes, at least Sukune says something different. Anyway, I'm next to the big fellow.

As they leave the hut, Killia unslings his musket and holds it rwady across his body before setting off, ensuring to keep ahead of the plodding Kalkamedes, keeping his eyes out for any theeats or unfortunate change of terrain.
will stay about 10' ahead in mechanics terms, keeping. An eye out.

![]() |

Idril places a hand on the hilt of his blade and follows the sleepwalking mad along with the rest of his fellow Pathfinders. He keeps a fair distance from Kalkamedes and walks behind the man and a considerable distance off to the man's right, and keeps an eye out for trouble.

The seven of you set off into the seasonably warm night. The foothills around you are calm and quiet, with the silence punctuated only by your footsteps, the clinking of armor, and the occasional loud snore by your charge.
Kalkamedes continues along at a steady but slow pace 20 ft move speed. He lurches from side occasionally, but his body always corrects itself and continues unerringly to the north. The monotonous routine is broken after about a half-hour when suddenly the sleeping Pathfinder stumbles and falls to the ground! Each of you jumps to attention scanning for a threat, but as Kalkamedes picks himself up you realize the man had just tripped over a rock. Getting to his feet, Kalkamedes begins lurching forward once again, still unconscious.

GM Zoomba |

As the seven of you continue along, Kalkamedes' stride seems slightly more irregular then before. It's barely noticeable at first, but his steps slowly begin to drag and lurch. After about six minutes, you suddenly notice the problem: the poor man's leg seems to have been sprained by his fall!
Unfortunately, Kalkamedes keeps moving forward, oblivious to how his movements with the untreated leg keep aggravating the injury.

![]() |

Spotting the hobbling Kalkemedes, Killia hurries to the man's side, tearing off the bottom of his cloak he examines the wound.
"Any of us here know how to form a splint, I can do a rudimentary one, but will aid a skilled person".

Baphos runs next to Kalkamedes, looks what Killia is trying to do. "I am not skilled to help the way you are trying, but I can heal him."
Baphos moves gently his hands and pronounces few words in halfling.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"I guess I will walk next to Kalkamedes trying to avoid new injuries with objects on his way"

![]() |

Baphos takes the wand and carefully put it in his backpack. "Thank you, big fellow. I will use this to cure the group."
Is this wand a 1d8 + 1? Can I use it without use magic device?

GM Zoomba |

Killia and Theirn rush forward to examine the sprain. However, while they're able to asses it would be nigh impossible to properly set it while Kalkamedes is moving, the two of them are unsure of how best to make a splint with the materials at hand.
Baphos chants a few words and taps the Pathfinder's foot, almost all of the injury appears to be healed as his skin seems to ripple as ligaments underneath knit themselves together. A small injury still seems to have not quite been fully healed by the halfling's magic however, and as Kalkamedes continues on you can tell he risks aggravating the ankle further.

![]() |

"It seems like my spell didn't help as I was thinking"
Baphos takes Sukune's wand from his backpack and casts a new Cure Light Wound.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
After casting Baphos puts the wand carefully in his backpack.

GM Zoomba |

At this second surge of healing, Kalkamedes' ankle seems to fully recover. The sleeping man does not give even a grunt of gratitude, but as he stumbles forward he seems to walk in perfect health.
Another half-hour passes, mostly uneventfully. Then, cresting a hill, Killia notices a large, thick copse of branches and thorns ahead. Turning behind him, he sees that Kalkamedes and the rest of the group will soon be headed straight for it!
Killia can see (and the rest very soon will) that the thorn thicket seemes to be about 60 feet wide, with Kalkamedes headed straight for the center of it.

survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Killia, spotting the rough undergrowth before the rest quickly assesses he danger to the pyjama clad Kalkemedes. So he turns to the group and speaks quickly.
"Razor Bramble, it would seem Kalkemedes has already forced his way through here before, it will tear the legs of those not armoured against it. I doubt his bracers will help too much. Sulune, any chance you can steer him around it somehow? Or is anyone capable of clearing a path?"

GM Zoomba |

Therin damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Therin hacks away at the bit of razor bramble at the edge of the copse, but while he breaks some of the weeds he doesn’t manage to clear even a full five-foot region yet.
As he beats away at the plants however, a stern voice sounds from his backpack. ”Not the worst maneuver, but if your swings are like those it will take some time. Do you happen to have any fire on you?”
Meanwhile, Kalkamedes continues his night march…
Kalkamedes is around 60 feet away from the bramble patch.

![]() |

You can see consternation on Baphos face. "Sukune, stop to Kalkamedes while we look how to clean the path. I know you can do it." there also is surprise on his face when he listened to the voice coming from the Therin's backpack. "Fire? Some one has fire? Wait a minute, is this a good idea?"

![]() |

Survival? Is fire a good idea?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
"It is not the worst suggestion Therin... Wait, you didn't say that?"
Killia looks bemused for a moment before fiddling with his bandoliers, finding a flask of orange viscous liquid.
"Whatever we decide, we should decide quickly, I am sure SUkune could hold him, but we have a time limit. I can use this to clear a path."

GM Zoomba |

Sukune manages to grapple Kalkamedes, but the man already begins to wriggle and struggle to attempt to get out of the hulking man's grasp.
"Fire's been used to clear brush for millenia, hasn't it? Burn a way through and all?" The same voice chimes out from Therin's bag.
Killia: These thick weeds would be quite vulnerable to fire. Though in your experience, the copse is deep enough that one alchemist's fire would only reach a short way into to tangle; torches would be a longer-term solution.
Sukune is grappling Kalkamedes for now. That will give the rest of you about a round's worth of action before Kalkamedes will try to get free and he'll need to try to maintain control. Keeping in mind positioning, right now Therin and Killia are by the brambles, and the rest of you are about 50 feet away (though if Idril wants to start moving forward as Sukune grapples that fine for his turn).
Based on Therin's first attempt to whack his way through, he thinks each 'square' of the razor bramble will take some ammount of damage to get through, and the growth's density makes it resistant to some of each hit (minor hardness).

![]() |

"Whatever you will do, do it now. We should wait until fire is under control to cross." Baphos stands next to Sukune and he is ready to cast something on Kalkamedes, if it is needed to keep control over him.

![]() |

Idril continues his advance and draws his blade. He begins to hack away at the brush as quickly as he can to clear the way for the sleepwalker.
katana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

GM Zoomba |

Idril finishes hacking away at the spot Theril had already been working on. At this new assault, he manages to clear about five feet of space from the tangle, though looking ahead he thinks there's at least 30 feet more to go before it begins to clear.
You won't need an attack roll for this if you are trying to cut/bash away razor bramble, just a damage roll
Right now we have:
Sukune - grappling Kalkamedes
Baphos - moving towards Sukune/Kalkamedes to assist as needed
Idril - Cut away some razor bramble
Killia - drew and lit torch
Therin and Lukaas can still take an action this round before Kalkamedes will try to do something.

![]() |

Lukaas dashes to the other side of the brambles and tries to put them on fire, using an alchemic fire flask, so that the fire will have died when Karamekes will reach this side of the vegetation

GM Zoomba |

Lukaas, the bramble patch is sixty feet across, you can start trying to circle it, but will not reach it until the next round.
As Therin lights his own torch to help burn away the razor-sharp weeds, the bard begins to hurry around to the other end of the razor-bramble.
Meanwhile, Kalkamedes continues to squirm against Sukune’s grip.
CMB attempt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Despite the strength of the occultist, the sleeping Pathfinder manages to break free, and staggers another 20 feet straight ahead towards the bramble.
You all now have another ‘round’ to do what you wish. Kalkamedes is still 30 feet away, and you have cleared 5 feet of a path through the thick bramble so far. For torches, given the nature of this they will deal 1d6 fire damagex1.5 each round as you attempt to burn away a path.

![]() |

Baphos is worried, he feels useless. However, he runs 40 feet so now he would be 20 feet from Kalkamedes and 10 feet from the bramble. Waiting to see what happens.
