For tagline info, I'd like it if you could include: Color, Race, Class, Hp, AC, Initiative, Perception.

I'll post the first official gameplay post sometime later today. The frame of reference for all your characters is that you have been stationed at an Allies encampment for training, with varying degrees of success. You may have found some companions you've grown to trust, or maybe even been exposed to a bit of racism.

Feel free to add in details about people you know or past experiences.

Hope you're all ready to get started.

Doing a bit of pre-planning as well, so when possible please private message me what kind of themes you see specifically for your character that go beyond color.

For example: Red could be passion of battle, artifacts, fire and magma, dragons, etc. Blue could be minds, dreams, control, knowledge, wizards, etc.

And so forth. I think you can all guess why I'm asking this early. Though to be clear, this is for player input, end results may vary.

Just want to put this out there for the party: I'm probably going to take the Moon path and wildshape into combat.
I'm not sure how much of a front-line we've currently got since I usually see rogues/monks played as skirmishers, so that should add some tankiness once we get to lvl 2.

That would be good. Looks like we actually have no tanking at the moment. The vampires could have decent toughness though, due to their healing bite.


My character will be a front liner. I'm gonna go for heavier armor and I use sword and board.

There seems to be a few issues with some of your characters. Minor mistakes unless I missed a ruling somewhere.

Tes: I don't believe you should have a feat as that's a human variant which trades out the ability increase they receive in each ability.

Vitrius: could you explain where the 12 hit points came from? I believe you should only have 1d8 + CON modifier.

Hmmm, you may be right DM, I'll check the players guide tomorrow and adjust accordingly.

Hmm...I'll check Hero Labs math as soon as I am back at my computer... I think I see what happened though. Zendikar vampire I entered as a new race, but it counted the first HD all humanoids get and the class HD, rather than replace it. I'll fix that...

So the next post is up, but I haven't had a chance to set up the battle map completely yet. I'm using roll 20 (you will need an account, hopefully not a problem), unless someone suggests a better solution. I should have the map ready sometime tomorrow. Until then, ready yourselves for combat.

Her primary form of attack at this stage is the Thorn Whip cantrip (+4 to hit, 1d6 piercing damage, melee spell attack with range up to 30ft, pulls hit enemy up to 10ft).

Tes: In 5e, concentrating on a spelll doesn't take your action. You can attack, cast a non-concentration spell, or take the dodge action.

A quick question.

Do you prefer keeping knowledge secret to characters in game, or posting freely?

Normally in-person games its tend to hide certain information which is entirely possible with PbP games. However, having info out there may save on redundant posting (I tell someone something, and then they have to convey it to the others) and you might also lose out on a tactical sense (spoilers showing only what your character perceive). But there is also a certain fun to having info no one else might, in an RP sense.

So which would you rather go with?

Secret, especially in a Magic the Gathering game, after all only with certain artifacts or cards can you see what is in your opponents hand!

Sweet!

Bumped constitution up from 13 point buy to 15 point buy (4 points) (total of 16 with race mods), bumped dexterity from 14 to 15 point buy (2 points), and wisdom from 12 to 13 point buy (1 point).

Gained cunning action, hit points up to 27, and sneak attack up to 2d6.

Gained the Thief archetype, allowing better climbing and jumping (meh), but giving quick hands.

Me and hunting traps are going to have a lot of fun. 'he he he.'

HP is 9+6+6 = 21/21

Entering the Circle of the Moon archetype.

New abilities: Combat Wild Shape (bonus action to Wildshape, bonus action to spend a spell slot to heal 1d8/slot while in wild shape), Circle Forms (Beasts of up to CR 1).

Also more spell slots and lvl 2 spell access.

Hey Tes, will you be prepping Detect Magic? I don't want to step on the Knowledge Cleric's toes in that regard.

I can and I will, unless you want to :-)

I don't mind my toes being stepped on if we all live and accomplish our goals!

EDIT: I spent the extra 7 on Wisdom (4), Intelligence (2), and Strength (1). +10 More HP and all of the other cleric goodies.

I take it we find out about the new Planeswalker abilities soon? I know some of us were wondering about multi-color differences, how will that be handled should we so choose to shift to a new color in addition to our current one?

Glanced at your profile Tes, and saw CLW x2.

In 5e, spells aren't prepped quite like in 3.x/PF. You choose Cleric level + Wis bonus spells to have ready for the day, then you use your slots to cast them spontaneously.
You don't have to determine what spell each slot holds in advance. It's considerably more flexible.
