Male Human Rogue 2

'Not from me, I'll leave my spare bits and pieces with the camel I was travelling on.'

Makin packs everything on to the camel, then ties his newly purchased rapier to his belt and straps on his finely made new armor, wearing it over a light shirt, without the kaftan.

'Looking good, like a proper budding pathfinder,' he remarks with a grin, awaiting his companions own preparations.

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Faysal wipes the sleep from his eyes, and begins his daily ritual of exercise and prayer, preparing his body and spirit for the day ahead.

"There wouldn't happen to be time for abit of breakfast before we leave? Some toast perhaps?"

'Good idea, wouldn't do to have our stomach's loudly give us away!'

After your breakfast and ritual time, the four of you gather your gear and head on foot into the foothills to the north west. After several hours of weaving though the scrub you see an old stone structure that could only be the monastery. The walls are intact save for some damage to the towers. The roof is marked with many gaping holes but mostly intact also. From your vantage point you see 2 doorways opening into the structure but no movement inside.

you are about 100yds away and hidden in a large collection of scrub brush.

Male Human Rogue 2

'Okay,' Makin whispers queitly, 'Let's get a little closer.'

He slinks out from the grass, hunching a keep low, trotting quietly on with his soft moccassins gently passing, disturbing as little as possible.

It takes Makin a minute to stealthily move towards the nearest door. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Just before he heads out, Numair whispers, "It may be preferable for one individual to scout quickly and then report back. One person is easier to stay hidden than a group, regardless. We will watch over you with weapon and spell ready, Makin. Do not get too close, and report back what you see."

Male Human Rogue 2

Did Makin make it, if so he moves to the door for a sneak peek. And if he sees nothing he waves his comrades over to him.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Faysal crouches behind the thorny bushes, and readies his sling if Makin, as usual, gets into trouble....

Perception check!! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Makin sneaks toward door, about 50 yards form the door he brushes past a scrub bush and catches a branch on his arm. As he walks past it the branch slaps back against the tree making a loud crack. Makin stops still scanning the area. Nothing seems to be moving. After a a second he continues to the building stopping just outside one of the doors.

lets do initiative just so it is easier to move in order.

Male Human Rogue 2

Initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Makin peers in the doorway, gesturing his allies to follow him, he begins to stalk into the building, eyes peeled for trouble.

Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 (+1 vs. traps)

"Well, not sure being quiet matters anymore," Numair mutters under his breath. "But may as well proceed."

Numair emerges from the bushes behind the others, trying to keep down as well as he can.

Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Faysal holds his position for the moment, twirling his sling in a misleadingly haphazard fashion

Stealth (to stay unnoticed) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Readied action to sling the crap out of anything he sees sneaking up on his buddies :)

I've been ill for the past couple days. Please NPC me, thank you.

Get well soon!

Okay Mr. GM sir, whats down through the door? And could we get like a quick photobucket hosted map maybe? It can get hard to know where you are in PBPs, or you just keep it in mind and we'll work it out old style!

Will NPC, get well soon. I wont be able to post today as I have a very long meeting at work and if I can't DM at work I am not sure why I go to work. Anyway I will attempt to get something up tonight or early tomorrow.

That's cool!

Haldo and Numair move up tot he door where Makin has stepped inside.

Scrub brush and a light, patchy carpet of weeds invade the monastery through two huge fallen sections of the western wall. The exposed nave beyond is a huge hallway littered with bits of debris ranging from tiny rocks to enormous sections of collapsed masonry. Most of the roof above the long promenade is gone, but several jagged pillars remain.

Faysal kneels behind the brush watching and swinging his sling as his partners approach the door of the building.

Map 1

Male Human Rogue 2

Whoa! It's huge!

'There's a door opposite us,' Makin whispers back to allies quietly.

'But I want to have a look at the big chapel at the end first. See what else we can see?'

I'm last in initiative, but when my turn comes unless Numair disagrees, I'm going to move up the vast hall, towards the end with the pews. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

"Excellant idea," Numair whispers. "We will provide cover, until you wave us forward." He turns a bit and waves for Faysal to move up to join them.

forgot init order: Faysal, Haldo, Numair, Makin

Haldo watches Makin for a sign to move into the room.

Male Human Rogue 2

Okay, I'll go now, then Faysal, to get the order kind of logical. Just use the roll above? Yes?

Makin slinks down through the hall, motioning to his allies to follow at a distance, charging distance in Haldo's case.

He makes his way across the dusty, cracked floor of the courtyard, moccassins padding quietly.

He makes his way towards the open arch to the chapel.

Posting for dot.

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Faysal moves up to the doorway, but does not enter the ruins. The sling continues it's lazy orbits, ready to cover Makin.

SO yeah, still just readying to shoot anything that pops up :)

AS Makin sneaks up toward the chapel area, Faysal runs up to the outer wall, his sling continuing it's lazy orbits, ready to cover Makin. Haldo steps into the room in order to keep a close eye on Makin waiting for trouble. Numair, after waving for and then waiting for Faysal turns back into the room ready to react.

Round 2 map

Male Human Rogue 2

So Faysal goes next? Then Numair, then me? Then you post the NPC Haldo and round up our actions yes? Makin is going to keep going towards the chapel, though he notes the side passages as he passes. Or will I wait till after Faysal has posted to say that?

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

Faysal cross the doorway to stand just inside the building, in front of Numair, still scanning for trouble.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

just realized I do not have a sling on my equipment list, can I get a mulligan on this one since they're free? :) And nice use of fantasy grounds for the map

you can respond in any order Makin, I will just put it back into order at the end of the round. I did not use Fantasy Grounds, I used the official Paizo map which I photoshopped to remove the stuff you don't see and added tokens from maptools for all the characters. Probably not the simplest method. Do you guys want smaller maps or is the big picture better?
Faysal looks at his feet and is amazed at his finding a mint condition sling and a small sack of stones.

for Remos:

Spoiler:
You had been traveling all morning when you stopped by a worn down monastery to take a break from the sun. You wandered into the main hallway and into small alcove to the left of the chapel. You have been dozing with one eye open for about an hour.

Wow, that is a lot of work for the map. whatever makes it easier for you. re-sling- Amazing what you find when you look hard enough

Male Human Rogue 2

I for one adore the big map! It makes the sense of scale easier to grasp.

Male Human Wizard 2 (Enchanter) Init +2, Per +1/+3, AC 12, TAC 12, FFAC 10, HP 14, Fort +2 / Ref +2 / Will +4

Yeah, I like the big map, too. Easy to reference. But I can deal with whatever is easiest for you; it's not a huge issue.

Numair follows the others cautiously, trying to keep his eyes open to any dangers that may be lurking. Everything seems far too quiet; buildings/shelter in such a harsh climate are never unoccupied ...

perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Haldo moves a quietly as possible while keeping near to Makin.

Round 3 Map

Is anyone trying to stay stealthy besides Makin? If so please add a stealth check to each round you are being stealthy. Next round.

After his catnap, the large man stands and stretches his limbs, then heads into the main hallway of the monastery.

Male Human Rogue 2

Makin draws his rapier, now quite unsettled as he moves stealthily towards the chapel.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

snowed in today, so I will be checking more than usual for a weekend :)
Faysal keeps observing. Does he see the new guy?

Male Human Wizard 2 (Enchanter) Init +2, Per +1/+3, AC 12, TAC 12, FFAC 10, HP 14, Fort +2 / Ref +2 / Will +4

Numair follows last, keeping his gaze mainly on the doorways in the south wall, since not much can be seen into that (those?) room(s) ...

Stealth 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Makin draws his rapier and sneaks ahead while Haldo follows closely. Faysal stays by the door and Numair moves up and steps on a piece of broken tile causing a crack to reverberate through the hallway. Everyone stops looking for any threat, a large Uwagan man steps into the hallway about 40' in front of Makin.

Round 4 map

Makin straightens, facing the huge man. He keeps his rapier held before him.

'Who are you, and what are you doing here friend?'

Remos quickly turns at the sound of the crack. "Hey!" he threatens at the men approaching. Remos draws his heavy sword and holds it in front of himself. "Who you?" the large man retorts.

Male Human Rogue 2

Makin smiles widely, showing just a hint of teeth.

'I'm a traveller, but I asked you first, stranger?'

"I am Remos! Who you?"

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

" Well friend Remos, my name is Faysal Ibn Ahmad Ibn Aziz, and these are my companions Makin, Numair, and Haldo. You are obviously not a gnoll, so what brings you so far out into these desert wastes?"

Male Human Wizard 2 (Enchanter) Init +2, Per +1/+3, AC 12, TAC 12, FFAC 10, HP 14, Fort +2 / Ref +2 / Will +4

Numair's eyes narrow, and he watches the new man carefully and suspiciously. Nice grammar ... doesn't seem to be the sharpest nail in the bunch, he thinks to himself. However, he remains silent at the back of the group.

"I am not gnoll!" Remos' eyes light up. "Lookin' fuh someone. Take back village from gnolls." He takes a hand off his sword and starts pumping his fist in the air, as if bashing some imaginary object. "Fight gnolls!"

Male Human Rogue 2

'Well my large, useful friend, we're planning just the same! So why don't you join us and we can kill many many gnolls together!'

Male Halfling Cleric of Irori 3

"I find this talk of killing distasteful, but if you were to join us, perhaps your bulk will dissuade the gnolls from violence?"

Hi, I'm back and well. Sorry for the absence.

Numair snorts a bit. "We are here; here is where we are going. Our mission was to scout out and secure this facility; it would seem as though you've beaten us to the punch. What can you tell us of the monastery?"
