Okay Ravens, your rebellion has leveled up to Rank 4! Well done!

Your upkeep phase has been rolled, new followers added, and your treasury contains just a little more than you need it too. You may take 3 actions this week, and you have a maximum team limit of 3 (not including the Tengu Sisters).

You also get a few perks.

For reaching a level 2 Rebellion you gain:

1 Skill point to be immediately placed on your character sheet.

For reaching level 3: The potion I mentioned in the in-game post.

For Reaching Level 4: The title of Guardian and 1 of the following Bonus Feats:

Alertness, Deceitful, Persuasive, or Stealthy.

Let me know where the skill point is placed, what feat you take, and what you want your actions to be this week.

Male Tiefling NG Male Tiefling Brawler 4 | HP 36/36 | AC 19 (14 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +7, CMD 21 | Fort. +6, Ref. +7, Will +1 | Init. +3 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility: 5/5.

Alertness feat, skill point in Sense Motive, and no idea about actions yet.

Labyrinth HP 47/47; AC 15/14/11; Saves 4/5/7; Init +3; Perc +10; Sense Motive +2

So GM Xynen, I presume I put the potion on the treasure sheet, but the gold is on the rebellion sheet so I'm not tracking it on the treasure sheet. Let me know if that's not correct. ;)

I'm going to take Deceitful (Bluff & Disguise) and take the point in Disguise I guess. Pretty sweet. :)

As for Activities, I suggest the following. GM Xynen, what rank are the Fushi Sisters now? I assume as they’re special they’re unranked and can’t improve, but let us know.

• Earn Gold (with team Fushi Sisters)
• Recruit Supporters (no team required)
• Recruit Team (Street Performers - for getting more information and, later, spreading disinformation)

I'm totally willing to do just about anything, these just made sense to me. I'm not sure we need street performers as the sisters can also gather information, but I'm looking to the spread disinformation bit, which seems pretty cool. Still, could be wrong on where we start there.

Dark Archive

Maps: Segang Expedition

Gold can be deposited or withdrawn from the treasury at any point in the week, so it is technically still in possession of the party and counts as a resource you can use, I would keep a record of it in the sheet.

Speaking of Gold I forgot to withdraw the cost of recruitment, the current gold total has been corrected. Remember the cost of recruitment is equal to the Rebellion Rank x 10, so you'll need 40 gold to recruit if that's what everyone wants to do, you'll also need 40 gold in the treasury after by the end of this week if you want to prevent your notoriety from increasing.

You are correct about the Fushi sisters, they can not improve their rank.

Male Human Gunslinger

Ill put the skill point in Sense Motive, Feat. Persuasive, and lastly not to beat the dead horse but I agree with Femi on our actions. We are still a bit to small and need to expand our reach and having eyes on the streets will help greatly in tracking criminal activity and such.

Labyrinth HP 47/47; AC 15/14/11; Saves 4/5/7; Init +3; Perc +10; Sense Motive +2

No problem Xynen, I've added it to the treasure sheet.

Oh, also, since we're talking about our next phase, please remember Femi gets a +2 to an organizational check which I can change each week during upkeep.

Since I'm still not exactly sure how this all fits together, I'll stick with Security for now to bring our lowest number up.

Male Status HP: 38/38; AC: 22 (T:10, FF:22); CMB +9; CMD 18; Init +0; Perception +10; Fort +8, Ref +3 ; Will +4 Raging HP: 46/46; AC: 22 (T:10, FF:22); CMB +11; CMD 21; Init +0; Perception +10; Fort +10, Ref +3 ; Will +6

Putting 1 rank in Use Magic Device for my skill rank. Taking Alertness as my new feat!

Actually, Femi's ideas for our actions make the most sense to me too. I vote for that.

Okay, I've made the rolls for the events, however as I mentioned earlier you did not have enough for the Recruit Supporters event. Since it was only 4 gold I just went ahead and rolled it anyway, but be mindful of that stipulation in the future.

I have a little gold. I can pay 4 if that's what's needed.

Eh, SOMEONE gotta bum drinks. It's alright. Besides, you had to listen to me yakking on about Calistrae, and how she is all about passion, both romantic and violent.

I'll be taking Alertness, and a point in Perception.

Brask, per the charge rules, if you can only take a standard action in a turn you can not draw your weapon, so you can't attack with your scimitar.

Elias You have use 1 standard action (Surprise) and 1 move action (round 1), so you still have another action in round 1 if you'd like to take it.

I don't understand, would I have not been ready for a fight before we entered the area? I mean... we were literally going into enemy territory.

Dark Archive

Maps: Segang Expedition

Given that you passed the perception check and saw the armored Dwarf, I'll allow it but it had been almost 24 hours since Femi offered his plan without any input from anyone but Mykhail, so I had no reason to assume you had readied or drawn your weapon in an open marketplace.

Male Tiefling NG Male Tiefling Brawler 4 | HP 36/36 | AC 19 (14 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +7, CMD 21 | Fort. +6, Ref. +7, Will +1 | Init. +3 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility: 5/5.

This is Kalem being silly and complicated again, but is it possible for me to grapple multiple foes at once? Some cursory research is leaning towards no, but thought I'd ask.

Dark Archive

Maps: Segang Expedition

So, multiple creatures can grapple one creature, and multiple creatures can assist another break from a grapple, but as you said I don't see much to support one creature grappling multiple others.

I'm going to rule against it, because grapple rules are complicated enough as is, I'd rather not confuse the issue more.

Male Tiefling NG Male Tiefling Brawler 4 | HP 36/36 | AC 19 (14 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +7, CMD 21 | Fort. +6, Ref. +7, Will +1 | Init. +3 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility: 5/5.

Good to know, thanks.

Dark Archive

Maps: Segang Expedition

As far as I can tell, unless you need both hands to perform the action, you can take a full attack in a grapple. Power attack also has no restrictions on what type of attack it is applied to, so go ahead and use them if you'd like Kalem.

Theres a feat that lets you grapple with one hand, and theres a feat that lets you make 2 grapple checks a round, so with a few levels ... Yes. Right now, no.

Labyrinth HP 47/47; AC 15/14/11; Saves 4/5/7; Init +3; Perc +10; Sense Motive +2

I don't agree with the full attack action in a grapple.

Grapple in Combat (link) has the line,

"If you do not release the grapple, you must continue to make a check each round, as a standard action, to maintain the hold."

That's pretty clear, I think, you use your standard to maintain the grapple. You have several options during the grapple, including automatic damage if you maintain it (from the same section).

"Damage: You can inflict damage to your target equal to your unarmed strike, a natural attack, or an attack made with armor spikes or a light or one-handed weapon. This damage can be either lethal or nonlethal."

You can of course release the grapple as a free action, then attack twice using Brawler's flurry. Given their AC isn't likely too great, that's probably the better bet, though once you've got them in grapple, it's like doing free damage with all the bonuses you have - but it's only one 'attack' worth of damage', not more.

Male Tiefling NG Male Tiefling Brawler 4 | HP 36/36 | AC 19 (14 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +7, CMD 21 | Fort. +6, Ref. +7, Will +1 | Init. +3 | Speed 30ft | Martial Flexibility: 5/5.

Hmm, yeah the damage isn't the greatest while I have him locked down.

Would I be able to pin him or tie him up while being flanked? If I can survive for a couple rounds, that'd take one guy out of the fight.

Dark Archive

Maps: Segang Expedition

Yes, Femi is correct, I was thinking from the point of view of someone being grappled, not the person who has to maintain it. Thanks for the correction.

Fun fact, monsters with the Grab ability can grapple a target without actually having the Grappled condition applied to them, by taking a -20 on their CMB. This essentially means they are holding you at arms length with one hand, or pinning with a foot on your back or something.

Just letting you know I'm still here, letting the roleplay take over for a bit, when you're ready to move on let me know what the plan is.

We should be careful as Kalem says. I get the sense that things happen over weeks in the this AP, or at least this section of it. So I'm fine not jamming every second with stuff.

That said, we do need funds, and taking them from Thrune is an excellent idea. Let's chat in character...

Femi you are correct on the gold, I over looked it, that has been corrected in the sheet and lost supporters from the treasury shortage have been refunded.

Elias how many spells per day are you committing to the truth telling spell?

Remember you have 19 followers, Rexus, Laria, the party, the the rest of the Fushi sisters. (I'm assuming you leave Pavus and his troupe out since you only just recruited them.

Assuming only some over your followers know the true extent of the Silver Ravens I'd say we can lower that to about 8 followers that may have entered the Wasp's Next, if you don't want to round up all of them.

I'll be commiting my full load of spells to this, excepting the domain spell, of course. That means I can do three a day, assuming the NPCs can (and do) willingly fail their will saves. Meaning this would take a minimum of three days, and it's possible if we guess wrong on the first or second day, the guilty party might panic before we get to them. If we don't find them among our primary suspects, then I'll move onto the party members, then the other followers. If we get into combat or something I can always sack the spells for Inflicts, I suppose.

Labyrinth HP 47/47; AC 15/14/11; Saves 4/5/7; Init +3; Perc +10; Sense Motive +2

On the rebellion sheet should I add the 500gp we just donated, or do you want to control that Xynen?

Also I see it still says we were short on the treasury in week 2 - which you corrected elsewhere I think. Could you correct that too please?

I'm nervous messing with the sheet. :) Thanks!

So Femi has laid out a couple plans of action. It's been a day and a half but I wanted to hold off moving forward in case anyone wanted to follow up on that or assist him. I'm going to give it until the morning then I'll move on.

It seems that posting activity has fallen off a bit, if there's anything I can do, or suggestions anyone would like to make to make this more engaging for them, feel free to let me know or PM me. If I'm the one holding everything up because I've been waiting too long for multiple inputs, tell me that too so we don't end up hung like this in the future.

Am I pushing too much? I'm happy to keep making suggestions, and I'm happy just putting in some tweaks to someone else's suggestions.

We could always trade-off. Everyone does a week round-robin style. Maybe by alphabet if folks want.

I like doing it, the rules are interesting to me, so I'm happy being the 'first suggestion' on the weekly updates.

I just don't want to be 'that' guy who's always talking and can't hear anyone else speak. Happy to take a more secondary role if someone else wants to step up, now or at any time.

I received a message from Mykhail that life has gotten a bit hectic and they unfortunately do not believe they have time to keep playing.

I reached out to another applicant from the recruitment thread (Pirate Rob) and asked if they would like to fill the open slot and he agreed so they will be introducing themselves later today at some point.

My next post is going to be a little delayed as I figure out how to work the departure and introduction of different characters into the game so apologies for the delay, in the meantime please welcome our new party member to the game!
