Greetings everyone,

I will be playing a militant wizard, but will be very low on the arcane the first few levels as I flesh out my background and story with the fighter levels needed to play a melee wizard.

Cant wait to do this with an enchanter and not a transmuter. I look forward to the challenge.

Origen, Reporting for Duty. Cavalier, was on the fast path, moving up the ranks in the Military, Till his Imprisonment. Very mild teperment, Easy to get along with. Mostly no non-sense, Fiercely Loyal to the Sword Lords, and his fellow Soldiers.

Question.

So we Heard our name, does this mean a "double" was hung, IE faking our death, or where we kinda day dreaming about this happening to us?

Sorry for the late post.

So far you have been arrested and given a sham trial. Transported to a fort at the edge of the stolen lands where your death has been faked. I have two options for what happens next: (a) you can role play a meeting with the man that has perpetrated these crimes against you. or (b) we can jump Strait into the adventure proper.

The meeting would allow your chars to work out how they get equipped and what the mission is about, but could drag on with no real progression to the story. Jumping ahead would require us to cover the same material in this thread. Please let me know which you would prefer.

Every one will be equipped by the Brevory military, you may chose any level appropriate starting gear you like within resown.(no cases of cure light wounds potions or 100 alchemist fires plz.) I would like to know how you feel about weapon and gear progression. would you like to get new more powerful stuff or just upgrade your current selections?

Thats all i can think of for now. I would like to start whichever option you chose on Wednesday if possible.

As for getting new gear, or upgrading current gear as we go, I think I'd like to see a Mix, Part of thds Sword Scion Trait is starting with an Aldori dueling sword (basicly a Long sword, since i didn't take the exo. weapon feat) Its important to him, because it was his Fathers. I'd like ot be able to keep that sword and upgrade it along the way.

Would some Light barding be avab for my mount?

It would seem I have a lot of work to get to. First we shall be jumping ahead. I will endeavor to both post a summery of what transpired at the fort leading to your arrival in the stolen lands and start the game thread with what you have found there.

Is every one comfortable with using Google documents for maps?

Second I shall use a mix of upgrading and regular equipment acquisition as Origen suggests. This means that you will be able to buy or find new gear as normal however if you have an item that is important to your character you will be offered a chance to improve it. The improvement process may be used as a plot hook if I feel it would be interesting.

@Origen : your equipment list seems fine. The Brevory military dose indeed offer regular barding for your mount, it might be some what impractical in you situation.

@Donovan: your equipment list is fine, however you might want to take a little more from them as you will be headed into the wilderness.

If you would please give me a list of gear to look over like Origen and Donovan have. I would suggest asking for whatever you would need for a prolonged trip into the middle of nowhere.


Your imprisonment and the faking of your deaths has all been a ruse to throw off suspicion of the Brevory Nobility. You have been recruited to form a special Unit. This Unit is charged with the mission of scouting the Stolen Lands for future development, and putting down any hostile forces in the vicinity of Rostlands southern border. you shall be outfitted to your satisfaction within the limits of the forts supplies, horses are provided to those without. The Unit is given directions to a trading post that may be used as a base of operation in the area.

I was about to ask the same thing since I was about to check to see who our arcane guy was. You might want to send him a PM if you don't have any info from him.

I might have an issue with equipment as I have a longsword bonded item that I would be looking to recover if possible.

I know this can cause some problems as I am a wizard, needing a spell book and such, but I will leave my equipment array to the gm as I was going to take 2 levels of fighter at lvl 2 and 3, so spells were not something I was going to be worrying about to much at the begining.

I wanted to play a character that adapted well to his situation, so not having a spell book right now is not an issue.

I would only ask that by the time I am about to go wizard from lvl 4-7, that I have something I can start putting spells in.

Also, when I do get a spell book, will I be able to write my two enchanting spells @ 1st level into it right off the bat? Let me know.

Other than than, a longsword will do for a weapon and I wont mind any type of armor.

Is there anyone in this group that would mentor me and train me in fighting? (this is mainly for armor use by 2nd level)

(Oh, and I do appologize about not gettting online the last several days. I thought I would be able to get on with my smart phone in the desert, but I was mistaken. If I go out there again, I will leave apost letting everyone know I will be unable to post for a few days. (I dont see this happening for a couple months, but I will be going again before the summer starts)

That reminds me, I never added the items to my character. I think we have one character(PC) that knows how to use heavy armor. The NPC(assuming they are warriors) should know how to use it also.

Ptol, you should have mroe 1st level spells than that, Should be 3+int mod(4) so 7 total avab @ 1st level :-)

I understand that I should, but with the circumstances, Those are the only ones I could write into a blank spell book.

I am mearly giving the GM the minimum that I could get given the circumstances of our situation. I will leave it up to him if I get more than those 1st level spells.

(although, I do want them, so dont get me wrong there... :D)

I have a few questions.
Is the party finished discussing the coming bandit threat? If so who will be with Rhaul outside of the fort? What roles if any would you like the two Trappers, and Oleg to take? It would help to have a watch rotation as well please.

Can all of you see and edit the Map of Oleg's? You should be able to move your portrait around the map

And as for the map, i can view it fine and will let you know if i can move my portrait around. Right now, I am just getting in a quick post and I will be back in about an hour to let you know.

I dont think we are done discussing what we will do in the upcoming confrontation, or who will be doing what.

I will also get a light crossbow with my other gear and 20 bolts.

I will go ahead and post my spells within an hour for you. I will have all Enchantment spells for sure.

I kinda looked at it like this will be a bonding moment, or we all will do our own thing and see who pays the price. I, personally, am all for team work. But this character is also vain and still thinks he can persuade just about anyone to do what he wants. I am curious if anyone was going to go with my character to persuade the walll jumping team of bandits to go away... :D

what part of the upcoming encounter seems to be causing the confusion?
so far as the party knows, 4 men will come to the gate in the mourning and cause a distraction/assault, at least 3 others will then come over the back wall. This group is currently hiding north of the fort.

I say we lock the front gate to keep the 4 men out, and kill the 3 as they are coming over the wall. We can also line the ground with cantrips by the backwall so they land on them or we can grease or oil the backwall, making the climb difficult depending on which group you want to deal with first.

and my whole plan on the wall was to charm one of the attackers and send them back to where they came from. I had a few ideas for dialog that I thought would work, but was waiting for the final amount of info I would have before spilling that.

But the plan to destroy the back force and holding the front attackers out sounds good to me.


so we seem to have a plan worked out. I will have a new map ready by tonight, tomorrow we shall commence the assault of Olegs trading post.
