As you enter the forest, you all start to here a noise. It's still too far away to here what it is, but it's definitely there.

Strife looks around nervously. "Umm... guys... do you hear anything, like something all round us?" Seeing the looks he receives, Strife shrinks in on himself a bit. "I mean, it's probably nothing..." He suddenly jumps, and his words come out in a rush, "Ohcomeonth-th-thatscreepy! Pleaset-t-tellmeyouhearthatwailing!" He is clinging to the horse as if seeking protection.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
As a haunted oracle, Strife dismisses nothing as "just the wind".

Well I've been trying to slow it down in hopes that Tavius will return, but seeing as his last post on every one of his aliases was at least six weeks ago, it doesn't seem likely that he will return. I'll GMPC for a little while longer, but pretty soon we might have to start looking for a new player.
As you continue on your merry way, everyone starts to here a noise. Then that noise turns into noises. Then those noises turn into laughter. Then a creepy song erupts from everywhere around you.

You'll see this whenever I get a map up, but to give you an idea of where you are, you are on a 20 ft. road. There is a 10 ft. clearing on either side, after that are trees and bushes. You can't see the goblins yet.

Tarnish shrugs. He says, "All I know for sure is that I'm not trained for mounted combat, and the rest of you aren't set up for heavy infantry formation fighting. I think that unless we want to get overrun we better get out of here. Going back to town and warning everybody seems to be the best bet. If we have to try to ride through some of them to do that then that's what we'll do. But staying here is not an option, and trying to ride horses deeper into the woods under current circumstances doesn't strike me as a good idea."
Tarnish readies his warhammer.

Tarnish replies, "They've already attacked the town once. Where else would they be likely to be going to in force? And if they're not going to town I doubt they would turn aside just to chase us."

Map is up, light green is clearing, dark green is undergrowth (adds concealment), brown is trees, gray is the road, and H's are horses. Left is the way to Sandppoint. You can edit the map now as well.
As everyone is discussing what to do, Aldern scream and points at the edge of the clearing where a goblin bursts though the woods. Sword held high, the little green beast runs, cackling and shrieking straight towards the party. Shortly afterwards, two more goblins erupt from the woods in the same manner.
1)Tavius,G2,G1
2)Strife, Tarnish
3)G3
4)Kugrim
Tavius takes a pot shot at one of the goblins but misses completely.
Goblins 1 and 2 start to charge the group, but those evil horses are causing them to hesitate.
Strife and Tarnish are up.

Tarnish yells, "We can outrun these things. Head back to Sandpoint!"
If I'm reading the map right Tarnish is next to Kugrim.
Tarnish will turn his horse around and then ride 4 squares closer to Sandpoint. Then he will turn left and move forward one more square. That should put him adjacent to and "northeast" of goblin 1. Tarnish will then attack G1 with his warhammer.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
But Tarnish really isn't used to fighting from horseback and misses.

Round 1
------------------------
The appearance of the goblins makes Strife's horse become skittish, and he slips off of it in a crouch. As he uncurls himself, his eyes glow especially blue for a moment. He throws one hand over his eyes, and he says something. "Golau seren." His other hand lunges out toward the nearest goblin and an explosion of shooting stars of various hues streak towards it.

Ride: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Move: Dismount: 1 square east.

Sorry guys, I had a brain flatulation and forgot that G3 had to go next. Also, the horses aren't battle trained so I'm going need to ride checks from everyone.
1)Tavius,G2,G1
2)Strife
3)G4
4)Tarnish
5)G3,G5
6)Kugrim
Goblin 2 passes out mid-stride and falls flat on his face so fast he actually roled head over heels so that he is lying on his back. Goblin three hesitates for a moment, but edges closer when two more of his comrades appear from the bushes.
Can everyone move their pieces on the map?
Wivvy
G1 finally musters up the courage to charge at Tarnish, but the horse stomps its hoof and scares him so badly that he forgot to swing his sword.
Tavius hops off his horse and fires a G3, the arrow lodges itself between the little beasts eyes and leaves it lying on its back lifelessly.
G2 is still unconscious.
I'm back everyone, sorry for the absence, its been a pretty crazy holiday season. Strife is up.

Round 2
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Strife steps forward slightly, aiming the butt of his staff at the goblin's head. The blow lands with a sickening crunch and Strife grabs at his own stomach as it begins to heave.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Move: 5'step east.
Full Round Action: Coup-de-Grace
Damage(Auto-Crit): 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8
Fort Save 18 if the damage didn't kill it.

Tarnish looks around and notes all the people who have dismounted already. He thinks, "Darn. It could take a miracle for this to end well. Better get down before I fall down."
Tarnish dismounts from his horse on the same side as G1 and strikes at the goblin with his warhammer.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
But Tarnish misses again. Getting off the horse must have unbalanced him somewhat.

Kugrims blade swings wide and misses the goblin.
Tavius moves into position to attack G5, but gets to anxious and fires before he has taken the time to aim.
G1 swipes a Tarnish's knees, but Tarnish is able to leap out of the way.
Strife is up.
Wivvy
Tavius backs up to get a clear line of fire at G4, but misses completely.
An over ambitious strike leaves another miss in a long string of misses between Tarnish and G1.
Suddenly, the tip of an arrow appears, coming through G4's throat, and another goes through G5's chest. At the edge of the woods, Shalelu appears, bow drawn.
Wivvy
When Tarnish kills the last goblin, Shalelu says to them frantically, "Please, Ameiko may be held captive by her brother in the Glassworks factory in town. She could be in serious danger and you have to go quickly. I would follow you, but I must hunt down the rest of these goblins. " Also, does anyone know someone who would like to take Tavius's spot? It would keep me from having to open up recruitment.
Wivvy
Once all of the horses are mounted, everyone starts to head back. However, Tavius decides to go with Shalelu as he has quite a bit of catching up to do. With goodbye's being said, the party heads to Sandpoint.
When you reach Sandpoint, the sheriff is there to greet you. "I'm assuming Shalelu gave you the news? Well then I'm sure you know that you must go as quickly as possible to the Glassworks factory, so I'll not slow you down with details. Here's a key, but make sure you know what you're getting yourself into before you go barging in." After handing you all the key, he regards the man standing behind him for the first time. "This is Montaign Vizla, everyone. He's been a bit of a troublemaker in the past, but still a good man and he'll be handy in a fight. You can make introductions on the way, but go quickly!"
And with that, Montaign is officially in the game! Jut a quick sidebar for you Montaign, you ran int the sheriff in town and you were catching up, then he gave you the news about Ameiko (whom you've undoubtedly head of) and you wanted to help out. So you waited for the party to arrive and now you and the rest of the group are headed to the Glassworks.

Tarnish comments, "It might be nice if we didn't have to fight. But given that we do have to fight we need to have people who are good at it. By the way Strife, you might want to do a better job of cleaning the goblin brains off your staff."

Strife's eyes go wide and he looks down at his staff. "Oh, gods!" He stumbles a bit when he sees the leftover gore. He puts his hand on his stomach as if that will quell the queasiness. "Was it really necessary to point that out?" He does, however, start gesturing at the staff which becomes very wet.

"Well met! Sheriff speaks highly of you. Heard about you fighting off the goblins that attacked during the festival. I appreciate people who don't freeze when trouble comes! Kept your wits about you and protected The Rusty Dragon, my favorite inn. Grateful for that. Grew up hanging about the Rusty Dragon and consider Ameiko a friend. Would never leave her trouble! I'm content to complete introductions while b-lining for the warehouse."

As you approach the Glassworks building, you can see that all of the curtains are closed and the doors are shut. The building look climable, but barely DC 20 Climb. You also notice that the place is eerily silent.
