Goblin1 was being very vocal, shouting to the top of his lungs with laughter and taunts, but no sooner did he lift his torch to flaunt it, did it hit the ground. Goblin1 followed soon after, his laughing and taunting reduces to gurgles in his throat.
Goblin2 duck a blow by Kugrim, and still manages dodge Tavius. He is, however, distracted enough to miss a chance to hit Setius.
G3 misses while trying to sneak up and get Setitous from behind.

Tavius Taurandir |

Tavius gives a slight growl as he sees the goblins teaming up on Setius and shoots again. Animal focus: Tiger (+2 Dex), shoot G3
New AC=17

Tarnish will shift his longsword back to his right hand. He will then move north along the east side of the tables until he is in a good spot to attack the war chanter.
Longsword attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Oh well :-(

Kugrim |

I think I should have gotten an AoO on G3. It looks like he climbed up on the table, and he can't take a 5' step with any form of movement for which he doesn't have a listed speed. I'm going to go ahead and roll one, and you can decide whether or not it stands.
AoO with horsechopper: 1d20 ⇒ 15 AoO damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I should also note that he loses his Dex bonus when climbing.
Regular turn:
Kugrim swings his horsechopper mightily at the goblin in front of him.
horsechopper attack, flanking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 horsechopper damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
"AARGH!!!!! Stand still and fight!"

Wivvy |

After being swarmed with attacks, Goblin3 takes off and jumps off of the tent. But just before he jumps, Setius manages to take another swipe at him and, although Setius misses, Goblin3 stops paying attention to where the edge of the tent is. He falls right off the edge and snaps his neck.
Goblin2 lunges at Kugrim, but he and Setius make sure the goblin doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Warchanter cracks his whip at Tarnish again, but does nothing more than splash a mug of mead on him.

Tavius Taurandir |

Tavius fires at the Warchanter hoping to end the fight for Tarnish.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Round 3
Strife, in a desperate plea, calls out, "Kill him, already!" He then makes a gesture and you see a cup of ale fly at the goblin's head. Mage Hand. The cup is so off the mark that it almost hits Tarnish. As the goblin turns towards him, Strife scrabbles back and hides behind the table again. 12-Db
Totally making this up for comic relief, adjust as you will. =)
Cup Smash-Improvised+Ranged Touch: 1d20 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) - 4 + 1 = 6

Wivvy |

Tarnish's strike was a little slow due to a cup of mead flying past him (spilling even more mead on him), but the arrow in between the Warchanter's eyes seemed to slow him down a good bit, so the sword impaled the goblin straight through.
If any of you have preparations to make, then you can do it now.
After y'all have caught your breath for a moment, you take a moment to look around. There are mostly just bodies of goblins strewn around the square, but there are a few poor citizens who lie on the ground dead. There is a goblin on the far south side of the square taking a nap, but other than that, it is silent. Then, through the silence erupts a terrified scream and a howl of a dog, coming from the north.

Tavius Taurandir |

"Setius come!" Tavius yells out as he runs to the north. "Come on Tarnish we got more goblins to kill." He says as he passes by Tarnish.
I've got less then a minute of Animal focus left I must run

![]() |

Given that the rest of the group is running, Tarnish increases his pace to a jog. He won't be the first in the group to get to wherever they're going, but he won't be the last either. He says, "Running towards a lethal force encounter when you have no real clue what's actually happening is usually a bad idea."

![]() |

Tarnish replies, "Duty to what? Now don't get me wrong. I like the people here and don't want to see anything bad happen to them. But they haven't signed a contract and paid in advance for protection. Neither have they made me a Sherrif's deputy nor inducted me into their militia. So as far as any sort of duty goes, I don't see one. As far as I'm concerned this is sort of like charity work. I don't mind doing it occasionally, but it puts no coin in my purse."
"Right now all we know is that there's a bunch more goblins around than there should be and we have a dog howling in pain. I like dogs, but worst case scenario somebody can get themselves a new puppy a lot easier than I can get a new Tarnish."

The blue-skinned fellow nods along in response to each point. What he said. I don't want to have to get a new Strife, that's for sure.
Aloud, "Safety in numbers, though, and all that."

Tavius Taurandir |

"This is no time to argue Tarnish, if you will not do it for the town do it for a friend for this my home as well as theirs." Tavius replies before turning his attention back to where the howling came from and continued to run.
I hope I didn't just break the golden rule of adventuring

![]() |

I'm not aware of any golden rule of adventuring. To try to clarify, Tarnish isn't saying that the group shouldn't check out the problem with the dog. He's just saying that doing it by going forward at a dead run might not be the best idea in the world.
Tarnish simply replies as he hustles along, "In case you hadn't noticed, I am coming along. But even if I wanted to run at top speed, the combination of the scale mail armor that I'm wearing and my pack don't make for winning many foot races."

Wivvy |

As you all go past the White Deer Inn, you hear a man calling for help. When you reach the North Gate, you are just in time to watch a Goblin Commando chop the head off a dog. When the dog is dead, three more goblins come, cheering, out of hiding. They are all preoccupied by the man hiding behind a rain barrel and they have not noticed you yet. Surprise round.

![]() |

Tarnish takes a moment to catch his breath and says, "That worked out a little better than I thought it would."
Tarnish then goes on to take a shot at G1 with his sling staff.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And the RNG stiffs me again. Hopefully I'll miss Kugrim. :-0

Kugrim |

Kugrim rushes ahead, closing with goblin commando and another of his comrades. He swings his horsechopper at the goblin commando, trying to emulate the commando's attack on the dog.
5 ft. NE, then 20 ft. north puts me in reach of G1 and GC.
attack: 1d20 ⇒ 9 damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Don't forget that I get an AoO if either of the goblins close with me or move outside my reach.

Tavius Taurandir |

As Tavius sees the goblins he draws an arrow and lets it fly.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Attacking G2. Can't see my position right now hope I didn't provoke

Setius |

Setius moves to flank the commando hoping to assist the taller grey one.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Wivvy |

Tarnish's sling releases a little too early and it sailed right between Tavius and Strife's heads.
Goblin1 runs after Kugrim, ducking a swing, then returning one himself but still misses.
Goblin2's body makes it a lot closer to Kugrim than his head does, compliments of Kugrim's horsechopper.
Goblin3 licks his lips as he runs at Setius and delivers a knick on his leg.
Goblin Commando delivers a much nastier strike to Setius who is now in a lot of pain.

Tavius Taurandir |

"Setius get to the wall!" Setius will full withdraw to the north Tavius yells as he fires an arrow at the commando.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Round 1
Strife moves up to the left of Tavius. He says, "Your hawk is hurt? I might be able to help if he comes closer." He then casts Guidance on Tavius.
Move: 10' north.
Std: Cast Guidance. Target: Tavius.
Currently have Guidance buffs: Tarnish, Tavius.
Guidance: This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance. The target gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.

Wivvy |

Okay, I goofed and forgot to mention that the goblin commando was mounted on a goblin dog, but it actually works out the same, he's still tripped.
Goblin1 takes a wing and a miss at Kugrim.
Goblin3 got a little confused in all the commotion. At first he was attacking Setius but he flew away, then he was about to kill Tavius who shot an arrown at his commander, but then his commander ended up falling on the ground because he was tripped by Kugrim. Finally he decides to attack the last one he saw and he rushes Kugrim. He manages to duck Kugrim's blade, but misses a chance to retaliate.
After taking an arrow and being knocked silly by getting tripped, he doesn't even know where he is until a horsechopper is through his chest. He falls off of his goblin dog leaving it and Goblin1 as the only living enemies left.

Tavius Taurandir |

"Setius to me!" Tavius yells as he fires at goblin Tarnish is fighting.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 4 = 2
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Wivvy |

Sorry it's been so long guys, this week was unexpectedly busy
Kugrim left a nasty cut on G1's face.
Goblin1 screams in pain, turns around and returns the blow He then call to the goblin dog who runs to him.
The goblin dog dies before he could answer his masters call.

Round 3
Strife shakes his hand, as if trying to get something off of it. He reaches out again to the hawk, since it allowed him previously, and casts Guidance.
Currently have Guidance buffs: Tarnish, Tavius, Setius.
Guidance: This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance. The target gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.

![]() |

Tarnish again strikes at G1 with his sling staff.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 +1 BAB, +4 STR, +1 Guidance, +2 flanking
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
And Tarnish connects with a good, solid hit.

Tavius Taurandir |

Setius |

Setius caws at strife a last time and flys into the battle pecking at the goblin.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Wivvy |

The goblins all have dogslicers, leather armor, and light wooden sheilds, the Commando has a shortbow, studded leather and a MW horsechopper, he also has 20 arrows, and a CMW potion. The warchanter has potion of cure light wounds, studded leather, whip, shortbow, and 20 arrows. Also, award yourselves 650 xp a piece.
It is now apparent that the battle is won. The shrieking of the goblins has gone, and the screaming of frighten citizens has now been quieted. Compared to the chaos of the goblins, the city of Sandpoint is silent. Sobs of children echo throughout the streets, a (relatively low) amount of human bodies lie, motionless on the ground, and goblin parts litter the streets.

Tarnish looks over the scene and says, "Looks like we took care of the uninvited guests. I wonder why they attacked. I thought goblins tended to go after smaller and weaker targets. Them trying to take on an entire town doesn't make much sense."
Tarnish will start gathering up the goblins' weapons.

Tarnish looks over the scene and says, "Looks like we took care of the uninvited guests. I wonder why they attacked. I thought goblins tended to go after smaller and weaker targets. Them trying to take on an entire town doesn't make much sense."
The lean sylph looks worried. "You don't think they'll attack again, d-d-do you? That'd be really odd, right?"

![]() |

Tarnish shrugs. He says, "Your guess is as good as mine. They just got wiped out for no gain that I can see. So it wouldn't make any sense to me for them to attack again. But then their initial attack didn't make any sense to me either. So I don't know what they're going to do next."
