I have a photo of my son when he was a few days old wearing a "character sheet" onesie and showing a 24 Charisma.
My non-gamer wife did not approve and I never saw that onsie again. I imagine the Star Trek uniform onsie also disappeared. :-)
Hi everybody. For the next few weeks my work/life balance is going to be very out of whack from the norm, and my posting will most likely be spotty. Sorry for the long absence (once again). Thing is, between an increased workload at my job recently and a newborn at home, I haven't been able to keep up with the games, and even if it doesn't eat up that much into the day, I've been wanting to use my spare time to be with my wife and my boy, which I'm sure you can understand. But since I'm kind of a stickler for commitments, the notion that I'm holding up gameplay keeps nagging at me, so I'd rather step down at once to have some peace of mind and let you all enjoy the adventure. I've been playing on the boards regularly for over 5 years, and I know that games can take a hit when someone leaves, but it is not a decision I take lighly. I wish you all a fun and lasting campaign and I thank you for your understanding!

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that my RL schedule is going to become any less hectic in the near future. This game's speed tends to wax and wane; what sort of posting rate are we shooting for? I'm going to be unable to post 1/day, but we haven't been at that pace for a while now. I could swing 2/week; is that an acceptable rate, with the understanding that it's okay to bot Cawthorne if he's holding things up?
Cawthorne is a character I've been enamored with for over 2 years now and I relish the chance to play him, but I don't want to be the one bogging down the game for everyone else.
We seem to be at a fairly slow pace. I'm thinking 2x a week will work. Of course I'm not the GM, and it is up to him.

Sorry for the wait! I've recently taken on a much larger role at work, hence my limited time. I work in warehousing and shipping, and am only now recovering from last week - the July 4 holiday combined with a sudden deluge of inbound shipping from Canada (trying to cram in as much product before the new tariffs went into effect) meant a LOT of extra work. Barring any additional insanity, I should be good for my 2/week from here on.

Hi all. I apologize for my recent disappearance without notice; it was inconsiderate of me. Unfortunately my RL circumstances are such that I pretty much have to retire from PbP for the foreseeable future, much to my and Cawthorne's regret :( I realize this is bad timing with the recent loss of Lord Bramwell, but I hope you continue on to bring justice to Professor Lorrimor's malefactors!

Let me tell you what's going on with me. First, I'm not dead nor fading away. However, after a week of illness and a week of reasonably ill vacationing, I'm now stranded without access to the Internet (I'm writing this from my mother's house, which is definitely not a long-term solution).
Then, the team of electricians who were going to wire my house were in an automobile accident and several were injured. So still no Internet.
Other electricians are coming to wire my house for the Internet and -hope- they can do it by next Friday.
Trying to stay connected by iPad has proved too difficult when I can summon at most 1 or 2 bars at my house. Thus, I'm just going to be offline for a bit. I'm sorry, but now you know why.
Boy oh boy! That's a string of Natural 1's there my friend!
So ... two members of the party gone and two weeks without a post from our GM ... this is starting to look a bit worrying ...

Heh, no worries man. I tend to worry about these things cos every PbP game I've ever joined has petered out or otherwise fallen over about the level 3-4 mark. I have even worried that it might be some curse I am laboring under :)
Here is an update on my situation:
GOOD NEWS:
At long last my house has been wired for Internet and my service is on.
BAD NEWS:
My computer seems to have suffered total failure in the move, possibly from static discharge. So I now have no computer. If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have had no luck at all lately.
THE PLAN:
I have ordered a new motherboard and CPU from NewEgg. They should arrive tomorrow. I built the computer myself and so should be able to rebuild it. I hope to be up and running by the Monday the 27th, but see my previous comments on luck...
NOTE:
If this is a game I play in, I’m sorry for my absence. If this is a game I GM, I’m very sorry. If this is a game I’m supposed to be GMing but have not yet begun... it gets better.

After more than a month, I've finally gotten Internet access again. Seems as though the site's been down most of that time, so not much loss there.
On the other hand, I'm leaving on Monday the 3rd for a week at the beach with my kids and won't have any access out there, either. I'll try to catch up this weekend at the least.
A quick heads up: I've got some tests to study for, so my posting for the coming week will likely be limited.
