Info on Haunt Siphons for easier reference:
The case's interior is lined with black silk and contains what appears to be some sort of spirit board and brass planchette, as well as four vials made of iron & glass that contain tiny, churning clouds of vapour. The four vials sit in six velvet-lined indentations next to the spirit board. Two of the indentations are empty.
These items are called haunt siphons. The vapours contained within these vials are used to pacify haunts, and continue to be useful even after they've been expended. Just twist off the top when you're around a haunt and watch the fireworks.
When used in the presence of a haunt, the haunt takes 3d6 positive energy damage. If it dies from this, it takes a -5 penalty on its caster level check to manifest when its reset time passes.
An expended haunt siphon can be used as a grenade-like splash weapon that inflicts 1d6 negative energy damage with a direct hit. Every creature within 5 feet of the point where the haunt siphon hits takes 1 point of negative energy damage from the splash.

Imperia, you took possession of the darkwood case with the vials and made the spellcraft check to identify the haunt siphons. Then you stored the items in your pack and returned to the Lorrimor house.

Thank you, Imperia. My mum's come out of very recent surgery and has a way to go to get back on her feet. I appreciate Khardan passing along a message, but I'll post Jayla's action later tonight (soon) to keep the game moving. This week has been filled with taxes (mine and my mother's), making offers on a house and my oldest son's fourth birthday (today). So, no appearances from me until tomorrow, probably.
My apologies: illness, busy work days, personal injury, mother in hospital and getting ready for Easter has left me with very little time for gaming. Tomorrow is good Friday here and I'll be out of town. I won't be able to post until my Monday (your Sunday). Sorry again for the delay.

I'm looking at the initiative roll and it seems Like Bramwell acts before the skulls and Khardan acts after...
I hate doing this because I wanted to see this game through, but ongoing health issues and real life responsibilities have become overwhelming and require my undivided attention, leaving me with little down time or energy for my online games. So, please accept this as my withdrawal from the game. This will give you guys a chance to bring in a player with more time and energy to consistently post/interact and aid you in the adventure.
I want to sincerely thank both the GM and players for giving me the chance to play Jayla. I've had fun and I wish you all the very best.

Considering the situation, I'd be in favor of a new recruitment. Maybe Jayla will meet her end in the hands of Splatter Man, and we'll need reinforcements once we get back to Ravengro (maybe someone who didn't make it in time for the burial). I've been in two Carrion Crown games that didn't take off and I'd really like to see this one through. :)

Alright guys, I think we need to make a decision...
We're currently low on resources and still need to face 4 of the prisoners. Considering our situation, carrying the items could be too dangerous.
Finding the cursed items seems like a good in-game reason to take a step back, get back to the Professor's house and regroup. The ideal thing to do, I think, would be to find a way to cast remove curses on the items, this way we'd have the benefits without the drawbacks. This will probably be too expensive or even impossible in a small town like Ravengro, unless we can find a helpful 5th-lvl cleric.
Having the items seems like a good edge on the fight against the ghosts but we need to have a backup plan in case we can't get rid of the curses and end up succumbing to them mid-fight.
Right now, I'm leaning towards retreating and returning with more hit points and more cure light wounds spells prepared. Also, it may give us a chance to get a new character in the adventure (perhaps someone who arrived late for the funeral).
What do you say?
