M Domani Armsman 1

"Look, that's it's lair. 'Ware 'case it had a mate." Lonen looses his sword in it's sheath.

M Human 1st level wilder

Gjurn readies his pike, his hands wrapping around the smooth shaft.
SPitting on the ground, he replies sagely Perhaps. I hear that the best way to flush out a bear, if one is inclined to do so, is to throw burning logs into the cave. The cave will fill with smoke, driving the beast out.

force of habit. i run 2 wot campaigns and habitually reply as my alter ego

M Domani Armsman 1

Gjurn, your shadowspawn is showing.

M Human 1st level wilder

suiting words to action, Gjurn begins to gather wood and starts a fire. once the fire is large enough, Gjurn will begin to set larger timbers upon the flames to catch fire. Once firmly set on fire, he will then proceed to drag the flaming brands to cave opening and throw them inside.

be ready! Gjurn says to everyone.

gjurn takes a moment and siezes control of saidan.

I will sometimes upload images of creatures and places for you to see. You can find them at this link: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_FXJLC5PfjGbFhzcFFBLTJMRUU&usp =sharing

An image of the creature you face is already there

A lumbering creatures comes at you from behind the cliff as you approach.

It's massive, it stands nearly ten feet tall as it rears onto it's hind legs. The creature has a misshapen squarish head with no ears and black, beady eyes. It's leathery hide is scared and a broken javelin is still stuck in it's side. This strange creature also appears to be wearing a saddle tough no rider is in sight.

Roll reaction + initiative.

M Human 1st level wilder

we in shadowrun now? lol
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

so, do i manage to embrace the source, or do we encounter the "bear" as we climb up to the cave entrance?

You lit a fire gathered a piece of flaming timber and were on your way up to the cave when you encountered the creature. By your post you were only going to embrace the source when you got to the entrance but the creature surprised you before you got there so you hadn't yet embraced it.

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

chard draws his sword and looks at the beast Thats no bloody shadowspawn I know of

int: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Male Human Borderlander (Saldaea) Wanderer 1

init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Ryer draws his shortsword...

What is THAT!?

Lonen Tendain slowly draws his weapon with a stunned look.
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The creature stands on it's hind legs and lets out a terrifying roar.
Creature init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Chard is up first then the creature, then everyone else.

M Human 1st level wilder

By the Light of the Creator! That is for sure a fell beast, one of the Dark Ones creations! We must Destroy this creature lest it Blight this area Gjurn says, slapping fist to heart.

We must spread apart, encircle it. Force it to give us its back! Gjurn says loudly so everyone can hear.

Full round action: embrace Sadain

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

readies an action to strike the beast when it attacks

The creature stands it's ground making itself as threatening as it can, it's clearly wounded and it seems it would rather see you flee than fight.

[ooc]Note that it has reach so moving in to attack in melee provokes an attack[ooc]

M Human 1st level wilder

good thing i have a reach weapon

M Domani Armsman 1

"A bleeding ugly thing isn't it?

Lonen gives a weak smile as he moves to circle to the side of the beast, staying out of it's reach for the moment.

M Human 1st level wilder

no postings from me today. only one here at work and im getting slammed.

The creatures lumbers forward and comes right up the the person at the front of the group growling (moving whitin 10 feet of the person at the front I think that's Gjurn)

M Human 1st level wilder

we still playing this???

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

i am waiting on everyone else to go

The creature is basically trying to scare you into running away. Moving forward was it's action now I'm waiting for you lot to go. Go ahead and post in any order I'll sort it out and npc our MIA character.

M Human 1st level wilder

just to help everyone: Chard has gone, the creature has gone, waiting on Ryer, then Lonen and then myself.

ive already stated that on my turn i am embracing the source

Lonen comes forward sword drawn and takes position next to Gjurn 10 feet on front of the beast.

Ok waiting on Ryer then if he hasn't posted by tomorow will bot him too I guess.

Male Human Borderlander (Saldaea) Wanderer 1

Ryer pulls out his shortbow and cautiously steps to the side of it, staying a bit back out of reach...

I wanna shoot it if it makes an attack/lunge at someone, but not instigate the actual fight..
I'll just put the roll here in case that happens:

Spoiler:

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
+3 from dex, +1 from point-blank shot
probably have to subtract 4 from being engaged in melee, dunno how that works with reach though
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Bit of a stand off then. Chard then creature.

Assuming Chard continues to ready and attack.

The decides to break the stalemate and comes forward and attacks swinging it's massive claws at Gjurn then Lonen (2 attacks)

attack Gjurn: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
attack Lonen: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 111d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

wow you guys got lucky!

Chard and Lonen had readied attacks and can swing back.

Now you can all post again in any order.

M Human 1st level wilder

Light! Beware those claws!

Gjurn will thrust half-heartedly with his spear, instead focusing on encasing the creatures face with air.

weave level 1 harden air on the creatures face. DC 14 reflex save

Forgot I was playing Lonen

Lonen attacks as the creature comes in to strike and puts a long gash in one of it's forearms as he avoids it.

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

The creature is moving around too much Gjurn fails to trap it in the weave. Creature reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

M Human 1st level wilder

well, that sucks! thankfully its a concentration weave...

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

Chard swings at the creature as it attacks

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

That was your readying action you can also act again.

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

chard uses the momentum from his swing to deliver another blow

attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

I have been having some difficulty posting on the site lately. For example I made a post here a few days ago and I guess it never showed up. That and it takes multiple tries for me to load the page I have to keep hitting refresh for like 15 minutes for it to come up.

Chard moves up to the beast and swings but doesn't manage to pierce it's thick hide. (A miss cause of natural armor)

Lonen moves up and attacks attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

He strikes the beast leaving another long gash in it's side. The beast howls in pain.

Ryer need you to post as well.

Ryer runs up and attacks with his shortsword but he misses the beast.

attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Suddenly a wolf lunges out of the forest and attacks the beast biting at it's hind leg, then another! and yet another! They Flank with your group and attack the beast from behind.

The beast swings it's mighty claw one at a Lonen that leaves a nasty gash across his chest and another at a wolf that sends it flying.

attacks: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 221d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 191d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

You can all post again in any order. Still around?

Male Borderlander (Saldaean) Woodsman lv1

Chard swings at the beast again
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
