i will trust your judgement on this. Maybe after clearing some of the other areas and resting we will be ready for this room. Lead the way Vraxel. On to the WS door and lots of treasure to fill our pouches!
Work it my friend. Be wary of why this is in good condition.
I ask myself with all the information I have, why is this metal door so indestructible.
here. Something in the papers I have been reading may possibly help.

You don't remember anything about a specific metal door.
The door pushes inward with some resistance. Time and neglect have not been kind to the hinges.
"A bizarre collection of antique goods rests upon wooden shelves that line the room. Several of the items contain tiny tags with labels written in a careful script."
Upon review, you believe this was a property room where prisoner's valuables would be held until there release.
You find a secret door on the E wall that conceals a small hidden safe.
In addition you find:
A set ot MW thieve's tools
A bronze war medallion fromt he Shining Crusade (40GP)
An unframed Taldan painting of Stavian I (100GP)
A set of a noblewoman's silver hair clips (35GP)
A MW dagger
A pouch containing a dozen MW shurikens
A MW silver long sword
A wand
Alamin do you know about the Shining Crusade? It was a Great War against Tar-Baphon an elder Lich of legend. Do you think the Whispering Way has brought this evil here? I hope the owner of the bronze war medallion earned an honorable death, or did he cross a line he should not have? Liches are too much evil even for me. Too much evil must be eradicated.
The Shining Crusade is one of the first lessons taught by my order. Sarenrae was heavily invovled in driving back that great lord of undeath, but even with all the assembled might brought to bear against him he was not destroyed only imprisoned. However, I think you are right Randtam and that the Whispering Way did something here to unleash the evil in these walls upon the town below. The Professor must have known this and in trying to put a stop to it, lost his life. We must be vigilant.
That is good thinking Vraxel. What of the dagger? You seem frightenly handy with those. Mayhap you should take that as well and put it to use? If it's all right with the rest of you, I'll take the long sword? I'm loathe to give up my goddesses blade, but silver can be handy against the undead and I don't seem to have quite the destructive force in my arms as Uuranx.

I believe I already possess 2 blades of masterwork quality so perhaps another could use this dagger or we could sell it or trade it for something more useful.
~Knowing smile~In that case, oh sufficiently equipped one, how about you take a look at that wall safe and see what's inside. Then we can continue our exploration of these ruins.
i guess I will take the wand and the MW dagger. Who wishes to carry the other items to bring back with us to fill our pouches? I can carry the MW shurkien and hair clips. Who would like to have my other dagger?

Why don't you keep it Randtam? They are good for throwing in a pinch, and I have found that you can never have too many good knives about you when the time comes.
All of the items radiate a lingering aura of evil. You think that while none of them are evil in and of themselves, they were possesed by very evil individuals and were at the scenes of extremely evil crimes.
As you pick up and study the pages of the thick, leather-bound spellbook you get chills. Much of the book has been ruined by mold growths but some of the contents remain legible. A quick review shows that the book once belonged to a Professor Hean Feramin. There appear to be several spells still viable on the pages, but as you turn towards the end of the book you find a page that has "RANDTAM" on it written in old dry blood.
You have no idea if they are cursed or not, but the residual evil on all of them, and after all this time secured in the safe, gives both Alamin and Uuranx a VERY bad feeling.
