I'm at 14/24...I'm more excited that this pond seems to be the spa meeting place for the officers of the miscellaneous magic item guild...they happened to be turned by a crazed necromancer while going over their top 5 acquisitions...let's check the pond.

I'm 10/17 HP. I say we search the pond and go after The man who is now Splatterman Gilb. Let's rest up. In my best Aliens movie voice. " don't you just realize we got our as$&$ kicked!"
we may have underestimated the prison. I fear the Professor did, too. This place is far more powerful than I thought. I would like to study the professors information to see if I can understand exactly why this prisons evil is so powerful now that I have been here. Also maybe ask the Professor a question. Paladins did you not sense this powerful and concentrated evil?
I am now15/17 HP.

Believe I am at 20/23 HP with Alamin's previous pulses.

This is an instant classic; easy top 10. Up there with "impregnate from afar" and "ahead is a room" etc.

I don't know about Uuranx, but I never thought to detect evil on the ENTIRE site. Uuranx, is that even possible with our gifts? I agree we should return to the Lorrimor house and fully recover before we return to this place. If THIS is what we have to face on the outside I can't begin to imagine the difficulties we will face INSIDE.

I think you forgot the verse about,
"Fleeing far, far away, the heroes lived another day. They came back later and, with true valour their honor defend'd. With blades and spell they vanquished foes, and that day became true heroes."

run away

My next course of action is to raid the pantry for some food and ale.

~smiling broadly~ I must rest and pray to the goddess, but your idea has great merit Vraxel. May I join you? Maybe some discussion about things other than bones and death will jog your memory and helpy you to discover your past.
Vraxel |
certainly, all our welcome
Randtam |
I shall take nourishment and rest as well.
I need to take another look at the Professors writing and information. He definitely misunderstood the evil power in the prison. So did I. This cost him his life, I do not want the same for us. Hopefully I will find something here that will help us.
I have also been contemplating at the end of our battle with the exploding/burning skeletons the last one cried out "join me!" I am not familiar with skeletons having this ability to articulate like this. Any ideas?
Alamin Silvergleam |
It is not unheard of for the undead to speak to the living. I am not surprised that given the power of that place those bones would be able to reach out to us with a message. When we return to the ruins we must be more careful. No more adventureous vipers if you please Randtam; Uuranx was right, we should have left the water alone and investigated the buildings.
Randtam |
Alamin....why would a skeleton speak to us and tell us to join him? Was it wanting to posses us? Join in its evil cause? You must have more knowledge about this subject than I do. I would love to learn more about this. It seemed odd to me.
Vraxel |
Maybe it just wanted us to join it in death, pretty much it was telling us to die.
Alamin Silvergleam |
I think it is as Vraxel says, the undead begrudge all the living and wish them to join their undead state

After eating and reviewing the events at the ruins with Kendra, the companions drift off in to an uneasy sleep.
The next day, over breakfast, Kendra breaks the news that there has been another act of grafitti. This time it was at the Town Hall, where a large bloody "O" was drawn out on the front doors of the building. The Sheriff is apparently baffled as he had most of his people up watching the monument that was previously defaced.

Randtam |
Once I get my knowledge about how to release the spirit from him and we will kill the spirit. It seems to me we need to become much stronger before we enter the prison. We need experience in this.
Do you wish to enter the prison instead? We can take a vote and I will defer to the group.
I ask the Sheriff where was Gib when this occurred.
Sheriff, I know you were watching the monument. But I am sure you were keeping an eye on Gib. What was he doing? Where has he been?
Carrion Crown CAW |
~Sheriff Benjan Caeller~You again, eh? Yes we were keeping an eye on Gib. My man says that he was in his shack the entire night of the latest incident, so not much I can do with regards to him.
Alamin Silvergleam |
"I will go, though I would like to know why in the nine hells we couldn't have asked him these damn questions when we saw him yesterday!? Runnin around in frickn circles!"
I will remain here and prepare for our return to the prison. I know that our recent encounter was a close one, but I feel that the answers we will need to find are within its walls.
Randtam |
If I kill Gib that is one less willing participant in this evil. I go kill Gib and the spirit (I need to learn more about how this works). I believe the Sheriff and entire populace are useless and ignorant.
Carrion Crown CAW |
A short walk later you and Vraxel have traversed from the Sheriff's office back to Gib's hut.
You appear to have caught him at the end of his morning chores-a fresh stack of wood has been chopped and he is sitting on the edge of a large log sharpening his axe.
He looks up as you approach and spits in your direction, You people just can't get enough of ole Gib now can you? What is it now? Gonna tell the Sheriff on me again and have his boys follow me all day? Ha! Those boys couldn't find their way out a wet paper sack! The least you coulda done was bring your pet for chores and the whore for me to look at...
He eyes you bitterly.
