Yup ... dice gods still hate me ... half plus 1 it is

Asturu Renaro |

1d8 ⇒ 6
.. well, I can't complain. Will post leveling up stuff early tomorrow.

Timo Zoci |

I've leveled up in my profile.

Daidalos Icarum |

Profile updated.

Asturu Renaro |

+1 level Investigator
+9hp (+6 class, +2 con, +1 favored class)
+1 BAB
+1 REF/WILL
+11 SKILL POINTS (+6 class, +1 human, +2 int, +2 campaign)
(+1 Perception, +1 Disable Device, +1 Stealth, +1 Craft Alchemy, +1 Intimidate, +1 Sense Motive, +1 Appraise, +1 Disguise, +1 Linguistics, +1 Spellcraft, +1 Knowledge Arcana)
+Poison Lore
(An investigator has a deep understanding and appreciation for poisons. At 2nd level, he cannot accidentally poison himself when applying poison to a weapon. If the investigator spends 1 minute physically examining the poison, he can attempt a Knowledge (nature) check to identify any natural poison or Knowledge (arcana) check to identify any magical poison (DC = the poison’s saving throw DC). Lastly, once a poison is identified, he can spend 1 minute and attempt a Craft (alchemy) check (DC = the poison’s saving throw DC) to neutralize 1 dose of the poison. Success renders the dose harmless. The investigator has no chance of accidentally poisoning himself when examining or attempting to neutralize a poison.)
+Poison Resistance +2
I went ahead and picked up a couple more skills that I had yet to get a rank in. If anyone has any recommendations, please do let me know. I got 11 (or 12 with fav class bonus) skill points to play with so I can easily fill up any skill weaknesses in our roster :)

Inëlûkii |

having played several investigator characters, I highly recommend that you take at least 1 rank in every knowledge skill.... if you do that, you can roll your inspiration die on them all without spending a point of inspiration. (if you don't have a rank in it, you have to spend the point, just sayin')... if you've already got that covered, ignore this, lol.

Price |

I agree with Luke's idea. You may not use all those Knowledge skills all the time but they do come in handy from time to time. I suspect we'll have quite a bit of mission variation so you never know what will be useful. We may need some 'creative' solutions and info gathering.
Or you can just take 11 Ranks in Swimming. I'm sure SnowHeart won't mind you going over that Ranks Per Level Limit for that valuable skill. :)

Asturu Renaro |

Check. I'll aim for Engineering, Nobility, Dungeoneering and the Planes next level. After that, I'll go and max swimming and climb :)

Daidalos Icarum |

Ah, right. I knew I was forgetting something. Level up summary will be posted tonight.

Price |

I'm gonna take 6 ranks in 'Social Climbing' (it's a little know Hidden Skill) next level-up! I wanna know famous people... and kill them.

Asturu Renaro |

Surely we'll be showered with kindness and appreciation. Right? Right?

Daidalos Icarum |

It's all unicorns, rainbows, and wiggling puppies from here, man. :)
I mean, I get the others, but how exactly does one kill a rainbow?

Daidalos Icarum |

Spells added to spellbook: Mage Armor, Ray of Enfeeblement
Skills: (9) 1 rank each in K (arcana, dungeoneering, geography, history, local, planes), Bluff, Linguistics, and Spellcraft.
Language Learned: Azlanti (no real reason, but I had the idea that Daidalos is something of an Azlanti fanatic, and I'm running with it)
Note: I forgot to add an FCB for level 1, so I had one extra unallocated skill point, which I put in Perception. Level 2's FCB was as well.

Affyria Strex |

Still need to lvl Affyria, I'll get on that now.
1d8 ⇒ 2

GM Snowheart |

Hey all. Just so you're not wondering or waiting, Morthos/Javell and I have been exchanging some PMs the last few days and he's going to take a little bit of a break from the campaign. He may come back later, we are not killing off his character, and I'm not looking to replace him with another player. Rather, this is, IC, a pretty good branching point so Morthos is just going to go a different direction for now but could rejoin later.

GM Snowheart |

I don't think Villain Points are naturally occurring. Hero Points go through an alchemical process and Villain Points come out the other end.

Price |

LOL! Good to know!
OK, serious question for the panel... 'Sex in PF'
I see this as a team sport so I don't want anyone being uncomfortable with how I'm playing Price. I'd rather dial her behavior back or cut it out altogether if anyone is getting creeped out (in a bad way). If I've already crossed comfort lines for anyone - I apologize, sincerely. My tolerance for RP shenanigans is pretty high so I might have accidentally crossed someone else's line without realising it. Hence, the reason for this post.
Here is my comfort level regarding any of our PCs with other PCs or NPCs:
I don't mind some flirting/innuendoes or characters of any gender or combination hooking up. If I were writing the scene, I would go as far as having the characters head off to a room, describing the scene in a post or two that 'sets the mood' and hints at what might happen, and then fade to black. Then things can pick up the next morning with Captain Kirk pulling on his boots and the green alien hottie looking all sated and satisfied.
I'm very comfortable at that level. But that might be too far for others. FWIW, I don't intend to have Price as a love interest or getting any romantic plot lines going. That's not how she rolls - sex is either recreational or it is the best way for her to compromise/infiltrate a target. She is selective about who she beds and she won't be wading through an endless parade of NPCs or PCs.
So, if you want to speak up here, great. If you'd rather drop me a note privately to express your discomfort (and receive another apology) please do that. I've signed more NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) than you can imagine, so any PMs will remain strictly between us.
Thanks.

Daidalos Icarum |

Eh, my general guideline is to keep it PG-13. It's a reasonable level in my opinion, so take that as you will.

GM Snowheart |

Yeah, on the boards, I think anything explicit/R-rated should be a "fade to black". Personally, I find the flirtation hilarious and have no problem but this is one of those areas where "it's everyone's" table so I appreciate asking everyone.

Timo Zoci |

I'm good with pretty much what you described.

Price |

Would you say my 'fade to black' description fits your idea of PG-13? Or does it sound more NC-17? I'm trying to get a feel for where your line is.

I would say 'Fade to black' (or scene change, I suppose) is basically a textbook PG-13 editing trick ;).

Affyria Strex |

Never sure what all those ratings mean, but I'm cool with everything.

GM Snowheart |

PG-13 is Americans' sense of what is appropriate for teenagers but not younger children.
Okay: murder, death, violence, maybe some guns, light cursing, maybe some kissing.
Not Okay: sex.
Have to keep our precious darlings away from corrupting influences. ;-)
R means you can have sex but not graphic. Needs to be stylistic. Maybe a boob shot, maybe an ass shot, but no man parts (those are scary) and a love scene probably shouldn't last longer than 60 seconds. (Murder death and destruction are still perfectly fine, and more cursing is acceptable, too.)
NC-17 is just short of hardcore porn

Asturu Renaro |

I really don't mind any of it, but that must be my corrupted Dutch upbringing playing its part. We get to see boobs on tv. The horror.

Asturu Renaro |

We got our very own Bible belt that runs smack through the middle of the country. Clearly it has some kind of anchoring effect or perhaps it is because we live under sea level.

Affyria Strex |

I've always felt that Europeans were far more tolerant of sexuality on tv in general. The divide between sex vs. violence on American tv has never made sense to me.

Price |

It doesn't make sense to a lot of Americans either. I could make some speculative arguments on what in our culture gave birth to this dichotomy of sex being 'bad' but violence being 'ok'... but none of it would have a strong factual basis, just my opinion.
@Asturu - well that is just plain science, so it must be right. :)

Daidalos Icarum |

Long post comin tonight- this scene demands a detailed write up, and I need my computer for that.
However, what day is it? I ask because I'm thinking about keeping an in-character journal, which would be nice to be able to date appropriately.

Affyria Strex |

Very much enjoyed Price's breakdown and skepticism of the contract, so I wanted to elaborate on Affyria's willingness to immediately bend the knee, so to speak.
Affyria at this point, is a burgeoning devil worshipper. She's young, naive, and, right now, utterly impressed with the display of might that a living, powerful devil has been presented to her. She's probably way too eager to jump in with both feet, but she has very little actual knowledge about devils and their workings (presented by no ranks in Knowledge: planes yet). She is utterly devoted to Asmodeus however, seeing him as somewhat of a father figure at the moment, due to her own infernal blood. In ten levels or so, she'll be a lot more knowledgeable, and skeptical. Besides, Thorn kind of already showed us his hands of cards that we can either sign this contract or be killed. We might end up as servants for the next group of PC's wandering into the mansion.

GM Snowheart |

We might end up as servants for the next group of PC's wandering into the mansion.
LOL. I'd never do that. Roll Sense Motive, DC 5000

Price |

Come on, Nat 20...
SM: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Awwwww....
Thanks for the explanation, Affyria! I was chalking it off to Affyria being a cleric of Asmodeus and in need of a new 'church' to call home. It's cool that you've got that much invested in your backstory/history.

Asturu Renaro |

Asturu has gone a little mad (or rather, tossed overboard some unwanted empathy and emotions) thanks to his trials and tribulations. Where some only need a warm meal and a hug at the end of the day, all he needs is the ability to take revenge and write a philosophical treatise .. with the blood of his enemies.

Daidalos Icarum |

Dang, so my Nat 20 doesn't even give a hint for what Tiadora is? Wow.

GM Snowheart |

Ah, sorry, I missed that.
Right now you've only speculation that Tiadora is a devil. You do know (or have reason to suspect) she can cast enchantments. If she is a devil, she can either shapechange or has a powerful illusion cast upon herself. But because you only have those two datapoints (which could just as easily be satisfied by a modestly powerful mortal spellcaster), there just isn't enough visible evidence for me to give you a statement as to what she is or is not.
However, with a roll like that (to parse the OOC and IC), you could go through all the devils and Daidalos could come up with a list of which devils would be capable of these things. (With six bestiaries, that's beyond my time at the moment.)
I want to emphasize though that IC speculation is perfectly appropriate (and certainly appropriate OOC) but please be sure you're not letting any metagame knowledge color your PCs' actions.

Daidalos Icarum |

Well, of course. Daidalos' primary reason to suspect her being a devil of some sort was Thorn's comment that 'Why, I do control lots of devils, right Tiadora?' Which led him to believe that she was a devil of some sort herself. Now, that could be wrong, but he's currently operating under the assumption she is, and I rolled the Knowledge accordingly.
I'lltry to find the appropriate devils if I get some time today. Granted, Bestiary 6 isn't on the Archives yet, but I've heard there aren't any devils in it beyond the Archdevils.

GM Snowheart |

... but I've heard there aren't any devils in it beyond the Archdevils.
Who says she can't be an archdevil? :-O
>:-)

Now there's a terrifying thought.
Though I doubt an arch devil would be willing to be bound by even the High Proest of Asmodeus, if they even could in the first place. From a more practical stance, though. WotW came out before B6.
