"Idiot!" Axchard's face is so red he looks like he could burst.

"She," he jabs Alis in the chest with a beefy finger so hard she's nearly knocked back against the wall, "is the princess of Ilmarond, and that is her fu<king bodyguard! How many seven foot tall mooks that look like they are more animal than man go hanging around with short, busty elf girls?!"

From behind the leader of the Tar Dogs, the gang leader Mal knocked out earlier cries out, "Yeah Boss, it's the same ones alr–"

"Shaddap!"

"First," he cracks his knuckles, "I'm going to knock all of their asses out. THEN, I'm going to [i]beat you to within an inch of death before I force you to watch me bend her over that table there!"

With that, he lunges at Felmor, catching him in the gut with his shoulder and laying him out on the table.

She looks down at the drunk Jervis, "You even move and I swear I'll mount your head on a post."

Priyya is now out of Perfect Strikes.

Priyya's first arrow practically screams as it flies towards Axchard's right eye. Just when she's certain she'll have ended the fight before it can even start, he reaches up with blinding speed and catches it an inch from his face snapping it into spliters with an iron grip.

Without flinching as her second arrow sticks in his forearm, he tears the shaft free and flicks it aside like it was a mere tick. "Best listen to the woman, Jarvis, I want to kill you myself..."

Jarvis merely nods at the two looming figures and doesn't budge even when Trisa recovers her wits and dives under the bed beneath him. Outside, the Tar Dogs look at each other and shrug their shoulders uncertain as to what to do and having no wish to get in their Boss' way.

Next Up: Alis, (Jar & Tri, Enemies), Mal, Lureene, Felmor; Axchard, Priyya

Noting the lack of weapons on the man and ease with which he deflected Priyya's arrow, Alis decides to put some distance between herself and Boss Axchard. With a leap, she attempts to tumble past him, but the grizzled brute isn't fooled and backhands her so hard that only Mal's quick reflexes stop her from hitting the desk head-first.

Alis wince at her bruised cheek, and spits blood. With a gleam in her eyes, she says, "Well it seems like this one's about as rude and crude as they come. Guess that just means we don't have to concern ourselves with manners now, doesn't it?"

With that, she touches Mal on the arm and says, "Go get 'im, tiger!"

He thinks, Aye, I would love ta divorce me wife, that would be a capital idea, due ta irreconcilable differences. Plus, she be me Cap'n, 'n that be fraternization.. He picks himself up groggily from the table and with a helpful push from his now Ex-wife starts singing a sailors ditty, concerning a lonely sailor who searches far and wide for his one true love, his Desert Rose.

Concealed from sight, Lureene has no trouble at all casting the spell from Nial's scroll. Instantly she appears and Axchard has the presence of mind to duck out of the way a tiny glowing projectile streaks towards the gaping doorway. A split second later, the pea-sided ember bursts into a roaring ball of fire and shouts of surprise and pain erupt from the barracks.

While Lureene can see only 4 men hit the floor, no fewer than seven wither under the effects of her spell!

As Felmor picks himself up and begins singing, Alis manages half a grin in spite of the swelling in her face. "So it wasn't my sister you were thinking about after all! She'll be positively crushed!"

Although Mal's blow hits, it fails to reach its intended target when Axchard catches the edge of the axe in his meaty hand. "Gonna have to do better than that, kid."

Having helped Felmor with his vocal lessons, and familiar with the song that he's singing besides, Alis joins in adding a soothing harmony to his song. As the princess sings, she, Felmor, Jarvis, and Trisa all begin to feel the alcohol induced stupor dampening their senses begin to fade.

In mid-verse, Alis rolls over the top of the table and reaches into her backpack whereupon she pulls free a familiar black blade with Felmor's heraldry on the scabbard. She gives him a wink as she offers it to him, hilt first.

Priyya seems amused. "Why the boot? Is your c0ck too small for anyone to notice? Speak it true - the monkly vow of celibacy is how you explain away the fact that you can't it up, right?"

Priyya continues to bait Axchard, hoping to draw his attacks away from the heavy hitters in the group. Looking at the size of the brute, she thinks His rebuttal is going to hurt - a lot.

The man's taunts do the trick, and Mal drops the axe, driving at the brute of a man with both claws, swinging furiously.

His foot then lashes out sweeping Fel's legs from underneath of him, quickly followed by a powerful kick to the downed sailor's guts. "Stick to singing, boy."

He then sidesteps to place himself closer to Alis. "Don't go anywhere, Princess, I'm gonna give you a matching bruise for the other side."

Lureene's magic missile impacts him in the chest and he laughs. "On second thought, maybe I'll do her first. Gonna shove that stick in her eye..."

The card dealer begins to objects, but Jarvis cuts her off. "Just do what she says, sweetie. They're the only thing keeping Axchard from gutting us!"

With a nervous sigh, the woman extricates herself from below the bed and grumbles, "Tired of that creepy snake licking its lips at me anyway..."

She begins making her way to the opposite side of the room where Jarvis informs her there is rope amongst the supplies.

Still standing in front of the doorway, Priyya frowns. She can make out Alis standing over against the south wall of the barracks, but if Axchard is out there, he is either invisible or outside her vantage point.

With Priyya covering the field of view immediately in front of the doorway, Mal moves forward, confident that his back is covered. After passing thru the doorway, however, he is unable to see either Alis or Axchard, although he can smell that they obviously both passed this way just a moment ago.

His eyes narrowing, he moves further out into the room so that at least anyone seeking to attack him won't have any cover. He pauses for a moment considering Priyya's visual acuity and testing the air with his nose. He can smell Alis' lavender perfume coming from the south in fact, he's certain that he just passed her a few feet from the foot of the table. If Axchard was there, she'd likely either be under attack, or have flushed him out. From where Priyya was standing though, the northwest corner of the barracks and the hallway leading north would be out-of-view...

Mal takes a few tentative steps north from the end of the table, with each step, his nose indicates he is somewhere to the west and still in the room. Keeping his claws at the ready, he steps into the space by the two beds there. His nose tell him that the man should be in the corner (M28), but for the life of him, Mal can't see where the big bruiser is hiding.

Just behind him, he can tell that Lureene is follow him by the strong scent of her cinnamon perfume. For her part, Lureene isn't faring any better at uncovering their hidden enemy. Meanwhile Grak crawls out from beneath the bed and struggles his way up on top of the desk next to it where he can see the room.

Seeming caring little for stealth (based off of how much ground he seeks to cover), Felmor scrambles to his feet and dashes out the door. He runs clear past Alis without noticing and continues a few feet past her along the south wall.

Further south, Alis bides her time with crossbow in one hand and rapier in the other, waiting for the enemy to make a mistake.

As far as I'm concerned you are just another Tar Dog who helped your crew burn this city down and kill a lot of innocents. We've left a lot of Tar Dog bodies in our wake... and we are going to leave more. Killing scum like you is a public service. I've offered you a chance to surrender, twice. Both times you ignored me and caused us problems. You don't get a third chance to be smart and I'm out of mercy. The next time you disobey me, object, give me lip, or do anything I deem questionable - I'm putting 3' of steel through your chest."

Sense Motive DC:0:
Priyya is absolutely serious.

Mike, my Daylight spell should last for 40 minutes. Is it still on?

So where is Mal on the map? O-30? And I'm confused. Are the lights out in here? Dark enough to confound low-light vision and darkvision?

IF daylight is ON, Priyya will hold position (so as not to light up Alis and Felmor) AND (see IC text below)
IF daylight is OFF, Priyya will move 5' into the door square AND (see IC text below)

Priyya sweeps the far wall area, detecting for evil move action. If she spots Axchard's position, she will call it out. Regardless, she will say, "I just heard him drinking something - noisily - over there." She points in the rough direction, but he could have moved.

Priyya then readies an attack. Hopefully, Axchard will draw a ranged attack from someone else, in which case Priyya will follow their shot with her own. If not, and Trisa starts doing something dumb, she gets the arrow.

Stand Acting READY ATTACK - Single shot (SHORTBOW crit: 20/3x):
To Hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Post: Priyya casts Daylight

Rounds elapsed 504 - 26 = 478/400 rounds

Looks like it would have expired about 8 minutes ago.

Ben: The room is dimly illuminated. The rogues who live here not only like to keep it that way, but several of them were trying to sleep. Lureene's fireball obliterated any torches or candles, so the only light now comes from any furniture that is still burning — which also puts a good bit of smoke in the air.

As for where Mal is, on his first move action, he moved to the center of the room: O30. Finding nothing, he then moved north, then west to N29, following his nose. Lureene basically cut-corners by lagging behind him until he stopped.

Trisa throws her hands up in the air, and shrieks with frazzled nerves, "I'm looking for the rope alright? There's a lot of junk over here to sort thru!"

Priyya gets the sense that the young woman is being honest and that further bullying is only making her shaky. Trisa opens the crate in front of her and begins tossing supplies to the ground as she continues to search for rope. Finding none, she moves on to the next barrel.

When Priyya turns back to the room, she takes a step forward and begins sweeping the chamber for evil starting with where she heard the potion being consumed and sweeping east. She does not find anything, although she would have sworn that something just brushed the cuff of her sleeve, though she neither sees nor hears anything that could have done so.

Rolls:
Priyya's perception 1d20 + 18 - 5 ⇒ (7) + 18 - 5 = 20 distracted by shouting at NPCs

Correction: Priyya does detect evil. It is coming from the marksmen over by the stairs who have just finished barring a door down a short passageway on the north-east side of the barracks.

Trying to pick us off, huh? His eyes dart back to the room where the idiot tar dog and his woman are. And probably trying to do some cleanup.

"Everyone fall back into that room and get defensive. Watch each others backs. I'll be last in." Then he gives the room another sniff, continuing to try to pin-point the man.

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23.
If Mal locates the man by any sense, he'll hit him with Faerie Fire (no save. 5' radius based on the square in which I detect him). Whether or not his spell lands, Mal will try to yell out the man's precise location using a landmark in the room.
If he cannot locate he man, he'll ready an action to move back into the room once everyone else has done so.Ending in the square just inside the room so anyone has to go through him to go in or out.

"You better take your opportunity here, tough guy. I have your scent and know your face. If you don't kill me now, along with my friends, we will hunt you til we find you. And we will kill you. Not because it's the right thing to do. I could give a damn about what's right. But because once I'm on the hunt, there are only two ways it ends..."

Silently heeding her bodyguard's battle orders, Alis slips unseen back into the room. She keeps to the corner she was in when this first started so that she can watch Priyya's back. Her weapons are at the ready in case an opportunity to attack presents itself.

Dammit, where is he?

Rolls:
Alis' Checks

MAP: Dunwaar Streets, (Round 504b)

Felmor moves quickly back into the room, his sword ready to strike at Axchard, should he decide to show himself. He silently waves at Alis, and points further in the room, indicating Axchard may have already slipped inside.

Move action move to O27
Standard action: Ready Attack longsword 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 = 11 drunk
Damage 1d8 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (4) = 8, fire

Lureene slips into the room and moves next to Alis.

Move action: move to Q26
Maintain Readied action to use wand on Axchard, should she see him.

As Alis passes her, Priyya whispers "Something unseen seemed to brush my sleeve. Whether heading in or out, I can't say."

After Alis is watching her back I'm assuming Priyya can see the marksmen if she can detect evil in them Priyya will loose her held arrow into the back of the marksman.

She says, "I'm tired of this fool's game. I'm going to open that door, bring down the rest of the troops and we'll cut this idiot down with sheer weight of numbers." Priyya hasn't decided if she actually intends to do that, but it might flush their game.

After everyone else has entered the room, Mal follow suit and immediately smells Axchard standing in the middle of your group. He immediately begins casting his spell.

No sooner does he do so than are his legs swept out from under him and he falls to the ground. In spite of it, he gets his spell off and Axchard is limned in blue flames as his invisibility fades.

Immediately, Lureene blasts him with her wand even as Alis strikes him in the side with her rapier. Priyya turns and expertly sends an arrow flying at the man's heart, but he once again deflects it with ease.

End of Round 504

With nowhere left to run, Axchard proceeds to follow up his prior attack on Mal with a powerful kick to the solar plexus. As the big warrior gasps for air, Axchard taunts, "I'm gonna put my boot thru your fu<king face, freak!"

Even with the warning, Mal is unable to avoid what comes next. Axchard delivers a round-house kick to his head that puts the big man out cold and covers the floor and his face in blood.

The mob boss then turns on the woman who has been pelting him with magic missiles the entire fight. In seemingly one move, he catches her wrist crushing the wand from her grasp and drives an elbow into her jaw. With his barrage of attacks completed, he puts his back to the wall beside Lureene and braces himself for your attacks.

Theme: Stand Up, Be Strong — part 2

Dammit, we have to finish this guy fast, Mal's in a bad way and Lureene's about to get her head torn off...

Alis attempts to tumble past Axchard to give herself a more advantageous angle from which to attack. Yet she slips in Mal's blood and just barely avoids running straight into a punch from the hulking brute. Even with her ears ring from the force of the hit, she executes a riposte wounding Axchard yet again.
