Readied actions interrupt the triggering action. However, Rand is correct, Tychi/Nike were delaying, not readying.
Ride: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (11) + 25 = 36
Tychi smiles as the ogre makes a fatal mistake and tries to hit the bigger easier target first. He whistles a short blast and Nike and Tychi's combined sense of training kick in, and Nike sidesteps the club as it comes down and hits the floor of the cave instead.
Tychi goes into a blur of motion, taking advantage of the off-balance ogre. He spends a precious Ki Point to give both himself and Nike an extra attack.

Nike let's out a piercing whistle of challenge. "Ignore the bird brain, kill that thing so we can fall back to a better position to fight!"

Tychi's whirlwind of attacks slash, cut and rend the ogre...it barely has time to realise what has happened to it, before it's eyes go glassy and it falls backwards....but the enthusiastic Tengu has left a fine mist of acid in the air...an unfortunate side effect of attacking the acid-pustule ogre with a bladed weapon.
It takes Tychi's first four attacks to kill the ogre...so Tychi and Nike each need to make 4 DC18 Reflex Saves to avoid 1d6 damage for each required save
Meanwhile, Carran very wisely steps back from the creature that was 'Waldat'...but, between moving backwards and his continued fear of the creature, he fails to land a single arrow from his volley...
I have moved Carran back on the map...in such a way that he doesn't end up trapped against the 'punishment cages'
Major Luke Rand and Figwidget can take their turn...noting that Major Luke Rand has a save to make following 'Waldat's' Blinding Critical

Since Tychi killed it before Nike could attack, Nike continues to hold her action, and will use those rolls to attack any Ogres that attack the rest of the round, being too stupid to learn from the pile of gibbets on the floor. At least the gibbets should make that 10x10 trecherous ground. :) Ogre guts is slippery.

Tychi |
Remember, Nike had attacks against the new ogre, two piercing gores and two hooves, already rolled. Does it survive those, or does it go down?
GM Zed |
The Ogre survives Nike's attacks (all of her attacks hit but she doesn't do enough damage to bring the ogre down
I don't think you can ready against a charge unless you have the Brace feature on your weapon? The charge is one Full Round Action that, as the Ogre is far away when it commences the action, you can't actually interrupt? Happy to be told I am wrong / taught otherwise...but it is probably irrelevant in this instance...Ogre still does damage / Nike still does damage
Don't forget the DC18 Reflex Saves required...4 for Tychi / 4 for Nike...
Tychi |
Why do I need reflex saves? You said it was bladed weapons. Nike's attacks are piercing (horn) and bludgeoning (hoof). Or do you mean for the previously killed Ogre? In which case, they were already made above. And no, wasn't worried about interrupting his action, I knew that couldn't happen. Just wanted to make sure Nike's hits were taken into account.

My bad, the Acid Pustules are only from Piercing and Slashing, so Nike's bludgeoning attacks will not generate that effect...so just 1 save required per Horn (Piercing) hit...2 from her readied attacks (which have been taken into account...and 1 from the attacks she just made

Major Luke Rand, Tychi and Figwidget, you may take your turn now...Tychi / Nike, Reflex Saves as well please...
Major Luke Rand |
The major will draw on his experience dealing with rogues in the city, who often would use blinding tactics, to deal with the loss of sight created by Waldat.

btw, now I don't lose my dex to AC while blinded.

I would have used a 5-foot step and Sudden Shift if I had to move more than 5-feet, because else I could not have full attacked him. I could've sworn I wrote down using Sudden Shift as well.
Also Luke, Waldat is already down for the count.
Tychi |
I'm confused about how many saves you want. You said 2 from her readied, which have already been taken into account. Does that mean you still want two for those, or you've already gotten those rolls? I'll just roll a bunch and use what you need then.

Carran – I’ll retcon Surprise Strike into your action…’Waldat’ has no Attack of Opportunity and I have returned you to 114/114HP
Major Luke Rand – If you want to retcon a different action as you hadn’t registered Waldat’s demise…I am happy for you to post something different
Tychi / Nike – Sorry I confused things. I’ll clarify, the reflex saves previously made by Tychi / Nike were from Tychi killing the first Ogre with a bladed weapon (taking four attacks to do so) – There were no saves made for Nike’s readied attacks (two of which were piercing attacks and require saves) on the second ogre…nor from the following piercing attack…and, as Tychi’s first attack (critical) brings the second ogre down, you will need a further save…(so: 2 from Nike readied attacks, 1 from Nike non-readied attacks and 1 from Tychi attack…4 Reflex Saves required…3 rolls already made in your last post, 1 more required)

GM Zed |
The two-headed giant creature screams at it’s workers…seeing them fail to land a single blow on Major Luke Rand and then watching them getting torn to pieces by the grenades that were meant to have been thrown at their enemies…it strides forward pushing two of the ogres to one side…and attacks the blinded Major…
Murg-Nurk, Slam (Non-Lethal) vs Major Luke Rand: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (14) + 23 = 37, missing
Meanwhile, the Ogres light another round of grenades.
Everyone may take their turn now
Map Update to follow
Nike |
Nike finds it karmically satisfying to damage the ogres with their own grenades.
Tychi |
Tychi & Nike hold their actions, waiting to throw grenades back at the ogres. If it looks like they are going to be smart this time and hold onto them instead until the last moment, they'll decide what to do at that time.
Major Luke Rand |
Hearing the one giving orders move closer, Luke will step up to him and hit him with his shield.
Fighting Defensively: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 201d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 171d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Damage in case I hit: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 162d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 162d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 4) + 10 = 17
my ac is currently 42 regular, 22 touch
Carran |
Carran takes a step further south and unloads a volley of arrows at ogre 3.
Ranged Attacks, Rapid shot Manyshot, Deadly Aim, Favored Enemy: 1d2 + 18 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 18 - 4 + 4 = 191d20 + 18 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 18 - 4 + 4 = 351d20 + 13 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 13 - 4 + 4 = 141d20 + 8 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 4 + 4 = 20

Carran |
Righto, seemed to have missed that d2 :)
Reroll first attack: 1d20 + 18 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 18 - 4 + 4 = 20 Wow a 2, but still that 20 should hit so :)
Damage: 2d8 + 32 + 8 ⇒ (8, 7) + 32 + 8 = 551d8 + 16 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 16 + 4 = 28
GM Zed |
Major Luke Rand's attacks upon the two-headed creature all fail to find their mark...in his darkness, the major can hear two different voices laughing as he flails...
Carran's arrows find their target, again, again and again...the entangled ogre, still wreathed in smoke, collapses as the final arrow pierces an artery in it's neck...
GMPC for Figwidget
Figwidget, Bomb vs Ogre 6: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 13 - 2 = 23, hitting for 7d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 3, 6, 1, 2) + 7 = 31
Another bomb crashes against the flank of one of the ogres...as it starts to charge towards the party...
The two headed creature screams at it's failing charges, "Charge them!!!"
Tychi / Nike: It appears that the ogres are not going to toss their grenades this round... Are you still delaying or acting?
GM Zed |
Moving things along
Tucking the fizzing grenade into it’s belt and trampling over the corpse of it’s fallen comrade, the closest ogre charges Figwidget and smashes it’s oversized club into the gnome.
Ogre 6, Club vs Figwidget (Charge): 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 17 + 2 = 38, hitting for 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
The next ogre is more cautious and approaches with it’s grenade ready to toss.
Meanwhile, the blinded Major Luke Rand is enduring a beating from the two-headed giant and one of the ogres, ”Just knock him out!!!!”

Ogre 4 throws grenade away and drags Major Luke Rand at half speed
Everyone may take their turn now
Carran |
Carran sees the ogre dragging Luke away and decides to try and take out the ogre in his way and the then the ogre dragging Luke. He loads another batch of arrows onto his bow and fires away at ogre 6 first and then at ogre 4 if ogre 6 goes down.
Ranged Attacks, Manyshot, Rapid Shot, PBS, Favored Enemy, Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 18 + 1 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 18 + 1 + 4 - 4 = 321d20 + 18 + 1 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 18 + 1 + 4 - 4 = 221d20 + 13 + 1 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 1 + 4 - 4 = 151d20 + 8 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 4 - 4 = 12

Nike |
Sorry, I swear I posted a response over the weekend (it was a 3 day weekend for me) but I guess the forum ate it.
Previous Round
Tychi tosses his whipsword down at Carran's feet, and pulls his Kusarigami. He then attacks the ogre that charged Figwidget with it.
PA Kusarigami: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (3) + 25 = 28
Nike will then grab Figwidget by the back of the neck with her teeth and fling him behind her to get him out of the way. The she five ft adjusts.
Grab: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 Should work, theoretically he won't resist
This round
PA Kusarigami Flurry 1: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
PA Kusarigami Flurry 2: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
PA Kusarigami Flurry 3: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
PA Kusarigami Flurry 4: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
PA Kusarigami Flurry 5: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
PA Kusarigami Flurry 3 Confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Damage 1: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (1) + 25 = 26
Damage 2: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (1) + 25 = 26
Damage 3: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (4) + 25 = 29
Damage 4: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (1) + 25 = 26
Damage 5: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 25 = 27
Damage 3, Crit Bonus: 1d6 + 25 ⇒ (3) + 25 = 28
Need to know if the ogre survives that before I continue
