If you're using FeedDemon, yeah, sometimes they seem to spontaneously reset for some reason.

Looked like everybody did when PF updated the website a couple of days ago. The Paizo support team was communicating with people about it in a Website Feedback thread.

Personally, I think we're screwed, here. If I remember right, Mummies hit hard and often, and Mummy Rot is a Bad Thing. We're pretty much out of offensive magic (depending on what Ahmed has up his sleeves), and all of Izra's fire abd/or holy water weapons are back at the room. I suspect that she can do some damage with CMW, but he's probably able to break her in two or three hits. Her 50% miss chance helps, but that's a tough thing to rely on.

Anyone else got any bright ideas?

Assuming it tanks DJ's Control Undead, yeah. A mummy would be a decent encounter at our level even with full resources. DM managed to fake us out with the mooks and "screwed" seems about right.

This will make DJ want to pick up Craft Wand or something to make sure he doesn't get caught out like this again, but beyond one Ear Piercing Scream he doesn't have much to contribute to the rest of this fight.

Mummies are slow and don't have a ton of HP. Torin could kite it forever.

They also are vulnerable to fire and we have alchemist fire.

The characters don't know that, though. And not all of us have alchemist's fire with us.

We might pull it off, but it's likely to cost us.

Ahmed does have the ability to throw fire, which is one of his few offensive abilities, (plus he knows about Mummies) so that's likely a thing he'll try to do regardless of player knowledge.

Unfortunately, we're in the middle of an urban area with lots of civilians that are at risk. This is one of those "time to hero up" kinds of situations.

That being said, Torin is LN, so would be down with using the NPCs a distractions and just letting the actual authorities deal with the situation. He falls more into the mercenary camp of PCs.


Forgot to add the "fire vulnerability". Anyone who made the religion check would know that they are vulnerable to fire. Thanks for catching that, guys.

DJ is honestly tapped out. He's used most of his useful scrolls and all of his combat-relevant memorized spells. From here until we can rest he's going to be throwing acid and shooting arrows (badly). Just FYI.

In earlier times our local group used to wade into battle no matter what. And we frequently got our rears handed to us. Lots of PCs died and had to be re-rolled.

One day the GM said, "You know guys, you don't have to take on everything you come across. It's okay to back away if you're outmatched."

Wise advice, but as I recall it still took us a long time -- and plenty more dead PCs -- to internalize that.

Relative to your comment on being tapped out, Djehuti, one of my wiser PCs has adopted the mantra, "There's no shame in running away, if you plan to come back and kick butt later."

The problem is, I don’t see a group of "hero/adventurer types" in the middle of a major crisis, saying, "one of us is out of a consumable resource. We should go to bed and chill out while the world around us goes to hell."

After a while, yes, the new normal kicks in, but in the first 24-48 hours, folks tend to work until/through exhaustion.

On a more meta/game focused level, while Djibuti has used an inordinate percentage of his consumable resources for the day, that is in part because the rest of us didn't have our resources available to use. So the party is actually above "half full," as it were. We're a touch out of balance, but not in dire straits.

Also, I'll bet we can find a magic shop that would feel gratitude for being rescued... :)

I say we adventure a bit more. At least get to the Pharasmin temple, rescue some folks, and get an idea of what we're up against.

Koshu's main resource is his strength and stamina, so he's not opposed to going out to kick undead butt.

Sorry for my delay. But I'ts been a brutal few days. I sort of need to be blunt. On Friday, June 9th, my father tried to kill himself. I'm the only close relative to him and so I've been dealing with that. It's been difficult to say the least.

I'm going to be getting back to my games a little slowly. But I do plan on coming back. Because frankly I need RPGs, especially now. I beg your forgiveness and ask for a little patience as I settle back in.

Izra, I wanna say that moving diagonal through difficult terrain would be counted as "2-4-2-4". But had the combat not already been over I would have just asked for an acrobatics roll to move through it normally. I'm not sure if that's a by-the-book ruling, but I like using acrobatics checks when I can for players to do cool stuff.

Unfortunately Kwin and Torin were killjoys and so we couldn't see Izra Wire-fu antics. :-p
