DM-Valkur |
Thaddeus you step up adjacent to the statue where Lyre is hiding.
She replies back, "Orik is weak willed pig farmer, I serve the lady loyally and soon she will be triumphant..."
The woman suddenly silent as Thaddeus's spell dazes her.

Scoria the Stalwart |
Grapple Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Scoria slides forward, moving to grab the woman by her arm and prevent her from running again. She squeezes with vise like strength, staring at Lyrie dispassionately. Her marble like skin on her forearm is reddened from the flames, painful but not impossible to ignore.
Move to C6
Bel'Tanis |
Bel'Tanis manages to bring his shield up just in time to avoid most of Lyrie's flames, but a few still reach around and lick at his skin. He shakes the surprise from his head and wheels on the alcove to see his companions have already completely boxed the sorceress in. Not wanting to risk having everyone get caught in another gout of flame, he takes cover behind the nearby pillar.
His scimitar clatters to the floor as he draws a dagger, looking ready to throw it at Lyrie if she tries something.

Notick Mostriaré |
Notick sighs at the woman's ignorance. He raises his hand towards he slowly as he incant's another one of his spells. The dweomer around his body builds as a large burst of water erupts from the ground. He closes his hand into a fist, so causing the water to smash towards Lyrie to knock her prone.
Hydraulic Push (CMB): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Attempting to knock her down, giving Scoria her chance to knock this crazy person out with her AoO.
DM-Valkur |
Bel'Tanis you move behind the pillar, and ready an attack. Scoria moves in and grabs the woman and grapples her. Notick then casts a hydraulic push that knocks her prone. Khrondak then moves in to attack, but misses the woman in all the chaos.
Lyrie is grappled and prone.
Midori needs a round 1 action, and Thaddeus can take round 2.
Thaddeus Pruitt |
Despite his preferences, he knows that the woman may prove to be too much of an obstacle as long as she is conscious. Feeling bad about it, all he can do is tell her sincerely as he swings "I'm sorry about this." bringing his weapon down pommel first to try and take her out alive.
Attack with weapon for NL 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 4 + 4 = 14 (-4 for NL, +4 for prone, not including her grappled penalties)

Lyrie Round 2
The woman once again struggles against Scoria, "damn you woman let..me...GO."
She then slides a small wooden wand out of her belt and blasts Scoria with it.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Scoria, take five points of damage.

Khrondak Iron Forged |
Noticing that the group wishes to contain Lyrie rather than kill her, Khrondak moves to hit her with the handle of the earth breaker to knock her down; however, the weight og the hammer throws him off balance as he tries to use the weapon in this unusual manner.
1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 4 = 2
Scoria the Stalwart |
The monk is hit by the blast of force, but she doesn't let the woman go. Instead, she twists her arm around hard, attempting to dislocate her shoulder and cause her a great deal of pain. "You will submit or die."

DM-Valkur |
No worries Bel'Tanis, Pathfinder has lots of rules, easy to overlook sometimes. Also I think longstanding groups tend to play their own way too. All the rules sometimes makes me nostalgic for the old D&D B/X series.
Scoria with a final twist of Lyrie's arm, she slumps to the ground unconscious, her wand clattering to the floor.
Combat over.
Scoria the Stalwart |
The monk looks up at Bel'Tanis briefly, staring at his smile, before looking away. "...It was nothing. I should not have let her get away in the first place." The burns that the sergeant and Bel'Tanis had received spoke certainly of that.
She starts to pat down the unconscious woman, searching her for anything of importance. The quicker that was done the quicker they could proceed.

Scoria the Stalwart |
I'm assuming the potion and scrolls are labeled, then.
Scoria assesses her own condition after laying out and itemizing what Lyrie possessed. She's confident that she doesn't require healing at this moment, so she leaves the potion for right now, bundling everything up for later.
"We should go. Nualia should not be far now." The monk tells everyone, heading off to the next room. She keeps her temple sword in hand, staying quiet as she slips ahead to the next room, seeking out the woman who'd brought them here.

Thaddeus Pruitt |
Thaddeus suggests they not only tie the woman, but tie her to one of the pillars as well. Then he proceeds to try and make sense of what they found on her. As soon as he's done he comments to the others, Pardon me, but I am not currently feeling like I am at my best to face off against the woman we came to stop. I just need a moment to recover, as the burns were a bit intense."

Khrondak takes a look at the scrolls, speaking out loud the name of the spells inscribed in them. He then grabs the vial with the potion and takes a small sip. He feels a faint glimpse of positive energy starting to take hold of his body, and proclaims "This is a healing infusion. Take, it Scoria, you've been hit and we must be in shape to face Nualia." He hands the vial over to the monk. Then, the shoanti turns to the sergeant and places his right hand over Thaddeus' shoulder. "Let me." He closes his eyes and looks down in prayer.
Convert deadeye's lore to cure light wounds. Now I'm out of 1st-lvl spells and channel energy.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Scoria the Stalwart |
"I am fine. Give it to the sergeant instead," Scoria waves away the potion to the person complaining about their injuries. She'll wait until everyone is ready to press onwards.
Bel'Tanis |
With Lyrie dispatched and secured, the imminence of facing Nualia finally seems to settle on Bel'Tanis. As the others work together to identify the various items and potions that will surely be of use, Bel'Tanis paces slowly about the room, his right hand cradling his left while massaging his palm with his thumb. His eyes stay fixed on the floor as he wanders idly about.
Thaddeus Pruitt |
Thaddeus tells everyone the properties of the two items, at least as best as he can describe the protective aspects of the cloak. "Midori is right, if Nualia is nearby beyond this door we should be more prepared. I am able to use the wand, can anyone else? Also, the cloak may be helpful, to whomever we think would need it the most. Lastly, do we want to ensure we are at full health before continuing?"
Scoria the Stalwart |
Scoria sighs, looking at Thaddeus as he asks instead of directs once more. She can see that he's still pretty hurt, so obviously he needs the potion.
"Sergeant...drink the potion. Now." She tells him bluntly. She herself doesn't need to use one right now. The cloak seems like it would be useful to her, as she picks it up and takes a look at it, before looking at the others - and noting Bel'Tanis pacing around.
"...I will wear this, with no objections." She states to the group, folding the cloak over her arm before stepping over to the aasimar. She places a hand on his shoulder to get him to stop pacing around, looking up at him with her sapphire eyes.
"You will plead for Nualia's surrender. It is only fair." She speaks to him simply.
Notick Mostriaré |
Wow guys, I apologize for the massive delay on my part. I work retail, and the past few days have been beyond nuts due to work.
Notick nods with a sigh, "I could also use the wand if needed... And I will need to gander at that spell-book when time allows."
After Scoria speaks, he nods in agreement to her request for the cloak. He also nods his head after Scoria tries to comfort Bel'Tanis, walking up next to him opposite of Scoria. After a brief pause of the Stonemason's comforting words, he chimes in "And I can possibly help you achieve your goals of gaining her surrender. I'm... Somewhat of a good liar when needed." He smirks with a lopsided smile, nudging him slightly with his elbow, showing companionably.
DM-Valkur |
Beyond the door in the chamber you fought Lyrie.
This short hallway rises with a sight slope to the east. Five feet from from the western door, the floor is polished and shiny unlike the dusty floor elsewhere. A pair of stone statues depicting stern men wielding glaves stand in the in the alcoves north and south of this clean section of hallway. At the eastern end stand two stone doors, their faces carved with strange runes. Just past the doors is a third alcove in which a partially collapse statue sits. The top half of the statue is missing, leaving behind a ragged stump of a torso.
Are you going to leave Lyrie tied up in the chamber as you look for Nualia?
Scoria the Stalwart |
After everyone has finished things, Scoria leads the group forward, stopping as they enter the new room. She looks at the floor curiously, wondering why there isn't any dust here - as far as she had seen, cleanliness was not high on the list of priorities of Thistletop's inhabitants.
"...Watch your step," She says, checking to make sure that her suspicions was just paranoia before she forges ahead.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Thaddeus Pruitt |
Before we leave the room...
Thaddeus is taken aback by Scoria's insistence, before he explains, "I would suggest, considering we are all equals here, that if Midori has some healing spells she could use those if anyone still needs it. A potion is a finite resource, once imbibed it is gone. Spells can be refreshed over time. Also, the utility of a potion in times of hardship is greater than that of a single person with a spell."
He continues to explain his reasoning, "You see, if I am injured, then she would need to get to me to cast the spell. With a potion handy, I could drink it. Or someone other than the person with healing could use it on me. All the same, if she were injured, then the potion could also be used to restore her health, but if I used it now, then our healing both potion and spell would be unavailable. Now that's not to say there are not more potions, but the utility of having multiple throughout the group far outweighs the need for expedience whilst binding a prisoner. In summation, a spell would be more beneficial when used during a brief pause than a potion would."
Ideally, yes we should be leaving Lyrie tied to one of the pillars in the room. Since tying someone up is a CMB thing I think, I would imagine either Scoria or Bel'Tanis would be the best to do so.
Bel'Tanis |
Bel'Tanis nods to Scoria and Notick, his hands falling to his sides as he is shaken from his reverie. "Yes, of course. And... thanks." Looking at Lyrie, a profound sadness washes over the aasimar's face as he kneels down beside her, rope in hand. "Did Nualia turn you into this or-" He lets the question hang in the air for a moment before lashing the woman to a pillar. He is gentle with the bindings, ensuring they are tight and unyielding, but not going so far as to break or bruise her skin. Thinking twice, he also gags her.

Tie Up: If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a –10 penalty. If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.
Scoria the Stalwart |
Before the next room as well...
"...Sergeant." Scoria speaks to Thaddeus after his long winded explanation. She has been trying to correct this problem in his leadership, though it was starting to seem futile. "We are not your students. You do not need to lecture us as such. Midori, please heal the sergeant," She requests, turning her attentions to Bel'Tanis again.
His rope work is rather impeccable from what she could see, looking it over. She wondered if she could get free from such bonds. Perhaps with a little time. "You should test your rope tying on me when we've left this place," She tells Bel'Tanis quietly.
Midori Masaki |
Midori heals Bel'Tanis, then follows Scoria and the others.

Khrondak Iron Forged |
Khrondak stands behind Midori, keeping some distance while he waits for her to disable the trap. "Midori, is it safe yet?", he adds impatiently, tightly gripping the earth hammer in anticipation of their ecounter with the vile Nualia.

Cure Light Wounds (from Midori): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Bel'Tanis nods gratefully and offers Midori a bright smile, "Thanks, Midori. That feels much better now."

Bel'Tanis watches as Midori examines the area, trying to find the best way to make the way safe for the rest of the group to travel. He keeps his shield and scimitar ready, not sure what to expect if Midori inadvertently triggers the trap. "Let's not rush her, Iron Forged. We're close, anyhow. We'll get to Nualia soon enough, and if we can do that without setting traps off in our faces, then that's all the better, right?"

Midori
Midori you begin to disable the the trap in the hallway.
Disable Time: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Carefully working on the trap to disarm it and taking your time, you like you have the trap nearly disarmed, just one more lever and...the trap springs on you. Two portcullises on each side of the clean section slam shut. You attempt to dive back under before you are trapped.
Disable Check failed by 5+
Reflex vs Trap: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Midori you are unable to dive back in time and are trapped between the portcullises.
Scoria the Stalwart |
The monk didn't think that she'd have set the trap off by herself like that. Scoria attempts to assist the others in lifting the portcullis, but she doesn't think that this could be all of the trap.
"Duck into the corner and stay down!" She shouts to Midori. Whatever is about to happen, presenting as small a target as possible is preferable to running around like a chicken with their head cut off.
