Well; you guys are using two fifty foot sections of silk rope sitting in some slime; so I need a rope use check for the knot to hold carrying all this weight; if anyone has it; they can assist or tie the knot; otherwise; will check to see if it holds; makes a difference how you enter the room below.
dc for the knot trained is 13; dc untrained; 18.
you can hear a small waterfall and running water ahead; and something like lapping sounds.
For those who can see in the dark or low light; at the bottom of the tunnel you see about a 10 section of a much bigger toom; there are groves and several rows of very heavy blades sticking up from the floor; they are about 4" high and about 6 feet wide; spaced 1 ft apart; there are 4 blades visible.

Valegrim |

sorry about all the delay guys; tried to post several times during the day yesterday; but kept getting a paizo error and no messageboard; wierd; but happens.
Ok; how far is falco going ahead; just to Thoronhen or farther; maybe hanging from the roof at hte bottom; just need some details there.

Valegrim |

also; no word on the rope use for knot tying; lot of peeps on that rope really pulling on the knot; thought Thoronhen would check in and check it; not sure if anyone has rope use; need a roll for the knot before we can go on as everyone might slide to the bottom and that would change how things are in the next room; so; need the falco and the rope info for either a prequel of what is in the room; or hte sudden entrance.

Namaste |

I'd say Falco will stay, on average, twice his normal movement rate ahead of ThoronHen. That way, if he has to hightail it, he can always double-move back to the nearest protector. If there are lots of twists and turns, he'll stay within sight (or, since he's invisible, where he can keep us in sight) of the frontmost party member, though.
I have no ranks in Rope Use, so it's just the regular ability modifier, versus DC18 untrained. But I got a pretty good roll nonetheless, so I can check the knot to make sure it is staying tight and resecure it if necessary when I get to it. Assuming Thoron tied it pretty good when he passed at the front of the party, I'm in a good position to give it a good look when I pass in the middle of the party, then Llvenoc can give it another once-over at the end.

Falco the Bat |

Falco's Report:
Falco easily flies ahead of the group down the tunnel unimpeaded; and hangs from the ceiling at the bottom of the tunnel
to Namaste:
hmm do not slip and fall mistress; the tunnel ends and there are some sharp blades at the bottom of the track. the Tunnel opens to a cavern; there is water flowing from the South wall into a river; there are many skeletons doing laundry in the river; there are also quite a few soldier type skeletons against the walls and a few archers in a twin short towers near a large tunnel opening near the southern river. There are many baskets and a few large cartss as well; I see nothing of inherent value. Curiously; there is a fairly large discoloration that bisects the room.

Valegrim |

Thornhen, the room is dark; the phosflourencent algae only lights the bottom and goes no further:
This room is not lit; you see at the bottom of the tunnel; some 8 5" high blades that are about 8 ft wide and are spaced about a foot and a half apart; further on you see a few carts that look like come down this tunnel; the rusted blades probably catch on the underside and slow the carts.
At the bottom of the tunnel; there are about 4 empty carts; there are 2 fallen carts full of bath towels; you see 4 skeltons come and pick up one of the very large empty carts and walk away with it; probably to take it to wherever they go to go back up to the bathhouse.
you hear the sound of running water and a fountain of small waterfall sound.
there are lapping and washing of clothes sounds in the distance; but no chatter or talking; this room sounds cavernous.

For anyone who has given their permission to me to mindlink with them, please read Falco's spoiler to me a couple posts above, as I will be relaying his message in his exact words to everyone telepathically. Val, I will calculate the number of power points that will cost once I know how many I am linking to, in case anybody declines to grant permission.

Valegrim |

You have permission; the link with the two new ladies is very strong and clear; the link with Jewel seems strange; like a bit mechanical for lack of better description as if she is guarded and has mental wards up. The link to the two new girls is free; the link to Jewel is half price as she will contribute.

Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |

Kemnebi happily grants permission when asked earlier. In fact he seemed quite excited about finding out how the mindlink worked, and how it relates to 'real' magic! ;P (Give him some time, he'll learn not to be TOO trusting of people he's just met,... eventually.) :I
Startled by the first brush of mental communication from Namaste, Kemnebi silently conjures a small light courtesy of his running Prestidigitation spell. It is a pale, dark blue wisp of glimmer with delusions of becoming a candle someday. The dark blue glow travels no farther than 3 feet at most, and is just dim enough to barely illuminate the faces of those standing close to him. After verifying the contact was initiated by Namaste, and taking a look around at everyone, he dismisses the glow with a silent pinch of his fingers. He then grasps his staff firmly and waits for the mental reply from Thorenhen,...
There is a definite sense of excitement and nervousness leaking through the link from Kemnebi. Though for the moment it seems to be firmly locked behind his otherwise formidable mental disciplines.

Valegrim |

As Namaste is the source of the mindlink; all that communication is processed through her; the thoughts must be directed to communicate; personal thoughs do not come accross the link nor emotions unless the emotion is strong and directed at the other person; use this as a general guideline; this is not telepathy whereas a person has access to all thoughts and memories; though with a mindlink such thing can be used.
what does it feel like. It feels like a whisper; very close and distict as as Namaste is very experienced in this sort of thing; a certain harmony and clarity comes across.

Valegrim |

The girl looks at you a bit shyly and demurely; she has the most pleasent scent when you make deep eye contact; she looks away first; but you can tell she has perked up a bit under her tunic; she blushes and breathes a bit heavy; I am usually called June; but you can call me what you like; nicknames are common so I am told between "special people" {her eyes are slitted like a cat; like yours; even the same color } I am an initiate of the religious mysteries; The High Priest wishes me to see more of heroes and things in the world; that I might learn and become more; he sent me to you as he sees great promis in your youth and exhuberance; as well as your strength as a Magi; often; Magi missuse their power; though I see that you are not one of those. I would like to get to know you more. Take me, as your confidant and we shall discover the secrets of the universe together; I have a question if you dont mind; I saw some of what happened on the street. Do you often team with those who would attack a child; or those who would team up several against one small child; I did not hear you speak against such things, but neither did you act. I value your thoughts; how do you see such things? Oh; time to climb; I am sure a hero of your stature will have no trouble on such a rope; I hope I dont make you look bad; she grabs the rope; has nice muscle tone; seems to brush up you accidentally; wow she smells good; like fresh oven backed cinnamon rolls.
ACK! been busy, not going to try to respond to EVERYthing. Very cool though! Thx to all of Val's 'old-timers' for stopping in and adding depth and flavor to the scene! And for the Buffs!
The final few moments are a blur to Kemnebi. He is aware of accepting and allowing various magics to affect him. But even as his mind is recognizing and cataloging the various effects, and contemplating the various interactions between some of the powerful entities and Lorm, he is hastily ushered thru the green door.
As he waits in line for his turn to begin descending, he looks to the side to find himself standing next to one of the pretty young girls who had appeared and asked permission to accompany the group. She makes no no attempt to hide that fact that she is there to accompany him. He glances at Nebibit with a look of confusion.
But as he looks back to the young lady, he cannot help himself. He gives the girl an appreciative look and a smile and says;
"Hello. I'm called Kemnebi, and you are?"

Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |

Thx Vale, I thought it might be a touch much for a mindlink. No worries, there are SO many other ways for him to express his nervousness! ;)
The girl looks at you a bit shyly and demurely;,... Etc.
Awwwww,... snap! I think I know of a certain teenage/feline mage who just went into testosterone overload! Let's see here,... ;P
Kemnebi blinks at June's initial words. Then seems to grow a little taller himself. His short thick neck fur definitely flexes.
"I think that June is a lovely name." He says when he finally remembers to speak."A perfect match for a perfectly lovely lady." He says with a genuine grin, his white teeth almost shining in the darkness in contrast to his dark fur. While his inquisitive eyes flicker from here to there, taking in and filing details, only the near darkness prevents it from being noticed that his gaze lingers on certain areas of interest a moment longer than others.
---
"Ah, actually, no. I haven't made a habit of associating with anybody, or anything, other than my books usually." He replies, enjoying the view of her attractive slit-irised eyes. "To be honest the whole thing came as a bit of a shock, I thought I was ready for anything, but when Llivenoc jumped out into the street, and then others said to stay out of it, but others jumped into it,... I had half a dozen spells on the tip of my tongue, but before I could find a clear spot to use one, well, you saw. Next thing I know we're all hip-deep in undead! Not to mention myths and legends!"
---
"The High Priest must have more faith in me than I thought. If he sent you to accompany me, then he must expect that I can protect you. Sometimes I think I see a glimmer of what they say they see in me, but I,... well, we'll see." He says with a depreciating smirk. "Just remember, In truth I'm fairly new at this. I hope I don't disappoint you." He says with mock solemnity, one gloved hand over his heart but a twinkle of laughter in his eye.
---
"Yes, be careful descending. Just stay close, I'll help you." He whispers as they begin the descent. A waft of heavenly aroma that is the Lady June fills his sense of smell as they take their turn in line at the rope. A swift growl from Nebibit snaps his attention back to the present, though the 'accidental' contact from June threatens to distract him again.
---
'There IS a god!' The feline mage purrs happily to himself as he begins to climb.
At least now we know what caused those two low climbing rolls. He was,... distracted. ;)

Balance stat+5 cats grace +2 moral bonus +4=11 +rolls 15,19,17,11,3 totals 26,30,28,22,14. Astinos is 30' behind me not 15'. I let Namaste tie the rope as it looks like she is more apt at it. Yes I had allowed the mindlink. One question Val who caught Kormtha's gift or did that even happen. ok now that I have caught up through the mindlink to everyone; There are some skeletons down here but they dont seem to have noticed me or anyone else. Of our priestly types can you destroy them or just have them run away. If you can destroy that might be the easyest and quietest way of dealing with them. The room is large beyond what i can see with the little illumination down here.

Valegrim |

Thoronhen; I have you at this time at the edge peering out the tunnel; there are several carts close by that you can hide behind if you choose; everyone else is hanging on the rope and bracing as they can in the tunnel; please give me the groups exit strategy
from the tunnel.

With the knowledge that the enemy is just around the corner. A palatable hatred wells up inside me. Frustration leaks through the mind link. Wondering what is taking everyone so long to act. KILL THEM, screams out in my heart and in my thoughts. Why are we not moving? Why have we not moved to attack? Crush there bones til they are dust! Frustration that I am in the back of the party. Unable to act. Anger as the Dwarven Priest seals us in with a wall of ice. Succeed or be entombed...

Namaste; please relate Falco's message to you to the party in your own words if you wish them to know his information.
Okay. The total cost will be 5 points to link up everyone (since I haven't used my once-daily psi-like ability yet today, the first person will be free - so ThoronHen is free, Astinos, Llvenoc, Kemnebi and Grymbol are one point each, Jewel is 1/2 point [rounded up to 1, I guess] and the calendar girls are free, for a total of 4.5 or 5 points).
"Falco tells me that at the bottom of this tunnel, there are some sharp blades where the room opens into a cavern, so watch your footing there. There is also a stream of water flowing from the southern wall to a river, in which several skeletons appear to be washing laundry. He said there are several skeleton footsoldiers and some archers on a pair of small towers place at a tunnel entrance near where the water emerges from the south wall. Several carts and baskets. He said there is also a large discoloration that bisects the room, but was unsure of its cause or nature. As it seemed unwise to place his vision over mine whilst we are descending such a treacherous slope, I did not peer through his eyes, so for now you will have to take that description as you will. When we are safely to the bottom of the tunnel and our footing more sure, I will open my eyes through his and see how many we face."
Val, in which wall of the cavern does our tunnel open? Through Falco's eyes, how many enemies can I see? About how large is this cavern? And how far are we from those archers?

I hide behind one of the carts. Hide 25=6+19(9 ranks + 4 stats + 2 cats grace + 4 moral bonus)remember that no special scenes work because of my darkstalker feat and they have to use the worst of spot or listen to detect me. I motion for every one to come down the tunnel but to stay at the tunnel entrance. there should be enough room for every one but Llvenoc in front but they should be able to brace him so he does not fall. through mindlink... OK well can you Grymbol make one or 2 of us undetectable to the undead so that the rest of us can ride in one of these carts through to the other side and possibly out of the cavern. providing that there is a clear exit. When one of you that can see further in this dim light tell us a little more about the whole area and what might be this area in the middle of the room that Namaste describes.

Valegrim |

your tunnel is about he 3/4 down the east wall near the se corner.
the cavern is very large; your about 180 ft from the archers; about 75 ft from the closest group of skel warrior on the east wall; the cavern is about 100 ft wide; other group is on the opposite wall so a bit farther. The water somes in from up the Northern wall and fills into a bricked cannal that flows along the east wall about half its length then stops; where the drain is you do not know.
the other obvious exit is between the two archer towers going into the North wall.
there are 15 warriors in each group; you cannot tell how many archers; maybe 10; there are about 20 laborers washing clothes and carrying baskets. There is something like dumb water where the cannal stops on the east wall; there are several racks with drying towels; most of the towels are very worn and ripped; but their condition doesnt seem to matter. They all seem oblivious to the group.
the dark discoloration is bisecting the room; at about the middle which is about 30 ft north of where you will enter the room.

Valegrim |

ok; I take it everyone comes out of the tunnel; what is everyones action; I presume you are all hiding behind the carts; though there is a pretty big group of you and only a few carts; the party will fit into three carts.
Gymble; how long does your spell last?
It will take two to move a cart empty; 4 makes it easier and faster depending on strength of pushers to move one full cart. 3 maybe four will fit into a cart.
The carts are on skids; the floor of this cavern is sand.
The carts look like they have catches on them to catch the metal blades and slow and stop them from the roller chute.
Jewel in mind link; very clear and neutral, but still a bit saucey. I can levitate the cart I am in so it doesnt drag as much; so perhaps we can load it more; perhaps cover it with towels; Perhaps Llevnoc can levitate one as well; as is the natural ability of trueborn royal Drow.
she looks at Llevnoc with a raised eyebrow...

Namaste |

Are there any cart tracks across the sand that might indicate that these carts still see regular use, such as for delivering laundry? And if so, do they track to multiple entrances, or just one?
"I'm afraid that if any of the skeletons are intelligent, then it may tip them off if the carts are moving in a manner or direction that is out of the ordinary. On the other hand, if they do see regular use as laundry carts, then we might be able to all hide in them and let the skeleton laborers push us with their laundry to wherever it is going. I'm betting that they are probably not intelligent enough to notice the weight difference, but the warriors or archers might be. We could use some of those towels to cover ourselves."

Namaste |

Will keep it in mind; it will probably choose someone sooner or later; I thought someone had a pet other than the familiar? hmm.
That's why I didn't pick it up. Since she said it was one of her "children," I assumed it was some living thing, and fearing that it might bond with whoever picked it up, for the sake of party balance should probably go to someone who does not already have the benefit of a familiar or animal companion.

She never said that it was one of her children but in the spoiler to Val something was mentionded about children. But in any case you where kind of preoccupied.

Valegrim |

No; your estimation would be that the carts are unloaded here and somehow the carts are returned to the top to be reloaded. There are no tracks of skid marks or anything in the sand to give the idea that the carts move from here.
with tracking and someone looking ;you would get more info on this; but that would certainly expose someone.

Sure if he accepts; keep in mind your casting a spell at it might be noticed as a magic burst of divine magic. just saying its a possiblilty that might occur to you as fey are hyper sensitive to magic.
Val, the spell lasts 30 minutes at my lvl. I will ask Llvonoc through the mindlink whether he will allow my lady's power to heal him some more. If he accepts, I will cast cure light wounds for 9 hp's.

Valegrim |

No one other than Namaste would have any reason to suspect it is anything other than a box with a gift inside and no reason to believe it is a creature rather than an item; you just dont know; that is the fun part.

Replying in the mindlink. Unfortunately I can not levitate at this time. As for the heal I accept. So are we moving forward? I thought we came here to do something other than hide in a tunnel. How much time do you think those Hero's above will give us before the enemy will be back on our heels?
You said the floor is divided by two colors. Perhaps it is divided by there duties. This side you wash towels. Cross to the other side and these guys will attack. So we walk on the towel washers side. If they attack I am sure we can handle a skeleton armed with a bath towel. Its clear the irritation in my tone is growing.

Llvenoc |

Through mindlink" It appears that Llvenoc has found both his fire and his fortitude. He is right thogh. It is time to move. Render me invisible, since I am the most likely to draw their attention. If something goes wrong I will strike."
Replying through the mindlink. Well I figured it would be more prudent that the invisibility would be cast on others Astinos. Considering we do have several women in our company. Or even Kemnebi since he is not armored or trained as you. Exspecially since there is a "Doom" upon him.
As far as my fire and my fortitude. Its not in question. I have kept every promise I have bothered to make. Regardless of consequence.
Since I am stuck behind you all. You can either lead, or get the bleep out of my way.
