One by one, respondents to the advertisements placed throughout Magnimar, arrive at Brinewall; seven in total, the lot of you are greeted in similar fashions by a tiny, butterfly-winged azata, who introduces herself as Spivey, Priestess of Desna:
"Greetings traveler, and welcome to Brinewall Castle! As you can see, we're still under a bit of remodeling; please, park your belongings in the courtyard, there is still a bit to do before you depart."
A number of craftsmen and porters, trains of wagons and occasional Teleports of decorations swarm about the castle, which is in remarkable shape, given the ruins of the city still surrounding it, and the encroaching swamp yet to be pushed away from the rear. Occasionally, a strange, hobbling, four-armed creature, clad in robes, can be seen plodding to a location with a number of minions in tow, perform some sort of arcane ritual, and then shuffle back into the keep-proper.
A week passes still after the last of you arrive, giving the newly formed adventuring company time to introduce themselves and prepare for an extended period together. Finally, Spivey appears before you over lunch, and guides you around the side of the castle, where a host of wagons, beasts of burden, and materials of all sorts rests. Three heavily-armored wagons sit in an arc in front of it all, and within the middle vehicle, its side propped open merchant-style, stands the strange caster.
Even more unusual in appearance up-close, the creature's highly-pointed ears and almond shaped eye sockets hint at an Elvish ancestry, but the black eyes which bulge far too much from those sockets, and a warty, wet green pallor to his skin suggest otherwise. His far-too-large mouth and sagging loose neck skin further reinforce the image of a frog, so it comes as little surprise when he croaks as he speaks.
"Welcome tra-<croak>-velers. I am Valence <croak> Niels d'Geiger. Speak-<croak>-ing is difficult for me."
His damp eyes gloss over even further, and you begin to hear his voice echo in your minds.
You are here at my request. We are to escort the Lady Ameiko Kaijitsu and company north to Karlsgard in the Land of the Linnorm Kings; it is extremely likely that our journey will cross entirely into Tian Xia, and I felt it wise to have a capable band in such an event.
Those of you who brought along horses; I will be taking those off of your hands, as we will be using aurochs to pull our train. This is not negotiable, but I promise a fair price. Those of you without wagons...
Valence glares at those among the party he considers negligent; his robes shuffle, and he pulls forth a scroll with a third, disjointed arm, unrolling it on the makeshift table created by the wagon's opening.
The Lady Kaijitsu has allotted 2,000 GP for the purchase of a wagon, supplies, and sundries to each of you. The journey to Karlsgard will take twenty-two days; plan accordingly.

First, if your animal is crucial to your story, it's fine to stay, but it won't be pulling a wagon. We will only be using aurochs for that, because...
Combat in a caravan will not occur via the Caravan Rules as presented by Paizo; instead, it will be treated as combat. Wagons are objects with their own AC (Base 9, modified by a driver), HP and Hardness. The animals pulling a wagon are, for simplicity, included in this, with the exception of animal trains, which have the noted stats above, and an additional Train Mechanic.
Train Mechanic
Wagons or animals joined together gain an additional point of weakness where the two independent blocks connect, as shown:|.....|--X--|.....|
Point --X-- has an AC of 25, Hardness of 20, and 25 HP. If this gains the broken condition, the speed of the connected wagons must half, or the link separates and any gained benefit is lost.
Aurochs trains are standard additions, but any two wagons can be linked together in such a fashion, doubling the number of required beasts of burden (from 2 to 4) but requiring only a single driver.
If your wagon gains the Broken condition (at half HP), its speed is also reduced by half. Further damage renders it inoperable, but it can still be repaired as normal until reduced to 1/10th HP, at which point it is totally destroyed.
Use Discussion to share the wealth and equip yourselves properly. You Will Fight Big Monsters. The next chance you will have to make changes to your caravan is in Karlsgard.
GM Says: Everyone make a Diplomacy check with Valence, and if you have any buffs, use 'em; his initial attitude towards you sets his prices for the future, and changes thereof likewise reflect.
Time for the intros! Make them count.

Grial Storm Shadow |

The stocky half-orc archer found himself directly in front of the frog-man. It wasn't purposeful. The half-orc just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
He was a calm, unflappable island amid the chaos that was the Brinewall Castle courtyard. He was pale for a half-orc, with skin more of a pale grey than green. He wore leathers and furs decorated with ulfen runes. A braided torque sat around his neck holding his cloak in place. On his shoulder was a pauldron made from the skull of a large dragon-like creature. His bow had a matching skull over the hand grip.
"Aurochs. Good. Horses do not do so well in the northlands." the half-orc in the Ulfen clothing rumbled to Valence. "I am Grial. You will need a guide near Karlsgard. I am it."
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 4 Oh, that's just great.

You have no room for supplies. Please see the wagon stat blocks in the Jade Regent Player's Guide for the amount of passenger/cargo space each wagon has.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

'Lo's morning was a slow and lovely one, as it always was. But today, she was well aware, was the day that she would adventure. A long travel, from one end of golarion to another, something so beauteous and interesting, like her father did!
She spent her morning the usual way, with some extra extravagance. She donned her traveler's outfit- A simple Emerald dress with white gloves, with a lovely blue bonnet. She had spent the last two days in this place, and she had purchased some fashionable accessories from the area, some Draconic Perfume, and some Crystal Sweet Concoctions. She felt her mind, usually racing, dull slightly, but a good first impression with a gentleman was of the utmost importance.
The young Azata guided her to the man, whose appearance was absolutely dreadful, were he a man. But he was a gipli, and for one, she had to remark he seemed a little bit dashing, with a spark of intelligence in his eyes that surprised her.
"Ah, it is a wonder meeting you, Mr Niels d'Geiger, I am Loreli Munte, daughter of Ms Lilac Munte, adopted daughter of Mr Munte, my escort here is known as Jereld. It's truly a wonder to meet you, sir, and I am thankful for allowing me to partake in this adventure, it means a lot to both me and my family."

+4 ranks, +3 class skill, +5 Int, +4 vs Humanoids (+2 if not), +2 through Fashionable Accessories, +2 with Draconic Perfume, and +2 from the concoction, +1d6 free inspiration. Might be much, but if this sets the tone for her correspondances, then she wants to set it high.

Lulubelle Breitling |

Lulubelle had arrived in Brinewall almost a week ago, excited to get started on the journey. Meeting Spivey for the first time, she had nearly reached for her butterfly net before the azata introduced herself. Arriving early didn’t mean departing early, Lulu found out, but that was okay. It gave her almost a whole week to get really, really excited, and build up plenty of energy and enthusiasm! She had spent much of her free time wandering wherever she was allowed to go, asking lots of questions, and trying to find out who the four-armed person was. ”Hello, hi! Hi! Hello?” she’d call, trying to catch their attention. Adding ”...Nice meeting you!” after they disappeared back into the keep.
When the day to join the caravan finally arrived, and Spivey came to fetch her, Lulubelle was practically bouncing instead of walking with penned up energy and excitement. She followed along as fast as she could, which was not very fast, really. Pumpernickel kept up easily, while Bitterbeak sat on her shoulder, wings aflutter and screeching at the sudden movement. Rounding the corner, Lulubelle realized they’d be meeting someone important! She paused a moment to cast a simple Enhance Diplomacy, hoping to make a good first impression.
Seeing the frog-elf guy was exciting. She was pretty sure she had never met anyone like him before! His speech was odd, but then he used telepathy. ”New brain-friend!” She said with an excited gasp, then clapped her hand over her mouth. ’But I can see this one! I can see him!’ She thought, trying very hard not to blurt that out, too. ’Wait, can new brain-friend hear this too..? Cats. Cats. Cats. Puppies. Kittens. Cats. See, I’m normal!’
”Nice to meet you, Mister d’Geiger,” she said, forcing some patience and calm into her voice. ”I brought a wagon, and yaks! But I’ll get some aurochs instead.” She added. Her eyes went wide when Valence produced the scroll, with a third arm from under his robe. ’I want three arms!!’ she thought. ’But I wouldn’t want it getting lonely when I clap, so it’s probably just as well…’ Almost as an afterthought, Lulu wracked her brain trying to figure out what this odd shopkeep might actually be.

Chalkou |

Chalkou had arrived several days before. Socializing had never been his best skill, but he tried. He realized that he probably frightened people as much as anything. His massive figure, near seven feet of heavily-muscled half-orc, covered head to toe in spiked steel lamellar armor could be intimidating. Or so he'd been told. It was helpful when guarding a client's warehouse. When trying to make allies...not so much. Gathering with the others, Chalkou watches the strange being warily. This wariness turns to alarm as it begins to speak within his head. Witch! he thinks, eyes narrowing, his hand tightening into fists. Then he processes the being's words. Here at his request... So this being is our employer. So be it. Good thing I cleaned the armor back in Magnimar. He doesn't seem the sort to appreciate bloodstains. the half-orc frowns at the man's proclamation about selling horses, but so be it. A fair price is a fair price. Lining up behind the pale half-orc archer, he takes stock of the inventory, but is a little bewildered. Logistics had never been his specialty, so he tries to listen carefully to the other man's choices. They sound sensible enough, so when it's Chalkou's turn, he merely gestures to the departing half-orc and says "I'll have what he's having."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Kazrek Norn |

Kazrek Norn wasn't too happy. Not an uncommon feeling. Just because he was on some kind of divine mission for his goddess didn't mean he had to be happy about it. And he definitely wasn't. Usually her missions involved long, boring wagon rides and woefully little by way of interesting events, like fighting or killing. The most frustrating thing was that he didn't even know what the mission was. It was always this way. "When you see the white mouse, follow the sign." At least, he was pretty sure that's what she said. He spent a long time after that far too drunk to remember clearly. But then the first mouse came and if she could give back his life, she could take it away again. So he followed.
He'd been very diligent thus far, which went way against his nature. Surely he deserved something interesting this time.
Kazrek had spent most of the two week journey from Magnimar to Brinewall brooding. He used to enjoy this stuff, but a dwarf can take only so much of the same thing before it gets tiresome. When he came through the ruins and caught sight of the castle, his expression changed, however. The dwarf cast a sheepish look toward the sky as if toward a scolding parent. It was a strange expression on the dwarf's face, but it was thankfully brief.
And so, Kazrek Norn was somewhat optimistic as he approached the castle in his wagon with his horses, Tomi and Martin. An expression that couldn't last as when he saw the strange frogman, it turned quickly to... uncertainty? Goddess, what did ya get me into? This wasn't the first time he had asked that question.
"Wat... are ya talkin in my head? And what do ya want Tomi an' Martin for? They're tougher than ya think!"

Exactly 2000 gp of value, but, if it's acceptable, I'd like to fluff it as supplies that they came with previously.
Jerald, having been 'Lo's manservant since she was a child, was not looking forward to the travel. But he was well aware that he owed the debt to his family. That does not mean he won't charge them immensely.
Nonetheless, he escorted his ward, her arm in his hand. He informs her that he will bring the carriage, and she acknowledges it, as she continues conversation with her fellows.
He returns with a 3-Part wagon, two supply wagons with one empty, and her reinforced home, mundanely designed, but fitted with a lavatory, Bath, and full bedroom, all set to provide at least some of the creature comforts on the road.

Phaender Fuzzankle |

Phaender had arrived at Brinwall several days ago. He was a strange sight. He looked like a Gnome but both his skin and his hair where the color of white ashes. The white and grey tones of his clothing only made him stand out more. His behaviour was also very much unlike other Gnomes. He was quiet and reserved and tended to avoid others when he could.
Wherever he went he was either flanked by two ruddy brown bears or he rode one bear while the other walked alongside them. One of the bears was quite a bit larger than the other and it seemed protective of the smaller bear, suggesting they were mother and cub.
The three of them would sleep outside in the castle's courtyard, caring more about shelter from wind and rain than an actual roof. They were generally very unobtrusive and the only sound coming from their direction, other than the bears' nightly snoring, was the playing of a mandolin.
---------
When they were called before the weird frog-elf and told about what was coming Phaender just nodded. He waited while the others made their purchases, casting a simple spell on himself to help his negotiating.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

'Lo, smiled as the final members of the caravan arrived, "It's a pleasure to speak to each of you. I understand that my position on this caravan is rather flexible, and as such, I will do my best to perform every duty that is required of us. However, I imagine the first duty is to prepare each of you with tonics to aid in any encounter that might occur during the evening."
She, with a movement that was as openly powerful as it was dainty, passed each of the party members a vial, containing an elixir that glowed with a similar hue to their dress.
"Each of this contains an infusion of magic, suited to areas which you will derive the most assistance." she said with the practiced voice of a hostess, or someone with practice, "One hour past dawn, I will distribute further extracts, or, should I be in something of a state, will have Jerald distribute them for me."
She turns to her current patron, an elegent, warm yet slightly practiced smile upon her face, "And for our esteemed patron, an elixir of Polypurpose Panacea, something that they might find enjoyable, as thanks."

After taking stock of the others' choices, Chalkou returns to the frog-man, and purchases another wagon, fitted out with a ballista. Then, when the others next gather, he asks about a driver. "Seems to me we might need weapons bigger than bows, so I went back to our host and ordered a spare wagon, to mount a ballista. But I ain't got the arms to drive and shoot. Anyone care to hitch my wagons to theirs so I can man the ballista? Actually, if there's someone here that's shot ballistas before, the best thing might be that I stay free to attack anyone that tries to close." he says, brandishing his bardiche.

Kazrek Norn |

The dwarf stands by scowling as the others complete their transactions.
A long, boring caravan over the coldest part o' the world and I don't even get ta keep Tomi an' Martin? Goddess, what did I do ta deserve this? I been good, I swear! On the last caravan I didn't even call that fat man fat! An' everyone else was! I was downright nice ta him! Though other an' bein' lazy, he wasn't so bad. Well, maybe that's a bad example then. Remember three months ago, there was that one caravan...
Kazrek is broken out of his impromptu 'prayer' by the half-orc proffering him a vial. "Ack, no ya don't! You're not gettin' me that easy! I don't know what you're gettin' at, but I been round long enough ta know that nothin's free! You can keep your vials ta yourself!"
The dwarf gives 'Lo a sly smile like he caught her at some clever trick.
When Chalkou finishes his purchase and approaches the group, Kazrek has to stare almost vertical to still be completely unable to see his face. "I don't know if ya can hear me all the way up there, but I'm feelin' like it wouldn't be a bad idea to team up with someone big as you. I'll pull your wagon for ya. I can't shoot a balista though. Maybe we should take on a third wagon an' find a shooter?"
The dwarf strains back a little to try to catch a glimpse inside the large man's helm, an awkward pose that surprisingly doesn't put him on his back somehow.
Kazrek really does want that potion but he wouldn't accept it automatically. If you reassure him he doesn't owe you anything for it, he'll accept it. Otherwise, he'll eventually feel guilty and grudgingly 'apologize' and ask for it. I'm completely fine with either option.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

'Lo, faced with such utter impoliteness, had a flabbergasted and insulted look on her face for a second, before she gave him a warm smile.
"My dear, you think to low of me!" she said, a laugh in her voice. "You see, the only cost is for you to help the caravan! Something I imagine you're going to be doing anyway."
She curtsies, "Loreli, daughter of Johnathan Munte, Diplomat, Lady, Mage, and alchemist. Should you feel like a lady of such high standing would think to rob you such, you don't need to take it, but I would recommend it."
She looks to the looming, looming half-orc besides her, and passes him an infusion. "Should you require another wagon, I already possess a third- Take it, consider it a sign of respect."
She looks over to her manservant, "Jerald! Tell Mr Neils to cancel a wagon, and hitch the third supply wagon to this sir's."
She returns her eye to the looming figure, "As for hitching, I feel like more than two folks to a wagon would be crowded and too easy of a target- Should you lie on the frontline, I feel like someone more suited to the back should mount the crossbow. Perhaps myself, perhaps the halfling, or perhaps the archer and Gnome."
She turns her gaze to Kazrak, "Perhaps we should combine our wagons? Who knows, I might be able to teach you some civility."

Lulubelle Breitling |

Lulubelle smiled brightly as she received the gifted extract. ”Thank you sooo much!” She gushed, but her smile melted away as quickly as it came. ”But...I didn’t get you anything. Oh! Wait right here!” She padded off at a run, heading back to where her own wagon had been parked; Bitterbeak squaking angrily, while Pumpernickel followed hot on her heels.
Some time later she returned, panting, with hands clasped and something green squirming from between her fingers. Lulu opened her hand and carefully held out a slimy toad with brightly colored markings. ”Here, you can have him! He’s a present,” she said, holding the toad out to Loreli. ”He’s a boy toad, and I didn’t name him yet so you can call him whatever you want. I could give you a girl toad, but I’m trying to breed them… Anyway, they’re called vision toads! You lick ‘em and you see things! After playing with him you should probably wash your hands before you eat anything.”
With that taken care of, Lulu realized she should probably join the conversation about wagon stuff. She stood on tiptoes and craned her neck to see the bigger half-orc guy. ”I dunno…” she ho-hummed. ”I wouldn’t wanna link more than two carts at a time. Well, maybe four carts are okay, but not three! The ones in the middle might get lonely, since they can’t see any of the animals. At least with four wagons the middle two can be friends.”

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

'Lo looked at the toad with a look of thanks.
Bluff to show gratitude: 1d20 + 16 - 5 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 16 - 5 + 5 = 29(-5 for unlikely, +5 for what she wants to hear)
"Why, thank you, but I don't need such pleasentries- It is, after all, why I am here. I'd love to keep him, but I don't think I have anywhere to put it! How about you keep it for me- after all, you have the housing!"
She returns the toad to the halfling's hands, and pulls out a hankerchief to wipe off her hands before continuing her distribution.
When joined by Lulu she provides a moment of pause, before commenting "Perhaps Lulu might take the Balista? Despite her small stature, I imagine she has a keen eye and hand."
Bluff for secret messages: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
I'd much prefer if I didn't have to deal with her pets near my cart, nor with her. Perhaps you might quell her... Peculiar personality quirks.
Apologies for her rudeness and prudishness, but she's kinda unsettling to a lawful, lady-like lady. I'm trying to think of a way to get her to like Lulu.

Phaender Fuzzankle |

As the discussion turned to wagons and he heard the mention of the word "Gnome" Phaender speaks up for the first time since his arrival, "I'm as much a gnome as you are human, so half at most. If you'd ask a gnome they'd say I'm either an abomination or a hero. Probably the former." His voice was odd, completely devoid of any emotion.
He accepted the vial and stowed it away without even a second look at it's contents or asking what it was.
"As for the wagons. I can drive. Personally I'd prefer to ride either Dorffurd or Maei but those broken aurochs lack the initiative to move of their own accord." As he speaks the two bears stand behind him, the youngest of the two prodding Phaneder gently with it's snout when his name is mentioned.

Lulubelle Breitling |

”Oh...ok.” Lulubelle said, when Loreli semi-rejected the gift. She guessed it made sense though -- not everyone liked taking care of pets. ”Well, you can come visit him an’ play with him whenever you want. I’ll name him Eli! You know, for Loreli? I’m sure he’ll be happy with the other toads.”
When the conversation moved to the ballista, Lulu gasped excitedly. ”I wanna fire the ballista!” She said, when Loreli suggested her for the job. ”THWAP, dead bandit! THWAP, dead bandit! THWAP!! Crankitty-crankitty-crank THWAP, dead ogre bandit!” Her excitement drained away a moment later. ”But I probably shouldn’t use the ballista.” She sullenly kicked a rock. ”I’m way better at scouting and finding extra food and stuff, and finding the bandits before they ambush us.”
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
To see if Lulu picked up on the secret message; since I'm assuming the message wasn't intended for her.
Edit, missed it by a mile. :P

Kazrek Norn |

Kazrek gives 'Lo a confused look as he accepts the vial back, with a slight scowl. "Er... I knew that." The dwarf scrutinizes the vial for a moment before stowing it away.
Civility? Is that what this is about, Goddess? The dwarf sighs before looking back up to 'Lo and grumbling, "Thanks..."
After the secret message.
The dwarf, still grumbling to himself somewhat, frowns at the secret message and looks down at Lulubelle with both eyebrows raised. "You're an excitable little one aren't ya?" Kazrek crouches down to her eye-level, glancing up over to Loreli before continuing to Lulu. "Couldn't you scout an hunt an all that, but if we get into trouble, then come back and shoot the ballista?"
Not sure if this should be a bluff. Kazrek has no idea what he's doing, really. He's just faking it... pretty well I guess.
Bluff?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Grial Storm Shadow |

Grial watched his new companions, baffled and already feeling his patience waning. He could endure a blizzard, but he wasn't sure if he could endure this. Perhaps it was a new kind of trial to be faced and learned from? Or perhaps it was simply chaos. Not everything had to have purpose.
"When do we leave?" he rumbled to no one in particular.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

'Lo nodded, "Then how does this seem- I link up Mr. Norn, Chalkou links wtih Ms. Breitling, and the two tall, and Mr Funzzankle will mount his cart with Grial."
She sighs, "And, as much as I enjoy our chatter, we really must leave soon- After all, there is only so much daylight."
Apologies if I've delayed our exit, was just very useful to figure 'Lo out.

Kazrek Norn |

No time to post but Kazrek is fine with that plan and ready to go as well!

Lulubelle Breitling |

Lulubelle beamed at Kazrek's suggestion. "That's a terrific idea!" She said. "I can scout n' stuff, and if I see bandits I can come right back and tell everyone and get to the ballista and shoot bandits!! This is the best caravan I've ever been in."

Valence's vocal sac dangling from beneath his chin twitched, swelled, and expanded in an honest croak as the large Half-Orc Grial finished his introduction; the observers might note this constituted a laugh from the creature.
We shall see who guides whom; had you brought a wagon, I might be more inclined to believe you.
The creature smiled at Loreli as she stepped to him, though he did frown a bit during her internal monologue, and his glossy eyes wandered over her clothing, deepening his frown.
Well met, Lady, though it would behoove you most to not make unfair assumptions of my parentage. I can assure you, I am no frog.
The croak-laugh resumed in force as Lulubelle wandered up; the excitable Halfling's broadcasted thoughts, as loud as true speech, amused Valence, and he brought forth both of his extra arms, clapping twice to demonstrate the companionship for his limb. He rushed her along, however, as soon as she was complete.
(Valence is an Elf, probably a Half-Elf. Local would be the correct Know. skill for that. However, Nature tells you he's been mutated (as the Template) and so is considered an Aberration; you also notice gills, but since he's breathing normally, you can tell that he must also be Amphibious. Know. Arcana would tell you the method of mutation.)
Valence did naught but nod at the even larger Half-Orc Chalkou.
As the Dwarf approached, Valence nodded. Indeed, it is known as Telepathy. And your horses would not survive the journey across the Crown pulling the train; if you wish to take them with you, that is, of course, your business, but you will still purchase my animals. What becomes of the horses should you sell them is no longer your concern, as they become mine. Most likely they will be sold elsewhere.
Valence assisted the Gnome and his bears; the rest of the party had begun to converse among themselves, and Valence slipped shut the window to his wagon. Within a few moments, he hobbled out, aided by a staff, and waved his hand in the air.
Do not be too hasty. You have yet to prove your worth!
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
The party finds themselves in a clearing near a stream. Surrounding them on all sides are steep cairns, atop which stands Valence and a number of creatures; several homunculi, a winged, self-propelling helmet, a strange, flying ball with limbs, and a large, arachnid-like construct composed almost entirely of blades. Between each cairn rests a swathe of rubble, making escape (and the terrain) difficult.
Arcane syllables fly from the mouths of the ball creature and one homunculus, as they whip around wands and spawn two feathered dinosaurs in the middle of the party!

Lulubelle Breitling |

Lulubelle gasped as Valence whisked them away to a clearing. So many interesting creatures surrounded them! She didn’t know what to expect, until two dinosaurs appeared and attacked… ”No fair!” She protested. She opened her hand and let the toad inside go. ”Eli is off limits!” She quickly reached into her satchel and withdrew a halfling-sized longbow, while she clicked her tongue twice, and pointed at the beast attacking the nearby Grial.
Draw bow as move action and use her standard as a move to draw her quiver of durable arrows.

Pumpernickel the Wonder Weasel |

Pumpernickel perked up his ears at Lulu’s command. The weasel loosed a terse, high-pitched growl not unlike a very small dog’s. He was quick to pounce the nearest foe.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

Loreli, after her conversations, looks at the Half-Elf in surprise at his proclaiming his heritage, "Oh, my sincerest apologies, I tend to jump to conclusions. Useful when suitors want you dead and when you mostly deal with humans, not as much for other such folk.

Loreli had barely turned to the half-elf before realising that her shoes were now in dirt and mud, with barely a moment's pause before she was in the midst.
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 12 + (4) = 27
She begins to describe what the creatures are precisely, granting a +1 competence (?) bonus to AC and saving throws vs the summons, taking a 5 foot step closer to Kazrek.
"STEP BACK!" she calls to Grial. Once Grial takes a 5 foot step or moves away from the creature, she casts Create Pit right under the summoned creature, dropping into the pit with a DC 17 reflex save.

Grial Storm Shadow |

Grial was shocked and confused. First this frog-elf advertised for help. Then he asked people he was hiring to purchase their own equipment. Then he indicated he did not need a guide. Then he teleported the entire group to an unknown location full of strange creatures.
And now he was summoning monsters to attack them.
The frog-elf was clearly insane, and possibly outright evil, but Grial had to deal with the immediate threat first. He took a step back, drew his bow and shot the dinosaur.

Chalkou |

The big half-orc is momentarily dioriented by the teleportation, then the mage's words register. Prove my worth indeed. Very well then.
Roaring in pain and anger as the beast strikes, Chalkou takes stock of his options. Too close for his bardiche, he lashes out with a spiked elbow, then tries to take a chunk out of the creature with his tusks.

By the way, that should be only 8 damage, I have DR 2/-. Also,
I don't seem to be able to move my icon. Someone move me 1 square toward Phaender.

Kazrek Norn |

"?Ack! You beardless freak! What you attacking us for?!" Kazrek pulls up one sleeve, revealing a silver rose strapped to his wrist and chants a quick prayer. The effect isn't overt, but the dwarf looks a little bit shinier, in general. He pulls out a pair of axes as he begins to move, calling out to Valence as he does. "When I get done killin' your birds, you're gonna have some things ta explain."
Goddess, I take it back. Give me boring again.
Standard Action: Cast Divine Favor. Move Action: Move into a flank with Chalkou's new position while drawing both axes.

Phaender Fuzzankle |

"Tell me again. Why are you doing this?" Only the sigh that followed his monotonous voice betrayed Phaender's annoyance.
He then turned towards his bear, "Dorffurd, be a dear and help our weasily friend over there." Once the bear starts making his way over to the dinosaur Phaender pulls out his mandolin and starts to play. Those hearing it can almost feel the music resonate within their body as they feel their senses somehow becomes more aware.
The moment the music starts Dorffurd's step starts to sway a bit, as if the bear dances over to his mark. Once there he does his best to sink his teeth into the dinosaur.

Knowledge Rolls: You learn nothing more of Valence's origins, save that the cause of his mutation was a potent ritual designed to enhance the caster's ancestral heritage; you can only guess, based on the results, what that heritage might have been, but whatever the case, it seems fairly likely that it didn't work as intended.
The giant weasel Pumpernickle charges from Lulu's side, sinking teeth into the belly of one of the deinonychus's; the impact forces them both to the ground, just as the ground beneath them gives out into a sudden pit!
Grial steps back at Loreli's call, taking precise aim with his bow; not even the distraction of sudden movement can deny his shot, as the arrow meets its mark directly in the chest of the dinosaur. Lulu stumbles a bit as the pit begins to form, but manages to keep her footing.
The creature wails in pain as it tumbles to the ground. As he fell, Pumpernickle lets loose of the dino, scrambling at the sides of the pit. The crunch of bones signals the harsh landing of the saurian, and a short yip followed by chirps of delight let Dorfford, who manages to skid to a stop right as the pit sloped downward, as well as the rest of the party know that the beast in the pit had been summarily squashed.
Chalkou, shrugging off some of the attack from the remaining creature, lashes out with shoulder and face, managing to score a gouge from its body with his ferocious tusks. The dino rebuts with several strikes of her own, vital hits allowing 20 points of damage through the Half-Orc's defenses.
The metal spider-creature has stood tall, and adopted a menacing posture.
GM Says: You're Up!

Lulubelle Breitling |

”Pumpernickel!!” Lulubelle cried out, as her best friend scrambled at the walls of the pit. She saw the other dino tearing into Chalkou, and the spider-knife-beast rear up. She worried that the spider was about to join the battle -- or summon something else to harry them. She stepped away, and recited a terse prayer to whatever spirits and things-between would answer.
Casting Cure Moderate wounds, designating Bitterbeak as the toucher.

Bitterbeak |

”Waak!! Hateyou! Hateyou!” Bitterbeak shrieked, as he was called on to act. He lifted off her shoulder carrying her spell to the spiky-metal manbeast as directed, careful to use his aerial agility to avoid the reach of the enemies around them. He didn’t dare land on the spiky target, but stretched his neck to unnatural length to set a hasty peck somewhere that wasn’t spiked…
Should be plenty of room to fly to Chalkou avoiding AoO’s. Using his neck’s reach to deliver the Cure Mod Wounds to Chalkou without entering his square.

Loreli will not use a studied strike yet, but instead votes to use her move action to withdraw a Tanglefoot Bag from her haversack, uses her Shift to teleport atop the nearby rocks Adjacent to the tiny bettle, and tosses it at the giant spider, expending 2 uses of Inspiration to bolster her aim chance.

If allowed, while withdrawing her tanglefoot bag, she also grabs a rock on the ground to use as a improvised weapon, and threatens the tiny robot spider.
If she cannot threaten the robo-spider, and teleportation does not count as movement, she takes a 5 foot step to slide down the cliff face, into cover between the massive spider, next to Lulu.

Grial Storm Shadow |

Wisdom: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Grial glanced over his shoulder. The spider monster did not seem to be a threat yet. The only danger was the reptile attacking his kinsman.
Grial did not understand what was going on, but he knew who was responsible.
He notched another arrow and leveled it toward the frog-elf.
"Stop this. Now." he barked.

Loreli 'Lo Munte |

1d20 ⇒ 4
"Not allowed to grease the Inlet? Disappointing!" the miss's said, quite clearly annoyed. Seeing Grial pull out his bow, her disappointment is palatable. "It's a test! We're supposed to do our best here, not threaten the proctor!"
Coming to the realization that she had no idea what the thing was, after she 5 foot stepped into cover, she instead withdrew a tanglefoot bag out of her haversack with her move action, as she had no idea what she was going up against.

Your tenuous grasp on reality begins to slip as you note the area outside of the perceived edge of the boundary begins to warble and distort, switching between the clearing, and the area aside the Keep, with random intermittency; the times in-between are filled with flashes of flame, strikes of lightning, and other signs of boiling, elemental chaos.
You feel yourself about to lose it entirely, when the entire out-of-bounds area (including an area 30' above) goes completely black; it is as though nothing exists outside of the area you find yourself in, and some inner part of you wonders if this is finally the end for you.

Suddenly Phaender stops playing his music. It appears as if his eyes fill with what can only be described as abject terror. His knees appear to give out as he drops down on them.
Dorffurd, noticing the fear in his otherwise calm friend nuzzles up to him and gently licks his face. When Phaender drops to his knees the bear uses his head to support him and tries to help him stand up again.
