One of the two goblins on foot in the center of the ravine who is entangled [Pink]once more shoots his shortbow. This time, however, rather than shooting at Albern, he shoots up toward Rafaelis.
Pink Goblin Shortbow Attack: 1d20 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 2 - 4 = 4 (entangled, cover) Blur Miss chance, low is a miss: 1d100 ⇒ 57 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The shot misses Rafaelis entirely!
The goblin that started climbing the Boulder moments ago [Green] finishes his climb and moves a bit forward on the Boulder.
Rafaelis is next, then Brethon. After them come more goblin dogs, the ettin, and the final goblin to act in the round, then Denge, then the unconscious, blind, and stunned goblin dog.

Rafaelis glances at Franufunduluh and asks, "Do you have any tricks up your sleeve to delay or drive off that goblin? I need to try and nullify the threat below us." he points to the goblin who just climb up onto the boulder with his chin.
Addressing the party in general, his voice high with excitement, "The good news is that there is a goblin shaman here with a wand of cure light wounds he points at the goblin shaman below it's also the bad news. These ones are tougher and better equiped than their bretheren of yesterday. We need to focus our attacks upon the wounded because they'll take most of down in one on one combat. Bear'f, please start picking off the wounded then the stragglers. Brethon, kill the one threatening Bear'f. Professor, you may just want to heal people, especially, Mr Fevor. Do not let him go fall."
Rafaelios will await a response from the forgotten one.

Yes, the entangle encompasses all plants within the green outlines.
Rafaelis glances at Franufunduluh and asks, "Do you have any tricks up your sleeve to delay or drive off that goblin? I need to try and nullify the threat below us." he points to the goblin who just climb up onto the boulder with his chin.
The Forgotten One glances at the goblin. "I can try," he says.

Clearly relieved he says to Franufunduluh, "Good. Buy me some time. Don't put yourself too much at risk."
Rafaelis gazes down upon the beasts below trying to gauge where to place his spell for maximum effect and decides upon the same spot with the two grouped to the east and northeast of his position. Once again he reaches into a small pocket of his clothes and pulls forth a waxed paper packet, cracks the seal, and pours the multi colored sand into his free hand, while guesturing and uttering arcane words, a dazzeling spay of color erupts down upon the filthy goblins!

10. Brethon reaches into the air and conjures a wooden club. His skin toughens and darkens, resembling bark. His muscles ripple once again. He brazenly circles around the bleeding goblin [Blue], the goblin dog it's riding, and the goblin fighting Albern.
Purple Goblin Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The goblin fighting Albern takes a swipe and misses. Albern raises the club in both hands, over the goblin's head and brings it down crashing upon it.

The scythe chops at the side of the riderless goblin dog's head [Purple], but misses.
You cheated yourself out of the +1 attack modifier for higher ground. If the goblin dog had still been encumbered by a rider, it would've been the difference between a miss and a hit.

Is purple goblin the one facing Albern? I believe he should have 13 pts on him, not 5. 5 from post 671, 8 from post 692
Indeed! There are two tokens on the map with purple markers. One is a goblin who came in on foot. He's right in front of Albern. He's dual-wielding dogslicers that he quickdrew. He is just short of being bloodied. The second is a goblin who was riding a goblin dog, but whose dog was not entangled and left him behind. He is out in the middle of the ravine in the initial entangle zone.
....
Oh...I see what you may be getting at. I appear to have applied damage that you dealt to the purple goblin before Albern to the purple goblin dog rider in the middle of the ravine. My list of HP on the desk here shows that goblin dog rider being down 9hp, which is not possible. That must be damage that Albern caused to the purple goblin in front of him. I apologize for that. Here is the correction:
The goblin threatening Albern collapses from its wounds! DC 11 Con Check to Stabilize: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 It starts bleeding out.
The goblin's correct damage is 14, rendering it unconscious and dying. Unfortunately, the editing window has passed, I cannot fix the annotation in the initiative order. However, it's fixed on my physical paperwork.
Jake, you posted Albern would kick the goblin's head away and step away after the goblin died. The goblin's head isn't quite severed, and Albern couldn't have moved without provoking attacks of opportunity from the goblin dog and its rider, so I won't retcon the movement.

GM Art Severance |

The riderless goblin dog next to Penelope [Red] bites at her as she stands. However, the shelf of rock protects her. I'm granting cover while prone on the top of that rock where Penelope is, so long as she's prone.
She attempts to punch at the dog, but misses!
4. The goblin dog that Penelope just attempted to punch [Red] tries to bite at her feet. Red Goblin Dog Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
5. The goblin dying on the ground at Albern's feet [Purple] continues to bleed out. See prior post, in which the stabilization check was failed.

Art: Do the goblin dogs have barding because my dogs only have an AC of 13?
The goblin dogs do not have barding. They are young, therefore they are small and have higher Dexterity than normal goblin dogs. They also do significantly less damage. And those that bear riders are taking penalties for carrying heavy loads.

I find three references to mage armor in the entire thread. One is your post, quoted above. One is from Nov. 19, 2014, stating that Denge is carrying the spell. One is from Nov. 23, 2014, stating that Rafaelis is carrying the spell. I see no reference to anyone actually casting it. Mage armor has a relatively short duration at this level (1 hour unless someone has a trait or feat increasing his or her caster level). I gave you all the time in the world to prepare for this combat, including an entire round between when the goblins were first heard and the trap was sprung (which lasted a couple of days in real time). Therefore, unfortunately, there is currently not a mage armor active on anyone. If I missed a post in my search, please direct me to it and I'll review the call.
Left to his own devices, the Forgotten One was going to move down to cast blur on Penelope this turn....
The rusty dogslicer bit into Penelope, greviously injurying her. However, the Professor's healing energy restores most of the damage inflicted.
Penelope is currently down 6 hp. Denge is down 3, Rafaelis is down 3, and Bear'f is down 2.

GM Art Severance |

Thanks for the clarification on the dogs Art. The Denge Mage Armor reference is on page 13, Dated 28MAR15 at 10:20am loacted at the very bottom of his post. He does a little time travel during that post so it can throw a person off.
Thanks, Brett. I can't even begin to tell you how annoyed I am with this forum software just now. I specifically searched for mage armor in the search function this morning and came up with the three references I discussed above. When you said where to find his post, I looked again, found it, and retried the search function. This time it gave me half a dozen, including the correct one. Grr! This has been a hugely frustrating morning all around!
I apologize for missing the mage armor cast. I went off of the number in Penelope's name line on the hit the first time. Once you confirm how you're getting to 11 to 13 normally and from 13 to 18 with mage armor, Joe (it's possible, I'm just not seeing what's doing it in this case), I can rule whether it was a hit or a miss. (The numbers on the sheet suggest Penelope with mage armor might only be a 15, which is why I'm asking before ruling.)
In any event, Bear'f is up.

Higher ground grants a +1 attack bonus, not an AC bonus.
Is the natural armor bonus for being a phantom, or from something else?

Sorry for the confusion, I thought you wanted one more attack from Penelope.
You're quite right. I just didn't understand that to be the slam attack. I thought maybe I'd lost my place in the initiative order and spent 10 minutes confirming the initiative order was correct and that I hadn't called for an AoO. Since I made that comment in the other thread, my search didn't find it.
Please help me out next time with an OOC comment reminding me why you're taking an action outside the flow of the initiative order. Unfortunately, these things happen hours and sometimes days afterwards, and I don't always remember every detail. You all (inadvertently) set things up to fight 90% of the foes in a complicated environment (intentionally). I have to go through and look each time, and the search function is really limited in this forum. In all likelihood after this combat we will take a hiatus while we switch to Fantasy Grounds before I lose it entirely.
