Hank the Keeper |

Attempting to intercept Sofia, Hank yells: "Hang on there! This one's a friend." [b] Turning to Karthurg and pointing to Sofia, [b] "This one's that friend I was just talking about." He grins, "These ones are both friends of mine and I hope they'll be friends because foes of my foes are my friends and foes of my foes might be friends if those foes are their foes too and aww dangit I'm glad we're all here together."

Belliken Weaver |

Foes of my friends are my.. Belliken repeats clearly lost. Anyways I'm glad to have everyone back and together. Quite the tussle we've been in. Hopefully we can all get along for now, seems like we're all on the same side.

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

Karthurg is glad to be accepted by another of the "normal" races. He has been brought up by orcs and knows he is seen as a savage. We have seen some traps already. I would hate to see you get injured. I am repaying a debt for these fellows helped me take down a few orcs and gave me some healing. If it wasn't for them, if it wasn't for them, I would of been done for. It would only be right for me to lead the way to put myself at risk first.
Karthurg will lead, searching for traps as he goes.

![]() |

Phedran will provide cover with his bow as always.
Perception: 10 + 7 = 17 (taking 10, as passive perception)

Hank the Keeper |

Hank will head to the back and coax Cammy further into the cave. He's got Cammy on a lead rope, so Big C can act as our rearguard.
Hank whispers to Belliken, "I gotta admit it's nice to have so many kind tallfolk around to do the dirty fightin'. Keeps Cammy nice and clean."

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Karthurg looks around the room for anything that might be of interest. I speak orc, can I recognize what they are saying?
When hearing orc voices, he draws his hammer, ready for the inevitable fight.

![]() |

Sofia lowers her voice to a whisper Hey, sorry, we’ve not been introduced and now probably isn’t the time, but you look like you might know what they are saying. That you have drawn your hammer makes me nervous
Sofia draws her Masterwork Longsword standard action and motions behind her to Hank, Phedran, Belliken and particularly Cammy with a hushed finger to her lips

GM MacShack |

While it’s difficult for Karthurg to make out exactly what’s being said, he catches a few snippets.
”How long do you think Gorocs is going to be in there?”
“As long as it takes to figure out how to take most of the gold from that raid for himself.”
“Shut it, you two! We’re supposed to be on watch!” et cetera, et cetera. When you want to attack, you can move into position, and probably get a surprise round.

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

Karthurg whispers to his holy ally They don't seem to be saying anything of importance. There are at least 3 of them and they are guards. Are you all ready for a fight? If we get the jump on them, we should be able to make quick work of them.

![]() |

Phedran nods. "On your signal, I'll fire upon whichever I've the clearest shot of." he wiggle his fingers, then pulls the bowstring taut to a half-draw. "... on your mark."

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

Not sure how you want us to work the surprise round, but...
Once Karthurg sees his allies ready to act, he gets ready to move in.
Since it is a surprise round, all I get is a move action, correct? so I will move in as close as I can to the nearest enemy and hope I win initiative haha

Hank the Keeper |

If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.
Wreck 'em, Karthurg! (edit: if you're close enough)
"Wreck 'em, Karthurg!" says Hank.

GM MacShack |

When it is her turn, Sofia will relax her shoulders, close her eyes and mouth to herself a chant that she knows well
Sofia will cast Divine Favor
+1 to all attack and damage I think I have that right GM

Hank the Keeper |

Hank will use his surprise round to cast Guidance on the nearest party member or, if everyone is out of reach, on Cammy. That's a good ol' +1 to any attack, skill, or saving throw that needs to be used in the next minute.

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

Also you need an unobstructed straight path to the enemy and line of sight and it doesn't seem that we have any of that.
Karthurg moves in close to an enemy orc.
The map doesn't have the orcs up yet so I can move once its updated.

GM MacShack |

Rounding the corner, you see a small firepit in an alcove. Squatting around it are three orcs, while another one stands further back, beside the river. You appear to have caught them by surprise, so none of them have their weapons.
In addition, another passageway leads out to the west.
Sofia: I think paladins don't get spellcasting for a few levels.
Belliken: You'd need to move up before you can get a clear shot.

![]() |

Phedran follows the half-orc ranger, bow in hand.
Standard: Move 30'

![]() |

Sofia will move toward the nearest Orc Standard action, 30ft move and will strike at it with her Longsword, trying to cave in the Orc's skull before he knows what has hit him.
attack with longsword: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 1 = 15
includes +1 from Guidance from Hank - if it wasn't cast on me, please subtract 1
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

![]() |

Phedran comes around the corner to see a melee, and can't quite find a clear shot. He steps to the precipice of the waterway, and notices a lone orc at the back of the campsite - a perfect target.
Attack, ranged (longbow): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage (piercing): 1d8 ⇒ 1

GM MacShack |

Sofia manages to strike one of the orcs around the fire.
Phedran's arrow finds its mark, and the orc grunts in pain, before drawing and throwing a javelin in return.
Javelin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Another orc grabs his axe and lashes out at Karthurg, while his companion retaliates against Sofia.
Axe vs. Karthurg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Axe vs. Sofia: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The remaining orc draws his axe, but cannot squeeze past his comrades to get into the fight.

Karthurg "The Lurker" |

I have always played it that drawing a weapon in a threatened square provoked an AoO but it turns out I can not find any rules that support that. Opps.
Karthurg shouts in pain and swings his earthbreaker back at him.
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 4) + 9 = 16

Hank the Keeper |

Hank n' Cammy rush forward--but Cammy's forcing himself through some pretty narrow passages, and Hank's pretty slow, so they are pretty much behind everyone for now.
Both double move to end where they are on the map. We'll get into it next turn.

![]() |

Apologies, my campaigns page didn't have a notification for this game for some reason... :/
Phedran, still having an open sightline to the same orc he fired up on before, draws another arrow and lets it fly.
Attack, ranged (longbow): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage (piercing): 1d8 ⇒ 3
Unfortunately, it goes a good three feet off and to the right of his intended target.

GM MacShack |

The northernmost orc hurls another javelin at his attacker.
Javelin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
However, the weapon only grazes past Phedran.
One of the other two attacks Sofia, while the other steps forward to swing at Karthurg, and looks very startled by the sudden looming figure of a camel emerging from the tunnel.
Throwing Axe vs. Sofia: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Throwing Axe vs. Karthurg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Hank the Keeper |

I know it's not quite my turn yet, but since I have a minute, this is what my two will do if Karthurg doesn't mulch the one standing by Cammy. If he does, then Big C will move to the nearest open space to the nearest orc available and do the same. If they are all dead by our turn, Cammy will look pretty disappointed.
Hank swats Cammy on the rump with a Guidance. "Get 'im, Cammy! Get 'im!"

Cammy the Camel |

One ... looks very startled by the sudden looming figure of a camel emerging from the tunnel.
"SKROOONK"
Translation: "You hurt my nice lady! Now die!"
Power Attack Camel Bite: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 5 + (1) = 71d4 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
...Hank mutters, "Damn, he never misses me."
