With Ferrek's expertise and knowledge of the trap's workings, he's easily able to disarm it, ushering the companions forward through the hallway.

It leads forward just a short ways before ending with a door to the left. Opening this door reveals another room.

Rotted sofas, several thronelike chairs, small tables, braziers, vases, and dented, chipped, even broken urns lie in disarray about the chamber, as if purposely tumbled and looted. Only the tapestries, featuring weed-grown rocks and greenish scenes of undersea life, seem to have escaped such rough treatment.

Aviel enters the room and begins to look around, and mere seconds after he enters it, the whole room gives one violent shake back and forth.

The wizard is able to keep his feet, although many of the objects in the room shuffle around or fall off of each other and break, and the tapestries shift from side to side with the motion.

Aviel can hear a subtle clicking noise coming from below him.

"Woah!" Garret says from the doorway. He blocked it with his arms, keeping everyone else back. He knew better than to grab Aviel. It was possible the entire room was some kind of pressure plate.

"Use that trick of yours to pop back into the hallway. Whatever's going on, it probably isn't designed to effect people who aren't in the room."

Garret looked around to see if he could figure out what was going on.

Ferrek moves up to the doorway and kneels down next to Garret to examine the floor. "Well, now we know why the room is such a mess."

Ferrek is able to divine that there is what appears to be a magical trap causing the room to shake whenever a person is inside.

With his keen sense, he is also able to determine that there's something fishy about those tapestries...they may not be what they appear to be.

I don't know when you updated it to that. I remember that you cast your fly spells to cross the multiple holes, yes? I don't think your fly spells are still in effect unless they're overland flight.

She extended hers with a rod so it would have lasted much longer, but its all good ill recast it..

"I can recast my fly and see whats up.." She uses her arcane bond to recast and extend a fly spell.. She will also use her staff to cast false life on her..

As Isletta enters the room herself, the room begins to shake after a few moments, but Isletta is in no danger of falling over. Flying around, Shade pinches her to stop and then motions with a claw at the westward tapestry - he can see the outlines of the door too.

The room continues to shake for as long as Isletta remains in the room.

He takes a single step inside the room while Isletta is still inside, curious to see whether the shaking intensifies.

"I'm sure the shaking has some part to play in this, but I can't think what. Which just means it's even nastier than I can imagine. Can we just burn away the 'tapestry' from here?"

Isletta's acid orbs That's magic missile acid-ized, isn't it? impact on the westward tapestry, burning away a hole that slowly widens as the acid does its work. After just a few more moments the tapestry is burned away and the door beyond is revealed - simply a mundane wooden door.

EDIT: So I just checked, and you can't convert force damage to elemental damage with your admixture powers. You'll have to use a different spell.

I'm pretty sure the intention of the others is to burn the tapestries down in one way or another. You can try the normal magic missile if you like, of course. And yeah, I read the admixture school, and my interpretation is that you can change one elemental damage type to another.

Isletta's force attack disrupts the tapestry's placement, and the thing sways back and forth for just a moment. Then its surface ripples, becoming slimy and gross. Then the tapestry's top rips and the thing flops downwards, covering calf of the room.

Shadassa is outside of its area of falling, but both Garret and Isletta are caught under it. The nimble paladin manages to dodge aside and outside of the area, but the drow wizardess is too slow and is coated in the disgusting ichor. She immediately begins to feel an intense pain as the stuff burns through her skin and her clothes.

The tapestry has converted into a slab of green slime! This dangerous plant will dissolve inanimate and animate flesh alike, and tenaciously sticks to its targets.

The only way to remove it is either to quickly scrape it off, or, if too much time has elapsed, to burn or freeze it off.

Isletta takes 3 Constitution damage from the slime.

Garret uncoils a length of chain from his pack and tosses it to Isletta, trying to drag her out of the disgusting stuff.

"Hurry, I don't know how long it will take that stuff to eat through the chain."

Not precisely in initiative, although I'm keeping track of how much you do for the purpose of the environmental actions.

Isletta is able to begin scraping the stuff off as Garret successfully loops a chain around her and drags her out of the area of the slime. Although Isletta is able to get the worst bits of the slime off of her, both her dagger and Garret's chain rust and fall apart and crumple with the exposure to the virulent stuff.

Of course, the room continues to shake, displacing the objects and the one remaining tapestry in the room.

Shadassa purses her lips, pulls out a Reach metamagic rod, and casts Resist Energy versus acid on Isletta. "What can destroy it?" she wonders out loud.

I.e. Isletta, will you know about, you know, a certain spell that Shadassa has that can harm it...?

Isletta is able to successfully save herself from the green slime, and then is able to destroy the other one with a burst of flame in short order.

EDIT: You should be actually at 55 maximum health right now. Your CON was damaged from 16 to 13, right? That's a reduction from +3 to +1.

Ability Score Damage, Penalty, and Drain
Diseases, poisons, spells, and other abilities can all deal damage directly to your ability scores. This damage does not actually reduce an ability, but it does apply a penalty to the skills and statistics that are based on that ability.

For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability, apply a –1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the relevant ability. If the amount of ability damage you have taken equals or exceeds your ability score, you immediately fall unconscious until the damage is less than your ability score. The only exception to this is your Constitution score. If the damage to your Constitution is equal to or greater than your Constitution score, you die. Unless otherwise noted, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged. Ability damage can be healed through the use of spells, such as lesser restoration.

Your scores aren't actually reduced with damage, so until she takes 4 damage she wouldn't lose the other 9 hps.. Now if it was drain she would..

"I'm getting to old for this."

The trapsmith shakes his head. "I've got nothing. Except these new boots you gave me. I can cross it, but I can't destroy it."

I have also been tripped up by that rule, and the difference between penalties, damage, and drain.
