It doesn't look like you included the +2 vs gases/vapors active from her breeze cantrip.. Would a 23 save?

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Breeze isn't an official cantrip that's present in any book.

Lol well i guess i should quit casting it then.. I just took spells from the pfsrd.. I didnt notice it was rare, not official cantrip..

I didn't either until I looked it up to check what it does :D

Can we get an approximate map? I can Selective Spell some Fireball damage away from four people, but I don't want to burn anybody. (except for the book fellow.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

So you're in a 10-foot-wide, 35-foot-long corridor, at the end of which is a conscious Garret, a sleeping Ferrek, and an upright golem. At the other end of the hallway is everyone else.

Aren't Elves immune to magical sleep effects?

Garret hated feeling slow. He stood behind Ferrek and tried to catch him as he slumped to the ground, but it was like Garret was moving though molasses. His mind, and the world, was racing faster than the rest of him could keep up.

Combat Reflexes lets me take AoOs while flat footed, so I can still activate Bodyguard even though I haven't acted yet. If that thing aims at Ferrek, I'm going to take the attack for him.

Female Merfolk Oracle of Flame/L9

Selective Fireball it is. :)

Aviel's usual laid back mannerisms were gone and he instead wore a serious and almost hateful expression. "Well, I figured we'd run into one of your kind. Let's see how you like this."

Aviel Casts Spiked pit. Dc. 21 Reflex.

Well that was a series of poor rolls on my part. Even with my +2 vs poison, I'm still out cold. I do fail only if I miss by 10 or more (Careful Disarm trapsmith substitution), but I rolled low enough that I wouldn't be surprised to still set it off.

As a pressure point moves under his finger where he knows it shouldn't, Ferrek has a moment of "Uh...", a moment of "Oh no", and a moment of "Well played", and then he slumps to the floor, oblivious to the figure appearing in the doorway.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Aviel starts the combat off with a powerful conjuration, sending the slow-to-react golem into the depths of an extra-dimensional pit. The spikes of the pit and the bottom of the pit scrape and pummel it as it falls, but its tough body resists most of the harm as it hits the bottom.

Thanks to her drow blood, Isletta resists the sleep effects of the mist and she shouts to her companions the weaknesses of the clay golem that they face.

Below, the golem begins to climb the inside face of the pit. Unfortunately, its mindlessly-controlled and clumsy clay hands are unable to get a firm grip on the inside of the pit, and it can't pull itself up. Its tough body, however, resists the damage that the pit's spikes would deal.

Garret waits patiently, his axe raised and ready to strike the creature should it try to rise out of the pit.

Shadassa rises up on her fins, pointing down into the pit and letting loose a powerful blast of fire. Despite the searing heat, the creature doesn't even try to dodge as the fireball explodes. A wave of heat shoots up the tube, but when the smoke clears, the creature remains unharmed and unheated.

"I can cast True Strike a few times a day.. Otherwise I can haste him if neccessary.." While waiting for an answer Isletta will cast True Strike on Garret

Female Merfolk Oracle of Flame/L9

Oh my, Shaddy is supposed to speak in tongues in combat. I've been forgetting that for, like, the whole module.

The merfolk hisses in Ignan and summons a medium earth elemental directly into the pit, commanding it to attack, then remembering she doesn't speak Terran.

Ignan:
Fight earth with earth...ah, yes, I should learn that language.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Ha! I've been forgetting too.

Aviel offers up advice while Isletta casts a divinatory spell on Garret, virtually guaranteeing his next strike to be a successful one.

STR Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Below, the golem's movements seem, strangely, to speed up, as it rapidly tries to climb the face of the pit. Unfortunately, its clay hands fail it yet again, even if its tough skin prevents it from coming to harm from the sides of the pit.

Garret and Shadassa's turn.

I think True Strike is Self only.

Garret sighs. "I suppose that is the smart thing to do. Lets make extra certain it isn't going anywhere though."

Instead of pulling his bow , he pulls a container from his bandoleer and drops it down on the golem's head.

Draw and throw tanglefoot bag.

Touch attack, high ground: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 1 = 32

Reflex DC 15 or be stuck to the ground and Entangled. Even if it makes the save it's at 1/2 movement, which should make Climbing extra slow.

Female Merfolk Oracle of Flame/L9

My turn was to summon an earth elemental into the pit...should I roll its attack?

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Yes please :)

Female Merfolk Oracle of Flame/L9

The earth elemental takes a mighty swing at the golem--one creature of the earth against another.

Slam: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
for: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Garret hurls down a bag of goop which explodes at the feet of the golem creature and spreads quickly, hardening into a paste and then a cement-like substance that keeps the creature in the ground.

Shadassa summons in an earth elemental, and the earth elemental takes a heavy swing at the golem, connecting with its fist. The golem's body rocks back, but it is unharmed.

No damage? A slam is a natural bludgeoning attack.

Active Spells:
Mage Armor- 9 Hours, Protection from Arrows- 9 hours- 90/90 points, False Life 11/11 THP. -9 hours,

To be fair, while it is a natural bludgeoning attack, your Elemental's attack is not treated as adamantine. The Golem's DR requires that physical attacks be treated as both to be overcome. Even though both the Golem and the Elemental are touching the ground, the bonus damage from the Elemental is only +6. It could also just be leinathan's way of saying the attack hit it's natural armor but failed to penetrate it.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Yeah, it has DR10/adamantine and bludgeoning, so the earth elemental's attack didn't bypass its DR.

Female Merfolk Oracle of Flame/L9

oh, I missed the 'and' part. We need an adamantine hammer, eh?

"Perhaps we can just...get past this creature?"

MAP 90/90 HP, 32 AC, Fort +17, Ref +15, Will +12, Per +11 AoOs 6, Intercept 1/1, Swift Shirt 1/1, Smite 1/1, LoH 5/5, Channel 5/5,

Again, Scarab of Golembane, and and adamantine axe that has a hammer as a back-side. I can take this thing apart.

"No." Garret says. "We can't leave it as a danger to someone else. I can deal with it. Everyone back up. Aviel, dismiss the pit."

Leave the elemental as a flanking buddy for me. :)

Aviel reached inside a satchel he carried at his side and pulled out a scroll. Then stopped and looked at his cousin. "I will not dismiss the pit, you death seeking fool! You will rain arrows down onto that... abomination, until it resembles a pin-cushion. If you are worried about slipping in... here." He places a hand on Garret's shoulder and finishes the incantation.

Garret sighs, draws his bow and starts firing down on the golem.

Maintaining crane style, just in case
Bow, attack 1: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 2 = 16

Bow, attack 2: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 26

Thanks. When I made this character I really didn't expect him to be as effective as he has been. I mostly built him with the intent of mitigating a lot of the weaknesses I've seen in mid-to-high level martial characters. Usually it's the casters who are all about having a tool or contingency plan for every situation. Garret's fun because he's a paladin who combines the attitudes I tend to bring to wizards and rogues.

It helps that I don't get made obsolete by casters that often, since ours are the blasteriest blasters who ever blasted. I pretty much only need to worry about Aviel throwing our enemies down pits where I can't reach them. :).

Garret kept firing, keeping an eye on the golem's climbing progress.

Most soldiers hated these sorts of enemies. He preferred them. Mindless enemies were predictable enemies.

Active Spells:
Mage Armor- 9 Hours, Protection from Arrows- 9 hours- 90/90 points, False Life 11/11 THP. -9 hours,

I am specifically the least blasteriest blaster since Evocation is my only remaining opposition school. And the only reason the golem is in a pit is because I didn't have any summons left and pits are about the only other magic I currently have on my spell list that will effect them.

MAP 90/90 HP, 32 AC, Fort +17, Ref +15, Will +12, Per +11 AoOs 6, Intercept 1/1, Swift Shirt 1/1, Smite 1/1, LoH 5/5, Channel 5/5,

It's a fantastic tactic. Garret doesn't mind using a bow. It's just not his first choice.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Aviel casts a spell on Garret to make him even more heroic than he already is, boosting his reflexes and the accuracy of his blows. Isletta stands back, unsure about what to do with herself and having no magic that will affect it.

The golem, sensing a closer target to itself, turns on the earth elemental and rips into it with its clay fists. The elemental is battered and crushed by the golem's intense strength, but it remains standing.

Elemental at 2/34 health.

Shadassa advises escape while Garret steps up to the pit to fire at the golem. He shoots off a pair of arrows, striking the creature with one and damaging it, before his sure footing fails him. His booted feet slide on the sloped sides of the pit and he slips and falls into the pit.

The spikes of the pit drag on him as he falls, heavily, to the bottom.

Garret takes 10 fall damage and 4 slashing damage.

Garret touched down with surprising grace, only taking a minor cut as he landed. The golem and the ememental made excellent barriers against the spikes.

Dropping his bow he flipped his axe back into his hand, switched it around to it's blunt back side to use it as a hammer and took two quick swings.

Axe attack 1, power attack, defensive, heroism: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 = 19

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21
