GM Dennis |
To be fair, you guys did decline entirely to look in this room before heading down the secret path...
When you open the secret-not-secret-secret door, you see the following: an elaborately decorated sarcophagus stands among the heaped treasures and offerings in this burial chamber. Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs on the walls proclaim this to be the tomb of Pharaoh Sekh-pa-Mefer III, the Pharaoh of Sphinxes. When the door opens, the lid of the sarcophagus bursts open and a mummified humanoid rises up to attack you!

The creature climbs out of its sarcophagus and snarling as it advances menacingly! I need a DC 12 Will save vs. mind-affecting fear from Oiur, Eugressia, and Ibb, please. On a failed save you are panicked.

A bronze scroll casing clatters against the floor. Old words spill from Oiur's mouth.

Having had enough of this pyramid's b!&@@&*!, the party quickly dispatches the would-be mummy. Searching the body, they find a very shiny amulet.
Buried with the mummy in this room are golden riches which, upon closer examination, reveal themselves to be gilded fakes, not worth much.

"Very interesting. It does appear to be the pattern I used on the doors!"
The ancient Osirian equivalent of a post-it note with the password. Awesome! :D
Irp |
Irp’s eyes gleam while he watches Ibb pout, then drink today’s Ibbaltine.
How about the stone door Oiur suggested earlier? Ibb will go wherever you tell him, now.
GM Dennis |
Sounds good. Let's go there.
You closely examine the stone door on the western side of the hallway, which appears to be untrapped and unlocked. Behind it, each corner of the room holds a stone obelisk carved with hieroglyphs. The obelisks surround a golden circle engraved in the center of the floor. A cool breeze emanates from the southeast obelisk. The southwest obelisk seems to be normal stone. Heat radiates from the northwest obelisk, and the northeast obelisk is covered in a layer of moisture.
Rowdy Copperpelt |
Sorry, I’m turned around. Where are we now?
Rowdy casts read magic on the hieroglyphs, and takes a look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
”Each a these here things is connected to a different element. Seems way back when they summoned elementals to help build the pyramid. But, I’m sorry, was someone askin’ about bar brawls earlier? Was that you Eugressia?”
Professor Lacrymose |
"Brilliant. Elementals. Another thing I can't poison.", the Professor says in a rather jovial manner. He doesn't seem to be quite as concerned.

Oiur walks around the obelisks. "Elementals? I suppose that makes sense. Hard to make something this large in the middle of the desert without supernatural help." They stop near the northwestern obelisk. "Eugressia, would the Concordance know anything about this? I know it was long ago, but..." They kneel by the obelisk, basking in the warmth it radiates. "You know, we are in the desert, and it's infernally hot out there. But something about this feels... Well!" When they lay a palm on the obelisk, they feel a hidden seam. "A secret compartment! Badger, give it a once-over, eh? Maybe don't punch it like it's just made a sideways remark to you over a pint." They wink at the gruff man, then cluck their tongue, close their eyes, and extend a hand.(Detect magic plus I feel like we should check it for traps)
Interesting synchronicity between Oiur's unintentional linguist trait/Ifrit connection and this obelisk! I was talking to Kate the other day about switching from Grand Lodge to the new Concordance of Elements faction.

The circle is just a circle on the floor. You can easily move through it/stand in it. I moved you on the map.
Rowdy's bullet strikes true, the creature seeming to recoil from the cold. Eugressia fires a bolt of force into the creature while Oiur attacks, but they are unable to connect with their mighty earth breaker (even with Ibb's flank). Ibb steps into position, bringing his butter knife slashing down through the creature and destroying it! Exactly the right amount of total damage.
