Well, to second Olimpia just in case, @DBH, are we correct in assuming we can spend all the gold here and that they have everything available that we could want to buy?

Are you sure you want to do that?

You may spend it here. Though the more exotic stuff will have to be approved.

Wellington is going to lockdown level 2 tonight. A person from Sydney who was in Wellington from June 19 - 21 was found to have Covid 19. So things are a little busy for me currently.

Sorry, no update tonight. Things should settle down soon. Been through this before.

Who do I need to talk to about getting my thoracic nanite chamber installed?

I think I'm going to save my gold for some downtime to get some crafting done.

Olimpia wants a more reliable way to turn herself invisible. Right now she can cast Vanish but it only lasts 1 round. Not super useful. So I am thinking out loud here. Please chime in with your thoughts. Options are:

ring of Invisibility - This is a good option as she currently only has one ring that she always wears. Its 20,000 gold and can be used constantly but does require a standard action to activate. This would let he be almost constantly invisible for when surprises happen. None of the other options provide this. .This is the standard I will be comparing other options.

Wand of Invisibility - 4500 gold for 50 charges. That means I could buy 4 of these and still be 2000 gold better off than the ring. A standard to activate but then you have to drop or put up the wand. Coiuld be drawn as part of a move but is not free to draw. Would only last 3 minutes a charge. Olimpia is an arcane caster so can use the wand. And it does not take a slot. Note that I might be able to buy wands at a higher caster level, resulting in a an additional minute of duration but each level would double the price.

Potions of Invisibility - Twice the cost of the wand per use but the bottle can be dropped as a free action instead of needingn to be put away put away. Same duration as the wand. I would be free to buy then in any reasonable quantity as were available and would not have to drop 4500 at once. But even 10 potions might be pushing the reasonable limit of how many one can carry.

Dust of Disappearance - at 3500gp a use this is the high end option. But it provides improved invisibility for a random duration (2d6 rounds). And even See Invisibility or Invisibility Purge will work against it. This nice to have is obviously a combat consumable.

Wayfinder, Vanishing - 8000 gold buys you a handy wayfinder that lets the user use up to 5 minutes of invisibility every day in one minute intervals. No slot used. Up to 5 quick scoutings of one minute or less. How many days will Olimpia need to use invisibility more than 5 times por for 5 minutes.

There are other more expensive options like staves and ioun stones that are not in the budget. There are vanbraces that cost almost as much as the ring but, while allowing a couple other useful spells at once a day only allow invisibility once a day.

Want the ring, but the wand at less than a quarter of the price might get O)limpia through. It can be used on other people too, turning the entire party invisible if needed. But it does not get me that always on invisibility that sure would be nice.

Thoughts?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

@Olimpia: Me personally? I'd go with the ring. All the other ones have a limited use.

@Raktar: Man that's the only Cyber feat I didn't take. I can take it next level and then install it for you if you want to wait that long. Yeah I know that will definitely be quite a while. Just some food for thought.

Are you sure you want to do that?

Remember you can also teleport to a large city such as Hajoth Hakados, the place you visited on the way to Scrapwall.

It would also have someone capable of installing the Thoracic nanite chamber. And having you survive the operation. :)

Teleporting somewhere might be a plan, I am quite keen on surviving major cybernetic surgery.

How much of a clock are we on GM?

Are you sure you want to do that?

At the moment you have some time. I'd say probably a week at the most before the Dominion notice the lack of Mi-go opposition and start to expand their holdings in the valley.

Elrys will definitely take the technologist feat at next level. With her heal skill, she can probably do the necessary surgeries from then. Perhaps she can learn from Raktar's coming operation?

Not sure yet what to spend my gold on. Elrys is a support character and doesn't particularly need anything, i believe. Perhaps a Dervish Sikke, if DBH would rule it works for a cleric with bard inspirations? Though Erlys technically isnt a bard and its mostly used by Sarenrites.

Other ideas are a bunch of support scrolls or a quicken metamagic rod.

I wouldnt mind lending out some of my gold out to others if they could get a hugely helpful item now rather than later, either.

@Olimpia sorry i dont know much about invisibility. But the ring can apparently be used at will and might be the best investment for now. We could also try getting some sort of permanent smoke/gauze mask setup going where we can see others but they cant see us?

Are you sure you want to do that?

Technologist feat, Heal & Knowledge Engineering skills are needed for Cyberware implanting. Very high DC as well on it!

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Well that's interesting. I did not know Engineering was a requirement. I've got ranks in the skill but it's not near high enough for that. So I'm gonna have to scratch the idea of picking that feat up. Will leave that one for Elrys. :)

F Human Evangelist Cleric 15. hp 131/131 AC 29 /FF24 /T21. CMD: 28. Init + 10 (roll twice). Perc.+ 30. Saves (/w buffs): f +21, R +20, w +25. Att (Current buffs) +21, 1d6+13. Well, to be fair, Elrys was created specifically for heal and engineering :)

If it really helps Olimpia, I could buy a wand of greater invisibility for 21 k. Elrys has a 85% chance to activate it under good hope. Might not last long but if we know we're walking into a fight, it could help. But I'd like to share the costs for this if we go that way.

For instance, similarly, a wand of Haste, which we'd normally be unable to cast, is a lot cheaper at 11250 gold.

And we probably should also take things like an ectra Life Bubble scroll, a heal scroll, a couple of scrolls of greater restoration and one or two of raise dead.

Elrys could for instance buy the haste wand and all the scrolls on her own.

@GM_DBH Would you rule a Dervish Sikke hat works for Elrys in increasing the bonus from inspire courage by 1?

F Human Evangelist Cleric 15. hp 131/131 AC 29 /FF24 /T21. CMD: 28. Init + 10 (roll twice). Perc.+ 30. Saves (/w buffs): f +21, R +20, w +25. Att (Current buffs) +21, 1d6+13. Actually... since the wand dc is always 20, Olimpia herself also has an 80% chance to activate a wand of greater invisibility under good hope +4, and Elrys would have 100%.

I think I'll instead go and buy a spectral shroud either at the caravan or in a city for now, though. We've ran into way too many ghosts and incorporal space monsters in this valley, and it seems a very good idea to have one character with good perception being constantly able to see invisible and ethereal beings waiting to ambush us. Also gives Elrys an escape option if she's ever in a very bad situation. And for the rest of her gold I'll buy some scrolls to cover if something goes horribly wrong and entering this thing leaves us stranded on a different plane of existence. (Btw, Is the dark tepestry a plane?)

Bought:
-Spectral shroud (26 k)
-Scroll of life bubble (750 g)
-Scroll of Mass Planar adaptation (1650 g) (I have 0 clue if this ship connects to other planes and could leave us stranded)
-Scroll of planeshift (1125 g) (see above)
-Potion sponge with 1 x air bubble and 1 x touch of the sea (110 g).
-1 x scroll of haste (375 g)

=30010 gold.

Leaves Elrys with some change.

Elyrs - two things: First I think Olimpia can activate any arcane wand automatically as an arcane caster. Not sure but I was thinking that if the spell was on your caster last you could activate the wand no matter the level. ?

Second, while it would be great fun to have inproved Invisibility, I am not sure Olimpia really needs it. Between high AC and Spring attacking when needed she is not hit all that much. Very nice of you to offer. :)

Are you sure you want to do that?

I've had it for thirty years now.

It's permanent sadly. Watching my diet has made the attacks much less constant thankfully. This is the first bad attack I've had in two years.

While it was a bad one. Dizziness, nausea and being left washed out it wasn't one the really bad ones. The ones where my vision blackouts for a moment or two and I collapse as it feels like gravity has turned 90% on me.

I gave up driving for 10 years while it was that bad. But as I said paying attention to my diet has made it much less dehabilitating.

Are you sure you want to do that?

@Raktar. It will cost 1600gp, take 4 hours surgery and a Heal DC28 check for the Thoracic nanite chamber to be installed.

There is a group in Hajoth Hakados that do this sort of work. Plenty of people bringing in cyberware and asking for it to be done. Eventually they worked out how to do and keep the patient alive.

Several Clerics & Alchemists are ready to perform the surgery if you wish it to be done?

Everybody else ready to go?

For now I need help in choosing a spell for the ring of counterspells and then getting that spell cast into the ring.

Olimpai's worst save is Will but Fort is onluy 2 better. Ideas include a targeted Dispel Magic and Baleful Polymorph which I think the party could handle. Might also like Feeblemind but am unsure if anyone in the group can cast that. And while Olimpia is an arcane caster most enemies wiould not realize that so it would be unlikely that she would be targeted with that spell. What are some other ideas?

It's on everyone and correct. Elrys has inspire courage, the main bard song buff, as an evangelist archetype cleric. at level 11 that's a +3 bonus. As a cleric of Iomedae, she can also cast Good Hope as a 4th level spell. Inspiring Spell is a metamagix feat that increases a morale bonus spell's bonus by +1 for a +1 a spell level increase. Finally, there's a not well known spell called untold wonder that also increases active morale bonusses by one. Together, the metamagic feat and untold wonder raise the good hope.bonus from +2 to +4.

Everyone has life bubble. I made a slight error as it lasts twice as long as i thought it did. It's 24 hours devided evenly among 5 people. So one person has 4 hours, the rest has 5.

Also, I don't mind if people include the +3 inspire courage bonus in their first posts of a combat assuming they act in the same batch as Elrys. Her basic tactic is *always* to activate inspire courage if it is not up, which she does as a move action anyway.
