"Damndable thing!" Nym shouts while dodging the nipping skull. Seeing the logic behind Aldous' words he goes back to smothering.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Wren will stand and pick up 'her' spellbook, clutching it again against her body.
"Thank you for your touch, Andrea. Fire is hot." Wren's smile at Andrea is not unlike a seagull swallowing a large nugget of bread.
Andrea is always so nice to me. We're besties.

Aldous Preklikin |

Round 5:
"Good show, Kevin! We may yet prevent the Hall from burning down..."
He then continues to try to assist the Hound in putting out the fire...

Kevin
Indeed - they both were across the room.
Summary:
The last skeleton gets hacked into pieces by Kevin.
Galadan manages to get one fire out and between Nym, the hound and Aldous the last flames slowly extinguish.
Outside Wren slowly gathers her powers again and Andrea organises the crowds who will take care any remaining smouldering bits of wood don't catch fire again.

Catching up with fame and XP
Fame at the start of day should have been 34
240 XP for the Piper of Illmarsh
80 XP for the flaming skulls
160 XP to rescue the town hall for burning down
+3 Trust for rescuing the town hall
80 XP for rescuing at least one villager
+1 Trust point for rescuing at least one villager
For a spectacular performance I rule that Wren is regarded as one trust level below the rest f the group. The only effect is that she has lower bonus on diplomacy checks with villagers as the rest of the party.
You are offered a reward of 500 GP to solve the problem in Ravengro. Feel free to add this as cash to everyone.
You know have the lower level of Ravengro left. I would suggest to deal with that next day in game time. That way you start fresh and with all resources. You still have a few hours and some money to prepare.

@Thod: We still have a 10% discount on purchases made in town, correct?

Aldous Preklikin |

I realise that this is something that would not be available 'off the shelf', but if I purchased a MW Courtier's Outfit (80gp), would it be possible to get the Master at the school to turn it into a 'Courtier's Outfit of Prestidigitation'?
As per item creation rules, for something that is use-activated/continuous, cost is spell level x caster level x 2000.
For Prestidigitation, that would be 0.5 x 1 x 2000 = 1000 x 0.5 (because Prestidigitation has a duration of 24 hours) = (500gp)
Basically, I like the idea of an immaculately tailored outfit, that is essentially stain-immune, whose color scheme I can change at will, and that I can cause to produce a faint, pleasant scent (all as per Prestidigitation) :-)
Thoughts?

@Thod: We still have a 10% discount on purchases made in town, correct?
Actually no - that discount only applies to the marvellous and trusted Wren.
The admired rest of the group is currently at a 20% discount. You noticed that you seem to lose a little bit of trust (1 point) each morning. Once you drop below 36 you will be back to 10% (and 5% for Wren).
I hope Wren doesn't seem to feel singled out. It was a marvellous piece of role-play. But it backfired really, really badly in the eyes of the villagers. Some even saw her fleeing the building, her feathers on fire and going down while her comrades saved the day.
I can see her as trusted but not as admired by the villagers.
The coat should be fine.
it will likely take 2-3 days. Not in the mood to look up rules now but that seems reasonable. You will pay when you order - so no worry about the discount.

Aldous Preklikin |

May I humbly suggest that we all chip in on the Wand of CMW (19 charges)? With the 20% discount, that works out to being 228gp each...
Aldous' intended shopping:
MW Courtier's Outfit of Prestidigitation (580) x .8 = 464gp
'share' of CMW wand = 228gp
Silver Gorget inlaid with amber (100gp) x .8 = 80gp
Ioun Torch (75) = x .8 = 60gp
Total: 832gp
Total cash available: 500 + 340.2 + 5 = 845.2
Net Balance: +13.2gp

Wren the FeatherMage |

Sorry, everyone. Work has been nasty the past few days. Stupid question: Do we level yet? Also, who has the treasure list link? Wren?
Wren has posted to the OOC thread about monies. I prefer to do such things there to keep the IC thread clean. Waiting for any info from Aldous and we can try to get re-organized going forward.
Wren will spend the day nursing her wounds and mending her armor, always with her new spellbook nearby.
Wren is happy to contribute 228 gp to the Wand of CMW and even offers to go buy it so that all her friends can see her again.
At night, Wren will again build a little nest near Andrea as she's a bit spooked and doesn't want to sleep alone.
Luckily for Andrea, the spookery makes Wren more quiet, rather than louder.

When Kevin approaches the smithy he finds the gruff dwarf idle and in a foul mood. All happenings at Ravengro seem to affect her as much as the rest of the community.
With trepidation you tell her your needs as no sense motive is needed that approaching the dwarf with the wrong proposal will spell a rebuff.
Hearing about your needs you see a strange change happen in the dwarf. She straightens up and while you would never expect a smile on her lips you can see a shine to her eyes that hasn't been there moments ago.
Without a word she leads you into her work area. There she shows you a black lump of metal. You recognize it as sky metal. Your heart sinks as this bit of metal isn't even worked on yet.
But to you surprise you only hear a short mumble
"Morrow morning ready"
With this words she just lets you stand where you are - seemingly forgotten. But moments later you hear her shouts to her assistants to heat the fire, to get extra coals, to come here NOW.
You have no idea how she wants to finish it in that short time and if it means she will drive her helpers to exhaustion. But you feel confident that whatever she is able to do will surely be fit for your needs.

Sorry, everyone. Work has been nasty the past few days. Stupid question: Do we level yet? Also, who has the treasure list link? Wren?
Not stupid - I did ask this myself shortly ago. I'm going with the medium advancement. I tend to give out 1/5th of the XP as given in the module as it seems otherwise you would get not enough XP.
This means another 800 which is likely 1-2 of the five haunts and a few other monsters. I would suggest not to try everything in one go but rather do one excursion - lay at least one more haunt to rest - and then we might be able to upgrade.
Andrea Greenholt |

Yeh we don';t want to face of Splatty unless we are 3rd level..andea gets some nice stuff there..another hex, more spells(including CMW) and spontaneous healing like a cleric
Andrea has no problem with her share of the monies being used for the wand after all she'll be using it.
She's also grateful for the quieter Wren.

Wren the FeatherMage |

The next morning, Wren will spend some time with her spellbook(s) and prepare to head on out to Harrowstone.
We need to protect this town. These are my friends. Now, what spells will be useful this day?
After eating breakfast (and resuming a bit of her normal chatter), Wren is ready to head out.

Galadan Teresthin |

Galadan is nursing a major headache this morning after another restless night with more nightmares, and holy symbols burning through his head.
"Mistress Wren. Why don't you stay in today? I'm sure our hostess could use your assistance in the house. I regret to say that some of us have been rather messy houseguests. And there is a whole library of forbidden lore that aches to be read and interpreted."
I guess I'll throw in 228 gold pieces also.

Wren the FeatherMage |

"Mistress Wren. Why don't you stay in today? I'm sure our hostess could use your assistance in the house. I regret to say that some of us have been rather messy houseguests. And there is a whole library of forbidden lore that aches to be read and interpreted."
Wait, what? Are you really suggesting that Wren not go to Harrowstone with the group?
"Oh no Galadan, we must get on to Harrowstone and finish our work there. As much as I do love the library here, I'm afraid that you might not survive the horrors at Harrowstone without me. After all, who would tell you all about the intricacies of the skeleton or zombie? Who else is as versed as I with in wonders of the spirit world?"
Wren attempts to cast Prestidigitation to help clean up her nest a bit.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Will Save
"There, I cleaned up a bit. Your turn!"

Galadan Teresthin |

To Harrowstone, yes. To the town no. Sorry, I misread the earlier post. I thought we might get our shopping basics done before heading back to Harrowstone.
Galadan frowns as he considers Wren's words. "Yes, we will certainly need your help at Harrowstone Prison. But I'm sure many of us will be going to town first to gather more supplies. While we're away, why don't you help the Professor's daughter."
(Whose name I can't remember)
"And try not to cast any spells if you can help it. It's very nice to see your magical feathers clean up the place, but we can avoid mishaps if you just do things mundanely."
On second thought, maybe she should come with us. Don't need the professor's place burning down.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Wren cocks her head as if trying to recall something.
"Mishaps, Galadan? What mishaps has my magic caused? I think I would find your insights more forceful with some examples of my magical mishaps."
Wren seems delighted to have such an active discussion partner.
"We can talk while you clean up your area, Galadan. I'll regale you with what I've learned of this new spellbook! It's quite keen..."

Nym Vallidorn |

Coming in with a steaming cup of coffee and a frightening case of bed-head, Nym noticably perks when Wren mentions the spell book.
"I"ve been meaning to ask you about that, my friend. I was wondering if you might share some of the secrets you've unlocked in that book of yours."
Can't think of anything in town Nym would need at the moment, but he will happily chip in for the wand.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Wren looks at Nym as if seeing him for the first time.
"Oh, Nym, it's you! Of course you can see my spellbook."
Wren offers Nym her feather decorated spellbook, but not her special precious spellbook. The spells are on my profile.

Nym Vallidorn |

Slippery little sparrow isn't she? I wonder if she's purposefully avoiding the subject, or just truly this oblivious...with her, it's hard to decide.
"Yes, thank you..." Nym says dryly. Handling the book carefully, so as not to knock any feathers loose he sets down at the table and begins absently looking through it for interesting arcane secrets the feathermage might have discovered. "Did you find anything of interest in the book you found in Harrowstone?"
Pending weather, I'm going camping this weekend, so probably won't be able to post tomorrow or sunday. I'll look over spell reasearch and see if there's anything worth copying from Wren's book and post up the needed rolls/accounting in the discussion thread on monday.

Wren the FeatherMage |

Slippery little sparrow isn't she? I wonder if she's purposefully avoiding the subject, or just truly this oblivious...with her, it's hard to decide.
Just to be clear (so I'm not unintentionally being a jerk to Nym), Wren isn't really willing to share the spellbook because of her compulsion, right Thod?
Otherwise Wren would gladly be rid of the evil, blood-on-the-wall painting, tainted, non-feathery book. :)

Nym Vallidorn |

Wren can try a will save - say DC15 - she surely is reluctant to hand over the book but will be allowed to do so if she makes the save.
Sorry to get Wren into this problem - you play it great if others don't even notice.
All
Sorry - was a busy day. I'm currently setting up my own business. It was a successful day and I hope there will be an announcement soon - and I can share more here as well. But it kept me away from the computer all day.
I will set the scene tomorrow morning.

![]() |

Just one more hint. You still have the Spirit Planchette and you haven't used it yet for the day. Feel free to use it. I could think about several ways how to make use of it.
Off course - you can never trust the answer but it should be more often revealing as misleading.
I think you have some essence of the cold spot haunt in a bottle as well as a haunt following Galadan.

Wren the FeatherMage |

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Will save
Wren calmly walks away from Nym with her precious in her arms, still ready to go to Harrowstone.
"Come along, Plumie."
She idly scratches her armpit.
No worries, Thod. Take care of the important stuff.

The night once again is filled with nightmares.
Ghosts and burning skeletons attack you at each corner of Harrowstone.
You dream walking around Harrowstone. Your name seems to appear written in blood everywhere. You turn around a corner and suddenly see all your names written on a white wall. You feel disoriented and don't know what happened next but somehow you cry. Cry on top of a ruined spellbook. Or do you cry because you are the only one of your group left and you didn't manage to save them.
You dream about Harrowstone. You wander around when you get separated from the rest. You feel pain in your back and lose concioisness. When you wake up on the dream you notice you are alone. Abandoned. You cry for help, for anyone - but nobody answers.
Blood, there is blood all around you. You have been victorious. Your training with the sword helped you to kill everyone who opppsed you But looking around you realize the price was high. Together with your enemies you see all your friends slumped on the ground - dead.
