"I've got good news and bad news. The good news is I think Im more or less in control of myself now. The bad news, is I don't know how long I can controlling my current stony body." His mind voice is dry. "I'd hate to be a lawn ornament permanently."

Nonetheless, knowing that there are limits on how long he has left, he bites and tears into the horde after enhancing his natural weapons with magic.

- they are alive and well, but feeling weirdly distorted by the surge of bizarre magical forces that occurred upon the unexpected destruction of the evil below

The dragon-statue's sharp stone claws, teeth, horns and tail rip into the frothing horde around them, rending into (surprisingly corporeal) ash and crystalized spite, the ill-defined nightmarish horror and burning and smoky shadow of death, as well as 1d7 ⇒ 3 destroying the twin dead wicked fiends.

Four attacks, four targets. I figured, if your attacks would have destroyed one of the venedaemons, you would have done the same to the second.

Usawoti slams his hammer once into the rotting flower, expecting it to collapse, and, though it is slammed to the side, it's corrupted flesh seems to continue to heal; too late to stop his second swing, he slams into the frost-rimed face of the frost drake, causing the entire thing to collapse as the destroyed undead before it.

Fourteen new horrors surge up from the old ashes. The two remaining drakes managing to claw their way on top of Usawoti, and their burning foul-smelling smoking flesh cloying across his newly-keen senses*.

* Recall: he has some draconic features, including a bite attack, now. Regardless, he has scent and stronger vision.

The larger of the two drakes (the one a little bigger than Mope), frustrated at how its razor teeth and spiked tail merely scraped Usawoti's steel last time, croons in fury, "Peel the fruit and drink the juice, eat the guts that once was yoos~!" as its jaws wrench downward, crunching into your powerful magical armor 34 damage (leaving 36/70 hp) to your armor, in a nearly-successful attempt to peel it off of you! Its tail whips around and slams into your arm 10 damage to you, roll a DC 21 fortitude v. 1d2 Str and Dex damage {6 rnds, 1 save/rnd; 1 save ends}, as the smoky flames assaulted him 3 fire damage, the creature grinned as its ravenous rotting drool slides down the body of heroic aasimar.

The smaller, shadowy dead drake next to Usawoti fails to assault the huge stone dragon with its needle-like teeth and sharp stinging tail, despite chipping away at the stone hide 0 damage.

The orbs seem mostly ineffective, at present.

The moonflower looms and strikes the stone dragon with a vicious bite and one tentacle (the other being fended off; 18 piercing damage and 15 bludgeoning damage; don't forget to reduce each of those by your new DR) and roars, threateningly.

In turn, Inarus rips it, and (reaching around awkwardly, and barely succeeding) the shadow drake next to Usawoti's leg (coming dangerously close to those claws meeting his friends' flesh), and three new horrors into a fine spray of rotted organics and aberrant flesh, causing the flower and drake to turn to ash and compressed malice, and the rest into gore that will likely feed the new (probably healthier) vegetation, here.

Usawoti turns his attention to the drake attempting to rend his armor, and quickly turns it, too, into ashes and compressed malice.

The horrors surge forward and claw to almost no avail, though one does managed to nick Inarus 6 damage; if that overcomes your DR, you need to make a DC 12 Will save (don't nat-1) v. being sickened for 1d6 minutes - this effect applies to your mind, not your animate flesh, so it still functions on you.

We are now all caught up. All the original undead disgusting things have been destroyed. Three of the new aberrant things have been destroyed (four, if you count the first one), leaving 15-4 = 11 left. They are basically flanking/surrounding Inarus/Usawoti and are clumping together around you.

No. That was your inanimate statue-body before you animated it. Remember the stats with the traits I PM'd you? Basically you're an animated object with those stats. I have not memorized what, exactly, you've got, but I know it is not the same as at that point. Sorry!

Stone and magic might not mix, but stone and gore certainly seem to, as Inarus' body of statuary rends and destroys almost half a dozen of the bloated frothing aberrants, and his aasimar rider brings down yet two more.

As four dozen more surge up from the depths, at long last the Eternal Seeds manage to finish a spell you didn't know they were casting, and tremendous thorny vines erupt from every surface - floor, wall, ceiling, plant - and begin rending the spawned sins, ashes, and compressed malice.

- Inarus is informed that he may wish to take approximately fifteen feet of steps back, just in case

The undead cacodaemons, are crushed, and the resulting sinspawn a few rounds later are equally quickly eradicated.

- the Eternal Seeds are now exhausted and shall sleep; also, after much debate and internal disagreements, they believe Inarus has become a substance known as "stone"

Welp, that's that battle. Did... either of you actually remember that this was a requested thing? Believe it or not, (though I was a round off; quiet, you, I was sick), I hadn't! :D

So the vines pretty much obliterate everything else. What do you want to do?

As things settle down, and Inarus begins to feel more nervous about how long he'll "last" he slowly becomes ever-more... aware of himself. He finds that, strangely, surprisingly, he seems to have almost... two, or maybe even three points of reference for his senses. One based around the newly animated statue of himself, one based on some sort of weird spiritual... thing... (oh, probably the demon)... and one based on... his... neck/chest area?

It's a little difficult to even explain. It's almost like he has a second set of eyes looking out from that location, except this set curves across the surface of the statue, each nook and cranny, the surface and the way it's depressed or etched, accepting himself into it. Inarus is exceptionally aware of his name, his virtue-sins, and his elements; and his magic. There is a lingering echo of two floors and a long bridge somewhere inside of him, or maybe outside of him.

And now, suddenly, he remembers inscribing himself into his old body.

Inarus feels... limitless magical potential inside of himself. Well, perhaps not quite limitless. But he may be able to utilize that to worm his way back into his previous self, after a fashion, by literally inscribing himself inside of himself...

Describing what it's like being a living rune <TOTALLY SECRET, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT> and how approaches to things like that work out is so much weirder than I thought, you guys. Like, guys, so much weirder.

He digs a little deeper to see if the stone was just the exterior coating, or has he really turned into a stone statue. Basing on how much stone he is, he starts thinking about what exactly was the process that caused him to transform into a stone statue (yes wildmagic and all I know), what exactly had been done to him (what was it about becoming a script, and flattened again?) and what possible means there could be to reverse it.

Then he has another idle thought, 'What happened to the soul of Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir? We took over his sins, so I suppose he's dead, or his sins shouldn't have caught up with us..'

He starts thinking about those two floors and tries to picture it in his mind.

How does those two floors look like - does it look like some place we've been before? I.e the bridges leading to the coven?

Can I walk those floors with a bridge in my head?

As he tries to examine himself, he finds himself engraving himself into different parts of himself, erasing his presence from his former location, and inscribing it into a new one.

He recognizes his transition into "something else" - he's seen it happen a couple times before under primal magical forces.

The first was when a demonic "soul" or "mind" was traded with his own, leaving him with a shadow demon body, and his half-orc body with a shadow demon though, in retrospect, there might be something... off, about that event; while the second was when he watched a flowering plant devour itself as a fiendish predator before dying and breaking apart to reveal a piece of jewelry.

He knows he has undergone both events, this time.

First, he was transferred, again, as before: his soul - though, this time, with the shadow demon intact - was transferred into the plant monster. The monster's mind was transferred into his former place... which no longer existed. It may have been moved into the dragon, but the dragon was dead (well, petrified) at the time, and it seems like the plant's existence is effectively annulled.

But second, that plant monster no longer is: he has become something else, a living script, a kind of magical sentence that has written itself into existence. He is the magic of wrath and gluttony, and just as he is Inarus, but also Dishadraluongg (both dragon and demon), and Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir (and each of those individually). He is human, orc, half-orc, dragon, demon, devil, genie, plant, and statue... and living runes. He feels the echos of hundreds of contracts (mostly with mephits) and feels their souls and spirits and essences surging through him, reinforcing him, their memories and essences having informed his current, final form - a 'sentence' (of a sort) that writes the truth of all of these things. The contracts have been annulled, but these are the essences that were devoured and have become a true part of him, just like an apple he'd have purchased and devoured from the market.

As he continues to explore his body, he learns that he can explore it deeply - extremely deeply. Though it is all stone, he finds that he can shift through the layers (ah! So he is still semi-incorporeal, ala his retained shadow demon essence...) and finds within himself every single piece, but smoothly and perfectly replicating the exact form he once had.

But he wanted to return to what he felt was (and is starting to believe may have been more true than he previously thought) his "real self" - his dragon body. And so he can.

He finds a way to ingrain himself into himself, and unifies his two physical natures, tugging and twisting the strings of his desires and how his wish sorted itself out, and he finds himself scribed into his own stone brain and spirit, even as his body thaws, and...

POP! Inarus is now alive and has his dragon body. Incidentally, your "shadow" magic - shadow conjuration and shadow evocation, any time you utilize either effect - can be used not just for the normal purposes listed by those spells, but also to imitate any wrath (evocation) or gluttony (necromancy) spell that he desires of 8th level or lower, though the % reality of the spell (20%, in these cases) remains the same.

Inarus wrote:

You can!

As Inarus walks the floors in his head - the floors that Usawoti holds a high degree of accuracy for, confirmed by "his" various "memories" from hundreds of souls and essences, and notices that these are all parts of a complex pattern.

By discussing it with Usawoti, they can quickly begin to mentally sketch a more accurate concept of the entire tower.

It... is enormous. Too enormous to follow through from top to bottom, and may even be recursive.

In short, it seems Usawoti was relatively correct: the creatures within the hallways of this tower (except for the plant monster) were generally created from within the tower - designed for nothing but struggle and focus to bring about ever-more power for the tower.

You've never seen magic like this, before, and it's clear that it's older than you might otherwise have expected. Also, the primal magic is corroding it. But there is also another, purifying presence happening on both fire/wrath and air/gluttony floors - the two that you've explored.

The part of you that recalls being truly an alien invader - that recalls being Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir - knows that the only true way to gain rapid control of this tower would be in the central area - up that middle shaft.

That said, it also knows that there is an oppressive tyrant on the air/gluttony floor, that enslaves others - a chromatic green dragon that was Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir's greatest obstacle in conquest, due to its power, but greatest aid in corruption as creatures did so to please the wicked beast.

Of course, you might just be able to exit the floors into that central shaft...

'There are so many parts of me now...am I me? Or am I someone else? When does me end and when does everyone else begin. Am I some kind of weird aberration? I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to Golarion like this...' Inarus thinks sadly to himself as he considers his multi-faceted personality now. 'There are so many parts of me...is me, me really the one in control, or are the other me's influencing what I'm thinking now? What if one day I'm no longer me, but another me?'

Yeah I know it sounds a bit odd, but I think it would feel like this

Inarus feels horrified and sickened for all the essences he's devoured. 'Urgh, I didn't want that...I NEVER wanted to eat anyone's souls and spirits. That's just...a horrifying thing to do. And I'll have to live with it for the rest of my life.' He feels a weird pang of guilt, even though it was not him who had done the act. 'Am I to be a soul-eater, one that cheats Pharasma of her due? Some kind of eldritch abomination?'

I suppose it isn't possible trying to spit those essences out to go to whatever afterlife they are due?

So I end up with Shadow evocation + Shadow necromancy? Also the living rune template makes healing a problem since I'm essentially immune to anything that requires Spell Resistance(with a few exceptions), so I basically can't be healed? Or can I use the symbols of power from the living rune to heal myself? Otherwise I'll just go shadow symbol a hunting.

Telepathy to Usawoti

"Yeah, I think I got this figured out..." Inarus's mind voice is distracted as if he is focusing on something else. He finds a way to ingrain himself into himself, and unifies his two physical natures, tugging and twisting the strings of his desires and how his wish sorted itself out, and he finds himself scribed into his own stone brain and spirit, even as his body thaws, and pops back into his dragon self.

"I think I'm now part of Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir, or maybe it's more accurate to say he's part of me, as well as all the other creatures of which their essence he devoured. They're all part of me now, all those many fragments of them...."

"Don't ask me how THAT happened, I suspect that wild magic tore my soul out and I inscribed it back into my own body, which was possessed by Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir."

"And I NEVER WANTED to devour those souls...but I guess I'll have to live with the results, unless I can find a way to spit them out so that they can move on." Inarus's mind voice sounds regretful.

"Oh and I've been looking at Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir's memories. There's a chromatic dragon who's been keeping enslaving others on the Gluttony/Air level."

I take it that the hole in the ground that is now sealed was Fire/Wrath, so since we're above the hole, we're in Gluttony/Air level? Which way to the Chromatic Dragon. And probably some of this

One: indeed, you are on Gluttony/Air (or, as it seems to be in the middle of possibly becoming, <Abundance-Gluttony>/Air) - this generally seems to have manifested as addictive inhalants -; the clogged hole did, indeed, lead to Wrath/Fire (or, as it seems to be in the middle of possibly becoming, <Righteous Anger-Wrath>/Fire).

Two: you're not entirely sure, but you strongly suspect, based on context clues, it's probably back where that one weird hallway split/hit a loop that you guys never checked out.

Three: I will have to consider the healing angle - certainly wasn't a thing I was considering at the time, so. That said, certain healing items should be able to obviate that.

Four: you're may be able to make a claim to kind of be the creatures that Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir digested - at least as much as you could claim to be Posubaesnes-Noztonaniel-Gulzar-Jahangir. I mean, considering you've got their essence, their memories, their spiritual stuff... though "you" are still in control, not "them" or "it" or anything. So, absolutely valid, having an exestential crisis, but, unlike the concept of DIDs/MPDs, no "other" persona "gains control" unless you kind of want to just do that thing where that part of your over-all essence does. So that's weird.

Step Five*: So... step one, for that plan, would likely be going back to that five-point hallway, then heading down the last passage...

* It's almost like I planned it!**

** ... I did not.

Inarus destroys all the evil crystals on the ground, then leads the way to the weird hallway split.(assuming my human doesn't protest on all the sidetracking)

After a short while, you return to the five way hallway and look around, again.

There are now five passages you see radiating from this central one.

EXPLORED! The first is, of course, the one you came from originally. No mephits fled this way, and the direction you came from leads to two side passages - one of which had a frozen and well-separated dragon corpse, the other of which had lots of messy corpses - and they hypothetical (but really hard to get back to) place you came from in the top of the tower (where you'd fought some smoky air elementals and a white dragon).

EXPLORED! The second had been inhabited by dust mephits, but extremely few of the surviving mephits of any kind fled down that way. You have now explored that, and added three dust mephits, leaving the cowering fiendish air mephit alone.

PARTIALLY EXPLORED! The third had been inhabited by air mephits, and a large number of survivors of all kinds had fled down that path - more than any other path, and including those that first fled from Inarus' intimidation, and most that fled the central area. The one mephit to stay conscious after Inarus' fireball - the dust mephit - had also fled down this way, even while swearing vengeance. You'd followed this one part way, but then returned after coming to a very suspicious-looking split hallway with nastiness all around. You suspect that there is an evil green chromatic dragon of some kind down one of these hallways.

EXPLORED! The fourth was the one that lightning mephits had inhabited, and the one that the majority of that kind had fled down, as had a few of the different kinds. You discovered the Eternal Seeds, the lightning mephits encased in amber, and that little but wind and smog elementals existing beyond.

EXPLORED! The fifth was the one the smoke mephits had inhabited, and the one that the majority of that kind had fled down, as had a few of the different kinds. Following the best understanding you could glean from confused mephits, you followed this after the air mephit hall. You discovered -after a dip of unbreathable dead air - a tangled and gnarled wall of growth, beyond which was a set of vicious and deadly mutant fiendish "feather-beak" creatures resided. Most of the mephits you'd gathered died, but of the three survivors, you regenerated and named one - Chandruu, the "shoulder mephit" of Usawoti - and have kept the others in his backpack; you managed to destroy the vile creatures, collect the left-overs and acquire some rare herbs that can aid in reincarnation, as well as clothing for Inarus' humanoid form(s). You eventually went down a hole at the end of this one and discovered "hell" - a combination of fire and wrath.

Inarus wrote:

As Inarus works on destroying the evil crystals, he finds it extremely easy to do so - yet, the more he does this, the more sticky fluid and tiny razor shards gets all over and on him. They seem perfectly harmless to move, but once destroyed, they make a tremendous mess that proves seemingly impossible to get off, and leaves a blackish-purple-red stain on his claws, horns, tail, scales, flesh, and a mild itching sensation that turns mildly numb after a short while (turns mildly numb after 1d3 ⇒ 2 rounds; this is similar to a half-strength analgesic effect from a polypurpose panacea effect.)

These crystals each have a hardness of 4 and 4 hp/inch of thickness, and are roughly two-to-three inches across (so 10 hp each). You have destroyed 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 by the time it becomes clear you're getting the stuff on and in you, and not turning it into useless dust and ashes. Do you continue? Incidentally, I presumed you used only the four natural attacks that didn't include your teeth for this; feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll even provide the flavor! Mmmmmmmmmmmm, purple-ish!

Are those crystals like the essences of things, or power sources that can be drawn off? Or sources of corruption? I don't really want to leave them around for people to find(and bring back those monsters), or succumbing to whatever radiation coming out of it. Also, what would blow them up?

I guess we each have our own problems, Usawoti with plants, and me with evil-looking gemstones ;-)

If Inarus cannot figure how to get rid of these evil crystals, but figures they are not harmful to be carried around, he'll stuff them in Usawoti's pack.

He checks if the Eternal Seeds are still sleeping peacefully, and if so, won't disturb them.

1) Sort-of; 2) Potentially; 3) Potentially; 4) They won't bring back the monsters (but could infect people with sin), but, though there's no particular "radiation" of any sort, it could be "metabolized" by the local systems (again) leading to the slow corruption of the local areas; and their stats are posted here, though it seems that "blowing it up" doesn't disintegrate it, but just decrystalizes it (though, perhaps doing something excessive, like dunking each chunk into a vial of holy water or subjecting each to several dispel evil spells in sequence may do something). In short, these are crystalized gluttonous wrath - malice - and they're what's left over after you literally destroyed the incarnations of the sins. They can actually be used in alchemical and magical rituals as power sources - either for good, or evil, curiously enough. They are especially useful for transmogfrification rituals for the creation or enhancement of items (either mundane or magical), especially in necromantic or evocative rituals; in such an instance, their use acts similarly to the blood money spell for purposes of payment (and any chunk permits the use of that ability), but each chunk qualifies as a single point of strength damage; the exact ritual is complex, fatiguing, and dangerous and this isn't a great place to go into details, but that's the short gist for now.

They are asleep.

The two of you come across the five-way passage, and, from there, head toward the hallway where most mephits fled, though you see sign that a few have passed through this area (minor prints or smudges on the sides of the walls, the ceiling, or the floor).

Again, the tunnel splits at one point, sharply angled in two directions. In either direction, there become smudges, smears, and smoke along the walls and floor of the hallway. On one, there are a large number of vitriolic-looking pools of goop with nasty smells; while the other has burned corpses and ash that looks like it was created by flames.

Even though you should not be able to, somehow you fit them in - they don't even seem to take up any actual room. Lots of experimenting proves this is apparently a stable thing. Though it has dimensions and solidity, it seems to provide its own "room" whenever put in a relatively confined space that it could otherwise fit.

Around seven to hunt through and pack all the little crystal things - up to fifteen if you experiment to figure out that they don't even take up extra space in the hallways, by, say, gathering them all into a spot and trying to build a wall across the hallway - you've still got just as much room between the "last"/furthest out crystal and the the far side of the hallway as you do to the actual edge of the hallway. Thereafter, it's about six minutes travel time down the long hall leading to the fire/wrath, and about 3-5 (2+1d3:

feel free to roll it yourselves) to get to the split.

In any event, ~31 mephits fled down this hallway.

As you arrive at the split, and begin to head left, about a dozen smoke mephits arrive from up behind you.

"So, ah, bad timing, we know, but, uh..." starts one, awkwardly.

Another cuts him off and boldly steps forward, saying, "What ****-face, here is tryin' ta say, is..." before trailing off and gulping.

"I- I- I-" stammers a third.

"We'z tryin' ta ask if we c'n serve ya an' become yer slave-family, please!" shouts a fourth one.

"Yah! What that ****** said!" explains a fifth.

"**** me!" mentions a sixth, "I'm jus' here to enslave m'self - no family needed!"

"Oh, ****!" quails number four.

"Uh..." says another - number seven, now, you think? Could be number three, though...

"***-*****!" says yet another one (probably eight, but maybe two?), reprimanding the rest. Then, to Inarus, he adds, "We're jus' here ta serve ya forever!"

"Yah! Here's the deelio: let us not be ded, an' we bind ourselves in perpetuity to y'r service!" says another.

"Loơk, I͘'m ̢g̡òin̶' t̶a͟ ̸ģo͝ ͡e̛v҉i̸l a̷g̢ai̡n̶, ͡ìf ya ͏d̢on̨'t͏ d̵o t̴his̨.̶" says the fiendish one.

"It's true! We know ya severed our contracts an' stuff, but we've already ****** up, beyond reason!" adds one of them. "You don't take us as slaves, someone else will, an' we'll go back ta hell!"

"Yah!" adds one (probably - aw, who cares, by this point - it's one of the 'not-fiendish' ones), "We don' wanna be condemned to that **** again!"

"'Sides," adds another, "We hear yer bustin' outta this joint! We want in!"

"You mean out, *******!" adds another, "He means out! We want out!"

"No! You're the *******!" says one, "He means in, as in-"

This quickly devolves into a shouting match and argument.

"Geeze, boss, these mooks is dumb." adds the lightning elemental from Usawoti's backpack.

"Yah! Dumb!" says Chandruu, "They don't even realize th' dragon ain't interested! They should try ta prostate (sic!) thereselves ta you, instead!"

A couple of the smoke mephits here this, and begin petitioning Usawoti, but are quickly caught up in arguing with their fellows again. This leads to general milling about and pushing on others, with only the fiendish one remaining silent and slightly away from the group, its face sporting a new eye-twitch indicative of growing anger, despite apparently trying to remain quiet and out of the the growing discontent.

It's a normal backpack.

'My backpack?' Usawoti looks at Inarus a little funny then says, "Hey Chandruu, open up the sack and let them all in, If they can fit they can be in there. Oh, and don't let them eat the crystals either." shifting around a little, he tells the others, "For now, anyone with us listens to Chandruu, I'll split you up better later. Chandruu, you ride on top and tell them what to do, quietly, please." Once as many mepthits as can fit in the bag are there, Usawoti tells dragon Inarus, "Were ready"

"Let's go to the other side," Inarus heads purposefully to the firey passage.

"Thanks for reminding me. I FORGOT to remind them about the crystals." Inarus admits, shamefaced.

They, uh... they definitely can't all fit in your backpack, Usawoti, but...

Chandruu hops out with the lightning mephit, and a dozen cat-sized smoke mephits sardine themselves into Usawoti's backpack. The upper smoke mephits are technically "inside" by his flap, but they are still sticking out.

As the two of you head down the left hallway, you eventually come to a side-tunnel - the main tunnel continues in a curve, but a side-tunnel crosses through this curve in both directions.

Usawoti is aware that, if the glyphs are what he thinks they are, going to the right will lead to a dead end shortly, while going to the left will lead to a few more tunnels; continuing forward will close the "loop" you're currently heading down one side of, and probably to another.

In this cross passageway, you see a confused fiendish ice mephit fluttering in a circle.

It snaps to attention when you round the corner, and flees to the left, screaming, "Aaaaayyyyyyyeeeeeeeeee~!"

'hhhmmmmmm, it probably doesn't want us to follow it.' Usawoti, motions the direction they were heading, "Do we continue the way we were going and jinish the loop, or head to these other tunnels." Tuning and asking the smoke mephitis. "Smokers, which way to the dragon that lives here?"

The smoke mephits (you are informed by Chandruu) generally shrug.

"Yah, few of us ever were allowed back here, without the express permission of-" starts the lightning mephit, softly, when, Inarus expresses his thoughts.

"perhaps you should have thought of that before invading my lair..." whispers a voice that throbs through your flesh and shakes your very bones.

A soft scraping sound can be heard.

An absolutely enormous vaguely draconic creature slides through the hall. The creature oozes sharp scents and a thick, damp smog, obscuring a solid view, but a distressingly solid horn black-green on the bottom fading to white-green at the to pushes through the clouds, and orbs that may be some kind of glowing ice - solid white in one eye and solid black in the other. A vague hint of green scales alternately tinged ash gray or white at the edges, and the vague impression of horned ridges running along the body from that horrifying horn or rising up from the clawed hands seem to be made of either air or water (it varies) of a black or white coloration. Its frame absolutely fills the hall, yet it slides gracefully, seemingly unimpeded, and horrifyingly majestic wings spread wide out of the smog surrounding the main body - wings far too wide for the hallway, yet also capable of stretching forth.

"my lair... my horde... my power... my sin... you have come to steal all these things, and thus steal from me." the monstrously large creature states, flatly. "my apprentice" and here, you hear a hissing burning sound and see a puff of smoke entering from the other way, "and i will never permit this. we will kill you, now, and devour you so that your soul shall not return and shall instead become part of us. and we will use that soul and abuse it and bring more sin upon ourselves and you than you can possibly imagine."

The second smoke reveals a crest of horns made of water and air with gradient from black at the tips to white at the base sweeps back from the head of this new smog-covered dragon, leading to a long neck and serpentine body of brass with alternating gradients of black and white, just like the much larger green-tinged dragon. This new creature is merely the size of Inarus.

This speech is long. Too long. And yet - it all happens in an instant, an impossibly short period of time. Too short for you to act.

Even as the beast speaks, a series of walls and elemental forces come alive, closing off the way behind you.

"now you shall die and your souls shall be fuel for infinite new sin... let us kill them! we will bar their way to heaven!"

"y̟͔̤̩͍̝̬̦͉̙e͍̳̝͍͎̼͕̭̩̯̣͓̼̭͚̯̩s̱͔̥̬̫̹̞̗̰̗̹̠̬̰͓ṣ̬̟͍͈̹̲͓͚̳͖̲̞͉s͉̯͕̭̱̤͕̣̞̳̘͍̖ s̟͎͔̭͕,̼̞̫̳̠̪̖̖̬̜ ̦̯͓͓̫̞͖̼͕̲͖̤ͅͅm̻̫̯̖̮̣͚a̯̤̹̺̩̺̲̰͇̙̱̖̮a̱̺͖͎̞̰̟̳̠͇̮͉̪̙̱͉̝ạ̼̞͇̬̮̱s͔̻̦͚͔̗s̟̤͍̫͕ ̹̳̞̣̰͔͕̥͍̲͉͙͇s̜͎̣͉̫̫̰̣͖͎̻͓̠̫̻̠͈̖̹s͖͕͎̗̜̫͇̩̰̼̪̖ͅs͚̭̣͙̦̼̠̹̺͓͈̖̼͇̥̮ͅt̝̰̥͈̯͚͚͍̫ t̯͈̬̲̹͙̟t̙͉̥̜̬͍̟͉͉̥͎̮̻t̗̺̖̼̦ḛ̬͙̬̣͉e̦̘͍̭̫̠͖̫̼̲̜̯̟̥͔̦̞e̬̭͕̘̞̙̳̙̥̟r̤͉̬̘̹̗͓̹͇ͅ ̙̦̲ͅr̻̥̙̣̲̟̘̥̙r̠̣̺̻̼͇͍̩̫̻̗̗͕͉̞̝̱r̜͚̯̬̪͚̗̙̗̯̮̮͈̭̤͍r̙̪̖͎̥!" whines the other dragon.

Oh, Inarus: it's a successive wall of fire, wall of force, prismatic wall, and wall of ice; the prismatic wall is visible beyond the wall of ice. You're not entirely sure what cast these effects, though - clearly, the dragon didn't. Seems like it may have been a prearranged magical effect, hidden from the power of detect magic - more powerful divinations would likely have caught it.

He turns towards the smaller dragon. "I have no quarrel with you. If you do not attack us or our allies, we will not harm you. That creature," He gestures at the enormous draconic figure, "Only means to use you for his own purposes. As a tool. Is that what you really want your life to be like?"

You gain an AoO to prevent...

Up next is Inarus, then "apprentice" makes the attack noted above (it is a charging sunder; a successful AoO v. AC 30 negates), then Usawoti. Inarus, you make your Will save, and begin to learn somethings. First, you realize that the green one is "covered" in what amounts to a minor image you can see through. Second, recognize these creatures as a smoke/mist-like creature; the green is a giant version, and maybe more. For both, melee attacks take a 20% miss chance, but for the green (and for part three), it's up to 50% for the blink effect that seems to be currently on it (unluckily for you, it seemed to ignore all of its miss chance, this time). I am aware that you should not notice that one for two more rounds. Enjoy early knowledge.
