In the early hours of predawn darkness the morning of Thursday, 24th January, as the adventurers sleep in their beds at Palazzo D'Borja, the Ogon Fox is visited in his dreams by Saint Cecilia, who banishes his nightmares of jorogumo with a calming smile and a sweet song, accompanied on her harp.

When her hymn of praise ends, she smiles at Fox/Toshio Okumura, and says: Do not neglect the Emperor's commission, good Fox! Your talent deserves recognition, and the Dame of Griffons still awaits its completion...

Then, she fades away, and Fox awakens.

In Celestial: I cry foul on the Monkey King! He’s cheating at the Game of Mortals! No fair!
In Celestial: Whaaaat!? No! It’s not cheating! What about your harping those ghasts into a stupor to protect your little Fox, My Lady Saint Cecilia? Was that fair!?
Well... That... That was different!
How so?

Um... Alright! No more interventions from anyone! Agreed?

Watching the Game of Mortals from her studio in Heaven, Saint Cecilia sees the Monkey King’s intervention and recalls her own divine meddling when she played her harp to befuddle the ghasts in the Catacombs San Callisto on behalf of God’s Crusaders...

I suppose it’s only fair... What’s good for the goose is good for the gander as well, it seems...

She begins to play a battle hymn on her harp...

Having aided the goodly adventurers as best she could with her ghostly harping of the Dies Irae, the ghost of Saint Cecilia fades away, as does the entrancing sound of her harp...

Saint Cecilia continues to play the Gregorian “day of wrath”, dies irae, plucking the ghostly strings of a ghostly harp...

Saint Cecilia appears in the chamber with the ghasts, which do not seem to perceive her... She begins to play the ancient church melody, “day of wrath”, dies irae, on a harp...

Oops! Yes, its an ORGANETTO, not organelle lol...

The Ogon Fox manages to resist being emotionally overwhelmed at hearing one of the Nine played by the ghost of Saint Cecilia, though it is certainly a great thrill...

She smiles sweetly at Ogon Fox and answers him, saying: I know of your righteous quest, my dear child... Take this gift which I have left for you on the altar... It may prove useful to your cause in the trials you shall face...

Saint Cecilia fades away like mist before a strong wind...

This time, everyone sees Saint Cecilia, and hears her play one of Toshio's nine motets...

Will saving throw from Ogon Fox, please...

The lovely Roman lady in the white toga appears beside the altar with the masterfully crafted organelle resting atop it...

She produces an organelle identical to that lying upon the ancient altar, and begins to play a haunting motet that is very familiar to Mister Ogon Fox...

Having sung several bars of one of The Nine, the pretty lady fades like a dream at break of day...

The lovely Roman lady sings the melody of a motet that is very familiar to the Ogon Fox!

Traaaa-laaaa-la-laaaaa.... Faaaa-la-daaaa-di-daaa-daaaah!

Her bright, ringing soprano voice echoes enchantingly in the catacombs to the ears of the Ogon Fox alone...

To everyone except the Ogon Fox, the east archway is empty... Not even Cardinal Lucius can see the sweetly smiling Roman lady that the Ogon Fox can see there, waving at him...

Informa il tuo amico, adoro i suoi nove mottetti!

Italian:
Inform your friend, that I love his motets!

The Ogon Fox suddenly becomes aware of a beautiful Roman lady in a white toga smiling at him from the dark arch to the east...

Sei un amico del maestro, si?

Italian:
You’re friends with the master, yes?

Cardinal Lucius finds himself in a hedge maze blooming with fragrant honeysuckle and jasmine... A beautiful Roman lady in a white gown leads him toward a golden radiance near the center of the maze...

In Celestial, she sweetly speaks: It is not yet your time to meet our Creator, my good sir... He has work for you yet to do on Earth... You are in the correct maze!... Now, awaken, good Lucius, to love and serve the Lord!

The blissful vision fades as the Borja churchman regains consciousness, to find the worried face of Johann looking down at him...
