Zogar Demonsbane
Zogar's weathered face broke into a grimace that might have passed as a smile. "Already you show me wisdom," he grunted approvingly. "Let there be mercy for the mortal weak, but let all others die on our blades." He hefted his blade demonstratively.
"Now, let us go quickly. Do not allow them time to mount a solid defense."
Back to H10?

The worked stone walls of this large room hold a number of shelves, each of which display the preserved bodies of dire rats, bats, rock vipers, cave lizards, and other creatures that pose in eerie stillness. A pair of bedrolls have been laid out to the southeast. You pass the corpses of a handful of mongrelmen along the way, as well as the corpse of a rather large lizard.
You all have your gear back, assuming you unpack the crates, yes.
Zogar Demonsbane
"You don't approve of the cultists' decoration? Ha!" Zogar barked a laugh at his own little joke, then nodded towards the door Allrianne had indicated.
"Better that way than the way we came from. Shall I kick it down?"
Seraphine Fiammetta
"I find that subtlety is often one of the better options when tracking down enemies", Seraphine remarks "That said, I am sure sheer force has something going for it as well...provided our scout has no objections"

H11 A muted roar echoes down the walls of this hallway. Near the eastern end, the worked stone give way to natural cave walls, just before the hall ends at an open shaft. Hanging over the edge of the shaft is a knotted rope—the other end tied to an iron spike driven into the ground. You think you just catch a glimpse of something heading down the rope.
Seraphine Fiammetta
Seraphine follows, heading after Zogar and Allrianne. As soon as she is within range (30 feet and if this is possible), she will use Mage Hand on the rope, to pull itself back up, or thus move the rope in such a way as to hinder someone attempting to climb down it.

You see two shadowy humanoids disappearing into the depths below. Strength check please Zogar.

2 humans, 150 lbs each + 10 each weapon, + 25 each armor, +10 lbs misc = 195 x 2 = 390.
As you begin hauling up the rope, it becomes suddenly much lighter, followed almost instantly by the sounds of splashing.

The splashing intensifies, and screams of terror soon follow.
Allrianne
"Hey Zogor do you trust me" Allrianne says reaching for him with a mischievous smile.
I can cast feather fall affecting two targets, should be quicker than climbing down
On second thoughts I managed to miss the screaming first time I read Akinra's post, how about we just pull up the rope and leave them down there?

At the bottom of the hole, you spy two people being repeatedly charged and dismembered by some very large fish.
Seraphine Fiammetta
Lol sucks for them im not in a charitable mood today. Would it be terribly evil of me to wave cheerily as they are devoured?
In all seriousness what do there people look like, do they wish for aid now that they are screwed, redemption?
Zogar Demonsbane
Zogar gave Allrianne a suspicious look. "I do not know you well," he pointed out, seemingly uncaring of the screams below. Letting the rope fall to the floor beside him, he peered over the edge of the hole.
"I wonder what they thought they were fleeing to? I do not think they sought death," he mused. "If they thought they would be safe below, it is a path we will have to investigate, whatever waits in the water."

Ever observant, Horgus pipes up. "They look like gar. A really big predator fish. On the bright side, they are animals, and I doubt they are quite so hungry as they were just moments ago."
Allrianne
"In my defence they weren't being munched when I opened my mouth."
Allrianne ponders the fish for a moment.
"We could throw down some of the other bodies you've left scattered around, make sure they're well fed, and I'd rather the fish ate them than they sit around until more unpleasant creatures come for some dinner."
"Are there any other paths to travel, or is this the only way?"
Zogar Demonsbane
"I would rather we checked elsewhere for trouble before venturing down a hole with no other way up than a rope easy to cut," Zogar rumbled. "Your idea with the bodies is good. Let us throw them down now, then return after our search, once the gar have had time to feast. Perhaps we will bring them dessert. Ha!"
He turned to go get the bodies, intending to toss them down the hole.

The bodies of the fallen splash into the water below. The first couple are devoured hungrily by the gar, the rest just float on top of the surface, slowly bloating.
Zogar Demonsbane
Zogar only grunted at Iomedae's admission, dusting his hands off with a final look down the hole, before going to search for any doors they had missed.

The fish look incredibly well sated, and the water looks much more foul than it did just moments ago. A quick search of the floor reveals another hole leading down from the room once belonging to your freshly uncrated allies.
Zogar Demonsbane
Well, I guess we're going down then. I suppose we could tie a rope around Iomedae and lower her down. ;) Or Allrianne could cast feather fall on her.
Are you still with us, Aranthis?

Iomedae ties herself off and begins the 30' climb down, she does her best, but after only a few feet, she slips and drops 10' falling 10': 1d6 ⇒ 1 before the rope goes taught, abruptly halting her decent. It would appear she does need help.
Seraphine Fiammetta
Resisting the urge to snigger, Seraphine glides down using the cloudwalking scale she owns, hovering in front of Iomedae "Brace against me, and Zogar will pull you up" she orders, still trying to keep the smile off her face.
Zogar Demonsbane
"We can tie knots in the rope to make climbing down and out again easier. Re-tie yourself to the end of the mongrelfolk's rope, and I will lower you," Zogar suggested. If Iomedae's failure to climb down had amused him, it was impossible to tell on his craggy face. "Brace yourself against the wall, and Seraphine."
Zogar Demonsbane
That's what I was thinking, too.
Strength check, if necessary: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Zogar's bulging arms strained as he lowered Iomedae down to the fish. Then he followed her down.

Grunting at Iomedae's thanks, Zogar drew his sword as well. He, too, looked around for trouble, fish, or anything of interest. "Maybe we will eat the hunters. Ha!"
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 This water appears to be wet.

Sorry, the forum goblins got my last post!
1d20: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Neither of you notices anything particular about the water, perhaps it is the blood and gore making the water cloudy, then again, maybe you are just distracted. The gar appear well sated, but they are still predators and likely to defend their home if it seems necessary. For now, they are simply too tired and well fed to care.
Anevia Tirabade decides to join you, leaving the blind Aravashnial in Horgus' care. Taking her time to get down the rope seems to make the task easy enough for the young lady.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
"What do you make of that door over there, to the east?" she asks, carefully treading water to avoid sinking any more than she has to.

Horgus will not opt to climb down, nor will the blind elf. Does anyone else wish to descend?
