Caladire "Varn" Sophas |

Merc, you're the man! Alright, everyone has five rounds of Mythic Haste. Make each round count! Varn has two MP left...

Tessai |

Dang Aeron, that is a LOT of damage... I have a question though - how do you attack so many times? Is it because of Amazing Initiative? I just want to know if I get that many attacks :D
Gonna delay until Othello moves out of my way so I can charge :D
In any case, I can always be gathering intel while I wait:
Knowledge (Planes) - what are we up against?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Aeron Stillwaters |

My champion ability Fleet Charge allows me to move and attack as a swift action. That leaves me with my full round action for once I'm in melee, so two attacks, plus the bonus one from haste.
Once I get mythic vital strike, I probably wont use it as often, since I wont care about full attacks, but for now, it's pretty fun. Too bad I rolled a 1 and a 2, though.

DireMerc |

You recognize the creature as a chimera although this specimen is larger and stronger than most of it's kind.
Chimeras are monstrous creatures born of primordial evil. Hateful and hungry, they hunt on the ground or in the air. A chimera's dragon head may be of any evil dragon type, with the corresponding breath weapon, and its wings usually match the scales on its head. Chimeras speak with three overlapping voices, but rarely do so, typically only when playing toady to a more powerful creature. A chimera is 5 feet tall at the shoulder, nearly 10 feet long, and weighs 700 pounds.
Chimeras prefer meat but can subsist on vegetable matter if necessary (although being forced to do so generally leaves the beasts more ill-tempered than usual). Their flight means they can pick and choose their prey, and they usually hunt a large area in search of easy food. They are too stupid and belligerent to acquire followers, though sometimes a tribe of kobolds might give them offerings. Conversely, they are just intelligent and stubborn enough that they make poor pets, and only a significantly more powerful creature can keep them submissive. They may form equal partnerships with a respectful humanoid or similar creature, and even consent to be used as a mount. A pride of chimeras is very leonine in its hierarchy, with a dominant male leading the group and most of the hunting done by the females. A solitary chimera may be a young male or a female with cubs nearby.
How does Aeron have +25 to damage thought? That actually does seem a bit much.

Othello Bonmarlo |

I guess move out of Tessai's way to L5.
Moving to a better(?) position, Othello bestows a bane against magical beasts on his bow and fires on at it.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 24
2 from bane, 2 from feats, 1 from haste
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 92d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 = 17

Caladire "Varn" Sophas |

Well, I got a total of 24 damage per attack with his archetype, Mythic Power Attack, etc. Though I might be missing something that adds that extra 1 damage. So he's pretty spot on. Mythic Two-Handed Fighters can deal out some SICK damage.

Othello Bonmarlo |

Don't underestimate fighters in general. I had a friend who rolled fighter who hits like a tank and the gm cannot touch him with anything besides magic.

Aeron Stillwaters |

Ok Math Time:
Str 23 = +6dmg, +12 two-handed (archetype feature)
Mythic power attack = +9 dmg
+1 falchion = +1dmg
Weapon specialization(feat) = +2 dmg
Weapon Training (fighter feature): +1 dmg
12 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 25
I'm glad that worked out, you guys had be worried for a second. I might be a one trick pony, but its quite the trick.... Until I get dominated and then murder the whole party. But seriously, we might want to have a contingency for that, because pretty quick here, I'll be able to one shot other party members if that happens.

Caladire "Varn" Sophas |

You can already one shot Varn with a full attack action... just saying... lol! Also, I see how you got +9 from PA. You're tallying up the 1/2's instead of just dropping them like I was. Makes sense now!

Orlando Nedraid |

He ducks the spread of ice shards... Reflex save vs DC19: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 17 + 1 = 34
Continues to Inspire Courage by reciting the Myths of Old Azlant (+1 to hit, +1 damage) to all allies
Spring attack to (J,8)
Rapier attack: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 1 + 1 = 24 for a possible 1d6 + 8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 6 + 1 = 20 piercing, cold iron, magic and precision damage.
Spring out to (L,2).

Tessai |

Tessai's eyes gleam as she moves towards the demon, Radiance shining and held strong in two hands - "You have made a big mistake in coming out of your lair monster - we will drive you back into the Pit!! The Goddess so dictates!"
Swift: Smite Evil
Full-Round: Move to K:8 (not gonna charge after all - want to keep the AC: should be 26 with Smite)
Radiance Attack: 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 17 + 2 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 30 ⇒ (2) + 30 = 32

Caladire "Varn" Sophas |

Sorry guys, very busy night at work... Working on my post now. Varn has 1 more MP he can use. I figure, best save it for an emergency... I will likely just be tagging the chimera with Reveal Weakness from this point on.
With Varn's last Haste spell already working for his companions, he gathers his will and tears a hole into the fabric of space and time. A jagged portal darker than the blackest night suddenly appears and Varn reaches into the Void to gather an inky substance into his hands. He works his hands around the Void-stuff as it hovers in front of his chest. Suddenly he throws his hands forward towards the chimera! The Void-stuff shoots towards it target, intent to burn away some of its life essence. "Hold strong, friends! I will do what I can!"
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Negative Energy Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 3) = 13
Burning 1 MP to use Wild Arcana to cast Gloombind Bolts. If the attack is successful, then the chimera must attempt a Ref save DC 19 or become blinded for 1 round.

Korric 'Plasas' Redsmile |

Since Korric is more about support and buffing, she'll do what she can to keep her more powerful allies fighting, and keep as many soldiers alive as possible. At least until later levels where she can cause serious havoc.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Korric grunted and hit the ground as she was blasted by the gargoyle's roar, managing to pick herself up and began her counter-attack. Throwing her hands into the air, she began to drone in Sylvan, chanting something in a low rumbling tone. The earth behind her tent suddenly burst up, revealing a stone arm, that slowly hauls out a Huge stone Golem, caked in solid rock and earth.
The might construct lumbers forth, stepping over Korric's tent, as she gave it a very simple order: "Golem, crush the monster!"
It's actually a Minor Image. The Gargoyle has to study it with a standard action in order to get its Will save to disbelief. DC 16.
Arcane Heritage allows me a +1 to my DC when a metamagic feat is applied. So I'll be casting it through my Metamagic Extend, Lesser rod.

DireMerc |

Korric do try to go back and read the previous posts before making your own...As Aeron pointed out this is going to have no affect on the current combat which is against a Chimera not a gargoyle.
The chimera now blinded will focus it's efforts on Aeron and Tessai who hurt it rather badly despite it's thought skin. The heads go for Aeron and the claws go for Tessai attacking their last known positions.

It also has these abilities.
Coordinated Bites (Ex) If Soltengrebbe attacks a single target
with both of its bite attacks, it treats that target as if the
target were flat-footed against those attacks.
Crushing Jaws (Ex) If Soltengrebbe hits a creature with both
bite attacks, it can expend one use of mythic power to
savage its prey as an immediate action. This immediately
deals 2d6+7 points of damage as it chews on the victim.
In addition, the victim must succeed at a DC 19 Fortitude
save to resist being staggered by the pain for 1d4 rounds.
The save DC is Strength-based.
Aeron needs to make a dc 19 fort save to resist being staggered and takes 64 points of damage.
Tessai takes 11 damage.
Your go again, you can all post in any order. Note that the chimera cannot take attacks of opportunity while it is blind which will last until the beginning of varn's turn and we will say that varn goes last in the party but you can post in any order.
The chimera is actually at around 50% hp remaining after that first round so you could possibly down it.

Aeron Stillwaters |

Round: 2
Hp 3/98; AC 13(12)/12T/10FF; CMD 20
+10F/+5R/+8W
Mythic power: 0/5
Buffs:Mythic Haste.
Fort DC19: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 Sad trombone
Savaged by tooth and claw, Aeron wobbles, but refuses to fall. More shredded flesh than man, he spits his defiance into the maw of death one last time and lashes out:
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29
Damage (vital Strike): 4d4 + 25 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 2) + 25 = 37
Feeling his blade strike true, his mouth splits into a bloody grin as he awaits for the darkness to claim him.
Come on Tessai!! Three attacks that bypass DR. You got this.
Seriously though, and this goes for everyone, if you've been holding onto any fancy mythic abilities, now might be the time to bust them out.

Tessai |

From the corner of her eye, Tessai spies how hurt Aeron is, and understand the terrible foe they are up against - "Lend me the strength Iomedae" - she whispers.
Tessai risen high, the power of myths flowing through her veins, the unlikely tiefling Paladin attacks once and again, bolstered by both magic and word from her companions - "Face ME demon! I am your foe! The Goddess is your foe! " - she roars.
Radiance: 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 17 + 2 = 30

Gave it my best Aeron ;)

DireMerc |

Hmm very good indeed over 200 damage in 2 rounds to the chimera!
Aeron lands a solid blow and Tessai's aim is true and imbued with divine magic Radiance slices right trough the demonic chimera's supernaturally thick hide.
With a mighty roar the beast goes down.
You archers have taken down the gargoyles and the undead are under control and will soon be wiped out.
You can all gain a mythic tier.

Orlando Nedraid |

Spring attack to (J,8)
Rapier attack: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 14 + 1 + 1 = 23
"Heyah!"
He realized the creature was down.
"Yes. Well. Well done lads! Victory!" He cheered.

Tessai |

"Well done friends" - Tessai smiles at those around her "Let us hope this was a decisive blow against the citadel"
Turning to the army, shining radiance held high, she shouts - "The day is OURS!"
Then moving closer to Aeron, lays her hand on his shoulder, allowing the light of Ionedae to heal some of the mighty warrior's wounds, once and again.
LoH Aeron: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) = 12
LoH Aeron: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) = 17
"Iomedae blessings on you brother - they are deserved"

DireMerc |

Well you let the men clean up or help and then you go back to get some rest. There are no other attacks this night.
The next day you have to decide on your course of action.
Here is a map of the situation in Drezen.
On the first day you manage to secure both the southbank and Paradise hill. During the night ghouls attacked from the west while you made camp in southbank.
To the west there is a large black dome covering the graveyard.
And all other enemy forces have retreated to the citadel walls.

Caladire "Varn" Sophas |

Will update Varn shortly. Been busy, sorry guys!
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
Knowledge: Religion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Blah!
Varn enjoys his well-earned rest and come the morning he prepares his spells and marvels at his newly increases power from defeating the chimera the night prior. Once back in the day, he examines the large black dome, but does not seem to recognize the strange effect. "I do not like that thing, I wish I could identify that accursed dome!"
*EDIT*
I just remembered I can Take 10 on Knowledge checks... Merc, would you allow that as a RETCON, or should we just power on and I will remember next time? If allowed, Varn will have a total of 28 on his spellcraft check.

Orlando Nedraid |

Orlando nodded, and flourished a bow.
"It will be my great honor to help scout the are.
"My personal feeling is that we should reduce the enemies outside the citadel first; cutting them off from all reinforcement and communication."
He grinned.
"Then we can attend to them at our leisure."

Othello Bonmarlo |

"With all due respect," Othello interjects, "I would prefer if we take out... whatever that is in the graveyard, and secure our flank. We might be here for another night and we don't to deal with another surprise attack."

Orlando Nedraid |

Orlando frowned and gazed at the dark dome in the southwest.
"Aye," He said slowly. "I would wager the Paladin units can defend themselves very well against undead; but our newly freed prisoners/army might very well be eaten by the kind of things that can come out of a defiled graveyard at night."
GM, is the area map up to date? I thought we conquered the south bank.

DireMerc |

Here is a map of the situation in Drezen.
On the first day you manage to secure both the southbank and Paradise hill. During the night ghouls attacked from the west while you made camp in southbank.
To the west there is a large black dome covering the graveyard.
The map depicts the situation before you arrived. You did indeed clear southbank and paradise hills.

Aeron Stillwaters |

Aeron scratches at a fresh scar.
"I don't like the idea of throwing our might agains those walls until we've secured immediate area. If there are still enemies about they might be able to harry our flanks or rear guard during an assault. We're winning. No need to press our luck now, so let's take the time to do this right."

Sociel Vanic |

Sociel comes up to you once they are out of earshot.
"M'lords sorry to bother you with this but it's about Aeron. I feel you should be informed at this point that he is a former criminal who was sentenced to serve the crusade as a scout. He has been doing so for three years now and has served admirably but I suspect one of his old habits may have resurfaced. Aeron was also a drug addict and while he has been clean since he joined the crusade I believe he may be using again."

Orlando Nedraid |

Orlando nodded.
"Well then, perhaps I shall discreetly tag along with Aeron. We shall see if he is as skilled as he claimed."
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 He said, tripping over his scabbard as he set out.

Othello Bonmarlo |

Othello watches Orlando try to follow after Kirth. "You do that. Try to be discreet about."
He turns to Sociel, "What makes you think he drop back to old habits? He seems able-bodied from here. Unless... " Othello whispers in a low tone, "You think he turned on us? Someone is supplying him in exchange to ruin us perhaps?"
