I moved you according to this plan. The first thing that happens is that one ferocious-looking grimlock that seems to have outrun the rest appears at the opposite side of the bridge. Vug Vang, Valgrim and Bubba can take a shot at him if you like. Then he'll be coming at you.
Vug Vang
Vug readies an action to shoot him once he's on the bridge. Hopefully he'll fall off. :-) At a bare minimum, he'll be flat-footed.
From the Core Rulebook: "If you take damage while using Acrobatics, you must immediately make another Acrobatics check at the same DC to avoid falling or being knocked prone."
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Valgrim slings the grimlock but misses badly. He then drops the sling and picks up his greataxe, waiting for the creature's approach.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Black Tom
Vug's arrow bounces off the grimlock's armor, and he takes Bubba's in stride, crossing the bridge at an amazing speed.
A sound behind you alerts you to the approach of more grimlocks from behind. The bulk of them come following their champion.
You are up (all of you). New map
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Yes, you did.
Thanks for clarification.
Valgrim swings at wounded grimlock in front of him:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Friar Feres
Feres readies his shield and scimitar as he turns to face the grimlocks approaching from behind. The stout priest steps to the side to stand protectively before Vulcan.
"May the light of the Dawnflower guide your arm and bolster your heart!" Feres cries out. A warm radiance bursts from the symbol of the priest's Goddess, washing over his brave companions and filling them with courage.
5-ft step to square Q-16. Standard action to cast Bless: all allies gain a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.
Black Tom
Vulcan's spell gives the grimlock but fails to topple him. He's built like an ox.
Hexed by your unexpected resistance all the grimlocks miss so badly that they almost hit each other.Seriously, three natural 1s in a row, what is that?
More grimlocks approach, treading gingerly (one-quarter speed) over the bridge in order to avoid Acrobatics checks.
Your turn.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Valgrim swings again at the wounded grimlock (-3) in front of him: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21...with +1 from inspire courage and +1 from Bless (no power attack)
Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Is the leader the bold G on the map?
Vug Vang
"Well, let's see how they do without a bridge," Vug suggests with a wicked gleam in her eye.
She pulls out a vial of acid and throws it at the rope bridge just behind the head grimlock, trying to burn through the bridge.
with PBS + inspire courage + bless:
atk 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 27
dmg 1d6 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 11, 4 splash damage (no save)
Black Tom
Wicked move! I'll assume that Bubba and Vug move 5 feet back to avoid the AoO.
Vug's acid hits the bridge behind the grimlock, splattering him and burning a hole that makes one of the ropes holding the bridge snap. The weight of the grimlocks is too much for the bridge and the other rope snaps too, sending the grimlocks plummeting down. To add insult to injury, Valgrim gets an AoO on the frothing grimlock (who is the only one to differ visibly from the rest, apart from the fact that the two grimlocks that just fell off the bridge wield longspears).
The fallen grimlocks are badly hurt but still moving, except for the barbarian, who is just very, very mad.
Bubba, Feres and Vulcan to go.
Black Tom
Sorry, seeing there is no room for Vug to avoid the AoO I'm rolling for it now. Valgrim still has an AoO to take against the barbarian.
Vug takes 11 points from the raging grimlock's axe, just as she flings the vial of acid and sends him tumbling down.
The rope bridge hangs down making an excellent ladder and the fallen grimlocks start to clamber up. The grimlocks stranded across fling a couple of javelins ineffectually.
The grimlocks behind you are armed only with clubs and studded leather. You easily parry their blows, as Bubba's arrow hits one of them in the shoulder. Then they advance on you.
Redid the map in green to point out the difference in height

Your turn, all of you, including Valgrim's bonus attack.
Vug Vang
I figured there was no way to get around the attack of opportunity. Still worth it, though. :-)
"Owooo!" Vug cries out in pain. "Take that, chumps! Valgrim, you should be able to hold them off for a few seconds."
She tries to step away from the edge as she fires an arrow at the grimlocks blocking their retreat.
with PBS + inspire courage + firing into melee:
1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 191d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 10
Bubluka
Bubba drops his bow and draws his rapier, then attacks when the grimlock advances.
Delaying the standard action until the grimlock reaches him
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage (if crit confirmed): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Maintaining Inspire Courage another round
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Damage; 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Valgrim readies an action to strike the climbing grimlock when he comes within range:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
If the AoO misses, can I get that damage roll?
Black Tom
Vug and Bubba kill one of the grimlocks with their combined effort. Feres is busy holding his opponent off.
Valgrim, the grimlock is climbing up at the opposite side. Since Vug burned through the rope bridge right behind him, the stump on your side is too short to be reached from the bottom of the cave.
Valgrim manages to swipe the falling grimlock as he tumbles down, hitting him squarely in the side and turning his armor red (he's wearing a mithril shirt).
Valgrim and Vulcan still to go.
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Valgrim would have then held his greataxe in his left hand, pulled out a handaxe as a move action and thrown it across at one of the grimlocks climbing the ladder to see if he falls.
Do you need a new attack roll or do I keep that 17 I previously rolled? If you need a new roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Valgrim Twin-Axe
Vilcan points aat Feres' opponent whispering a sharp arcane word. A ray of freezing cold air shoots forth freezing the water in the air.
It's a ranged touch attack, still have to roll.

Ooops 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Ahh CRAP!
Vug Vang
Figuring that Bub, Vulcan and Father Feres can finish off the grimlock behind her, Vug takes aim at one of the grimlocks climbing the remains of the rope bridge.
with PBS + Bless + Inspire Courage:
1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 221d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 6
Don't forget -- "Anytime you take damage while climbing, make a Climb check against the DC of the slope or wall. Failure means you fall from your current height and sustain the appropriate falling damage."
Black Tom
Valgrim picks off one of the climbing grimlocks with his handaxe, and as he falls he drags his companion down. Both of them come crashing down and come to rest, unconscious, at the bottom of the debris pile.
Only the chieftain is left, and he manages to scramble up the rope ladder in a single round. The rest of the grimlocks retreat to regroup.
Feres's opponent steps back and flings a tanglefoot bag at him. (Reflex 15).
You are up. There is only the barbarian to shoot at across (looking rather the worse for wear, especially since Vug put an arrow in his back).
Friar Feres
Reflex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
The tanglefoot bag bursts as it hits Feres, entangling his legs in a mass of sticky goo and gluing him to the floor.
Feres is entangled and takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls and a -4 penalty to Dexterity, so his AC is now 14, touch AC 8.
Feres slashes at the entangling goo with his scimitar, trying to scrape off the mess.
Automatic hit; damage 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Black Tom
The grimlocks run for their lives down the tunnel opposite, leaving only one opponent whom you soon overwhelm.
You have each earned yourself 680 xp.
The tunnel is only about 25 feet long and emerges into the large cavern where you descended. Above the opening there is a small ledge (where the grimlocks hid and also where they were shooting at you).
In the tunnel there is a bloodstained burlap sack containing a preserved head of a drow elf female, 200 gp and a magic wand.
The grimlocks have 5 tanglefoot bags, 4 potions and 2 masterwork composite longbows (mighty +2.
This place is eminently defensible, so you might want to rest here.
Happy holidays! I'm not going anywhere, so feel free to keep posting.
Vug Vang
Vug lets out a low whistle as she looks at the bows. "F-for a bunch of blind f-folks, they sure have f-fine taste in bows. They're as good as mine, and I paid a pretty penny, let me tell you!"
After a hard fight, Vug likes to quench her thirst with a great-tasting alchemist elixir of Cure Light Wounds.
