Looks like the boards might finally be fixed. Hope I don't jinx anything saying that.
If people want I can just skip over their actions for right now and assume you all make a break for it. That's fine with me, and I figure that'll be your turn anyway. If not, we can play it out, but for the sake of brevity and getting us moving again I'd be fine with it.

Jon, The Evil DM |

Technically speaking, a few rounds have passed since you left the main foyer, but I didn't feel it was necessary to have Bronze and Junkyard play out a few rounds. For all intents and purposes, let's just say a few rounds have passed but the fight in the basement was a stalemate; they've gotten into heavy cover and you can't get a good shot without exposing yourselves, but they're in the same boat. A few volleys of gunfire have gone back and forth, but no one's been hit (or if they have, they successfully negated the damage).

Ya know ....
The more I consider the implications of your changes to overcasting, the more I realize that it is a really positive thing for the game.
I like it a lot.

Jon, The Evil DM |

Yeah, I felt like it really needed a change. The previous system to me felt kind of convoluted and needlessly complex, not to mention didn't make overcasting seem all that difficult in a lot of ways. A character decently built to resist Drain could overcast quite a bit without expecting any sort of problem. I thought this system would make it seem more important to choose when or when not to overcast, but also keep overcasting as more powerful when it needed to be. Overall, I don't think it made spellcasting weaker but it makes it more cautious.
I'm glad you like it, I'm pretty happy with it myself.

I apologise for assuming actions for fellow party members, but I think we all want to get out of here! Bogatir's taking his action as others run behind him, and then runs towards the hole, suppressing the guards as he does so. I hope that's ok, and I did double check the Suppressive Fire rules, but if something is wrong, let me know!
Thanks!

Hey all, posting this in all my games to let people know I'll be away for a few days. My family is headed to camp later today, and I won't have Internet or my computer while I'm there. I should be back and posting Friday afternoon/evening (Eastern Time), but please push the game as needed, botting my character if you need to do so. Thanks!

Jon, The Evil DM |

Ismail 'Bogatir' Aslanov |

Hi all!
I'm just warning you, I'm about to finish my final bachelor's degree project, so my posting might be patchy in the next week-ish. I'll still try and post, but it's possible that a day or two might pass where I'd be unable to do so, so feel free to bot me!
Bogatir can mostly drive the van, if need be for me to act, while Derek takes a break, and take the occasional potshot. Or, more accurately, potblast.

Alter |

Yea... I've been trying to figure out what I could do, thanks for the suggestion Gm.
Computer: 12d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3, 2, 5, 5, 6, 5, 5, 6, 5) = 53 = 3 hits
I'll make an RP post once we've resolved this.

Jon, The Evil DM |

Alter, it's possible you could be running into vehicles with electromagnetic shielding; all of the components of the car that you could possibly be targeting are encased within a shielded box likely on the bed of the vehicle, which prevents you from hacking into their systems at all. However, these boxes are, by necessity due to how they're constructed, very fragile. As such, they're almost always housed under the car to protect from most damage, especially if they're built onto a vehicle for Shadowrunners or corporate goons. Even the smallest amount of serious damage will render the shielding non-functional, and give someone access to the previously hidden systems it was protecting.
While it would be difficult, someone could skip rounds underneath the vehicle to damage the box specifically, which would then allow you access to their systems to do with them what you will. If anyone who has rolled to shoot this round wants to attempt this instead, feel free. I'll need you to roll a new Shooting roll at -4, however. It will just replace your previous action this initiative pass.

Hey guys! Quick update, I mentioned I will be scarcely posting this week, as I'm just about wrapping up with university, period.
In addition, my laptop had honorably passed away, luckily the day after I handed in my final report. I'll be looking into getting it fixed, but for now I'll be posting scarcely, if I find somewhere to do it from. I'd ask you to bot me, if possible, and I'll try and get on with the game ASAP.
Cheers, and sorry!

Jon, The Evil DM |

It's all good for the both of you. Bogatir, if you haven't gotten back by the time the others post, I'll bot you to get us moving.
Alter, are you looking for more specific information? I can give you more, you rolled well enough if there's something specific you actually want to know from me.
As for everyone, you can open the back doors of the van to fire out if you wish, although then they can fire on you directly as opposed to the ban.

Took the liberty of rolling for Bogatir and Junkyard to get us moving again. The lead car is still running but not in great shape, while the other two remain unharmed. Also, I've decided to use the rules in War! for direct-fire grenades. While much of War! is... poorly designed nonsense, to be frank, these rules make sense at least when using an airburst link. Thrown grenades will still scatter, but any using a launcher and an airburst link detonate on impact. Misses with an airburst grenade will scatter as a normal grenade with 0 net hits.

Blue, N.K.A. |

I will be out of reach from friday night to tuesday afternoon. I am going to my sister's house and then on to watch the eclipse from inside the path of totality. I may have occasional access on saturday, but I am not planning on posting anything.

The thought crossed my mind. :)

Hey guys, this is a blanket notice going out to all of my games here on the boards. While I am thankfully outside the path of Hurricane Harvey, current projections for Hurricane Irma are sending it barreling up the coast of Florida to sweep much of the eastern coast of the United States. As I live directly on the ocean, I'm already gearing up for a potential evacuation at the moment. While hopefully all I get is a lot of rainfall, it's likely that by the time Irma hits Maryland it will still be at least a Category 3 storm, if not worse. I will have my laptop and such in the case of an evacuation, but I likely won't be able to post with any real schedule or frequency. Moreover, given that I live more or less directly on the ocean, it's more likely than not that if I'm forced to evacuate there will not be a home for me to come back to after the storm passes. The island is not built to withstand that kind of storm, and the last time something anywhere near that deadly swept through, it made an inlet where there used to be a road. My point being, if I'm hit by the hurricane it's very likely I will be off the boards for a long while, or at least my posting will be sparse and intermittent.
I'm sure I'm not the only one following the storm on the news, but I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on my status. It's likely the storm, if it hits me at all, will make landfall here early next week. If you see on the news that the storm has hit Maryland and you don't hear from me, that's probably why. I just wanted to put this message up now as I'm prone to losing power during storms and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging.
Thanks for understanding,
Jon

I'm still waiting on Alter and Bronze for this round. After conferring with Junkyard, he had trouble getting back into the swing of the game due to a number of things, and he'll unfortunately be leaving us. While I might consider picking up a new person at some point—either by having them serve as a contact one of you made while outside the group (so as to vouch for them) or some other way—for the time being I'd like to get us out of this combat.

Jon, The Evil DM |

No worries! I'm more just posting this reminders more frequently because I'm trying to help us pick up a little speed; at the very least, a significant portion of the blame for us slowing down so much is on me, so I just want us to get to a comfortable place in terms of update speed.

I can only assume Alter is busy with the aforementioned wedding, so I took control of her for the round. Combined with her hacking, Derek's driving, and Bronze's grenade the pursuing vehicles are all off your tail. From here, you're free to do as you wish; Derek has the information to deliver the egg to the Johnson if you want to, but of course you could always do something else with it.
Just let me know what you want to do from here.

Jon, The Evil DM |

I'm moving us back to the hideout tomorrow, I'm too exhausted to post tonight. I did a ~7 hour driving circuit for work today, and I just can't focus enough to write this up right now. It'll be my first update tomorrow. If I'm lucky, I'll have time to do it before I head out to get the car serviced so it'll be up in the morning. If not, expect it in the evening.

Jon, The Evil DM |

If you guys want to try and trace the bug, just roll Hacking for me; I'll assume you take the van out and about to avoid drawing detection to your safe house for the time being. If you just want to analyze the bug without trying to trace the signal, that'll be a Hardware test.
Other than that, we can move on to the drop if you're all ready.

Ismail 'Bogatir' Aslanov |

I'm fine with doing the checks to learn more about the bug and the pursuers, but I wouldn't mind moving forward towards the drop!
Regarding my post, I was hoping to capture Bogatir's condition with it, as he is entirely 'too old for this s*%!', and busted to boot. Not meaning to draw away from the tracking and tracing, just felt like writing it!

Hey guys, quick update, I'm having quite the busy week, as I'm trying to move into a new place, work full time, and finalise things with my university. I'll get a post in soon, sorry about my delay!

Jon, The Evil DM |

Hey, so I'm just letting you know I'm still around. I had a lot of stuff prevent me from posting regularly, but I intended to update this today. That said, the stupid bug on the Paizo forums logged me out twice today in the middle of editing a post and it went away. I'll get a post up tomorrow, promise. It happened in another game too, which I'll also get to tomorrow. I'm irritated with it, but I'll make this work tomorrow.

A heads up for all my games; I'm going to be camping from Monday to Wednesday, so I won't be able to post. I should have Internet on my phone, but posting from my phone is a real chore (even ignoring the logout issue I still have on mobile) so I will be silent for a few days. I may keep up if I can get Paizo to reliably work on my phone, but if not I'll catch up when I get back.
