I think that Bodak 1 was adjacent to Arishat at the start of this turn, am I correct? If not, please disregard this post.
In response to the attack on Barel, Arishat lashes out with her spear at the bodaks. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees Barel fall as the bodak backs away, and her mouth sets in a thin line.

Tavar's attack misses narrowsly, but his deity ensures that Barel's brush with death is mercifully brief. The Raven Queen doesn't want him yet.
Moving like the lightning he embodies, Kidlat dances around the bodak to put himself between the creature and Thom before slicing expertly into the undead. He hits and delivers a nasty wound, suffering somewhat himself as he does so.

Determined to get Barel back on his feet as fast as possible, Arishat dispenses her own brand of help before urging Lynore on. The assassin strikes twice at her behest, but only the first blow lands. The bodak wobbles but shows no signs of falling just yet, although clearly very weak.

In my previous active post (the last one in which I actually did anything), I tried to get the key from around the downed Bodak's neck...was I successful?
Barel comes fully awake, and given his state 10 seconds ago, he is suprisingly well! He clears his head and checks the Bodak beside him for the key. He stands up quickly, and yells loudly while charging the other Bodak and swinging his hammer upon its head!
Minor action (if necessary): Take key from fallen Bodak
Minor action: Second Wind (two surges with Cloak of Walking Wounded)

You have the key in your hand. I did note it, but forgot to narrate. Also, Arishat is right about the no dazed and weakened. Nativity play brewing and brains as jelly as a result.
Barel rises, his fingers closing around the hard-won mithril key and exacts sweet, emphatic revenge on the bodak. The hammer grinds it deep into the ground, with no possibility of reprieve.

"Just move as quickly as you can out of here. I am fine now, just a quick bout of death...I am over it now. Get moving!"

As Tavar and Barel discuss healing, the vats activate with alarming speed. Dark energy from the black vat roils maliciously towards Barel and Lynore.
The two vats attack two pcs randomly each turn v Ref. It is possible for a pc to be targeted by both vats. Range - within sight
If the dark one hits, targets are slowed (se).
If the green one hits, targets are dazed (se).
If both hit, a target is subject to a secondary attack v Fort. On hit target is stunned (se).
1d20+20=23 - Black vat v Barel. Hits.
1d20+20=30 - Black vat v Lynore. Hits.
3d8=12
12 damage to Barel and Lynore and they are both slowed (se)
VATS NOTE A pc may make a DC18 Acrobatics check to avoid the attack as an immediate interrupt. On a success, they take half damage and are not dazed or slowed.
Alternatively, a pc may make a DC23 Arcana check to disrupt the flow of planar energy as a standard action. Each success reduces the attack roll by -2.
Before anyone can do anything sensible to stop it, the green vat swirls and wraps looming tendrils around Kidlat, dragging him forcibly into its maw and out of sight. In his place is a battered, but still functional halfling, who clearly has no idea where he is or how he got there.
