Melinda directs small changes with a gentle word, a brush of her hand, and small mental images. When it gets to the point where she can see nothing wrong with Zaiobe's actions but the brush of Alaric's mind in hers indicates something it's quite perfect, she stops Zaiobe with a smile, a hand moving the harpy's mouth off of Alaric. COMBAT – ROUND 2
Three translucent, ghostly figures emerge from the stone pillar, their faces distorted by wrath into hideous masks. They stare with anger at Hrunndalf, the closest living thing to them, and their hands reach for him ... but something stops them before they get very far past the pool of water, and they come no further, unable to reach him.

All three of her shots hit, and the Revenant, pierced through the spine, falls to the ground and ceases to move.
"See saab olema pikk päev täis kõndides surnud, ma ei saa lihtsalt öelda," sighs Kalimac as he lowers his lance and urges Attatoq into a charge. Rushing past Rhost, he thrusts his lance into the floating apparition attacking Hrunndalf. His lance hits and rips a bit more substance off of the creature. He ends his charge just past it, hoping to set up flanking.
Lio moves up in order to create a burst of nettles behind the undead. She catches all four of the apparitions in the acidic plants.
As Hrunndalf is drained of strength, he instinctively extends a hand to ward off the spectral assailant. To his surprise, a surge of positive energy escapes from within him, races through his arm and into the ghostly body of his attacker, injuring her, all within the blink of an eye. Then he steps back and follows up with Þrumublað, but his strikes are slow and sluggish. However, he calls on the power of the Terra Cotta Warrior to aid him, and one of his strikes slashes through the monster.
Shalelu fires two more arrows through the floating woman, tearing off small pieces of her substance.
Alaric advances five feet closer to the action and channels, catching the four undead, who shudder under the effects of positive energy.
Zaiobe’s brace of arrows also slice through the monster’s ectoplasm.
The ghostly woman reaches out through Hrunndalf’s armor once again, hoping to destroy him.
Hrunndalf takes 4 Strength damage.
But she has picked one of the strongest among you, and he does not fall.
Mel sends a shining bead of fire to explode behind the undead. The three wrathful spirits from the tree perish in the flames.
Rhost continues to attack the Undead ... and with a final blow of his hammer through her substance, she dissipates.

DUNGEON CRAWL MODE
Investigation of the cavern using detect magic determines that the pool in which the stone pillar stands is surrounded, for unknown reasons, by a spirit barrier - almost the opposite of the anti-life shell you encountered earlier, the spirit barrier blocks the passage of incorporeal creatures.
You are unable to determine the reason the water faintly glows.
On the corpse of the Revenant, you find:

TOMB
Examination determines that the golden door is locked but not trapped, and picking the lock proves to be an easy matter. Beyond you find an octagonal room illuminated by flickering firelight. Red demonic faces leer from the walls against a painted background of midnight blue. In the center of the room, seeming almost to swim in a sea of night, a bier of blue-painted stone bears a motionless skeleton, its face concealed beneath a golden mask.
When, after a bit of tense anticipation, the skeleton fails to do anything but lie there, you discover that the room contains:

The stone door lets out on a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. Hundreds of burial niches have been carved into the rock walls - you are in a series of catacombs. You find plenty of bones, but no skulls; all of the heads have been removed.
The catacombs are also crammed with a fortune in funerary goods. As you travel, you find:

After traveling for a few hundred feet along its length, you find your way is blocked by another invisible barrier. Just beyond it, two huge demonic skull faces with short tusks have been carved into the stone, one on each wall of the passage.

After the fight, Hrunndalf drops down to one knee to ease the burden of his suddenly very heavy armor. He starts casting more Lesser Restorations to restore his strength.
