<I was more joking about the indecent and risqué act of holding hands ... no matter. I'll give it a go now, then, rather than wait longer. Now, this requires physical contact, and I can only manage it once a day, at least for now ...>

Zaiobe takes hold of Melinda's hand and gets a look of concentration on her face.

Alaric and Melinda:
Alaric and Melinda are put in mental contact with

someone who is somewhere safe and warm, curled up, listening to a comforting, rhythmic sound ...

The sound is recognizable as a heartbeat.

Myri turns her head over her shoulder towards Ameiko and Buttersnips and over her towel gives them a look of the long suffering.

She willingly accedes to your unspoken demands, and turns her body with undisguised eagerness, her moans never stopping, her body always moving against yours.

When you penetrate her doubly, she shrieks with pleasure.

Taken. Claimed. Yours.

It isn't until this very moment that everything clicks in place for Lio. Lio has belonged to you from the first time she ever say you, the first time she heard you voice, she was spellbound. Only now does she truly realize that you belong to her, as well.

When you climax again, and Lio makes very certain that you do, he finally lets go of restraint, your muscles milking him as he comes inside you, his voice joining yours in pleasure.

When he's regained control of his limbs, he carefully removes the toy, his touch showing how much he reveres you. Lio turns you onto your back again, spreading your legs, and sliding up between them over your body. He shape changes while still inside you, back into her normal form. Her, now, much smaller and lighter, body, lying on top of you, breathing heavy. Lio unties the blindfold. Stares at you with amazement, her blue eyes seek yours. She has claimed you, and you desired it. You let her. You wanted her. Her words soft, revealing her depth of feeling for you "you're mine." She smiles, shyly. Still awed. She will always feel awe at having earned your love, your trust.

She swims close, rubbing against you, the fine scales of her tail gliding against your skin as she gets in your way purposefully, smiling mischief. She bobs in front of you, her hair fanning out in a pale echo of your golden halo. She challenges you to a game of tag. And after the briefest of kisses, she taps you on the shoulder, you're it. She darts off, a teasing glance behind her. Daring you to catch her.

Her hands trace up your sides, then down your front, like you spending extra time on the breasts, and not neglecting their undersides. Across your stomach, then out to your hips. She kneels down as she caresses the outsides of your legs, and then first one foot, then the other, with a quick pause to suck on your toes.

Lio is very observant, even in the dark. She is gentle with your ears, until you start to move down, at which point she runs her fingers along your ears, capturing their tips in an erotic pinch, before letting go.

As you kneel before her, her hands find their way into your hair. She tugs, ever so gently, at your tresses. When you suck on her toes, she squirms in an interesting way. Perhaps no one has ever sucked on her toes before. You certainly know that her skin's a bit sensitive now, without the scars. And you get the feeling she kind of liked it.

ROUND FOUR

Combat:

Lio turns the flaming sphere towards to the Undead by Rhost.

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 combat casting
1d20 ⇒ 12 reflex (bad guy)
1d20 ⇒ 10 spell resistance (bad guy)
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 7 fire damage

.

COMBAT – ROUND 4

Kalimac slashes at the nearest undead abomination with his sword. He directs Attatoq to savage the same monster with his powerful jaws. But although Kalimac manages to hit the monster twice, neither blow manages to penetrate its bloodless flesh far enough to do damage.

Liothonae rolls the flaming sphere towards the same undead creature, and more of its substance and consumed by magic fire.

Hrunndalf attempts to unleash sharp-edged ire upon the undead creature remaining before him, but all three of his mighty blows fail to land.

The undead creature standing in the fire in front of Rhost strikes at him again.

Rhost takes 25 hit points of damage, DR accounted for.

Rhost’s Fort save DC 17: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Rhost suffers no additional ill effects.

Alaric channels, this time to heal his comrades.

Everyone heals 22 points of damage.

Mel looks at the remaining undead and picks away at one of them with the wand. The one in front of Rhost finally perishes in flames.

Myri's eyes harden and the left edge of her upper lip curls as she watches the undead fall. She continues to turn the remaining one into an "arrow cushion", striking it with two successive shots.

Undeterred, Rhost walks forward and swings his Earth Breaker through the final Headless Undead in front of Hrunndalf.

All the way through. It dies with a satisfying crunch.

Combat rounds are over.

Current damage:
Rhost -62
Hrunndalf unknown effect
Kalimac -28, unknown effect
Alaric -1

DUNGEON CRAWL MODE - POST COMBAT

So that I know going forward, by the way, please let me know who among you is carrying light sources and what they are.

WARDENS' TOWERS

The towers that the undead emerged from are octagonal structures half-buried within the stone walls of the cavern. They rise twenty feet above the cavern floor, and inside each, a narrow stair along the walls leads to a small balcony that allows observers to look out of the tower's slit windows. Again in each, a dark corridor leads deeper within the rock.

While you investigate the towers, both Hrunndalf and Kalimac's flesh begins to putrefy where the monsters struck them.

Kalimac takes 1d6 ⇒ 1 Charisma damage and 1d6 ⇒ 2 Constitution damage.

Hrunndalf takes 1d6 ⇒ 4 Charisma damage and 1d6 ⇒ 3 Constitution damage.

Heal or Knowledge Arcana DC 22:
They are suffering from the affliction known as mummy rot. The disease is slow, but this will happen to them each day until they are cured. The only known cure is successfully casting both remove curse and remove disease within 1 minute of each other upon the victim.

CHAMBER OF REPOSE

The dark corridors within the towers lead back to rooms that contain funerary biers. They appear to be the undead monsters' homes, of a sort. Pictographs of the dead rising from their graves to attack the living are carved and painted on the walls - on a twilit tundra on the left side of each room, before moonlit mountains in the center, and on a starry snowfield on the right.

The biers contain funerary items and grave goods, such as bracelets and rings of copper and turquoise, beaten copper burial masks, and spirit fetishes of carved bone.

I will list the value of these items when at least one person tells me they are taking them; this is not because they are Horribly Cursed or anything, but I wanted to check first in case people had moral qualms about taking grave goods.

There are no further exits out of these rooms. Only the passage across the bridge, and the crevasse itself, leading to a tunnel lower down, offer further progress.

CREVASSE

As Kalimac and Attatoq discovered, the bridge itself is blocked by some kind of magical effect you cannot pass. The effect seems confined to the bridge, and does not block the rest of the crevasse.

Knowledge Arcana DC 26:
The effect seems to be some variant of an Antilife Shell.

This seems to offer three prospects for exiting the area:

Dispelling the effect by some means and crossing the bridge,

Getting the Caravan across the Crevasse to the other side without using the bridge - a task you have accomplished before, but which take many hours and leaves the Caravan vulnerable while you do so,

Lowering the Caravan down into the Crevasse and taking the tunnel, which will also take many hours and leave the Caravan vulnerable while you do so.

If it affects your decision, the base of the Crevasse and the tunnel that leads from it are not smooth and worked like the floor higher up; they are rough, with many ledges and drops that often exceed 20 feet in height or depth. Getting the Caravan through that will be slow going indeed.

As you ponder the decision, an ape-like creature emerges from the tunnel lower down. It stands like a man, yet is half again the height of most men and covered with a coat of thick white fur. Glancing up and seeing you, it gets a frightened expression on its face and flees back into the tunnel, climbing over the cliffs and drops with practiced ease even in its fright.

Knowledge Nature DC 19:
It is a yeti, one of the mysterious and rarely seen denizens of the loneliest and tallest mountain peaks. They usually dwell in small tribes atop their distant mountains, where they are sheltered from contact with most other races. They have a fearsome reputation, and many quake in terror before their appearance on the rare occasions when they are seen, but they are usually not particularly more violent than any other creatures when they are left alone.

Knowledge Nature DC 24:
A yeti's body generates intense cold, and they are vulnerable to fire.

Knowledge Nature DC 29:
They generally speak the Aklo language.

Knowledge Nature DC 34:
They are capable of rending foes with their powerful claws.

Finding that you like what she is doing with your toes, she spends a bit more time on them.

Eventually, her hands reach up to trace the taut swell of your buttocks, tracing their gentle curve with her fingertips. Then down the backs of your thighs, the backs of your knees, down to your calves.

Then with her mouth, she begins exploring the insides of your legs, working her way gradually up to where they join.

ditto on the wand of cure light. The one Lio carries has 30 charges left.

Lio has a bullseye lantern which she offers the use of, for light. She will give it to a PC first, if any of them would like to borrow it for a non-magical source of light. She in turn, casts "light" upon the end of her Staff of Journeys. If anyone else needs light cast, she will do so if they let her know. light currently lasts 90 minutes

She asks Shae, Jorun, Ulf, Zaiobe, and Uksahkka if they'd like one or more light spells anywhere near them, and upon what they would like it cast upon.

None of the funerary goods detect as magic. The "Antilife Shell" blocking the bridge does detect as such.

Caravan Resolve Checks: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 261d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 261d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 301d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

Fourth Resolve Check Fortune Teller Re-roll: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29

The matter requires some discussion, and Koya is asked to use her foresight to see if it will result in a curse before the matter is resolved, but eventually, no one back at the Caravan seems to have an issue with taking the treasures of an evil cult that brought the dead back to hideous unlife. The general feeling seems to be that they weren't truly respecting the dead all that much anyway.

Charisma damage does not remove your ability to cast any spells. Ability damage does not actually reduce an ability, but rather applies a penalty to the skills and statistics that are based on that ability. For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability, apply a –1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the relevant ability. Damage to your Charisma score causes you to take penalties on Charisma-based skill checks. This penalty also applies to any spell DCs based off Charisma and the DC to resist your channeled energy. A character with a Charisma score of 0 is not able to exert himself in any way and is unconscious.

You are thinking of Ability Drain. Ability drain actually reduces the relevant ability score.

In addition, even if you had suffered from Ability Drain, a magical item such as a headband only offers a temporary ability bonus for the first 24 hours. Temporary ability bonuses, like ability damage, are limited in their effects. Among other things, they do not affect what the maximum level of spells you are able to cast based on an ability score, or your spells per day. Briefly borrowing a headband would therefore have no effect, and would actually render it much less useful for Liothonae for a full day.
