In the early afternoon, you are instructed to go to the bluff known as the Wall of Seven Winds, a 120-foot vertical cliff between New Harbor and the Grand Pavilion where the winds are known to always be particularly strong.

The wind whips across the curved, sheer cliff that surrounds the cove, rolling the deep water below into a white-capped froth. Several dozen boats bob on the rough water, their decks crowded with eager spectators focused on the cliff top.

Wong directs himself - and any other from the group willing - to the place their are instructed to go. A nice place, in his opinion, though he's a bit afraid that the spectators might have an accident on those boats if they get too carried away by the competition, the alcohol, or both.

Darnak follows the others.


You find Marthysan the Righteous standing before a small crowd atop the bluff. Several dozen boats are anchored in the cove at the base of the cliff, from which a larger gathering of onlookers eagerly watches the top of the wall.

A creature knocked from the face of the Wall of Seven Winds falls into the wind-tossed water below, taking applicable falling damage based on its height up the cliff face. Any creature who is knocked prone while on the cliff face falls. A plummeting creature can attempt a Reflex save to grab hold of the wall and stop its fall.

Among the visitors on the boats at the cliff’s base are two sorcerers whose job is simply to cast feather fall on any contestant who falls from the wall.

Marthysan gives each of you a pair of silk slippers (slippers of spider climbing) and instructs them to put them on. Your fight is to take place on the side of the Wall of Seven Winds, where they are to face off against Orometsu Yasi, known as the White Warrior, as well as a band of monks to even the odds. Orometsu is a stoic Tian-Min woman dressed entirely in white, with polished ivory-toned armor and a helm interwoven with the intricate braids of black hair upon her head; she bows nobly at all of you before walking over the edge of the cliff, climbing down the wall to a height of 60 feet, and stopping to wait for the PCs to engage her.

Marthysan makes sure you’re aware of the safety precautions in place and asks that they return their slippers after the battle. He also warns that anyone who falls from the wall and does not catch herself is eliminated from this event. Also, all forms of flight is banned from this fight.

You may cast 10 min/level or longer spells before combat. Also, NO FLYING.

Wong has to fight the impulse to spread his wings, and instead checks that the slippers keep him firmly attached to the wall. He chants and prays, invoking divine help on himself and his companions.

Your last two shots hit Orometsu Yasi and she also falls off the cliff unconscious. However, she hits the water and everyone below in the boats are gasping in shock.

Inside he is angry at the mages below who are supposed to be preventing fatality to the unconscious fallen foes. He looks to see what they are doing in all this.

As soon as the match is called X dismisses his invisibility and pulls out his broom of flying from its sheath on his back and swoops down to the water to take the unconscious Orometsu from Deathless and ferry her up to the cliff and healers. He will make 2 more trips for the other two monks in the assumption they can be rescued.

Here's your shoes," he hands them over to whoever he's suppose to. "I think I'll take the long way down." He then proceeds back down the way he came.


Your party begins to user the monks and woman up. Everyone cheers for you guys. Marthysan comes up and informs you, Something's wrong here, they should have feather fell. The sorceress that was responsible is no where to be found. Unfortunately, you have no time and need to get to your tournament match for today, it's time to see if you move onto the next round. We will handle this and thank you."

Marthysan thanks you all for returning the slippers and awards you with a ring of feather falling.

And here I thought we were already fighting the tournament match, lol.

Once all seems clear, Wong can't help but think about the poisoned food and drink and the coincidence with the sorceress not being at her post. He decides not to raise a scandal, though, and proceeds to the match with his companions.


The roar of the crowd in the Grand Pavilion is deafening, even compared to the tumult yesterday. Where previously the fight stage was bare, it now sports three pillars of wood and iron, each supporting two wooden platforms connected by rope ladders.

In the center of the arena stand three tower shaped scaffolds constructed of wood and metal. Tangles of rope ladders connect two fighting platforms, one 20 feet above the ground and the other 40 feet above it. Both levels of the towers are identical and utilize the same map.

The map will show each floor of the tower. If you’re having a hard time understanding it, let me know. Make sure you remember to roll performances when appropriate, I will do my best to remind you if you qualify for any.

Combat Performance

The Emissary permits your team and your opponent 1 minute to prepare for battle. 10 rounds. You may cast any spell, but make sure you take note on what round and what it’s duration is when the combat starts. Combat starts on Round 11, yes targets still can be FF if you beat them in initiative. Also, you are not allowed to fly in this combat as it is a test of skill.

Grand Pavilion Three Towers Map You will need to specify what square you want to move to.

A very large woman moves up to the larger pillar and begins climbing to the very top and looks down at you all as she appears very ready for this fight.

Deathless waits a couple rounds for buffs and then climbs up to stand next to the very large woman.

"So...all of that," he gestures in a circling motion with his index finger, "is pretty fantastic. That whole she-giant thing you got going'. Nice!" He ends giving her two thumbs up.

So just to make sure, technically no one can move on the battle field until round 11. So is that what Deathless is doing is climbing up to the top as your rounds actions?

If you take a look at the picture, it doesn't display the ladders too well but you can see that they are on the outside of the wooden platforms as rope ladders attacked to the platform. These are simple DC0 to climb and you can't take 10 since you're in combat. So if you have negative climb modifiers you will have to roll.

She was allowed to go onto the platform at the start of combat because of various reasons.
