Up next, Hou Wong Xia!
Wong picks some arrows and proceeds to let them fly true to the heart of the beast.
Hou Wong Xia kills the undead with a hail of arrows.
Out of Combat! The crowd goes wild. The monks come in to usher you out of the ring and the Oni comes to collect the remains of the undead.
They award you with a CL 15 potion of stoneskin.
All competitors progressing to the next round will be treated to a feast at Yon's Noodle House tonight. Is there anything you would like to do before you head over there?
As the fear fades the Shinobi fades back into existence and gives a nod of approval at Wong. He retrieves and cleans his wakazashi before sheathing it and following the others out of the arena. He would like to watch the other competitors matches if there are still any left going on to get an idea of what to expect from them before the feast.
You watch a fight, the last one of the night. It's a man all wrapped in black and behaves a lot like a Ninja. He faces off vs. 4 monks and takes them all down. You notice that he uses kyoketsu shoge's for melee and ranged weapon and he throws alchemical bombs.
Wong watches carefully the black pajama man fighting. "Interesting."
After the fight ends, he makes notice they should eat something and go to bed. "Tomorrow's another big day, guys."
After the day’s events—32 official matches as well as many exhibition fights and tests of skill—draw to a close, competitors progressing to the next round are treated to a great feast. Long tables filled with food and wine are set about the pavilion grounds while the crowds are entertained with drumming and dancing. As soon as the sun sets, the Emissary’s monks put on an impressive fireworks display over the cove.
Your party meets up at the noodle house where you see a decent crowd of people still. You hear that there were 32 teams that qualified for tomorrow's rounds. Some of the people in the noodle house have been disqualified but will be staying to watch the tournament. During the evening, a fine wine is being served to all contestants still in the tournament.
X silently eats the meal with his companions looking between them as they reflect on the first day of the tournament. He is willing to converse some or simply seek rest if they all wish.
X looks for the ninja bomb thrower after eating a bowl of noodles and seeks him out. If found he approaches and gives a respectful hand sign.
"Masterful. You are strong."
Deathless is his usual annoying self at the noodle house, bragging, rude comments, etc,,,
Trying to calm down Deathless, as always, Wong gets stressed - as always.
"Come one, man... You'll have a lot of fighting tomorrow as well. Maybe you can break all those wooden boards tomorrow" he adds, trying to attract some of Deathless's aggro to himself and avoid being thrown out from the place.
"No kiddin' there, lad. Thirty-two teams left. At least we're not havin' ta fight all of 'em." The dwarf avoids the wine but takes a bite of food.
While eating your meals you'll notice a woman you remember introducing herself as Risha and four men are sitting with an intimidating and scar covered hobgoblin, all drinking from their own wineskins and turning down offers of food or drink from the monks serving the feast.
X watches the group and they turn down free drink and food. Perhaps it was nothing but his noting it perked his suspicion. He went to get a cup of wine and examined it closely.
Deathless notices the group and heads over, drinks in each hand. "Hey!" he addresses Risha as if it is an introduction, "You came back for me! Man! Heaven must be a real place to have sent a woman like you."
Wong palms his face. "Oh, dear...
X sniffs the wine first then dips his small finger into it stirring it about the bottom of the cup before carefully removing his mouth cover and tasting it.
Shinobi thinks this wine is poisoned. You don't know the name of the poison , but you suspect it has properties to weaken peoples str and dex over a course of every hour for 24 hours. Most won't realize their poisoned until 4 hours after consumption.
Risha snarles a little at Deathless. "Oh it's you. Can you not? I'm with guests." She looks over at the large hobgoblin. The hobgoblin crosses his arms staring at Deathless with judging eyes.
Deathless looks over to the large hobgoblin and then bursts out laughing. After the initial laughing he says, "You!? Him!? It looks like he's more interested in spending time with a dogslicer! Ya'know but not the healthy kind of 'spending time', definitely the unhealthy aggressive kind, where the affection is a bit one sided and there is a lot of deep rooted anger..." Deathless continues to describe, in detail with hands demonstrating and emphasizing his points, a very unhealthy abusive relationship.
X frowns a moment then pretends to drink the wine but does not let it pass his lips. He looks about for a official of the tournament. He also moves swiftly to Wong side and whispers in his ear. "Do not react. Poison in wine."
"We're not together" She abruptly says then grumbles to herself. She shakes her head no. "It's gonna be a pleasure to beat you in the ring if you get far enough. I heard you won your match today. Maybe we can settle this the right way." She has a snarl about her face.
The hobgoblin just seems to be watching in silence with slight amusement in his eyes.
"Ah." Too many new things come into the fray. The wine. The girl. Are they related? "A mysterious alchemist appears and suddenly the wine is poisoned..." Then the girl reveals her true feelings - which weren't really hidden. "Settle? Was there something to settle, to begin with?"
Wong nods slightly to let clear he's understood. He'll have to find a proper prayer to deal with this, but that'll have to be tomorrow, or they'll have to look for someone with scrolls.
He thinks of going immediately, but follows X's indications. "Don't react. He's up to something."
Deathless hold up a hand in a stop position, "...Wait...Are you mackin' on blades-for-a-bed here or me? 'Cause you are sending some seriously mixed signals. First you seemed perturbed about not bein' with Scarface here, now you're talking' about pleasure when beating me? I'm flattered and all but I don't know if you have the fortitude for this," he gestures in a displaying fashion at himself, "I've got the stamina and enthusiasm of an Iomadaian crusader at the Worldwound. Though, admittedly, it ends just as quickly. Probably like a couple minutes longer than this guy!" Deathless has moved over next to the hobgoblin at this point. With a drink in hand he holds up his other in provocation for a high-five to the hobgoblin. "Am I right, bud!? Ehh!?" clearly thinking he has made a solid jest.
X keeps Deathless in the corner of his vision as he nods to Wong and then makes his way slowly over to Darnak to whisper the same to him as he did to Wong. He despised such indiscriminate tactics as poisoning the wine anyone might drink even if it was not lethal. A poisoner should be precise not a barbarian swinging a weapon about blindly. After making sure Darnak understood he went and politely tapped Deathless on the shoulder with his hand. "Actions speak louder than words. Let the dogs bark without sense into the night and we will find rest elsewhere."
Darnak simply nods before scanning the room nonchalantly as he puts his food down and wipes his hands on a piece of cloth.

The hobgoblin's face starts to go from amused to annoyed as Shinobi walks up.
Risha responds to Deathless, "I don't even want to imagine." She gets up and walks away.
Deathless turns to X with his hand still raised for the 'high-five', "I mean...that was pretty good right? After a few moments of awkward waiting, in which I assume X does not high-five, Deathless smacks his own raised hand with his other "Self-five!""So! Censored, what was it you were going on about with dogs barking up trees?"
"Come sit with Wong and Darnak." Assuming he follows when they are all close together he speaks softly, his lips concealed so that they can not be read. "There is poison in the wine. Someone seeks to weaken the competition. Should we warn officials or merely seek our beds?"
Deathless shrugs, "I mean, if it weakens our competition, then I'm pretty okay with it."
"It can weaken us also, Deathless..." says Wong with his hand on his face.
"Eeehhhh.." Deathless exhales as he turns his hand back and forth a few times. "Look, if we want the responsible people punished for this poisoning we are likely to have to do it ourselves. I mean, I've been a complete anus and the officials are leaving me alone. Thing is, that sounds like a lot of work that I'm not getting paid for, sooo...." Deathless trails off as he reaches for his wine glass.
X silently stares at Deathless as he reaches for his wine glass...filled with poison.
"I will retire for the night."
As he gets up from the table he slowly fades from view, disappearing into invisibility. He makes his ways to his room, writes a short unsigned note that poison has been used indiscriminately on competitors in the wine tonight and slips it into a location an official would find it.
Darnak remains silent as he watches the conversation unfold. As X rises and takes his leave, Darnak gives a nod to him and rises himself. "The lad's got it right... on all accounts. Mornin' comes early. Might want ta catch up on a bit of rest, lads." The dwarf then takes his leave as well.
As he arrives at his room, he proceeds to heal himself of his wounds before turning in.
Your party heads to bed.

Everyone goes to bed and sleeps the night away. Morning comes and you prepare your spells for the day.
DAY TWO
Dawn comes, and the Emissary’s monks walk from tent to tent with hot tea and bowls of rice porridge sweetened with sticks of sugarcane. New flags fly above the pavilion and the arena is set for the next event. The number of remaining contestants is half the number who began yesterday, but many of those who were eliminated now fill the grandstands, making the crowd seem even more overwhelming.
You do not fight until late morning today, and can spend the morning watching other contestants compete. Between bouts, you may participate in another contest of skill—archery this time—or explore the island.

X suspiciously checks the breakfast for signs of tampering.
X will attempt the archery contest though it is not his specialty by any means.
"One can not succeed without effort."
Deathless joins the crowd during the matches and contests, jeering and heckling.
Darnak watches the matches as well and can't help but shake his head at the embarrassing rants of Deathless as he slowly scoots away from his teammate.

"Oh, an archery contest!" Usually, Wong wouldn't like to show his skills, but they've already fought anyway, so by now everybody should be aware that there's a winged archer in the contest. Who knows, maybe this could help him focus his mind.
He hasn't been relaxed for the whole night. The fact of just going to bed without addressing the problem with the wine is still haunting him, as he believes the right thing to do would have been going to the Guard. When he realized, however, they were already going to bed and no one seemed to care, so he just rolled with it. A decision he now regrets, though he feels it's too late now.
So a bit of distraction won't hurt. "I want to give it a try."
For this competition, a number of targets have been set up around the arena, and each team is granted a total of 10 arrows to use as they see fit among the three targets designated for their use. The first target is a mundane bull’s-eye with five concentric colored rings. The second target has been magically augmented to grant it concealment (20% miss chance), as if it were a creature affected by the blur spell. The final target has been further augmented to grant it displacement, as per the spell, and a 50% miss chance.
Contestants are not permitted to dispel the magical effects on the second and third targets, but may use magic to negate the miss chance (such as the true seeing spell). For each shot, a contestant must declare a target area and make an attack roll, earning a number of points based on the difficulty. An arrow fired at targets 2 or 3 that misses due to concealment earns 0 points. The PCs may select a single archer to represent their team or divide the 10 shots among several party members.
When you are ready state what targets your sending your arrows to and roll for them. Include your % for target 2 and 3.
This is per team so make sure you figure out who's firing which arrow.
X hearing the rules nods disappointed and cedes the shots to the true archer.
