Marten Rivers |
Marten returns to the group, his interest now piqued by the footsteps.
There's tracks. Down there by the lake. he points. If you're willing to wait a little longer to hand in our bounty we could see where they lead. I know I for one am curious as to what exactly happened here. he adds with an almost hopeful look at Gryf.
GM_Jadecat |
Oh, and I forgot this from earlier...
Haru Yoshioka |
"These prints look like bare bones, like skeletal undead. That's worrisome. I'd be willing to go along to find them, and if we do, we better go now, but we'd have to be very careful."
Gryf Rivers |

Gryf shakes his head at the conversation between Friday and Xel. "It's like being back at the circle" He mutters as he stands, stepping out into the rain. He feels it hit his body an almost cleansing feeling.
"Undead... bane of the living. We can't let them walk around the swamp, if they somehow made their way to Sandpoint a lot would die. We can turn in the bounty later, let's track them." He start to pack his gear and sling his axe over his shoulder. Then moves to help with the tracking.

Once the party has made their preparations, Marten, Haru & Gryf take point, leading the party along the trail of the skeletons that attacked the Licktoad village.
The rain doesn't let up as the party moves along, slogging through the brambles and mud. The trail passes through several streams in the marsh, but thanks to a concerted effort the party manages to stay on course.
After a while, the trail passes through a clearing. A sagging one-story shack sits in this clearing, its walls dingy with age and encrusted with lichen and fungus. A partially collapsed shed sits just to the northeast, while small pouches, twisted knots of feathers, and dangling wind chimes made of bones hang from branches and roof edge alike.
New map!
Gryf Rivers |
Gryf eyes up the shack, slowly stepping forward. "A place to get out of the rain and rest?" He then slowly walks toward the shack. "Hello? Is anyone in there?" He shouts out.
Friday Daud |
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Falling along beside Gryf as he calls out to the building and its potential occupants Friday keeps his eyes and ears about.
Marten Rivers |
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
This place doesn't look inhabited, it looks like it's barely standing. Let's be careful in case something else has moved in. Marten says, edging toward the door and, if there is no response to Friday or Gryf, pulls it open.
GM_Jadecat |
There is no response to Gryf's call.
Marten steps up to the front door and tugs on it, only to find that the door is stuck shut, swollen with moisture.
Haru Yoshioka |
"Let's check the shed," Haru says, walking cautiously towards it with an arrow on the string.
What kind of bones are there?
Friday Daud |
"There's recent tracks..." Friday says softly to the other before following after Haru as she suggests the shed, spear in hand.
Haru Yoshioka |
"There's something in the shed," she whispers.

Friday Daud |
Friday nods and moves to open the door, his spear at the ready to stab at anything that lunges out at them. Sparing a glance with the others to see if they're aware and ready he then opens the door.
Haru Yoshioka |
Haru lines herself up with the door. "Stand aside as you open the door, Friday, so I have a clear shot," she whispers to him.
Marten Rivers |
Marten also stands back away from the shed as Friday prepares to open it, hoping that if they have found where the skeletons made their way to, that no one else was hurt by them first.
Spells prepped today; CLW, Snowball, Mudball
Friday Daud |
My apologies for not putting it in the last post but Friday does open the door after that last nod, sorry if this held things up!
GM_Jadecat |
Sorry to keep ya waiting. Was rereading some of my old campaign posts in a different thread.
Friday opens the door to the shed. Upon closer inspection it becomes clear that it was once used to store supplies. Now, this building has mostly collapsed.
The chittering abruptly stops as Friday comes face-to-snout with several dire rats.

Round 1: Everyone is up!
Friday Daud |
I'm assuming the initiative roll is because they're aggressive now and not just frolicking about in the shed?
Friday Daud |
Actual Post.
If aggressive:
Friday lunges at one of the ROUS before stepping back to allow Haru a clear shot.
So an attack then 5ft step back next to Marten.

Valeria's ray strikes the dire rat dead on the nose, but it doesn't bring it down.
The rats retaliate, pouring out of the shed's ruined walls! Two of them race for Valeria and Haru fires an arrow at one... unfortunately, her arrow clips the shed wall and flies off-target. One runs at Friday, and the last one throws itself at Gryf.
"What are ya doing?! Whack it, dammit!" Xel crows as the frosty rat moves around the side of the shed.
AoO (Valeria): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

The other rat lunges at Friday...
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
...and promptly trips over itself, burying its snout in the mud.
From within the house, a loud *SCREECH* can be heard, followed by a *chittering* in an alien tongue!
"విలే రెండు కాళ్ళు! ఈ ఇంటి నుండి చిట్కా!"
