"Come, then, foul beast! Let us face each other and see who shall be triumphant!" Henris taunts, as his sword begins to glow with arcane power. He then rushes forward and slashes at the Orc before him. The orc reaches up and grabs the blade, grinning wickedly as blood wells up beneath the blade and drips to the floor. He pulls his hand free and drinks the pooled blood from his hand, then he smears the rest of it across his face. For the first time, Henris knows fear.

Across the inn, Sarissa faces her own opponent. Hopping over the edge of the bed, she lands quietly on the floor. She reaches out and grabs the branched spear and turns to face her foe. She drives the tip of the spear towards the orc's gut, but the confines of the room made the strike awkward at best. The butt of the spear knocked against the head of the bed first and then the wall after. It was all she could do to keep her hands on the spear and the blade pointed away from herself. Still, she tried her best to be menacing with the polearm. Somewhere deep in her own subconscious, Jerr-Dann had to be laughing. The warrior snarls and cuts at Sarissa. But, she steps back and easily avoids the blow. Just as twin roars rock the inn, shattering Herranrrell and Nehama's confidence.

At the lake, Nivian dodges a crossbow bolt as it splashes pointlessly in the water.

Frustrated by the lack of maneuverability in the confined space, Sarrissa planted the butt of her spear on the floor of the inn and kicked her feet off of the wall, vaulting onto the bed and out of the orc's reach. With more room to wield the branched spear, she thrust it downward and into the orc's thigh. If she didn't kill the savage, she at least wanted to maim it so she could escape the room and see to the others. The roars seemed to shake the very walls of the inn and she began to fear the worst.

I take it I'm shaken from some affect, but I'm unsure what I need to roll to overcome that.

Nehama backs away from the snaring beast, bumping against her closed door. She swings, unsure it would do any good, and her weapon misses the mark as she fights defensively against the door frame

Sorry about the confusion folks!

Nehama backs away from the snaring beast, bumping against her closed door. She swings, unsure it would do any good, and her weapon misses the mark as she fights defensively against the door frame. The orc laughs at her strike. "Weak elf! Your meat taste good!" He laughs again and licks his chops, drool drips onto the floor.

In the greatroom next to hers, Pero realizes his predicament. He's too close to the beast to attack, and there isn't enough room for him to step away and let fly his bow. He switches tactics. As the Orc charges at Pero and misses, he is forced to abandon his advantage with the bow and draws his longsword to attack in a vicious upward chop with both hands! Yet, it does nothing for him, and the blow cuts only the brute's topknot. "HA! Weak elf! You make good slave!" The orc chortles and readies his axe for another strike.

Deep in his own room, unconscious to the madness assailing the Inn, Iym's blood spills across the floor. But, he is made of sterner stuff, his ancestors call out to him to fight back the call of death, to stand and face these monsters that despoil their ancestral homelands! The bleeding stops, and he takes a steadying breath. He's unconscious, but stable! yay!

Round 3!!!! I'll resolve Sarrissa, Nivian, and Herranrrell now since i have their actions
Herranrrell collects himself, despite the orc's savage fury and blustering. He pauses for a moment, channeling arcane energy into his leafblade, before thrusting with all of his might into a gap in the orc's armor. The blade strikes true! The elf magus feels his blade slide quick and deep into the orc's chest, beneath the gap where its breastplate met the hide about its hips. Blood bursts from the orc's mouth, as it works soundlessly. Mute shock gives way to furious rage, however, and it pulls itself along the blade towards Herranrrell, axe lifted to strike.

Across the hall from Herranrrell, Sarissa presses the attack on her own would-be assassin. Frustrated by the lack of maneuverability in the confined space, Sarrissa plants the butt of her spear on the floor of the inn and kicks her feet off of the wall, vaulting onto the bed and out of the orc's reach. With more room to wield the branched spear, she thrusts it downward and into the orc's thigh. If she doesn't kill the savage, she at least wants to maim it so she can escape the room and see to the others. The roars seemed to shake the very walls of the inn and she begins to fear the worst. But! the worst has not yet come! Not for her, nor any of the others! Her leaf blade slides quick and deep into the savage's thigh, tearing meat and shattering bone with its barbs. She pulls her spear free and blood drips freely from the wound, pooling about the brute's feet, and staining the wooden floors a deep oily black.

Outside the inn, Nivian readies her bow and fires again. Another arrow flies true, carried by the might of her enspelled bow. The arrow pierces the brute's chest, parting tanned hide and orc flesh alike with perfect ease. The orc steps back from the force of the strike. Then, his hand grips the shaft and snaps it off, tossing the ruined arrow into the water.

Middle? of Round 3: Henris UP! then, orcs, then Nehama, Pero, and if someone can cure him, Iym.

Besides, his sister always said he had more balls than sense.

"I do not fear you, beast! I will stand against you, and I will be triumphant!"

Adopting a defensive stance, Henris sets himself, preparing for the orc's follow-up stroke.

Hur hur hur! The brute laughs and strikes with a wicked overhand chop. Just in time, Henris brings his own blade up to catch the orc's steel in a jarring clang that sends pins and needles up his arm and leave his hand frightfully numb.

In Sarissa's room, blood spurts from the orc's wound as he stumbles forward to attack. Slowly, its ruined leg trailing behind him, it clambers onto the bed, gnashing its teeth and great tusks it steadies itself on the soft mattress, ready to strike!

Across the room, Herrannrrell's foe shambles forward, blade raised in shaky, blood-slicked fists. Its arms quiver in the air, and the light of madness flickers in its eyes. Though it clearly seeks the elf's death, he cannot muster the strength to strike, and he stands gasping for air, willing himself to stay alive to fight. Herranrrell is certain of but one thing: the brute is not long for this world.

In the room next to Herranrrell, Pero faces his own quarry. The orc bellows a mighty roar and digs his hand into the gaping wound in his side. Pulling it free, he coats his face in blood and licks the hand clean. Then he roars again, spraying blood-flecked spittle everywhere. It's an intimidating display, all the more so because it showed how little the orc cared for life, even his own. The brute only craved death and destruction of all things, including himself! Pero felt his blood run cold at this realization. There was no reasoning with this creature, and no hope for peace. The orc would not rest until one of them was dead. Even then, it had to be the orc. For, if the orc lived, he would continue on to slaughter countless others.

At the water's edge, the orc lifts its crossbow one more time and fires. The bolt flies with deadly accuracy, ripping through Nivian's belly, and leaving her sorely wounded. But, it was all the strength the brute had left in him. He gurgles one last time as blood trickles from the hole in his ruined throat, the crossbow dropping to the ground. The mad, fiendish light fades from his eyes, and the orc collapses beside the water's edge, dead.

She spots a brutish orc advancing on Pero further down the hall, though the savage is gravely wounded.

The brute levels his crossbow at Pero and fires. But blood slicks his fingers and his aim is thrown wide. The bolt lands well above the elf's head, and the orc frantically tries to reload his weapon before Pero can strike next.

In his chambers, Henris breathes a sigh of relief that the threat is down for at least a brief time as the orc falls over laughing. Hearing the door burst open behind him, he recognizes one of the Elves from the common room. "Good timing. Let's get him while he's down."

Henris's blade then glows with arcane power as he moves forward to slay the prone Orc. The brute's mad giggles kick his descending blade away at the last moment, spoiling his strike. The laughter continues as the brute slowly rises, chortling evilly to boldly stare Henris in the eye.

Out at her pool, Nivian quickly searches the corpse. She finds nothing of value, not even gold. But, she finds a carving on the savage's chest: a toothed maw encircled by a snake. The wound is fresh and still weeps blood. From the inn, she can still hear the mad din of battle.. and laughter?

Herrnarrell jumps away from the orc as it powers through the deep wound in its back and decides a different tactic might be necessary to finally bring the beast down. Pulling a small piece of wool lint out of his component pouch, Herrnarrell whispers a single word before blowing the wool at the orcs back, waiting for the spell to take effect. The lint bursts to light, sending sparks and smoke up into the brute's face. He curses in orcish and scrabbles at his eyes, trying to clear them from the offending magic. Pero takes the moment to aim and fire, but the shaft misses, as smoke begins to billow from the stairs below, spoiling his view.

Further down the hall, Henris calls upon his innate training, centering his power and skill in his blade. The steel thrums with arcane energy, and the with a quick slice, Henris relieves the orc of his head, sending the brute to the floor with two separate thumps.

In Iym's room, Sarissa calls upon her sacred connection to the spirit world. Her hands take on a luminous glow, almost as though another set of ghostly hands covered her own. That same ethereal light surrounds Iym's prone form. Some of it enters Iym's wounds, and they quickly heal. In moments the once dying elf is awake and whole!

Outside, Nivian rushes towards the front of the inn. The common room is a scene in chaos. Orcs and rough-clad humans brigands swing axes and falchion at elf barmaids bearing curveblades and longswords. The elf lasses spin and twirl about the room, pivoting this way and that like dancers on a stage. But, they are growing tired, and cuts sprout upon their arms and legs with increasing ease. Fire licks at the legs of tables and chairs throughout the common room, and smoke billows from the kitchen in a black could, filling the air with choking fumes. The ale barrels behind the counters have all been burst, and the floors are covered in an inch of alcohol.

In the center of the room stands a hulking figure in black plate armor and a tattered black cloak. The figure seems to eat at the light of the room, creating a nimbus of perpetual gloom about him. The man turns, and she can see Myrrin in the man's grasp, being lifted above the water.

"Where?! Tell me! Where are they!? We know they came here!" His voice is hollow, echoing. It is emotionless, and yet it carries unspeakable rage and hatred for all life. Nivian sees him and knows, instantly, that to face him, even for a moment, is to face death. Indeed, Myrrin's body looks slightly wasted and gray, as though the life were somehow being drawn out of him. The innkeeper looks at her for a moment, hiding the motion as a mere reaction to the curtains that suddenly explode into flames, and the meaning is clear: Run.
Everyone's currently occupied with killing everyone else. If she wants to sneak across the room, she can do so with a +15 bonus because of the smoke, noise, and general chaos in the room. I took some liberties, and moved her to the front of the inn, instead of by the well
