I see I'm the only one on the night shift. So be it. Lol
About myself: I'm an RN at a local hospital, in the ICU. I work night shifts, but keep my phone on me and at slow moments can use it to make some game updates. Days off I flip to a regular sleep schedule, so I will have posts scattered all over time-wise.
I generally keep my games updated on when I start a stretch of nights (this is my first of 6 in a row, by the way) so people can be aware of when to expect posts from me. However, I do give the DM permission to DMPC me as needed to keep things moving if I am holding up a scene.

Hi folks
Thanks for being selected. With all that RP in the recruitment thread that passed me by, I had little hope. I've been looking forward to a Runelords campaign for quite some time.
Hi Thron, <waves>. I never noticed it was you in recruitment.
About myself, I'm old. Been playing D&D for more than 30 years. I've two kids 5 & 6 years old. After a career, I'm back at school in my last year of my doctorate, so I'm more available during the weekdays and when the kids are occupied.
If I go more than a day without posting and I haven't told you to expect it, it means that my Paizo campaign screen hasn't indicated an update. And if I'm away, I of course enable DMPC, so my absence does not bog the game.
cheers

It would be great if you could open the Gameplay, so we can dot it into our campaign page. We can delete our posts afterwards.
cheers

Hey there, I'm here! I was up late last night, so I could have posted, but I was really burnt out by a PFS game gone wrong. I'm a 21 year old student with a part-time job living at home, and I'll be posting inbetween (and sometimes during) classes.

Hey GM
Couple of things:
1. Can you clarify this creation rule?
Characters begin play knowing all common, all racial/ethnic languages, plus one additional language if your character has a positive Intelligence bonus (not one bonus language per point).
Edlethron has these Languages: Common, Dwarven, Elven, Halfling, Shoanti, Skald, Varisian as "all common, all racial/ethnic languages"; Thassilonian from a campaign trait; and Undercommon for "one additional language if your character has a positive Intelligence bonus."
Did I interpret it correctly? Am I missing any? Does Orc count as a racial language for half-orcs?2. Racial spells and archetypes remain restricted.
I assume this means that Windy Escape is limited to Sylphs, right? Otherwise, Edlethron would enjoy knowing it.
cheers

Edlethron should get Common and Elven as his racial languages, and Varisian as a regional language if he's from Varisia. He'd get Thassilonian from his trait, and he'd get one extra language of his choice.
Basically, I don't like having a character start at level 1 who's octolingual despite not investing anything into the study of languages, heh.
Yes, Windy Escape is Sylph-only (I've noticed a trend of amazingly powerful immediate-action racial spells, heh. This is a prime example.)

Hello, everyone! I'm very happy to be gaming with you fine folks.
@DM - I have been reading up on the Bolt Ace on the Paizo message boards. While many classes and archetypes have abilities that require clarification and errata, there are two in particular I wanted to bring to your attention for a possible house-rule until an official errata can be released.
Less important: The Bolt Ace, despite being focused entirely on crossbows, is not proficient in all crossbows. Not a big deal, but it would be nice.
Very, very important: The Bolt Ace, despite being focused entirely on crossbows, gets the Gunsmith ability. I start the game with a firearm, and have the ability to fix firearms with the Gunsmithing feat, despite having no class abilities that affect firearms. Most message boards addressing this issue see it as an oversight, and suggest that replacing this ability with the Rapid Reload feat would be most appropriate. I would be very appreciative if we could take this route.

OK and yes, those immediate action spells are powerful.

That sounds like a good swap, Sejanus. Go ahead and replace Gunsmith with Rapid Reload... and yes, you're proficient with all forms of crossbows.
I will be getting us underway soon - it's been a really busy weekend and I haven't gotten the chance to start the gameplay thread. I can't wait for us to begin!
Update: The gameplay thread is posted. :)

Just looking over character sheets...
@Dolgrin - You have Masterwork Full Plate, Masterwork Heavy Steel Shield, and "Thunderer" Masterwork Warhammer on your equipment list. Was this left over from a previous game? That would fit your character, but right now is way over your WBL.
@Lacuna - You seem to have too many feats right now. By my count, you should have three, but I see four on your sheet. You should have one from being first level, one from a fighter bonus feat, and EWP (whip) from your Ancestral Arms racial ability.

I seriously want to insert an NPC into the group just so that I can participate in the roleplay when no major plot updates are happening, haha. I might stick you guys with a hireling or something just so I have an excuse to post more. :P
I am checking this thread like sixty times a day. I am so excited for this campaign.
Oh, by the way, I can't access Google Docs at work, but I'm gonna set up an inventory tracking sheet at some point once I get home, so you guys can keep track of any expenditures and earnings, as well as encumbrance or other things which need tracking.
I'll also be doing combat maps on Google Drive unless I can find a better option which I can access from the office.

Edlethron |

@Lacuna, which prestige class?
@GM, feel free to speed up the plot. Your players appear to be able to RP with very small plot appetizers. Imagine when we get to the juicy bits.
As you might tell from my metaphors, I'm hungry for lunch...
cheers

Alphonse, can you please put your stats in the Profile tab on Alphonse's character page? I'd like to be able to reference them without digging up your original recruitment post. I'd also appreciate the basic stats be included for both Dolgrin and Alphonse in the "Race/Class" entry, so that they appear below your name on each post.

Edlethron |

Yes, I concur. Without a map, it will be difficult to act.
Another way is to maintain a map and help us by describing how far our PCs are to the goblins.
cheers

Yes. If your movement takes you the orange square, that square is difficult terrain. Nothing else is.
Oh, wait, I see why you were confused. Someone moved the difficult terrain. I put it back. Yes, you should be able to make it to the stage with just one move action.
Sejanus, don't crossbows crit for double damage? I'm confused why 3 d8's got rolled - normally I would just roll for normal damage, as you did, then roll the extra crit damage alongside the confirmation roll, and add them together. It's moot either way for this poor goblin, though... :)
Oh, and I want to make sure you're aware that your allies provide cover too. Obviously with your rolls, that point's moot as well.

Sejanus Corvus |

I have another character on the boards who is an archer. I was thinking of bows instead of crossbows. Sorry.
Are there any penalties for firing through the crowd? Mechanically-speaking, of course.

No prob!

No. I'm just treating it as difficult terrain. Only other characters on the map provide cover.
Oh, in that case I would have double-moved to N14 instead.
Done. You have access if you want to move it yourself next time.

I have a love/hate relationship with PbP. On one hand, it offers me the chance to RPG when I otherwise would not have the time for face-to-face playing. On the other hand, I post between patients, and in my haste I make small mistakes. Bleh.
Thanks for letting me save my 20s. I have that goblin spellcaster on my dance card.

Game Master |

No harm done! :)
I love that it enables more in-depth roleplaying without slowing down gameplay (I'm a far, far better writer than actor), and I love that it lets me have a game to enjoy constantly throughout my day. My only issue with it is that I can't use actual, physical miniatures, which I somewhat obsess over. I have a massive collection of beautiful mini's which I never get to use because I don't have an in-person gaming group aside from Pathfinder Society.

Game Master |

You know, the goblins were supposed to be like, a threat or something. Can you guys do me a favor and be a little less awesome in the future? I can't handle how badass you're all being. :P
I'll get the next post up soon for post-battle stuff. In the meantime feel free to dispatch the only standing goblin (dazed, because of course he is), and react to the attack.
