Doritannia starts slightly at the introduction.
"Hello." she states quickly, before glancing over to Temel Passad and back again "Oh yes, a most somber occasion. I would that we could all be gathered in this lovely estate under more pleasant circumstances.
"Vandranell, it is very nice to meet you. I have purchased a variety of potent spirits from Cheliax; it is truly a land of fine wares and...exotic appetites. What type of trade do you specialize in?"
Vandranell |
"It would be lovely if there were no death, excepting Pharasma's boredom and all the crowding that would result" Vandranell replays with a slight smile.
"It is truly my pleasure. Cheliax indeed is a unique land, I'm glad to meet someone with a taste for one of it's fairer appetites. Surely it's wines and liquors are some of the finest in all Golarion. He glances over at Temel briefly. I trade in justice and the letter of the law primarily. On occasion I run errands here and there for one of my..uh...more prominent clients. If I may be so bold as to ask; what is your specialization?"
Jayriann |
A smile crosses his face as he thinks fondly of his mentors and replies, "No, nothing of the sort, although some of them do profess to worship this god or that. We... they are cabal of simple historians to whom I owe not only my skill with magic, but my very life. It is a long and arduous story, no doubt incomparable to the numerous tales you might certainly recount."
Vandranell |
Vandranell to Doritannia:
"Well... perhaps there is something I might be able to do to help revitalize your business. I am aquatinted with certain people of means in Egorian. Have you considered allying yourself with any of the merchants here tonight? There is power in numbers they say. Or perhaps I could help in some other way?"

Jakti looks somewhat disappointingly at Jayriann.
"Ah, I must admit that is a bit disheartening. I truly enjoy religion in its various forms and the pursuits associated with it.
"Ah well," he pauses, briefly breaking his stare and scanning the room; gaze falling upon the other vendors, "it is nice to see so many here to pay their respects."
Jakti closes his eyes slowly as he dabs at his forehead with a handkerchief.
"Unfortunately, the sun’s heat has made the manor quite stuffy, yet the servants seem less than willing to open additional windows to let in more air. I don't know if you've established any rapport with the household staff. If you have, however, I would greatly appreciate if you could convince them to open more windows?"
Timothy Withem |
Doritannia looks somewhat disgustedly at Charles before turning back to Vandranell and whispering quietly, "I will take your offer into consideration. I have entertained the possibility of allying myself with others, but such means often end up outweighing the ends..."
Vandranell, please give me a sense motive check.

Pellius spreads his arms in greeting as a large smile spreads across his face.
"Master Thoradin, it is wonderful to make your acquaintance!" His face momentarily screws up as he searches his memory for something. "And a holy crusader of The Inheritor, no less. I am quite well, despite the solemn nature of this event. It is always wonderful to have the opportunity to meet so many new contacts and future friends. And how do the gods find you this evening?"
Jayriann |
Jayriann nods in acknowledgment towards the elder, and responds, "I too have an interest in the study of religion, though I have not yet delved into the field to any depth. Perhaps when time better permits, you could speak with my associate Thoradin who is a paladin in the service of Iomadae. I am sure he could share wisdom and knowledge that would slate your curiosity.
He then pauses to look around at the windows, "As for the windows, I will speak with the staff on your behalf. I am sure they would be pleased to accommodate your request, else we might find other means of making you more comfortable."
The Tiefling Jakti and takes his leave. His first order of business is to Abir and convey Jakti's request. If Abir and the house staff is unable to cool the area, his next plan will be to confer with his associates to see if someone is capable of casting an endure elements spell on the old man.

Thoradin gives Pellius a Sight bow
Iomedae finds me well good ser, And i must agree with you, despite this being a Funeral, there is much business being conducted. Would it be too forward to ask if you where interested in doing a little business? we were sent on behalf of Abir, and the Pathfinder Society, and would like to secure a Multi-Year contract.

Pellius rubs his chin thoughtfully and raises an eyebrow.
"Very interesting, Pathfinder. Very interesting indeed."
He surveys the room, lingering momentarily on Metella, as she talks briefly to a small group of attendees.
"Let me think on this proposition and get back to you. Believe you me, it is not a route unpondered by me."

As the shadows lengthen, the cleric Umut emerges from the temple, calls for the guests’ attention, and requests they honor the deceased.
With that, Aaqir al’Hakam and several other members of the Bahjari household carry a wooden bier bearing the shrouded body of Zarmina through the front door, up the stairs, and into the temple, where the guests file in afterward.
Aaqir al’Hakam and the others lay the bier atop the altar of Sarenrae, and then join the other guests in the pews.
Umut opens the service by recognizing the goddess to whom the temple is consecrated as a sign of respect before transitioning to an invocation to “our lady of eternity, who shepherds the deceased to an everlasting afterlife.”
Anyone with skills in Knowledge (religion) can give me a check.
Timothy Withem |
Thoradin, you clearly recognize the ceremony as Pharasman funerary rites.
Most of Umut's prayers are in her native Osirian language, though her bidding the soul safe voyage down the River of Souls is delivered in Common.
With that, she invites the guests to come forward, place any gift to be interred with Zarmina on the table near the altar, and address the guests and the deceased.
One by one, the merchants who have come to honor Zarmina step forward...

Doritannia looks somewhat disgustedly at Charles before turning back to Vandranell and whispering quietly, "I will take your offer into consideration. I have entertained the possibility of allying myself with others, but such means often end up outweighing the ends..."
Vandranell, please give me a sense motive check.
Sorry I haven't been here, this week has been crazy.

The merchants who have come to honor Zarmina all give splendid gifts.
Doritannia Raffella speaks highly of Zarmina, and she further cites Temel Passad as a similarly upstanding member of the mercantile community who will certainly carry Zarmina’s torch of fair business practices into the future.
Temel nods in recognition of her kind words, as if expecting this praise.

One more thing...I forgot to give you guys this opportunity, so we'll time travel a bit for anything you want to do prior to the speeches.
Jayriann, Abir returns to you shortly before the speeches begin, letting you know that his staff have opened many of the windows to allow some air flow throughout the house.
Also, Metella hurries to you, quickly slipping a small vial of sneezing powder and whispering, "If you get the opportunity, this will definitely make for an embarrassing situation for Temel."
So guys, you can take a few minutes to quickly attepmt Metella and Temel's favors, if you wish. If you don't want to risk it, simply let me know.
Thanks, guys.
Vandranell |
I think we should attempt both. I'm not sure if i said it earlier but in character I would have mentioned us working together to meet each others end. I.E. We can try to slip Temel the sneezing powder, and someone from the other pair could try and snag Jayriann's speech (I think thats what Temel wanted)
Jayriann |
As the party discusses how to carry out the pranks, Jayrianne sighs and admits that he has no skill in any matters of stealth. "The best I can do is invoke the Guidance of the Ages to aid us in our nefarious deeds. I suppose I shall attempt to search Metella's room for her speech. If it is not in there, we'll adjust. Am I to do this on my own?"
Jayriann |
So long as Jayriann can cast a couple quick spells without alarming the other guests, he could cast guidance on Vandranell and Custer to give them some assistance.
Turning towards Thoradin, "Certainly not, my good colleague, I would never impose upon you to take part in such hijinks. You are certainly far too mature an adult for such endeavors." With a wry smile, he turns to keep an eye out while their companions proceed with their shenanigans.
