I made a few minor adjustments based on the DM's advice and went ahead with creating a new alias. I like this character so much that if he is not chosen here, I will try him elsewhere.

piecing the profile together for lack of something better to do...

:D

I wanted to throw this character into the mix. She is about 60% finished, and I haven't written her backstory yet. I'll get the rest of her tidied up in the next couple of days.

"Red" is a female human investigator. More specifically, she is a trained ship's surgeon.

If you foresee the campaign including acquired scars, eye-patches, and peg-legs, she's your gal.

As far as party role goes, she will be a support player - filling a similar role as a bard would (knowledge skills, some healing, and some practical skills).

Ok, posting as an update, MordredofFairy here.

Quite a bit of crunch already done, but background, description and fluff are still missing from the profile. I got that worked out but did not put it in writing yet. Will do hopefully before the deadline, but still posting her up.(name+pic are not finalized-)

As for the familiar, I now went with a snapping turtle. I would have preferred a aquatic familiar, but it can hold it's breath for over an hour before starting to check for drowning, so thats good, too, because at the times I would have to go deeper than that, I can always fall back on spells.

As for her role, she's very knowledgeable(variant multiclass bard for bardic knowledge), has experience as a navigator(profession sailor, knowledge geography, and "know direction" at will.)

Her Lore-Focus is on Naval Folklore, stuff like Giant Squids or hidden islands and whatever other stories old captains spun for a bottle of rum.

She can sing(perform), both shanties and more...siren-like.(eventually will get versatile performance for it).

I dropped the beast-bonded part, because it is very costly in hexes, and also, because turning into a turtle is not as cool as turning into an octopus ;)

Would like to throw this diplomancer/manipulator out for consideration. She was created for a different game that died, so I can adjust point buys and such if necessary, but the fluff and 90% of the crunch should be there.

Amid the clamor and bustle of the busy port town, Jack was delighted. Stepping off the deck of the Grizzled Grindylow, the trade vessel that had carried him all the way here from Devil's Arches, Jack tipped his tricorn hat to the boatswain before strolling down the dock, whistling a jaunty tune. Port Peril, along with all its dangerous delights, awaited him!

From the grinning cutthroats to the bar toughs, he could see that this place was the spitting image of a pirate port. Rapier at his side, he sidled into a tavern whose appealing-seeming sign bore the image of a buxom serving maid with the type of bosom a charming young halfling man could get lost in. "Formidably Maid," he thought to himself. "That's either a good pun or the spelling's a bad joke."

As his eyes adjusted to the gloom of the busy tavern, he sidestepped past a serving wench carrying a platter of drinks and made his way to the bar. It wasn't long before he caught sight of a beautiful red-haired human beauty with a gleaming cutlass at her hip, whose fierce glare told the drunken mass to keep its distance. That obviously didn't apply to Jack, he reasoned, so he downed his drink, ordered two more, and strolled over to her table with both of them. In the hours that followed, the two of them learned a great deal of things from one another. She learned that size isn't everything, and one should never judge a halfling by his cover. Jack, on the other hand, learned that you shouldn't trust strange pirate women you meet in bars, as he was ambushed by several thugs leaving her room, and knocked unconscious before he could even draw his sword.

Backstory:
Jack grew up on one of the many islands of the Shackles, raised in a halfling community near a small port town by his single mother. She would never tell him anything about his father, and he often wondered who he might be, imagining everything from a naval captain to a mighty wizard. When he grew old enough to work, he worked as a deckhand aboard a small fishing vessel, feeling as at home aboard a ship as he did on solid ground. He always felt the call of the waves, though, longing to venture into deeper waters and the open sea.
One day, upon returning to port, he discovered that his mother had fallen ill. Rushing to her side, he found her feverish and weak, unable to leave her bed. She revealed to him that his father had been one of the feared Free Captains of the Shackles, a pirate of great renown named Jack Thimble, rumored to have cut down men of twice his size with ease. She had seen his longing for the sea, and knew that to keep him from his father's legacy would be to deny him the destiny he deserved.

She passed away within the week, leaving Jack with little to tie him to the sleepy and peaceful village of his birth. Selling off his mother's home, he bought passage on a ship to the notorious pirate haven of Port Peril to seek his destiny.

Personality and Appearance:
Dashing and handsome even by halfling standards, Jack is a lover of women, of drink, and of the thrill of adventure. Sailing and swordplay are his two greatest passions, though, and he takes to both with grace and practiced ease. He has long since felt that the sea is in his blood, and with the discovery of his father's past, he feels compelled to seek out his own destiny upon the high seas. He stands at a striking 3'4" (quite tall for his race), with a charming smirk and rich brown hair, and has well-calloused hands from working with ropes and rigging. Confident and assured, he exults in defeating opponents larger than himself - both in contests of skill and in physical combat.

Prideful of his talents and determined to prove himself, Jack nevertheless manages to maintain an optimistic outlook even when his pride is wounded. He loves making friends, enjoying helping an ally succeed as much as himself, and could potentially flourish into a talented leader if given the opportunity. If nothing else, Jack knows that lady luck has his back, and has been known to take crazy risks to meet his goals. His luck hasn't failed him yet, and despite all challenges, he eagerly looks forward to a life of adventure!

Jack's been in a few Skull & Shackles adventures before, all sadly failed after a few pages. You can click here or here for samples of how I roleplay him. He's not cruel, but he shows no quarter when there's good cause for ruthlessness. He'd fit well into a pirate crew of any alignment.

I wish to submit Tanrov Shadow-Graxt(Eternity).

He is a Tiefling (oni-spawn), Skoan-Quah Shoanti Clan (Skull) Inquisitor of Pharasma with a Earthbreaker over his shoulder and the word of the mistress of eternity on his lips.

Appearance, personality and background being written up

TLDR version

Tielfing throw back born to human Shoanti clansmen, worshippers of Pharasma, his lack of acceptance by all but the Lady of graves has lead him to be a bit feisty in his furthering of her agenda. He's found himself in port Peril to satisfy his need to tread the waves and so that he may bring the lady of graves teachings to those that she seems to be an ever present companion for..

Alrighty then. Red's ready to sail. Crunch and backstory are complete.

Let me know if I need to make any adjustments.

Thanks!

Crunch and Fluff should be done.

Oh, forgot, she also gets the bardic performance, of course, and hexes. So all the better *cackles*.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Dotting for interest, will submit a char soon, need to sleep first.

My submission. A Forlorn Elven Unchained Rogue who grew up in Port Peril.

Not that I'm trying to spam the thread, but I noticed that we seem to be heavy on bard-ish, roguish type appplicants. So, I would also (if you'll allow) to submit a martial character - specifically a brawler.

Here is - fully complete - Crack-jawed Ahto.

*Full Disclosure: I also submitted Red Barchetta*

If you prefer, I will withdraw one or the other from consideration. Naturally, I would not expect to play both (obviously).

I am very martially disposed as well..

I'm doing more filling out as I go.

Otto Otto is "done". I haven't made a spoiler with his combat stat block but, other than that, he is completed.

Might be interested. Thinking Halfling Sea Singer (Bard).

Funny, because I was thinking quite the same thing after I posted. Kind of "geez, i should go with "Blue" as a nick for my Undine". But I think there's plenty enough difference between all the kinds of "roguish" characters we have to warrant 2 or 3 making it in, because the focus is sufficiently different among most and many cover another role, too.(full arcane caster+healer, backup melee, etc...)

In general, quite a number of interesting submissions here already...since it's also saturday and recruitment will close, I'll also take this opportunity to say good luck to everybody!

Tanrov is complete and ready.

Background is now on the profile.

And let the waiting commence. :)

Recruitment is officially closed. I will be reviewing everything and will have results up as soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for applying. I can already say that you guys have come up with great concepts and I have some tough decisions ahead.

Good luck all!

Good Luck to all

I have made my selections and they are listed below. If you were not selected, please do not take it personally. I had to turn down more characters than I wanted to. Selecting a group is never easy. You'll probably notice that this is not a "well balanced" group, and that is intended. Also, should we lose people, I will select replacements from those that were not selected initially. If none are available then I will reopen recruiting. Thank you all for applying and I wish you luck in future recruiting.

Sandman
Aerel De'Cawen
Rillum "Bilge" Jimmings
Baltzar Callinova
Eidyia Mazu
Rhemus Frayne

Selections may begin posting in the discussion thread.
